The 24 Best Restaurants in Houston

"Executive chef Chris Mills and Matthew Stowe know what they're doing; the menu's influences are global, from Mediterranean hummus to Szechuan tofu and Japanese gyoza. There is something to please every globetrotter here, from truffle fries to sushi—and it is in this sense that JOEY's Uptown sets its tone apart from others. The menu features Italian pasta, including a steak and lobster ravioli. The execution—for all the varied dishes—is on point, and items like the roasted corn guacamole are a standout, as are the poke bowls. The large 8,434-square-foot restaurant interior is decidedly green, with plant accents, leather seating, and a living green ceiling. The patio features a retractable roof and is a stunning place to watch the weather change with a glass of wine." - Charu Suri, Diana Oates

Laid-Back Canadian Restaurant Joey Opens at Houston’s Galleria in July | Eater Houston

"A Canadian restaurant group is opening its first Texas outpost near the Galleria on July 28 in a luxe 10,288-square-foot space that previously housed a glitzy dim sum spot that closed in February 2020. The interior was significantly revamped to include a large, climate-controlled patio with a retractable roof and a dining room finished in natural materials—woods, concrete, brushed brass, terrazzo, and leather—plus a “living” green ceiling; the walls are decorated with prints by Texas artist Jon Flaming and portraits by U.K. painter Julian Opie. Founded in Alberta in 1992 as an Italian restaurant before evolving into a casual, globally influenced eatery, the group now operates about 30 locations across Canada and the U.S. The menu ranges widely, from Korean-fried cauliflower and roasted corn guacamole to sushi rolls and hearty entrees like butter chicken, sake-glazed Chilean sea bass, and steak served with prawn-and-lobster–stuffed ravioli. Drinks include slushy, citrusy highballs, signature cocktails such as the Leading Lady (Absolut peach vodka, sparkling wine, rosemary, grapefruit, and egg white), and a lengthy wine list." - Amy McCarthy

Someone Tried to Smuggle a Meth-Stuffed Breakfast Taco Through Houston’s Hobby Airport | Eater Houston

"A Calgary-based fast-casual chain planning its first Texas location in the Galleria later this summer; the varied menu ranges from Szechuan chicken lettuce wraps to steak and lobster ravioli and sushi cones. The restaurant will occupy the space formerly held by dim sum spot Yauatcha, with an exact opening date yet to be announced." - Brittanie Shey

A Canadian Eatery Called Joey Will Take Over the Galleria Space Vacated By Yauatcha | Eater Houston

"I've learned that Joey is a stalwart Canadian casual eatery that opened its first location in Calgary nearly three decades ago and is now headed to Houston: CEO Jeff Fuller confirmed the chain’s expansion to Texas to Canadian business news publication Biv. Construction permit applications filed in December point to the Westheimer Road space currently housing Yauatcha as the likely site. The chain operates more than two dozen locations across Canada and the U.S., including Seattle and Los Angeles, and its menus span a variety of influences — from Mediterranean hummus to sushi to Baja chicken tacos and “Bollywood” butter chicken. There's no firm opening date yet, but its arrival is reportedly “close.”" - Amy McCarthy

I had an exceptional experience at JOEY Uptown. From the moment I walked in, the service was impressive. Casey, the manager, welcomed me with genuine professionalism and warmth, which immediately set a positive tone for the evening. Our server, Gentri, delivered truly outstanding service attentive, knowledgeable, and consistently ensuring everything was perfect throughout my meal. It’s rare to receive service that feels this seamless. The highlight of my visit was the spicy crab dip, which was absolutely incredible. It’s a dish I will continue to rave about. Overall, JOEY Uptown exceeded my expectations in every way. I will absolutely return each time I’m in Houston.

We recently had a business dinner at Joey Uptown with a party of eight, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Our server, Jorge G. was fantastic attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the evening. I ordered the steak and frites with filet mignon, and it was phenomenal tender, perfectly cooked, and practically melted in my mouth. One of my colleagues had the sake-glazed Chilean sea bass with vegetables, and every bite was bursting with flavor. Another coworker raved about the butternut squash ravioli topped with shrimp and steak, calling it the best ravioli she’s ever had. For dessert, we tried the butter cake and Jorge generously brought us a complimentary crème brûlée since the molten chocolate cake and tap that cake weren’t available. Both desserts were delicious and a perfect way to end the meal. From the warm service to the impressive food, Joey Uptown is a must-try spot in Houston. Whether you're dining for business or pleasure, this place delivers. We’ll absolutely be back!

I recently visited Joey’s Uptown to celebrate my birthday, and from the moment we walked in, everything was phenomenal. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the greeting at the door set the tone for a fantastic evening. At our table, we were greeted by Amy—I’m not sure of her exact title, but she seemed to be an area manager. Amy was incredibly kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain the menu and cocktail options to us, which made our choices so much easier. Our server, Ben, was also excellent and attentive throughout the night. We ordered the Cajun Blackened Chicken, which was absolutely delicious, and for dessert, we tried both the Butter Cake and the Crème Brûlée. The butter cake, in particular, was out of this world—melt-in-your-mouth perfection! When Amy found out we were celebrating a birthday, she surprised us with a special treat, which made the evening even more memorable. On our way out, she personally thanked us and invited us to come back, which was such a thoughtful touch. If you visit Joey’s Uptown, ask for Amy—she’s an absolute delight and truly embodies exceptional hospitality. We can’t wait to return!

Google
Joey Uptown delivered an unforgettable first impression. From the moment my girlfriends and I arrived, we were treated like honored guests—welcomed with a glass of champagne and seated without delay. The atmosphere was chic yet inviting, the perfect backdrop for a celebratory night out. Our server, Sierra S., was the heart of our experience. Her attention to detail was extraordinary—she asked about allergies and dietary preferences with genuine concern, offered thoughtful menu suggestions, and ensured every moment of our evening was seamless. Her warmth and professionalism made us feel not just cared for, but truly valued. David, the manager, added another layer of excellence. His multiple check-ins weren’t intrusive—they were reassuring. Clearing dishes promptly and ensuring the flow of the evening stayed uninterrupted speaks to a leadership style that values both efficiency and guest satisfaction. Joey Uptown isn’t just a place to dine—it’s a place where your taste buds and culinary experience is elevated to greater heights.”

I celebrated my birthday at Joey Uptown, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was vibrant yet classy—perfect for a special occasion. Our server Angelina went above and beyond to make the night memorable. She was friendly, attentive, and made excellent recommendations that did not disappoint. Every dish came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Angelina’s warm personality and professionalism truly elevated the evening—she made me feel celebrated! I couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning soon and recommending Joey Uptown to all my friends. We had an amazing experience at Joey Uptown while celebrating my friend’s birthday! Angelina made the night absolutely perfect. From the moment we sat down, her warm energy and exceptional service stood out. She gave the best recommendations, checked on us at all the right moments, and made sure the birthday girl felt so special. Our drinks were great, the food was delicious, and Angelina’s professionalism and friendliness took everything to the next level. You can truly tell she enjoys what she does. Came to Joey Uptown for the first time and had a 1000/10 experience!!! Brought my mom for her birthday and they gave us the best most special treatment. I have no complaints. Everything was cooked to perfection. Meals, Service, Atmosphere 10/10. Our server Juan was very helpful, answered all our questions and made sure to check in. The manager David checked on us to ensure we had a great meal (which we did!). Amy especially treated us amazingly, with complimentary bottle and desserts for mom’s birthday. I’m so happy I chose Joey! They deserve 5 stars across the board. Amazing for a special occasion.

Bryce was our server, and he was by far one of the best I’ve encountered in customer service in a long time. His personality was phenomenal-welcoming, genuine, and down-to-earth. As it was my first visit, he took the time to recommend food and drink options, which we truly appreciated. We were celebrating our engagement, and the experience made it even more special. Our table was beautifully decorated with rose petals and a bottle of champagne! Such a thoughtful touch! Thank you, Bryce and Joey Uptown, for the exceptional service. We will absolutely be returning!

Yelp
I'm definitely a fan of JOEY. Came for lunch and was greeted with complimentary champagne. To start, my friend and I shared the spicy crab dip which was great -- just was a missing a bit of the spice aspect. For my main, I got the steak and ravioli which was light and perfect for a lunch meal. I even had leftovers! The ladies at the bar were great and the service was top tier!! I'll definitely be back for happy hour.

Yelp
I have been to the Joey in downtown LAand this suffers from the same issue. Too focused on Instagram and not enough on the food. I had a fantastic old fashioned but our server didn't know which spirts were a rye or a bourbon on the menu. I had to ask for water. The food was fine but it isnt outstanding. Youre paying here to try and look good on socials.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant design with great service. If you're early or delayed in sitting down, they might offer you a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. I have to go 4 stars because the food didn't hit 100%. Bang Ban chicken was ok (3/5). The hit of the night was the Crab dip (5/5). Second best was the ravioli (without steak). We devoured it. We were warned that the kitchen is small and they aren't the best with steaks. Confirmed. My wife's filet medium rare was over. They said they can't do Pittsburgh style - charred outside, rare inside (black and blue). My Steak Sushi was ok. Salmon roll had an off ratio. Too much rice versus salmon but the flavors were there. So I just ate half the rice on each piece. I had the same cooking issue with my tataki steak - over. Could have been the night.

Yelp
We loved the ambience! I ordered the lobster pasta and the side salad...and the table had the lettuce wraps as an appetizer. They were delicious but spicy. Others at the table had the salmon, the wings, and the Mediterranean bowl. Everyone thought the food was very well done.

Yelp
I loved the atmosphere dim lighting so nice for pictures. The food was good however it was kind of like warm but the flavors were there. So i know if it was super fresh it would've been perfect. Our server was attentive and kept the table up to date.

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorite places to splurge! Complimentary champagne upon arrival, floor to ceiling glass windows, sleek n chic decor - JOEY Uptown eminates class. The ambiance is incredible; this restaurant gives you a reason to show up and show out. I personally love coming here for special occasions and date nights. Needless to say, everything is aethetically pleasing, including the food. Against all odds, the food tastes as good as it looks (which is incredibly hard to come by nowadays). The menu has a wide variety of items with an emphasis on my 2 favorites: Italian and Asian cuisine. My all-time favorite dishes had to be the Scallop & Prawn Ceviche, Sake Glazed Chilean Sea Bass, and pretty much any sushi roll. All of my friends agreed that pretty much every dish we ordered was delicious, perfectly cooked to temp, and bursting with flavor. The only critque being that the Lobster Spaghetti could use more lobster for as expensive as it is. The service started off really well, as our server got us situated and took care of all our orders. (I forget her name but she was blonde) However, towards the halfway through dinner, she started to fizz out and not come to our table. I had to ask for wasabi 3 separate times. By the time it got to the table I'd finished 3/4 of my sushi roll already. We'd also spot her standing in the corner chatting with other servers whenever we'd need her. Overall, everything was a 10/10 aside from the service. Our party didn't appreciate her phazing out just because we were auto-gradded. Food: 10/10, Drinks: 10/10, Ambiance10/10. Hopefully the service was just a fluke, but I'd highly reccomend this to everyone.

Yelp
What a world-class experience at this location... We are frequently visiting Joeys at several locations in California. We felt welcomed to this location from Chloe A. and David. They gave a special presentation for visiting their location for the first time. Great customer service!

Yelp
Joey Uptown is beautiful. The decor is fresh and freeing and spacious. However, the flavors of the appetizers and entrees are pretty basic to me. Additionally, the things I actually wanted to try, food AND drink options, were either no longer menu items or they didn't have any left that day. (Which was a bit weird considering we arrived at noon and stayed until 3:00 p.m.) Boooooo. I opted to have the frozen lemonade and the seared salmon sushi. The frozen lemonade tasted as good as you can imagine. It was sweet and refreshing, but nothing out of the ordinary from common chain restaurant. The sushi was an osaka pressed, fire torched salimon with umami sauce, and shaved serrono peppers. It wasn't bad but it's not something I would ever order again. It was a dry taste with really mild flavors so it kind of felt like a waste of money. This is not to say I would never come back again. Our servers were polite and patient and the other ladies in my party loved their choices. I'll come back and just try something else!

Yelp
From the hostess to our server Collin and the night manager David our service was excellent. The complimentary bubbles set the tone, and just put us in a mindset to relax and enjoy the vibes. We had the spicy crab dip to start. It was delicious just not as spicy as I would like. The crusty grilled baguette made up for it. I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl and my friend got the Blackened Chicken. Both were tasty and delicious. I really loved the crispy chickpeas. It added so much texture to this dish. I did steal a bite of the blackened chicken it was seasoned well and the potato salad was intriguing. It was a version I never had, but do want to try again. We ordered a bottle of prosecco which topped off our diner quite well. All in all great night. Please pull up. Reservations are encouraged.

Yelp
The food was very good, service was great as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my quick "brunch" at my stop to the mall. The lemonade was very good. I loved the hibachi wings. I also had a Mediterranean Bowl, the best way to describe it is a fresher version of a cava bowl. The rice and arugula hit well. The hummus was so tasty. I wouldn't mind returning to try a few other items on the menu. I love an open view kitchen. I really wanted to just stand and watch them work.

Yelp
My first experience with this franchise was in LA and it's clear the H-town location is the place to see and be seen. About a 2 hour wait on a Saturday night -we left and returned and were seated around 9:30-still hopping at this time. Same here as in LA-being greeted with a complimentary Bubbly (Cava?) was a nice touch. We started with cocktails-my Manhattan was tasty and a few from our party ordered draft beers and enjoyed them. I ordered the sake Glazed Chilean Sea Bass and it was scrumptious-cooked perfectly and delicious. Spaghetti Pomodoro, Steak Frites, Grilled Chicken Club and Burger were also enjoyed. Service was fun and attentive. Our Server took great care of us. Fun/lively atmosphere with tasty food-we will be back!

Yelp
JOEY Uptown is one of my favs but today was extra special. We celebrated a promotion that my friend recently received and Kevin, our waiter, went above and beyond. He had an off-menu celebratory cocktail made for us! This is such a fun spot no matter the occasion.
google avatar

Yelp
Recently visited for a friend's birthday. We were immediately greeted with complimentary champagne. Our server Justice was amazing and very attentive. We did have a small hiccup with my steak. I ordered medium, it came out well done. I was really impressed with the way they handled it though. Justice immediately took care of it and told their Manager, Abby. They remade it, and I didn't even wait for 10 mins and it was cooked perfectly. We had hummus, spicy crab dip, and the bang bang chicken for apps. They were amazing! Parking is not great though. It is the galleria so hard to find parking, but you can always valet for $12 I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Emmy S.

Yelp
Service was amazing everyone that helped our group was very attentive and helpful when it came down to ordering entrees. The apps were also VERY DELICIOUS and quite filling! I'm still thinking about that pita bread and hummus! My entree though wasnt my favorite, but thats no one else's fault but mine's. Will be back forsure.

Yelp
Coming in I feel like you're instantly hit with an upscale dining, yet comfortable feel. The aesthetics of the restaurant are very nice, but it doesn't have the overbearing that some finer dining places may have. While waiting to be seated you're offered complimentary champagne, which is nice. The restaurant is situated at an interesting location, as it's at the Galleria, but not in the Galleria. It's its own building but on the Galleria lot, so you can pull up directly to Joey or walk from inside the mall and be in Joey's in a few steps. Before getting to my food, one of my only complaints was that it was a bit warm in the restaurant. It has large windows that provide a nice view of the area but where we were seated was too warm for my liking. The person I was with had been there before and they recommended the Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wraps and they were really good for a shared appext. It had a nice sweet glaze that complimented the other flavors very well. Overall it had a nice subtle and refreshing taste. I had the Strawberry Cool for a drink, which I believe is essentially a mocktail, and it was cool. For my main dish I had these Steak and Ravioli Blanco. It's also available on the menu under starters and I consider getting it as an appetizer but I'm glad I stuck with it as a main. The dish was really good, and just like everything else I had, it felt lightweight. I would have liked it to have been a bit more decadent but I'm not mad at it. The steak was cooked very well and so was everything else in the dish. I had some of my friend's steak frites meal, and I would possibly say it was more flavorful than what I had, but I enjoyed my meal better. Overall I would say that the food here is very good. Nothing I had made me particularly wowed me where I felt like I just have to come back here but also nothing was bad to make me not want to come back. The whole staff was pleasant and helpful. If I come here again I would like to try something new on their menu because they do have a wide variety of different items.

Yelp
I've head all the great things that there is to hear about Joey Uptown. My first time coming was for my birthday back in November because they have a few of my all time favorite things. Espresso martini, steak frites, truffle parmesan fries! How can you go wrong with either of those combos! My first experience here was just ok. I feel that it was a little too hyped up for me, and that service-wise and food-wise, that I had had better. The espresso martini was good for me the first go round, but nothing that had me like WOW! And the steak frites was the same. The steak was just ok, and the parm on the fries felt like it was pre-shredded, not fresh, and didn't really add any value to the plate itself. All in all, my first trip here was probably a 3 out of 5. But!!! I came back for Mother's Day. I was a bit hesitant, if I'm being honest, but I am glad that I did! I didn't drink on this day, but I ordered dessert first, the molten cake, which was delictable. The chocolate cake was warm, and the chocolate oozed out and went great with the vanilla ice cream! The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely this go round also, and the fries a lot better (more fresh)! The service was phenomenal. We had an excellent server who took wonderful care of us throughout our whole visit. He made sure our drinks were always filled, that plates were cleared from the table, and to ensure we had everything we needed. It was a great way to represent the service I know this place has to offer, which is why I believe everyone likes it so much here!

Yelp
This is my second visit to JOEY Uptown. On the first visit, I was with family celebrating a birthday. The food was surprisingly good, when I expected a version of upscale bland. Today, I've ordered the Katsu Chicken Salad. For reference, today I'm a party of 1 and starving after having fasted for annual bloodwork. I was seated promptly in the bar area at a relatively quiet bar top table. Upon arrival, I was offered sparkling wine Alana came over to check on me, provided my choice of water and took my order. Food arrived relatively quickly (which was a major win because remember I've been fasting). It was good! Nice solid, fresh salad lots of spice. The only downfall of JOEY is the small European water glasses. We're in Texas. Please bring me a regular people glass of water and let me be great and healthy. And I hope JOEY joins the inKind family!

Yelp
A friend and I ate here on a Friday. We parked in the parking garage next to the restaurant. We had a 8pm reservation, but still found ourselves waiting 30 plus minutes to be seated. The entrance is small and had several patrons waiting to be seated. Some guests were given champagne for their wait. The restaurant is dark and sultry at night. Once seated the waiter was kind and knowledgeable. The food presentation was visually pleasing along with the taste. Everything we chose was delicious and hard to pick a favorite. The price point is kind of expensive, but worth every penny. For a girls night out or date night, I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Service 10/10 Food 100/10 Ambiance 10/10 (hello free champagne!!) DELICIOUS Also my friend left a bracelet and they called us to let us know? Umm what that's amazing of them. Loved this place definitely going back. The steak and ravioli was the best. Do be warned that these were tequila espresso martinis and they were $30 each

Yelp
A great date choice! We went the Saturday before Mother's Day and just like any other day it was packed. When we arrived, valet was full, so we luckily found a park in the adjacent open lot and it was $12 to park. We were greeted immediately and offered champagne. We were seated shortly after our reservation time. The service was great, our server was attentive, made great suggestions and was very personable. We had the crab dip as an appetizer and it was pretty good, probably wouldn't order it again. The blackened chicken was good and lot of flavor. The star of the meal was the chocolate soufflé. It was light paired well with the ice cream and raspberry sauce. Over all everything is good but I would try different dishes next time.
google avatar

Yelp
I had an amazing lunch at Joey Uptown. The ambiance is amazing during the day, beautiful lighting and windows and for how big it is it never was too loud. We started off with the ceviche which in my opinion was just okay. It was beautifully plated but not something I would order again. The udon carbonara was SO good. I'm still thinking about that dish and recommending to everyone. It was very rich and so delicious. I also tried a bite of the steak and ravioli and that dish also did not disappoint. I've heard the lettuce wraps are really good so I hope to go back and try those soon. I loved the espresso martini with vanilla added and the butter cake was a lovely ending to a great meal.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Cole was extremely professional and the food was great! Everything came out fast and wonderful. Cole did a great job serving and communicating the items that were available and connecting with us with great recommendations. I came here to celebrate my birthday with my friend who I have not seen in years. We walked in and had such a great experience the entire time from start to finish. The manager David as well assured the meals and drinks were prepared to our liking. I absolutely would recommend coming in and trying some of the items. The fresh plants everywhere make the space so beautiful and earthy.
google avatar

Sabrina M.

Yelp
Almost a five star experience except a few things. We had dinner reservations at 7:30 and didn't get seated until closer to 8. That was a bit disappointing. We ordered the blackened chicken with no pork and it came out with pork in it. The waitress offered to make a fully new one, which she did. But it took much longer than when the food first came out and she didn't offer any comp for it. That was disappointing. Other than that the vibes were amazing! Food was really good as well. 5/5 on all the food! Overall, I would go there again!

Madasyn E.

Yelp
Jorge G was amazing & always love the food ! As a Houston native this has been a staple since my first visit.

Yelp
You walk in. "Would you like a complimentary glass of champagne?" Um, yes please! So friendly from the moment you walk in! The place is huge and very nice. The staff is sleekly dressed and super attentive. They don't miss a beat. Not a long wait at all! I got the JOEY cheeseburger. It's a smash burger with two patties, cheese, fresh shredded lettuces, tomatoes, onions. It was delicious. Comes with a side of fries. I think there's a choice of side. Can't remember what the others were but the fries were good! Everyone else enjoyed their meals too. The appetizers were good too. The spicy crab dip was certainly spicy and delicious. The wings were good too!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was so yummy and service was even better I really loved every bite I had! Also I loved that you get a glass of bubbly upon entrance I can't believe I haven't been here before now!

Yelp
Joey Uptown was a really cool vibe! I was invited here for happy hour. After a long week, it was much needed! We really enjoyed our dining experience. I ordered the hummus and pita chips and the seared salmon sushi. Both very good choices from their hh menu. Our waiter made sure we were taken care of. When you arrive, the host/hostess offers a glass of champagne. Very nice welcome in! I will return.

Yelp
Made reservations. We have been herr several times Entrance: splash of champagne While waiting Food: always fresh and hot Drinks: good taste, not much liquor Ambiance: welcoming. Cozy. Romantic setting. Parking: not great. Valet

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining at this nice spot for late lunch. They greeted you w l complimentary glass of champagne for their HH which I thought was nice. I was solo and still had a short 5 In wait. I was going to hit the bar which was open but opted for a table given the short wait and I wasn't in the social mood. Bar wasn't full but occupied w people dressed in suits to smart casual attire. The ordered the grilled chicken club and the waiter recommended I get it blackened as that's how he orders it, gives more flavor. It was delicious. Also had truffle fries they were good. All in all of you are in Houston at the galleria check his place out.

Yelp
Joey Uptown is my favorite spot for Chicken Parmesan! It may not be what they are known for but if you go here you need to try their Chicken Parmesan especially if you like pasta and cheese. Their best appetizer is the chicken lettuce wraps & their carpaccio! So yummy definitely worth trying What we ordered : Chicken Parmesan 10/10 Lettuce wraps 10/10 Carpaccio 9/10 Wings 6/10 dry rub so not saucy, I prefer sauce so I ordered a side of the lettuce wrap chicken sauce

Yelp
Hailing from Canada, JOEY is one of the upscale chain restaurants in the Galleria area, alongside places like Nobu, Oceanaire and others. Despite a few dozen locations across Canada and United States, many will not have heard of this restaurant group and that is a bummer as JOEY is quite excellent. The complimentary welcome drink with a cava from Sigura Veudas is a unique touch. One does not really see that outside of Michelin restaurants or luxury hotels. There is a spacious waiting area behind the host stand giving ample space to sit down, enjoy the drink and watch the kitchen while a table is prepared. When it comes to the menu, the best way to describe it is "eclectic." Intense fusions of world cuisines result in menu items like Ravioli served with steak or sushi. It's interesting without doubt, but what's even more surprising is that the fusions crafted here actually work and are very tasty. The steak on top of the ravioli was tender and flavorful, together combining into a very filling portion. More classic items like salmon with fresh peas and sprouts are also spectacular. Thus, a very enjoyable meal is easy to have here. Our waitress was pleasant and all staff appeared very efficient. There did not seem to be a dress code here as everyone dressed in their own style, so it is best described as a trend driven mixture of casual or club like attire, while some business folks show up in suits. JOEY is a great addition to the Galleria area and a true pleasure to visit.

Yelp
I just loved the service . My server was so kind and helpful. I would just go back again for her service . Food is good and same taste as other location of Joey. Ambiance is peaceful with enough lights had lot of plants which I just loved. It was giving fresh and refreshing vibes. I was offered a champine while we were waiting for table . Server accidentally miscommunication added chicken in my Tofu wrap so she immediately replaced and she brought brocalli for the additional time I had to wait. Loved the place just loved it

Yelp
Checked in at the hostess stand around 5:40.. for reservations for 6p and was given a complementary drink. I let her know that I'll take a bar seat if possible instead of taking space at a table, she acknowledged me told me to wait behind her for a seat and that she will let me know.. 6:21 rolls around and I get up to ask how much longer. She let me know that they are still waiting for seating at the bar i let her know that I'll take a table b/c it's been awhile .. 6:34 rolls around and i finally have a seat by the patio door that constantly opens.. it's now 6:52 and i have yet to meet my server, she came over a moment later When i finally got to see someone and order the food comes out and I'm not expecting a lot of food but enough food especially for the price. The food was warm, the broccolini was hard the drinks weren't strong and they all came in short glasses for 15 + dollars.. There was a mix up with the steak and lobster.. which the lobster is separate.. and it dosent say that smh so I ended up paying extra for it when the steak meal *pictured* was already 63. In the end two drinks later and my food I ended up paying 164.00, parking was 12.00 and 13.00 because I used a card and I also added a 3 dollar tip. Overall this experience was 0 out of 10..

Yelp
Service is first rate. They hand you a glass of champagne when you walk in the door. (Nice touch) Remington was our server, and he was fast, friendly, and very helpful. The atmosphere is "Instagram worthy", modern, classy, and full of very nicely dressed, attractive people. The food is top notch, well presented, and nicely seasoned. The overall experience is a solid 4.5 stars. Perfect date night restaurant.

Yelp
I stopped in for happy hour at JOEY and the food was good! It was happy hour so I ordered the margarita and guacamole combo along with chicken lettuce wraps. The food and drink were really tasty and flavorful. I sat at the bar and it was a bit fussy. Although the bartender was cordial, he seemed more interested in socializing with other patrons than taking my order. The restaurant was beautiful and I would definitely return in the future. I will likely just sit at a table for a better experience.

Yelp
This restaurant is so aesthetically pleasing and the service and food quality is always great but Jorge was my server tonight and I had the best experience thus far since I first started coming here 2 years ago. Definitely gonna be my new server request.

Yelp
Service was 5 Star. When you visit Joey Uptown ask for Kevin he is attentive and was on point every time our table needed assistance. Amy the guest service manager was excellent also.

Yelp
Chose Joey Uptown at the Galleria in Houston to meet up with a friend I haven't seen in about 15 years! It was the perfect spot to reconnect, enjoy a meal, and plan for the future. Upon arrival, just as other Joey locations, we are greeted by a kind host who offers a complimentary flute of champagne. I opted in, and was generously seated at a booth. The ambiance is upscale with a casual twist. A nice place to dress up, or visit in athleisure for brunch, as I have done both in the past. We ordered salad and tacos, and were not disappointed. As a very sweet touch, our waitress gifted us with a complimentary desert, to celebrate our birthdays and reconnection. Very thoughtful, and speaks to their attentiveness! I always look forward to Joey and of course will not hesitate to revisit, especially since it is conveniently located in the heart of the shopping and restaurant area!!

Yelp
Visited Joey Uptown for the first time last week (1/16/25). The ambiance is fantastic and the hours are great for those that are looking for a nice place to eat after 10pm. The waiter (Juan) was extremely patient and professional. Unfortunately that is where the highlights concluded. While the presentation of the ribeye was fantastic, the flavor profile was lacking and the meat was tough. Not what I expected from a $96 steak. The Tomahawk Steak @ Carrabba's cost the same and runs circles around Joey's ribeye. Adding insult to injury the Press Sushi provided some of the worst food poisoning I've ever experienced. I lost nearly 8lbs of body weight in less than 24hrs and spent the majority of the day heaving my guts out. Before writing this review I called the restaurant trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. After 3 attempts I was directed to a manager whom took my information down to file an incident report. She was kind and professional following Joey's restaurant policy to the letter. Unfortunately there policy is essentially an apology but we hope you come back. I did mention that I told my coworkers and neighbors I had food poisoning but left Joey Uptown's name out of it bc I wanted to give the restaurant the opportunity to make it right. After spending nearly $300 for 2 people & $40 @ the valet I was not offered any compensation for the Press Sushi and was not offered any incentive to return. I understand that mistakes happen but when a customer gets sick enough to contemplate going to the hospital an apology isn't going to cut it. This review is a result of the owner hiding behind managment to avoid any type of negative backlash. My neighbors are all working professionals. Several of these companies use restaurants like Joey Uptown to conduct cooperate events and catering. I'm afraid I cannot recommend Joey Uptown after this horrendous outcome. Proceed with caution and be wary of the sushi.

Yelp
Joey never disappoints, I've gone to multiple locations and this was just as good as the others. With bubbles upon arrival, and with reservations, expecting to be seated quickly. This location is perfect for date night, they have a tvs at the bar so you won't miss out on any games. Server was great and attentive. Celebrating as newlyweds, they treated us with dessert. The sea bass was delicious, typically I go for NY strip but wasn't disappointed by the filet. I'll be back to visit one of the locations soon.

Yelp
Had a large group dinner here and everyone found something they liked!! Loved the champagne greeting as we walked in, and our waitress was fantastic at ensuring we all had anything we needed. Only thing I don't love is the parking situation but we made it work.

Yelp
BE CAREFUL - THEY WILL DOUBLE CHARGE YOU!!!! Absolutely the worst experience that I have ever had with a restaurant. I stopped here for lunch on a work trip. I ordered ceviche and a salad for $65. The ipad they used said my corporate card was declined, so we ran it a 2nd time. It processed the 2nd time. HOWEVER, BOTH CHARGES are now on my card. So, instead of $65, they charged me $130 for a salad and ceviche!!!!! I called multiple times and they said they don't see the 1st charge went through. I disputed with my credit card and now Joey Uptown is claiming that I owe both charges. BEWARE - THEY ARE EVIL AND WILL CHARGE YOU TWICE. Time to contact the BBB! They just lost me and my company as clients for this one. I will ensure no one from my company (fortune 5) does business with this restaurant.
