"Stalwart Canadian casual eatery Joey, which opened its first location in Calgary nearly three decades ago, is headed to Houston. Joey Restaurants CEO Jeff Fuller confirmed the chain’s plans to expand to Texas (among other locales) to Canadian business news publication Biv on Wednesday. As for where it will end up? A tipster pointed Eater in the direction of construction permit applications filed in December that indicate that it will open in the Westheimer Road space that currently houses Yauatcha, the glitzy Galleria dim sum restaurant operated by the Hakkasan Group that’s set to close on February 16. For those who are unfamiliar with Joey, the chain currently operates more than two dozen locations across Canada and the United States, including outposts in Seattle and Los Angeles. The menus for other Joey locations span a variety of influence, from Mediterranean hummus to sushi to Baja chicken tacos and “Bollywood” butter chicken. Upbeat restaurant with great service for groups who wish to dine together. I was a concerned about having my birthday dinner here because of the size of my party but the server was amazing, gave recommendations from the menu and most of all had a great attitude working with a party of 13 people. I think our server name was Terrell. Upon entering we received complementary champagne which was semi sweet, crisps and tasty. Old fashion drink was mixed well and my chicken lettuce wraps were delicious and filling. Wings were good and had a nice smoked flavor. The thing that I enjoyed most was music was playing but everyone was still able to have a conversation and hear each other.

Consistently delicious! I’ve been here a few times, and have never been disappointed. Great for a special occasion. Beautiful outdoor patio, seating, and sumptuous interior. I am obsessed with the.l Julian Opie digital art display. Must try the wings and the Korean cauliflower bites.

I found the staff at Joey Uptown very professional and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing. From our apps to our dinner to our drinks to finally our dessert, I have nothing but good things to say. I will definitely return as there are too many delicious options for one night.

I still talk about the dish I had even after a couple months. Really amazing experience in here. You get a welcome champagne drink, and it’s the First place I had ‘old fashion’ liqueur. The chicken was so soft with great veggies. Can’t really remember the name but maybe the picture could help anyone hoping to have the same. Also had one of the best dumplings here.

A very interesting combination of foods there. The fried with truffle was imagined. I have the steak with ravioli and shrimp, an interesting combination, and really enjoy it. Our waitress, Liz, was excellent, friendly, patient, and helpful. Sure will be back try out different dishes.

They’re quite a few things that I wanna mention. First let’s go over the good period I absolutely loved the apple pie. It was crunchy. It was flaky. It was tasty. Yum. What was interesting is that the waitress said “we serve it with a steak knife because the bottom is pretty hard and of “. That’s quite odd considering this is considered an upscale restaurant. I wonder doesn’t the management know that for desserts are different types of knives and forks and spoons. Next I had ravioli, which was absolutely amazing. And steak that was below average. Out of what you see on the pictures Only three were edible. Because the rest was cut wrong or was a bad part of me. At this level of a restaurant I would expect to be asked is everything OK at least once when I ate. None of that happened. The waitress was busy with guests on the second table, sharing her phone number and email. And laughing possibly they were her friends. But I was ignored. I didn’t receive my dessert after I finished my food for over half an hour. At an upscale restaurant the expectations are higher especially for two dishes I paid over $56. Will I be back I don’t know.

Good place for a delicious lunch. Got seated quickly and the server was very attentive and nice. The food came out a bit slow but it was delicious and everything came out fresh. The place is beautiful and massive with plenty of seating everywhere. They have valet for your convenience.

Food is excellent with impeccable service. Great place for date nights. Overall a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended. 😊 I would advise you to reserve a table before going to avoid the long wait. Plenty of parking is available. Valet parking is also available at $15.
