Joey Meatballs

First time at Joeys Meatballs. I tried the Truffle butter with sausage. It was good and my wife enjoyed the butter and pasta. However it’s a little expensive and the marina sauce for the garlic bread was liquidity. Would consider trying more in the future.

Pasta was good! Gnocchi’s were great!! The food portions are on the smaller size for the prices but the taste of the food made up for it. As a heads up, at this location they automatically add an 18% gratuity onto your order. I found that it’s less expensive to order from DoorDash than it is to walk-in and order.

Hands down, Joey's is one of the top pasta places in the Twin Cities. My wife and I have eaten here many times and will often make the trek to Malcolm Yards for the sole purpose of eating at Joey's. Our favorites are the truffle butter, blondie, and build your own gnocchi with pesto. Service is insanely fast for fresh, made to order pasta dishes.

I have to say that I was a bit esitant, but Joey is a very good pasta place. They quickly prepare for you fresh pasta perfectly "al dente". Highly recommended.

I wasn't expecting a simple order of spaghetti and meatballs to taste so.... delicious! I ordered The Baller and man it did not disappoint! It was packed with flavor and had the perfect ratio of sauce to meat+pasta.

Was very disappointed! Both me and my son had the ravioli and my daughter shrimp scampi. Ravioli out of a can would of been better. My daughter could not eat the shrimp they tasted off. Not often we get out for a family get away. Food is always a thing we look forward to. No where near the $60 we paid for 3 meals. Do not recommend!

I was here a little while ago, and have to say that this was my first time at this location, and partaking in their food. Didn't know what to expect. But, since they had a simple menu it only took like 1 minute to decide. I chose the gnocchi, because it not only looked good, but it was something I've never had before, or at least for a long time. Let me tell you after waiting like 5 to 7 minutes for my food it was so worth it, since it smelled so good. Not only were the portions good sized for what was a regular sized bowl. But, it tasted so good as well. I mean it didn't even cost $10, which is a good price for one person, especially when everything else could be expensive. I have to say that the item to me looked zesty, and something that would make a good lunch/dinner. I will be back, maybe to try a different menu item.

We ordered Joey Meatball for delivery & it held up really well! The prices are a bit expensive, but my food was great. I got: --build your own bowl with: gnocchi, red sauce, mushrooms, & ricotta. The gnocchi was perfect & so tasty, I loved the sauce, & the ricotta is a fun, delicious option. I did get a bit of the ick because the mushrooms are HUGE, but that's on me for not cutting them up. --Caesar salad: this was crisp & delicious with the right proportions of toppings & sauce. My husband got a build your own bowl with fusilli, meat sauce, ricotta, & a meatball. He did end up adding salt & chili flakes, but probably would've liked the red sauce better. All in all, this is spendy but delicious!

It was oka. Honestly, i think i could have gotten something else. This pasta sounded good, i thought that the pasta was going to be more harden, but it was like a pasta that melts in your mouth like a dough. Which i didnt like. I should have gotten the meatball meal. Hopefully next time. The service was ok, it was quick though. The atmosphere was super busy and no where to sit.

I literally just ordered a meatball with sauce and cheese. I was persuaded by the "meatball" in "Joey's meatballs" but was wayyy too full to commit to an entire pasta dish! Their meatballs are handmade - more info on their insta if you're curious! I wasn't a huge fan of seeing very pink meat when I cut into my meatball and it didn't seem very flavorful or well-seasoned. It just tasted like uncooked meat with cheese. The pasta sauce didn't have much flavor either. Maybe I would've had better luck ordering a full dish, but I sincerely thought their specialty would be meatballs since it's the star of their namesake!

I was extremely impressed by the quality of the meals we had at the food hall. Joey Meatballs was no exception. The handmade pasta and meatballs were delicious! Living in a city without a ton of good Italian options, I knew I wanted to try Joey's when we visited the food hall. I was not disappointed. The meatball was perfectly cooked, and I had enough leftovers for a second meal the next day. The dish was seasoned wonderfully and I would order a whole pack of the meatballs to go the next time we swing through.

Pasta was okay, I wasn't a huge fan of the sausage in it. It seems like if you have truffle in something you don't want an overpowering taste like sausage in it.

Caveat: I went to the Joey Meatballs at Potluck but they're the same restaurant and the Malcom Yards location was the only one that came up for me on yelp! Dang this is pretty good! Joey Meatballs makes their pasta in house and the gnocchi is out of this world! We tried the blondie - gnocchi, butter sauce, meatball and cheese. Amazing. The gnocchi was so soft and perfect and delicious. The butter sauce was on point and the meatball was huge! Other than the struggle of cutting down a giant meatball, we loved it! I also got just a rigatoni with half marinara and half Alfredo. It was delish! Not as saucy as I usually prefer, but the flavors were awesome. The one thing that I wasn't a fan of was the service! The gentleman behind the counter was less than friendly, though not intentionally mean. He just seemed like he could care less and that I was bothering him in the middle of his pasta making. I get it, he was getting work done, but it was not a great interaction. Other than that, this stuff is legit and I wish I had some gnocchi to nosh on right now!

The pasta from Joey Meatballs is homemade and perfectly al dente with a luscious tomato sauce studded with chunks of the tastiest tomatoes. So simple: pasta with red sauce. But I actually think it's better than the same dish at Broder's (their sauce isn't as good), and certainly better than the one at Cossetta's (it's mushy and bitter, similar to Sbarro's that used to be at airports). The fusilli has the kind of nice chewy texture that you can only get with properly kneaded dough. The sauce had a well rounded flavor, not too sharp, not too sweet - just right.

OVERALL: Build your own noodles are for kids and adults alike! Do not sleep on Joey Meatballs! SERVICE: I just wanted to say thank you to the kind employees! They were so willing to help make recommendations and answer any questions. FOOD: I am a sucker for pasta and I am especially a fan of house made noodles. I got the "Sauced Noods" because I simply had too much protein at the other vendors but I will be coming back to try the giant meatball! I selected the fusilli noodles with alfredo and pesto. I am the MOST excited about this pesto because it's nut free! This is something that's almost impossible to find in the cities and I'm so grateful for that because my boyfriend has a severe nut allergy. The portion was a great size and it had a great depth of flavor. I loved both the Alfredo and the pesto and neither overpowered each other. PRICE: Honestly, at $9 this dish was an absolute steal. ATMOSPHERE: the fun atmosphere of Malcolm yards! Plenty of seating inside and outside.

The carbonara was WAY too salty it almost hurt my tongue and so overpriced for a small portion. Definitely not worth it.

I decided to try this place after seeing it on either tiktok or tv. Unfortunately, my experience was not amazing. This location is in pot luck, which is located inside the Rosedale Mall. There was a walk up ordering screen, which many places have moved to. I placed my order and went to wait. A man came out and stopped someone from ordering or the screen stating "it's not working right now." Myself and about 4 others noted that we had used the self ordering system. Others also walked up to order off the system and myself and others stopped them since the man had not turned them off or placed a sign up for several minutes. The man who seemed to be a manager(?) physically pushed a lady from the back out front and told her to start taking our orders. He was unbelievably rude to her. He walked into the kitchen area (where you could see) and yelled at the cook. This man was tall, bossy and covered in tattoos. He was so rude to the other 2 hispanic employees that I almost asked for a refund on my food to go somewhere else. A lady standing next to me actually apologized to the woman employee for his behavior, so yes it was that bad. The pasta was ok but nothing to write home about. The meatballs were large, tasty and had a good texture to them. The bread "sticks" were not cut and the bread was almost rubbery. I did not enjoy it. I got alfredo sauce to dip the bread in and it was rich, buttery and tasty! Overall, this was average and given how I watched the employees get treated, I will not be back.

I paid $22 (including a $2 tip) for a small bowl of gnocchi with a large meatball. Like, what?! When I picked it up and saw how little it was, I thought, 'this better be the best gnocchi and meatball I've ever had.' It wasn't. It was mediocre at best. And paying that much for lunch is crazy! Lesson learned.

We always have such a bad experience here. There is so much unknown. The food always takes so long and there is no confirmation. Once the food comes out, we're like, " wow, this is what it takes to eat $24 pasta at Rosedale."

This is a unique find inside a mall. Made fresh, many options to make your dish your own. If you don't want a protein pick the kids noodles. There was a wait, but that was fine since it was made to order and served hot. Definitely not typical mall food!

Average food but a great choice for kids at Malcolm Yards. I do like their format of picking what you want - pasta, sauce and protein. But doing something more adventurous would make it stand out. How about Gorgonzola sauce? The mushrooms are nice but how about some roasted vegetables? The red sauce is adequate (great for kids) but a spicier option would be nice.

(This was at the Roseville location but that wasn't an option) I got chicken alfredo and I was SO disgusted by the chicken. This doesn't even look edible, not to mention this meal was nearly $17.. Won't be back here.

We love Malcom Yards but Joey Meatballs is always the standout. Tonight they gave us a pasta with the wrong sauce but immediately acknowledged the mistake and brought a fresh one to our table and we got to keep the bonus pasta. The truffle butter ravioli and sausage was entirely worth the wait!

The ravioli in butter sauce is amazing. At first they gave us the wrong sauce but they were happy to give us another bowl of ravioli, Great additudes and service. Atmosphere at Malcolm yards is always great.

I'd like to first say that given the fact this restaurant is in a mall, this food was really delicious. I ordered the Blondie, and was pleasantly surprised in the amount of Gnocchi that was in this serving. The food was good, the staff was friendly, and the only reason this did not receive a 5 star rating was due to the silverware that was provided. I think my fork bent in half at least three times and it was a bit distracting figuring out how to eat the food with it. Flavor was excellent!

Roseville store has nobody answering their phones, manning the counter, and they turn off online ordering and/or close early just because they want to. Food was fine but I have a hard time giving my business to a restaurant who doesn't even care enough about their customers to answers phones or be open when they say they will be.

Dominique was great! Excellent service, excellent food, and her recommendations on what to order were very helpful. We left full and happy!

Had the shrimp scampi and truffle butter pasta. Scampi was excellent. Couldn't really pick up any truffle flavor but still very good. Floored when charged $6.06 sales tax on $37.00 (16.38%). Anyone have any insight on this? Do all Rosedale resaurants charge this?

I was here a little while ago, stopping here for dinner. Of all the places in the food court/hall this was a pretty good choice. I mean, I didn't know what to expect as it was something I wanted to try, but haven't been to yet. After perusing the menu for like a minute I decided on the Big Tony. It not only looked appealing, but zesty as well. Of course once I ordered it took 5 to 7 minutes to get my order. Which actually isn't pretty bad, considering how busy it seemed. Once I got my food it made for a good dinner right than and there. Plus, when I got home I was able to finish it off. Even though the bowl was regular sized, there was plenty of flavor. They didn't skimp on the meat, goncchi, or even on the parmesan cheese. I would say that throughout the dish, the ingredients were pretty much spread evenly, which you don't always see. So kudos to the employees since they really do it right. So good to go back again sometime soon. Maybe even to try yet another dish.

I was very excited to oder their focaccia because it was advertised as vegan. When I got it I saw cheese on it, so I asked the staff if it's parmesan and they said "yeah, sorry." I'm sure the food is great, but I'm very disappointed that they falsely advertised their menu and I lost out on $5.

nothing special. picking your pasta is not a new concept. way too expensive. poor customer service and management. the one star is for the aesthetic. Noodles & Company is better!!
