The food was fresh, delicious, and decent portions. The dessert, which we normally skip, was also quite tasty. Certainly worth a visit if you're in Calgary!

We came here because of the great reviews and ended up having the best dinner of our Canadian trip — and one of the best dinners we’ve had in a long time. The food was absolutely outstanding, and the service (thank you, Robyn!) was truly first-class. Highly recommended! Again, the food wasn’t just good, it was delicious.

Went for a small birthday get together on the 23rd August. Our server was Robyn and she was amazing. Food was super good and service was very quick despite the place being super full on Saturday. She was great in suggesting good food and drinks. Thank you Robyn! Would definitely return to the location.

Enjoyed lunch here with my colleagues July 18. The patio is spectacular and the food was phenomenal as always. The service really stood out - Sam M, you are a 10/10! Prompt, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, friendly and attentive without hovering. We all agreed we'd ask to be seated in your section on our next business lunch.

Very cozy atmosphere - trendy restaurant with comfortable seating and cool sofas for a get-together with friends. Outdoor dining available. Each of the group has an incredibly delicious meal. My New York Strip Loin with ravioli and prawns named "Steak & Ravioli Bianco New York Strip" was unbelievably delicious. It's also worth traveling from further away for. The team is young & well-organized. Fast and extremely friendly service. Naomi took excellent care of us - we will be back soon! It was incredibly awesome!

Yesterday I made a reservation to celebrate my friend’s birthday. The host directed us to our table, and there was a beautiful flower centrepiece with a sign saying Happy Birthday and 4 glass of kind of sparkling drink. The Chef Christian came to say Happy Birthday, when we finished our dinner, the chef expressed he has a surprise for the birthday girl. It as a gorgeous dessert platter. Andrea our server was amazing; she recognized us because we have been there several times and evertime the service and the food had been great, but this time we were amazed how they went beyond our expectations to make my friend’s birthday very special. Thanks Andrea y Christian and the other servers that brought our food for the awesome experience.

What can I say, I love JOEYs! I've been to several locations so far and I love them all. This one in particular has such a nice layout and the coziest bar area. They have little booths that feel private but are still open. Our server was so nice and definitely took care of us. You just can't beat the happy hour menu!!!! Every single item we ordered, from the steak frites to the donuts, were amazing. The happy hour prices for their delicious food is unbeatable! Come here for happy hour, for lunch, dinner, a snack, and everything in between!

Very hip & cool bar with innovative smorgasbord menu which satisfies different craves from sushi, Thai, to American dishes. Open ceiling both industrially masculine and feminine with massive yet delicate chandeliers. On the menu I fixated was steak & sushi for $38CAD, and that did not disappoint. Both salmon seared jalapeño sushi and 6 oz of CAB steak were tasty, ate every bit of them! The sushi rice was sticky like a real sushi rice, which I liked a lot! I was also very happy with my steak for it was loaded with taste and peppery! Service was professional and friendly! Staff from reception to servers were all friendly! I reserved dinner at 6p but we showed up just before 5p and happily caught happy hour drinks each, then standard menu after! Place was inhabited with well-dressed and chic clientele tells you locals dine here as well! Menu has plenty to offer different craves. The food we ordered were inventive and delicious!

The hostesses were great, acknowledged us right away and gave us a drink while we waited. The waitress however was bad. She did not get the order right (wrong item came out and another item was missing, she first claimed I had not mentioned it to her when I clearly did and she repeated it back). She then asked at the end if we wanted to split the bill. It was me, my partner and our two kids. That was weird. Food was also not anything special. Would not go back.

My boyfriend and I spent a few days in the Eau Claire area of downtown Calgary between travels. The first night, we went for a happy hour late-night dinner at Joey Eau Claire. It was fantastic! The location itself is gorgeous, featuring a rustic bar with booths and bar seating. We sat at a booth and ordered gyozas to start, which were delicious. I had the Szechuan lettuce wraps for my main, and they were incredible--amazing flavor and crunch but still a super light, refreshing meal. My boyfriend had the happy hour steak and fries, and it was some of the best steak I've had in a while! We were also very impressed with the drink prices. Definitely recommend going during happy hour or their late-night happy hour! Perfect for any occasion and consistently offers good upscale-style comfort food. Also amazing service our waitress and hostess were both super nice.

We had such a good experience here that we ate here twice on our little trip to Calgary! The food is absolutely fantastic, the vibes are chic and cozy, staff are friendly, and prices are decent, especially during happy hour. The first visit, we just had dessert but it was so good we ate an early dinner there the next day during their happy hour. Happy hour runs from 2-5pm daily and the menu has a surprising variety of items with awesome prices. My hubby got the sushi cone appetizer that was tiny and just meh - truly the only thing we didn't care for much. He also got the California Chicken Club - a large sandwich, cooked lovely and nice bacon on top and a generous portion of fries - he loved it. I'd heard a lot of fan fare about Alberta beef so I just had to try it - I got the Steak Frites and chose the 6oz Alberta beef sirloin and it was phenomenal!! I got it medium and they cooked it perfectly. That Alberta beef deserves every bit of praise it gets! For our dessert visit, we got the Molten Chocolate Cake and the Italian Donuts and both were so delicious. The chocolate cake is a lava cake and it's extremely rich but so good. The donuts were our fave - light and fluffy and the cream inside was fantastic. The vibe here is very hip and chic and so nicely decorated- it's upscale but also very cozy. We definitely felt a little underdressed but everyone was so nice so I don't think it mattered. The staff were wonderful - friendly, attentive and even spent some time chatting with us. It's located in the lovely Eau Claire area in downtown Calgary - very walkable and right across the street from the Sheraton hotel. Apparently they have Joey restaurants here in LA too so we'll have to check it out! We'll definitely be back when we visit again - highly recommend!

After arriving late into Calgary ( thanks Westjet ) to meet the lovely K for the weekend, we got to our hotel later than anticipated. We picked Joey's for the proximity, and we have enjoyed their food at home in the past. We didn't have a great start with the hostess seating us at a dirty table when there were plenty that were not. Our server was clearly annoyed when we asked her to clean the table, and didn't see to mind letting us know. From there she warmed up, as did we, and were all pals by the end of our dinner. The place is typical Joey's inside, and has a great patio outside, but it was dark so we chose the inside. The food is almost always good, if a little bit staid for our liking, but you typically know what you are going to get. K had the butter chicken which was great, but the naan and papadum were excellent. The only let down was the rice, which was barely warm. My blackened chicken was good, and thankfully our server was kind enough to allow me to change both sides as I am not a fan of warm potato salad or coleslaw. My substitutions of potato egg rolls was great, if a bit unusual, and my asparagus steamed well, but not cut short enough so the ends were chewy. All in all, a good meal, if a little short on the details which really is how the five starts are attained.

The food at Joey Eau Claire was amazin!! I highly recommend the hummus as a starter, it is top tier. The Szechuan lettuce wraps were equally delightful. Our server, 36 Madison was even more amazing than the food! Her customer service was exceptional. Great place to dine alone or with a great group of people.

Unpleasant and quite expensive for the mediocre taste you're getting. It was dry and just unsatisfying. Who pays $20+ for this? I don't understand people who go to Joey. It felt like elevated fast food hahahaha it wasn't anything good at all. Your $20 will blow your mind elsewhere so take it elsewhere. Service was fine tho and ambiance was ok too. The food was just not it at all. Sorry.

We went for the happy hour and we were very delighted about the menu and prices. We got the Tuna Poke Bowl with the Signature Sangria. Sangria was delicious and refreshing. Good for a warm afternoon in summer. Poke Bowl portion was good enough for one person and it tasted good. Service was a little bit slow but the restaurant was getting busy so I will said it was because of that. Patio was lovely but the music a little bit too loud but in general, a really good place to go for a drink.

Fun atmosphere, good music. Service was great. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly and professional. The food was as good as the reviews I read. They were very generous in letting me sample two different beers so I could pick the one I liked. I chose the BC beer on tap.

Service is excellent. Went twice on a 5 day trip. Steak and Sushi must be ordered. Also, love the Ahi Tuna Club. As to cook a few seconds longer.

We were staying at a nearby hotel. We walked over for the happy hour menu and a late dinner. Their happy hour menu had a lot of options to choose from. We decided to order the hummus, chili chicken, sliders and steak frites. Food arrived after a short wait. I was impressed at the portion size of the hummus. It was good for sharing with a larger group. There were both hummus and tzatziki for dipping. Hummus was creamy and tzatziki was refreshing. Pita was toasted and crispy. The chili chicken was mildly spicy and sweet with crispy wonton wrappers and refreshing cucumber pieces. The sliders were mini cheeseburgers with a slice of pickle, onion slivers and processed cheese. The steak frites was a cheaper cut of beef and it was alright for the price. We finished off the meal with an individually portioned baked apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The portion size was good for sharing between two people. Service was great. Our server stopped by regularly to check in on us to refill water and clear dirty plates. I would definitely stop by for a meal if I am staying nearby on my next visit to Calgary.

We had a great experience at Joey Eau Claire! My fiance and I came here on our first stop in Calgary to celebrate his birthday and the entire experience was great. The drinks were great and reasonably priced, the food was incredibly delicious and unique. Our server was so kind and personable. Overall very pleased with our experience here and highly recommend it!

This JOEY location is AMAZING!! The interior is industrial, dark, and gorgeous and we got such a warm greeting upon arrival. Our server tonight was Ayla, she mentioned she was a newer worker but she was so knowledgeable and incredible. She recommended me the Spicy Passion Fruit Margarita, and it was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, I loved it! I called in earlier to make a reservation and it was so quick and easy, and they even asked me where in the restaurant I wanted to sit so I requested the Lounge and my request was fulfilled. Two of the managers, Erykah and Alexa, occasionally checked in on us to make sure everything was going well and they were so friendly and easy to talk to! I love how they treated us like friends instead of customers. I love JOEY and can't wait to check out every location! What we ordered: Classic margarita 9/10 Spicy passion fruit margarita 10/10 Szechuan Chicken lettuce wraps 10/10 Oven Roasted Wild Cod 10/10 Steak & Ravioli Bianca 10/10 Crispy Mash 9/10 Espresso Martini 10/10 I definitely recommend checking out JOEY EUA CLAIRE restaurant! Not a bad place for a quick after-work happy hour. Drinks are mid to average at best. The Guacamole & Chips were decent. Nothing too fancy, does the job!

Great food, dark but nice interior (can see inside kitchen which was nice), and service was great. Waiters were all super friendly, and food came out fast.

Ayla was the best! The food was delicious! Coming for California I was very impressed with they're consistency and equality! My previous experiences were always great but now after visiting Joey Eau Claire I only have even better things to say about this restaurant!! Managers Alexa and Erykah really took care of us. I will be coming to Calgary just to visit my friends at Joey. Wonderful experience 10/10

The best Chicken Parmesan I've ever had. I was told that Sally was the chef. Thanks Sally! It was AMAZING! Maddie was a great server. Awesome music. Great atmosphere. Delicious food.

The PERFECT date night restaurant! Upon arriving for our reservation JOEY brought out complimentary glasses of rose which was pleasantly surprising. And it was delicious. Talk about valuing your guests! The wine list at JOEY is extensive and varied, so there's something for everyone--from dry rosés to sweeter ones, from light and crisp to heavy and rich. They also offer a wide range of cocktails, including their signatures. If you're looking for somewhere to go with friends or loved ones, JOEY is the place to be! The ambiance is relaxed but vibrant; the food is fresh and delicious; the service is attentive without being overbearing; and the drinks are on point! If you're in the mood for something more welcoming than an upscale restaurant but still an enjoyable meal with great company, then this is definitely your spot. My recommendation: Order the Lettuce Wraps for an app and pair the Spanish Cava with the Ravioli Bianco

I've been to two Joey Restaurants. Both excellent. Great service, great food, Lettuce wraps are the best. Nice touch at Joey Eau Claire was complimentary champagne at the door for our party of five. Add Austin Hope Cab to your wine list. It is a winner.

You can never go wrong with a high class meal/food here. It's always busy though. The ambience is corporate but dark and vibes.

Restaurant located near the waterfront in downtown Calgary. After hiking all day in Banff we got back to our hotel pretty late. I used Yelp to find some restaurants open late in walking distance and JOEY Eau Claire came up. I used the Yelp directions to try to find it and it was a little off. The restaurant is not inside the mall, it is next to it. Since the summer night was breezy and in the 70s we chose to sit on the beautiful patio. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I had the lobster ravioli for my meal. It was delicious. My dining partner had the steak frites which he enjoyed. Overall it was a great late night dining experience.

Where in Calgary, Alberta can you go for Bombay butter chicken, panang prawn bowl, ravioli with lobster / grilled prawns, bbq salmon rice bowl, Spanish paella, baby back ribs, and filet mignon? Last night in Canada on our 9 day Canadian Rockies trip. We walk into Joey Eau Claire, brick building, with large windows, and outdoor patio on this hot summer night in early September. TV screens above a huge bar area, with waitresses in short one piece black skirt outfits. We get an indoors table, take a look at the early bird specials, including $4 Hawaiian tuna taco, sushi cone, and sliders royale, good 3-6pm everyday, or after 9pm Sunday-Thursday. 6:30pm, we are out of luck. Our waitress wears the shortest skirt of all the ladies, and gives us the menus. Wife orders the $24.25 CAD ravioli with lobster and grilled prawns, while I get the $19.25 CAD Bombay butter chicken. Service is leisurely. We are one of the few who do not order any drinks or beer. I do some people looking, and check out a guy in shorts and white slide sandals, and a lady in a skin clinging pair of jeans, displaying her good proportions. If you got it flaunt it! The Bombay butter chicken is as good as those in Silicon Valley, home to thousands of Indian engineers. Boneless chicken with just the amount of spice in a bowl of thick gravy, accompanied by rice with peas, and home made hot out of the oven naan. The ravioli with lobster comes with three prawns, in a thick butter sauce. Lobster clearly can be seen when cutting open one of the ravioli. Both of us finish our meals in very quick time, and still hungry, order the $9.25 CAD apple crisp a la mode, with maple ice cream. Average service, noisy atmosphere, excellent food, small portions. Only time I had a chance to eat Indian food on our 9 day trip. I give the waitress an extra dollar or two for showing me her revealing short skirt outfit!

So I usually get the ahi tuna club but this time under friend's influence I got the The Butcher's Sandwich. Vancouver doesn't have The Butcher's Sandwich on the menu. But the Calgary location doesn't have the ahi tuna taco. Oh well. The Butcher's Sandwich has lots of Roast Beef. They were very generous on the meet. Nice. Only issue was that its not a lot of flavor. I liked location. Its located inside the trendy location of Eau Claire market. The décor of the place is really trendy. I like the atmosphere. Service was not bad. Overall experience was good. Food was good.

A friend of mine decided to come here for dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant has a good atmosphere, it looks modern and very inviting. We got the chili chicken and calamari fritti as appetizers. The chili chicken was super good! As main dish I ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl and I was not disappointed. The service is super friendly. At some point our server got busy with the bills from another table so we called a different server. She did apologize for the wait and took our wine order. The rest of the night went well. We enjoyed our meal and wine and overall had a good time at this restaurant.

Nice outdoor seating are. Good sized salads, the sliders were pretty yummy and the poke bowl better than expected. Good wine selection and some fru-fru specialty drinks too. I'd say a great place to hang with friends and share some apps, maybe not the best for a dinner as I didn't find the balance of the menu that appealing and too much hot spice/too many chicken dishes for my tastes personally, Ben my friends enjoyed their meals... so if you like chicken.. being a mostly veggie girl I couldn't find much beyond the house salad.

This is probably the first chain restaurant that I am writing a review for so that already says a lot. We got hummus, lettuce wraps, rosemary garlic fries and spaghetti pomodoro. Everything was delicious and very good price during happy hour which the second round starts after 9pm I believe. This makes it the perfect spot for late night bites. The whipped ricotta on spaghetti was a nice touch and the favorite dish for me. The aioli in rosemary garlic fries was absolutely amazing too. Lettuce wraps were really good but I wish they weren't as oily. The service was really good. The music was good, and it was very bar vibe plus good food. I wish we got to try some dessert but another time for sure.

While the food and atmosphere at Joey is always great, this review is about the service at the Eau Claire location. A little back story: my family was having a very bad terrible day (missed flight, lost passport, VERY cranky toddler) and we were staying last minute at the hotel across the road. Relieved to see a restaurant right across the way, we packed up and headed over... well, our toddler had other ideas after being stuck in a car and passport office for most of the day. She was being wild and, as much as we tried to get her to sit at the table, she wouldn't. Through it all, all the staff we encountered were so genuinely nice about the whole situation - grabbing a high chair quickly, and allowing us to let her roam on the patio where no one was seated due to the weather - and never made us feel rushed or as if they were annoyed. In the end, we decided to spare the other restaurant patrons a tired 2 year old and placed a take out order. Again, staff were lovely and accommodating. The order was prepared quickly (big thanks!) and when I came back to get it, they had included a lovely gift because they could tell we were having a sh*t day. This is a long review, but that gesture was so telling of the way this restaurant feels about their customers, and the lengths they will go to ensure they have a great experience. Food was great too! Thanks again, and kudos to your great staff - they made our day :)

Staying at the Sheraton Eau Claire, we wanted to eat somewhere nearby and ended up choosing this place as we had our 3 year old with us and the menu selection is extensive. Busy inside and outside on the patio as the weather was gorgeous outside. We were seated inside as the wait for the patio was 40 minutes. Service was pleasant, our server was run off his feet as the tables filled non-stop. They have an off-menu "kid's menu" when we inquired and happily ordered the cheese flatbread for our little guy. But at $11.25 (we didn't know until the bill came), the price seemed pretty steep, especially when it didn't come with any sides. We also ordered a juice which was $4 i believe, so yeah, it can get expensive if you're bringing more than one child with you. I ordered the Market Fresh Salad with grilled chicken upon the server's recomendation. It was nice and fresh. Came with a few pieces of cut-up grapes which I don't remember in the description. Hubs ordered the seared pressed salmon sushi rolls which were nice. I couldn't resist introducing my husband to the Loaded Crispy Mashed Potatoes that are usually offered as a side to their Steaks, so I ordered a side order as well. It was $6 for 2 which was steep. Our server warned us though that the price went up. We both enjoyed the few bites each but would hesitate to spend this much again on two pieces. For dessert we shared the individual apple pie but I asked for vanilla ice cream on the side. You can't go wrong with this dessert. There's a reason it's been on the menu since day 1. Overall a nice venue for food, it can get loud. But ideally located in walking distance to the River

The service was great. Mussels with curry was delicious. It was not overcrowded the night we were there and enjoyed the experience. We would go back.

Chicken park and herb encrusted salmon just perfect. Appetizer was hummus, delicate and full of taste, great service!

I had supper this evening with my cousin at JOEY Eau Claire. We both ordered the Rotisserie Chicken (mine was minus the veggies) ... it's the only thing I get when I go to a JOEY's. As always, it was delicious and filling! Sofia was our server. She was friendly and chatty yet she left us alone so we could catch up (we hadn't seen each other in 40 years!).

We loved this restaurant from the interesting decor, our very friendly waitress, Victoria and the food was so different and awesome. I had the Chicken Mediterranean and my husband had the Yellowtail Salad, we highly recommend both and would definitely order those again next time we are here.

Very good food and service. Only negative is indoor music much too loud and keeps repeating on a short loop.

Every dish we ordered was delicious. And wonderful service. The butter chicken has such wonderful flavor and the lettuce wraps were quite tasty.

The environment is classy and nice. However, the place is super warm over the winter. Dress light! Lol Their sushi cone is delicious, I'd highly recommend it. I had their two sushi rolls. The Osaka Style Pressed Salmon Sushi was horrible, I do not recommend it. The rainbow roll was good but nothing special. The staff was friendly. Overall, I'd again but I'd try something else.

1st time in Canada and was brought here for dinner. I walked in and loved the vibe here. Wonderful, friendly staff! Because it was my 1st time here, I received a complimentary appetizer- Ahi tuna tacos..... Now, I think my bro-in-law makes kick ass fish tacos with his asian inspired slaw that it gives the california baja fish taco a run for it's money, but these mini Ahi fish tacos were the bomb and ranks right up next to my bro-in-law's tacos. For my dinner entree, I thouroughly enjoyed the blackened basa- which was highly recommended - with a merlot...delicious. Made a whole day of travel to Canada end on a great note. Totally relaxing....

This is a very busy location for a restaurant given that is right beside Eau Claire Mall which is a very popular destination in Calgary especially during the summer well really during any time during the year. This is specifically because it's close to princes Island Park and in the winter in the summer whatever it is a very popular destination for runs and blocks of any kind really especially for charities though. The one that I did in June and that I do every June is the MS walk. After the MS walk myself and my team of 10 wanted to grab a lunch to celebrate the completion of walking 10 km. We decided to come here as does many other teams that were participating in the MS walk. So it was not only our idea. Given where this location of a restaurant is though I feel that when there is a walk happening in the area they should know and they should be prepared to accommodate large groups because right when the lock ended they did not have enough staff for this day they were not prepared it took a very long time to seat us and I was pretty upset about that. I just feel that if you're a business in this area you know that it is a very busy and popular area and therefore you should be prepared and know when all the events are their start times there and time so that way you can accommodate people much quicker especially when it's a group of 10 etc. because you know that it's going to be a big bill and a big tip for the waitress or waiter and the facility itself.

Had dinner here, and I have a gluten allergy, and have a pescatarian diet. They messed up on the order accommodated very nicely, gave us a gift card and made us feel really really great and appreciated. Even though they made a mistake will definitely come here again. Vibes are amazing. Played amazing music all night and took care of us.

Chill restaurant with delicious spicy mayo on the chicken sandwich. I had the frozen lemonade and enjoyed it. The yam fries are fingerlicious!

I absolutely love JOEY. I first came here a couple months ago, and I absolutely loved it. Steak and sushi. Can't go wrong. I came back again a few days ago for a nice dinner, and it hasn't changed. Excellent food and service in a trendy location by the Bow. They've got an excellent outdoor patio for gorgeous summer Calgary days, and a nice lounge/bar area as well if you prefer indoor seating. This time around, I asked for some recommendations. I was heavily tempted to just go with what I know - the steak and sushi, but the paella seemed to be calling out to me. I hadn't had paella before, so I thought now would be a good chance to try. I realize it's probably a very non-traditional one, but I went for it all the same. No regrets. Great combinations of fresh flavors, colors, and textures. Toasted/burnt rice at the bottom of the pan mixed with silky glutinous rice. Large shrimp and small shrimp mixed with the rice provided sweetness contrasted nicely with chorizo. Fresh peas added nice color, and the tomatoes, cilantro, and lemon added a great bright acidity, sweetness. All in all, a very well put together, enjoyable dish. I think I need to come back here again real soon!

My food took 40 min to come out. I texted my friend at 11:35 that i had ordered. Food arrived at my table at 12:15. And it was only the tempura roll appetizer. Something that shouldn't have taken long at all. I felt very disrespected as I was dining by myself. Tempura roll was awful, but tandoori flat bread was amazing!! Had my meal with some punto red wine and overall had myself a decent time. Ill never get over those 40 min tho. Wish I didn't have to pay for the shitty appetizer, But I ate being as hungry as I was. GUESS WHAT! They actually came back with my bill saying the rolls were on the house for that i give them 1 more star. Thank you Joeys for coming thru

Great options for food and drink menu. Service was great and didn't wait too long to get my food/drink. Was disappointed they didn't have Molten Chocolate Cake but the Apple Pie was still good. Definitely would come back again! Seeing the bill at the end when I noticed the Mojito was $11 was quite surprised and if I had known wouldn't pay that much for a drink.

I went for happy hour drinks and snacks at JOEY Eau Claire last night and had an amazing experience thanks to our server, Nicole. She was so friendly and kept our wine glasses topped up at all times. The gyoza and yam fries were delicious, and the Le Fou rose was so good we had to order a second bottle. The manager, Chelsey, also stopped by our table to say hello, which was a really nice touch. I'll definitely be spending a lot of time on the JOEY patio this summer!

The cream rises to the top when faced with adversity. The atmosphere does not smack of pandemic but of hope. The staff are genuinely happy and optimistic. So naturally the food follows. Masks off to the Mgmt and staff for making the world feel normal again. Love it!!
