JOEY Valley Fair

I came to JOEY for lunch right before New Year’s Eve. Elizabeth was my server, and she provided attentive service throughout the meal. The Steak & Ravioli Bianco had a rich texture with a well-balanced sauce. The Truffle Parmesan Fries offered a perfect combination of crispiness and aroma. The Truffle Udon Carbonara was flavorful, though it could be improved slightly by being less salty. I also enjoyed JOEY’s interior design, both in the dining area and in the restroom. Overall, it was a great experience.

My friends and I decided to finally give Joey Valley Fair a try, it’s been open for a couple of months and it’s always super busy. The few occasions that we tried walking up, it would be a couple of hours of wait so we always end up giving up. This time we made a reservation to celebrate our purchase of a new home. When we first got there, we were provided some nonalcoholic sparkling iced tea while we wait for our table to be ready. The place was very vibey, great place for hanging out with friends or a girls night out. We waited for around 15mins and were provided a booth seat right by the open kitchen which was nice and cozy. Everything on the menu looked amazing but we settled for the famous spicy crab dip, truffle udon carbonara, ravioli blanca with steak and seared salmon sushi combo with steak. The food came relatively quick, the plating was pretty and the food portions was decent. The flavours though were amazing! I would say it was more like a fun sharing place where everyone orders something different and share everything. Overall, the food and the service was great, highly recommended!

Ambiance: love the vibe here! The lights, paintings on the wall, talkative and attentive staffs, interiors designs are all shouting chill vibe. Might not be suitable for couples who wish to talk and enjoy quiet private date, but definitely recommend to gatherings either friends or family! Food: It was a company holiday dinner, so we tried a couple of appetizers. They are all very tasty, especially the Korean cauliflower and gyoza, but a bit too salty. I ordered the steak & lobster pasta. The sauce is a bit spicy and that brings the dish to another level! The steak was medium but a bit too dry and chewy. Desserts are just on the okay side. The cocktails are fantastic and definitely recommend trying some of them. Service: our table staff Sean (or Shawn?) was fantastic. Provide water, take orders at the perfect timing, and also very attentive to make sure we’re happy with our orders even ti he’s about to clock off.

Very nice and I would say high end restaurant. The place is clean, modern and very well arranged. Great designer. It feels very open but there is a glass wall so it's indoor. However, I felt the place was kept a bit too cold inside. Our main waitress (Jennifer L) was very attentive and proactive. She did a good job. The food was GREAT. Every dish came out was good. I had medium steak and sushi and it was excellent. See photos. You have to book in advance a day before because there were 14 of us. Some are vegetarian and no one complained. They have a decent wine selection but only one IPA option. It's pretty expensive with price ranging from $20 - $120. I would say medium is around $40. Looks like I will be back again. Definitely one of the top ones I have had in the Bay.

Joey nails the modern, moody, upscale vibe without feeling pretentious. The ambiance is stylish, the cocktails are top-tier, and the food is truly impressive. They also have a great wine selection that pairs well with just about everything on the menu. We started with the Korean cauliflower, which was decadent, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor—easily one of the standout dishes of the night. For mains, I ordered the bone-in ribeye while my boyfriend had the steak & sushi combo. Both were cooked beautifully and delivered on flavor and presentation. What really set this visit apart was the exceptional service. I have a few complicated allergies, and our server went above and beyond—checking with the chef multiple times to ensure everything was safe. The chef even prepared special side dishes so I could enjoy a full meal without compromise, which meant a lot. Joey delivers on ambiance, cocktails, food, and hospitality. Easily one of the best dining experiences at Valley Fair—and a place I’ll absolutely be returning to.

This was a wonderful experience! From the complimentary sparkling wine while we waited, to the delicious food and the stellar service. Sophia B was our server and she made sure we were well taken care of. We had the seabass, pork chop and ceviche. Everything was cooked perfectly and the sides complimented the dishes well. I’d definitely come back! Oh and don’t forget the dessert! The creme brûlée cheesecake is amazing.

Food is ok, nothing exceptional, but service is topnotch. Steaks cooked on point, but could use a little more seasoning. Atmosphere is friendly and inviting. A bit too pricey for most of the items. One and done type of experience.

I chose to eat here for my birthday without a reservation. We were welcomed by the hostess and they were all very polite. I ordered Chicken Parmesan and it was amazing. I will love to visit again but this time with a reservation. Thank you I had an amazing time! Side Note : Staff was very professional, helpful and overall polite. 10/10

my team and I came to Joeys for a business dinner, and we had a great time. we were greeted with complimentary drinks right after receptio, how refreshing! the overall ambience was also great, Fun vibes & moody lighting. our server Selena was also extremely helpful. the floor manager even came by to check on us a few times. we will definitely be coming back!

Let's start by saying this should be a 4.25 star review. I took a friend here for her birthday. Made the reservation on open table and mentioned it was a birthday lunch. I will start with what is really nice about this place....Let's talk elevating the experience with simple gestures. When you walk in they offer you a glass of sparkling wine or tea. This is a very nice touch...so simple, yet impactful. We were seated in the upstairs at a hightop bar table. The ambiance upstairs is simple, cool elegance. I imagine it's a great place to go at night for a drink and a bite. We ordered the Spicy Crab Dip to share. It was tasty, but the description said "crab, shrimp and pickled Fresnos." There definitely wasn't any shrimp, nor a pickled Fresno in sight. The dish was flavorful but a bit too heavy on the acid, enough to mask the crab flavor. Probably not a dish I would order again unless it was to see if it actually included the shrimp and Fresnos. I ordered the Mini Steak French Dips and my friend had the Steak and Sushi (choice of salmon or tuna - she got the salmon). The Mini French Dips were tasty, but the steak had some grisly pieces and the au jus was more like a gravy. Again, flavorful but I probably would skip it next time. The Steak and Sushi was the hands down winner. The steak was perfectly cooked with no suspicious bits to get caught in your teeth. The ponzu sauce was absolutely delicious - a perfect balance of savory, ginger and a hint of sweetness. Here's the kicker. I really do not like salmon, but my friend insisted I try it...said there was no "fishy" taste at all. I refused but she practically brow beat me to give it a try. Oh my! Yum! This was the first and only time I have ever enjoyed salmon in my life. So scrumptious...great flavors and textures. Definitely ordering this one again. Now let's talk service. While all of the staff was very friendly, the service was slow. The food came out fairly quickly, but their attentiveness to clearing plates and anticipating needs was lacking. It seemed as though they didn't have enough people covering for the size of the space and number of guests. In addition, although I had mentioned on the reservation that it was a birthday lunch there was no acknowledgement of that. Overall, I really enjoyed Joey. While a few things fell short, I had my eye on other plates as they passed our table and I definitely want to give it another try.

Great place for groups, celebrations and such. We walked up to the hostess and was first told about 40 minutes wait, luckily another hostess walked up behind her and said we actually have an availability now. It's great they treat you to refreshments as they lead you to your table. That's a first for me. As for the food. It's a big menu and you'll really have to come and judge for yourself. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Joey has been on my list to dine for quite some time and was finally able to go here. It is such a nice inviting restaurant and you are greeted with a glass of bubbly (or non-alcohol beverage) while you wait! I did ask for standard seating but we were taken upstairs where it was very loud and a lot of high top seating. Asked to change per my reservations and they quickly did so. My friend and I ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and apps to share from the house salad, fries, corn guacamole, and hummus with pita chips. One of the servers did pour us a glass and then left it chilled on our table. The house salad was surprisingly very good, corn guacamole was excellent, and the hummus plate was tasty too. The pita chips weren't too oily and had a nice crisp. I ordered the truffle udon carbonara and added the chicken katsu per the server's recommendation. My friend ordered the steak and lobster. I really enjoyed the udon carbonara, though I didn't taste any truffle. I thought it was better without the chicken katsu, they're pretty thin pieces of meat and I felt the two didn't go well together. My friend's lobster and steak were very overcooked and they were gracious to take it back and she ordered a chicken club sandwich with truffle fries. She really enjoyed that and the truffle fries are the way to go especially with the truffle aioli. An odd thing was they never came back to fill our glasses of wine so I did that myself. Usually when you order a bottle of wine they will come back to refill, but that never happened here. Other than that, our server was very attentive and the food was really good so I will definitely be back.

Joey's at Valley Fair never disappoints. The food was amazing and the service was on point, seriously chef's kiss. The atmosphere is such a vibe, perfect for lunch, happy hour, or a night out. The upstairs area is beautiful they have a fire on and the bar is always lively. Everything came out fast, the staff was friendly attentive, and every dish we ordered was delicious. I wish I took more photos because the space is gorgeous. Definitely one of my go-to spots at Valley Fair.

We celebrated a triple birthday at JOEY Valley Fair and it truly felt special from the moment we arrived. We were welcomed with champagne for the adults and sparkling tea for the minors, which immediately set the tone for a great evening. We were seated upstairs, and the ambiance was perfect, lively yet comfortable and ideal for a celebration. We started with the seafood tower, which we absolutely devoured. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. It's a fantastic starter for sharing and a great way to sample a variety of seafood. Highly recommend. For mains, the NY strip, while cooked to a perfect medium rare (my preference), wasn't as tender as I expected. That said, the truffle udon carbonara and the sea bass completely made up for it. Sea bass was super moist, flavorful, and delicious. My husband was kind enough to share a bite, and it was excellent. Because we were celebrating birthdays, the team went above and beyond by bringing complimentary desserts for each of us, complete with birthday messages and candles. Such a thoughtful and generous touch that really made the night memorable. Service throughout the evening was excellent, and one thing we couldn't help but notice is that everyone who worked there was incredibly kind and beautiful, which added to the overall positive vibe. JOEY Valley Fair is definitely a special place, whether you're celebrating a milestone or just enjoying a great night out. We'll absolutely be back.

We went to the restaurant on Saturday afternoon. Even though the wait was only about 5-10 minutes, the hostess gave us complimentary sparkling wine, which was such a nice touch. The place was spacious with a relaxed, comfortable vibe. The food was great, and they had a huge wine selection. I'll definitely make a reservation next time. I also liked that it works for so many occasions--whether you just want to grab drinks or celebrate something special.

Came here for a birthday dinner and was pretty impressed with everything here! Parking at Valley Fair can be a bit annoying but thankfully the garage wasn't too full when we went. Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne or sparkling tea. Everything we ordered on the menu was great-- my standout was the crab dip (SO yummy). My one complaint is that service was pretty sparse-- it was difficult to flag down a waiter at times and even when a manager came to check on us, they forgot to bring utensils that we'd asked for. Overall, would come back for the food and hopeful for more attentive service at future visits!

Absolutely love this place for the ambiance and food! Bubbles are poured for you as soon as you walk in. The ambiance reminds me of a lively Miami/Vegas restaurant. It's a vibe! The food was incredibly delicious! Highly recommend the lobster pasta and steak and ravioli. I recommend making a reservation in advance for a table and avoid the bar staff. During our visit we sat the bar with was a huge detractor for us. While the bar staff seemed kind at first . They weren't as attentive as we hoped. I noticed they never poured us water, when I asked for the group of three, only I was served water. I asked again and the young lady immediately became annoyed and mumbled under her breath which was incredibly rude. As expected, any time we needed water she just seemed annoyed about us needing water. Very uncomfortable.

Came to Joey recently and really enjoyed my experience! Upon checking in with the hostess, we were ushered to the other hostess who was pouring complimentary champagne or tea. My friend and I chose champagne, of course. Within a few minutes we went upstairs to the lounge (I had booked a reservation for the upstairs lounge on OpenTable - super easy). Our server was friendly, gave us recommendations, and didn't make us feel like we had to rush. Funnily enough, my friend and I both ordered the exact same drinks and food - spicy passionfruit margarita, peach bellini slushy, and the shrimp/fish tacos. Keep in mind everything is on the pricier side here. To be fair, I wasn't expecting a ton from the tacos, but they were actually quite good. The fries that came with the tacos were fantastic - piping hot and crispy. The tacos themselves were decently sized and I enjoyed the corn/guacamole. The provided salsa also had a tangy, mildly spicy kick. $24 (comes with fries) spicy passionfruit margarita: just okay, I didn't feel like there was any tajin or kick whatsoever but my friend thought there was a kick. Decent amount of tequila and tasty nonetheless. Just tasted more like a lime margarita than passion fruit in my opinion. $20 peach bellini (alcoholic slushy): So good! We had it as our second drink/dessert. You can still taste the rum in there, but it was still fruity and refreshing. $17 Overall, it was a good experience and we would be back to try other dishes!

Joey's in the Bay Area is one of the best additions to VF! My friends and I love coming here to celebrate or just have a casual dinner. Everything on the menu is super tasty and the drinks are delicious. My personal recs are the szechuan chicken lettuce wraps, ravioli blanco, and the steak/lobster spaghetti. Service is always fast but the wait can be a little long even with a resy. However, the complimentary champagne and good vibes help pass the time!

We had visited again for Black Friday & had Rio the amazing server yet again! We had a larger party and she was so accommodating and attentive to us! We brought a bottle of dom & some other champagnes and they made sure to keep our bottles on ice and made sure our glasses were full. The food is always a hit. The truffle fries and lettuce cups are all you need for a day of shopping and drinking. Whenever you go to Joey, make sure to see Rio & the other amazing staff.

My very first review of 2026 goes to JOEY! We've been here many times this past year. And because we're such fans, we decided to have our very first family meal of the year here. From celebrating special occasions to last-minute walk-ins and cocktails at the bar, JOEY is always a vibe and always a great idea! We have a few favorites on the menu - like the mini French steak dips, spicy crab dip, and the Chilean Seabass, along with quite a few of their cocktail selections. The service at JOEY has always been great, and I especially love the welcome you get when checking in (a glass of sparkling wine doesn't hurt either!) Reservations can sometimes be difficult to secure, especially during the weekends. I recommend planning and booking ahead to make sure you get a seat at their table. Can't wait for our next visit!

Wow! Service was excellent and food was superb. You're first greeted with champagne or sparkling tea right at the door. Lower level is more for families and the upper level has a more modern and upscale experience (felt like I was in LA). But the real stars are the food. The spicy crab dip, seared salmon sushi, and truffle udon carbonara I could eat all day, they were so delicious. We were celebrating and they were kind enough to provide us a free piece of crème brûlée and customized message on it. I would highly recommend joey!

Wow! This Canadian based restaurant exceeded our expectations! I got the carbonara (I'd skip the chicken cutlet next time) it was creamy and fully of flavor! The crab dip was decadent! Loved that we got to celebrate a long awaited parents night out! Definitely worth it!

Love everything I had here! Upon arriving, we were offered free sparkling wine or a non-alcoholic drink while we waited for our table. This restaurant opened in April 2025 so make sure to book your reservation in advance. We sat upstairs (it's half indoor/outdoor but they have heaters at night) - love the interior and the vibe of this restaurant! For appetizer, we had hummus which was soo good! I also had their espresso martini and loved it. I got the steak & sushi and the seared salmon just melted in your mouth - delicious!! Our server was super nice but once we got our food, we weren't really checked up on. I would definitely come back again though and try more of their dishes. For parking, Valley Fair has first 2 hours free!

I made a reservation for 5 at 5:30 PM on a Sunday Evening. Valley Fair was packed as usual on a Sunday Evening. Parking and foot traffic were just as heavy as well. Since we had reservations, everything went smoothly, we were checked in at the front and promptly seated. Our Table was upstairs in the outdoor seating area. We were welcomed with a flute of Champagne or Non-Alcoholic sparkling Cider. The ambiance inside was warm and welcoming, not pretentious or snobby at all. This place is huge... with plenty of seating on both levels. There was an entire section upstairs that wasn't being utilized. Our waitress was prompt and checked up on us frequently. Starters & Shares: ~ Spicy Crab Dip - 4.5/5 Delish! Sourdough bread with lump crab meat with green onion, pickled fresnos. Very tasty! ~ Miso Roasted Mushrooms - 4.5/5 Some tasty Mushrooms with shallots cooked in white wine. ~ Korean Fried Cauliflower - 4.5/5 These were amazing; sweet & spicy Korean Chili glaze, with pickled fresnos and watermelon radish. Yum! ~ Truffle Parmesan Fries - 5/5 Perfectly done Truffle Fries with a brilliant Mustard Aioli. Mains: ~ Truffle Udon Carbonara - 4/5 Definitely Japanese Italian fusion. I was expecting a stronger Truffle flavor, but this was still very good. I loved the thick chewy noodles with egg yolk, bacon, dashi truffle cream sauce. ~ Cajun Blackened Chicken - 4/5 full breast of chicken, warm potato & bacon salad, creamy coleslaw ~ Sake Glazed Chilean Seabass - 5/5 A perfectly cooked Seabass accompanied with wok-fired vegetables with gold potatoes in a dashi broth. Salads & Bowls: ~ Yellowfin Tuna Salad - 4/5 While this was very good Tuna Salad, this was the least flavorful dish of the evening...in comparison to the rest of the food we ordered. The Tuna was perfectly seared on the outside, rare in the middle. Accompanied with mango, peanuts, avocado, crispy gyoza strips and cilantro ginger dressing. Our dining experience became a little weird towards the end. Our waitress kinda of disappeared and wasn't see in a while. She also never bought a us the check. We had to flag down another waitress, who was super helpful and brought us the check. Then oddly, out of nowhere our waitress came back with the closed check and handed over to us. That was interesting... I'd still return.

Went here with friends who had been here and said it was good. Really cool vibe, make sure you have reservations. When you enter, you get a complimentary champagne, non alcoholic tea or wine. We sat upstairs in a booth and I love the aesthetic. Reminds me of a lounge. We shared the spicy crab dip. I ordered the udon carbonara, very good. I already made reservations for lunch with a friend who hasn't been there. It's a fun restaurant to go to in the evening. Second update: a friend wanted to try Joey's so we went for lunch! I had the Mediterranean bowl and it was good! She said her prime rib sandwich was delicious. Good service and I love seeing this restaurant in the daylight. Very pretty. I've never cared about ambiance but with this restaurant, I really appreciate the aesthetic.

Food: New York Strip and Lobster Spaghetti Price: $84 | $43 Overall: Joey has been on our list for fine dining and it is located at Valley Fair so it is great to eat and then shop after! We reserved at 6:30pm on a Saturday and we were a bit late (~15 min) due to traffic and they were understanding (great thing!). Once we checked in, we were welcomed with complementary bubbles. The atmosphere is very modern and posh. We got seated on the 2nd floor and luckily even though it was half outdoors, there is enough warmth. My boyfriend and I ordered the New York Strip and Lobster Spaghetti to share. We requested for the New York Strip to be sliced but they seem to have forgotten when they delivered it to us. We requested for red pepper flakes but it arrived towards the end of the meal. Although fine dining is not my style, I think it was a great excuse to have a date night.

My girlfriends and I decided to dress up in holiday green and celebrate Friendsmas with a dinner at Joey's, and it was all of our first time visiting. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of amazing. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with complimentary champagne, with the option of alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Even on a busy Saturday night, our wait time was less than 10 minutes. We were greeted by multiple hosts, servers, and even the manager, who noticed our gifts and asked what we were celebrating -- such a thoughtful and personal touch. The customer service truly stood out and set the tone for the evening. We were seated in an upstairs corner booth, which I absolutely loved. It gave us a great view of the entire restaurant, including the bar area. The music, ambiance, and décor were exceptional and perfectly matched the upscale holiday vibe we were going for. Even the gender-neutral bathrooms felt elevated, with private rooms and personal sinks -- attention to detail everywhere. We started with appetizers: * Spicy crab and shrimp dip - 6/10. Flavorful, but I would've loved a bit more heat and slightly softer bread. Still enjoyable overall. * Korean fried cauliflower - 10/10. An absolute standout. The sweet chili Thai sauce, light crispy batter, sweet peppers, and watermelon radish created the perfect balance of flavor and texture, plus the presentation was beautiful. I brought a bottle of champagne to toast our friendship and celebrate a successful year. The $30 corkage fee was well worth it -- they kept the bottle on ice until we were ready, and once opened, our waitress made sure our glasses stayed full throughout the night. The level of service exceeded expectations. For entrees, we ordered several dishes to share: * Lobster spaghetti - 8/10. Great flavor and very enjoyable overall. The noodles could've been cooked a bit longer and the dish could've used more sauce, but the taste was still delicious. Excellent customer service truly elevated the experience. * Ravioli Bianco - 10/10. The truffle flavor gave this dish an amazing punch and made it a favorite at the table. * Herb-crusted salmon - 10/10. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. * Sake-glazed Chilean sea bass - 9/10. Tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Presentation for all the dishes was a solid 10/10. The pasta portions were generous, while the salmon and sea bass were slightly smaller but packed with flavor. The sides helped balance the meal nicely. The crispy mashed potato egg rolls were definitely unique -- mashed potatoes in egg roll form! 7/10 because they were flavorful, cooked well, and fun to try, even though they weren't what my eyes initially expected. To end the night, our waitress surprised us with a dessert that looked and tasted like a crème brûlée cheesecake, topped with raspberry sauce that spelled out "Happy Friendsmas." The thoughtfulness and attention to detail were immaculate. Shoutout to our waitress Darcy -- she was incredibly sweet, attentive, and provided exceptional service throughout the night. She truly made the evening feel special. Overall, it was an unforgettable Friendsmas dinner and an amazing first experience for me and my girls. We will absolutely be back to try more items on the menu.

I just went back for lunch with my mom on a week day around opening which was 11 am. Greeted with sparkling wine or tea is just so fun. The sparkling tea is shockingly good!!! Had to get the bang bang chicken again and a coconut smash drink! My mom wasn't going to get a drink, she then tried mine and had to order one, ITS SO GOOD!! We split the cheeseburger with truffle fries and it was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!! Omg I'm literally so obsessed with that burger and joeys in general I can't wait to go back! My husband and I came here over the summer (2025), before going to an event with C&H jewelers. Joey is a vibe. The decor, the entire space, and overall scenery are perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. We had reservations, but it did take us a 20-30 minutes to get seated, which made us feel that we were going to be late for our event. We had to order and eat our food quickly; I would have preferred to enjoy my food, but that wasn't possible on this night. My order was wrong, so they had to put in my order again, so that increased our wait time as we ate. Our waitress was kind and the staff seemed attentive to everyone's needs. While my food was okay, it wasn't spectacular. We got the truffle parmesan fries, tuna and avocado crunch roll, ravioli bianco, truffle udon carbonara. My husband was a fan of his truffle udon. My ravioli came was good, but it was room temperature. Even though there were a few missteps, I like Joey's menu, and I'm wiling to come back again for a redo meal.

Celebrated a birthday lunch at JOEY and had a great experience overall. We immediately were greeted with complimentary sparkling wine and tea; both were great but I really enjoyed the tea. We requested to be seated in the rooftop area in our reservation but initially they tried to seat us downstairs because they assumed that two members of our party were minors (which would have been a good thing to check prior to serving the wine, if it was a concern). After that confusion though, we were moved to the rooftop and the remainder of our experience was seamless. Arabella was a wonderful waitress and took good care of our table, making sure that our dietary needs were accommodated for. Ambience at the rooftop bar was visually appealing and lively. The variety of the menu is extensive and there is truly something for everyone. Highlights included the miso mushrooms, truffle fries, and udon carbonara. The yellowfin tuna salad and wings were good but nothing special. The complimentary birthday dessert (creme brûlée cheesecake) was delicious and something I have not had before. For drinks, there are mostly tequila options as opposed to vodka but there are an also variety of low alcohol and non alcohol options. The slush cocktails are a bit misleading as it sounds like the drink itself is a slushy, but only the very top of the drink is slush (see photo).

Spent the night here celebrating my daughter's birthday. We were welcomed with a nice greeting and a complimentary glass of champagne, which was a great start. Our party of eight was seated on the first floor -- the vibe was lively and fun, but it can feel a bit too noisy, especially for elders. We ordered several appetizers, including the seafood tower. The spicy crab dip was quite good, and the French dip was also a solid way to start the meal. However, the seafood tower was disappointing. At around $155 per tower, I was expecting a cold, Italian-style seafood tower, but it turned out to be more of a hot dish with assorted seafood. For the price, I wouldn't recommend it. For mains, the spaghetti was average, but the ribeye stood out and was very good. Service was excellent throughout the evening. Overall, good service and a fun atmosphere, but the noise level may not be ideal for older guests.

I've been here twice recently and both visits were great. I'd highly recommend making a reservation. The second time we came on a Saturday night without a resy and were quoted about a 1.5 hour wait, which was expected. We went shopping nearby, and they ended up calling us back in about an hour. While waiting to be seated, they offered complimentary champagne or sparkling white tea, which was such a nice little touch. The service and ambiance are 10/10. Perfect for a dinner date, girls night out, or birthday dinner. The food is consistent and delicious. I recommend the steak and ravioli bianco, and the yellowfin tuna salad. It is a chain restaurant and the menu has a ton of variety -- kind of reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory, not gonna lie, but way more elevated.

Great food and excellent service! This is a trendy new spot right in front of Valley Fair mall. They have American food with a spin on it. I came here with my family for my birthday weekend and had a great time. My advice is to make a reservation, you'll be walked right in. They have complimentary drinks for the people waiting. This place was clean, and looks new. Everything was very cool looking, not old, dark or stuffy. This place you can enjoy being in. There was plenty of parking as Valley Fair has multiple car garages. The food was great! I had a lobster pasta with steak and it was amazing! They have something for everyone here on their menu. They brought me a little treat for my birthday which was very delicious! We had some drinks that were just the right amount of alcohol, not too stiff and not too sweet. This is a place worth trying! I will for sure be back here.

Ambiance: love the vibe here! The lights, paintings on the wall, talkative and attentive staffs, interiors designs are all shouting chill vibe. Might not be suitable for couples who wish to talk and enjoy quiet private date, but definitely recommend to gatherings either friends or family! Food: It was a company holiday dinner, so we tried a couple of appetizers. They are all very tasty, especially the Korean cauliflower and gyoza, but a bit too salty. I ordered the steak & lobster pasta. The sauce is a bit spicy and that brings the dish to another level! The steak was medium but a bit too dry and chewy. Desserts are just on the okay side. The cocktails are fantastic and definitely recommend trying some of them. Service: our table staff Sean (or Shawn?) was fantastic. Provide water, take orders at the perfect timing, and also very attentive to make sure we're happy with our orders even ti he's about to clock off.

Lovely, classy restaurant with terrific service. When we arrived, we were welcomed with champagne or a non-alcoholic sparkling drink in the waiting area, which set a great tone for the evening. You can tell Joey has a high bar for their level of service. Our server checked in often and made sure we had everything we needed, and even informed us before he went on break and introduced us to the new server for the night. We ordered the Spicy Crab Dip, the Truffle Udon Carbonara, and the Joey Classic Sirloin. The crab dip was rich and savory with just the right amount of heat, and the toasted bread it came with was excellent. The udon carbonara was also deliciously creamy, savory, and comforting, with crispy bacon adding nice texture. The steak, ordered medium-rare, was cooked perfectly. While the portion was on the smaller side, it was still delicious, and the accompanying sides--vegetables and potatoes--were also very well done. Overall, we left full and satisfied!

Just came here to celebrate my birthday and the ambiance is always nice here! They serve you champagne at the door. I got the spicy crab dip for appetizer which I recommend! We got the carbonara udon which is my all time favorite dish and add the katsu to this for extra protein but I don't think it needed it. I tried the steak blanco ravioli and it was delicious! It comes with steak and shrimp and you can upgrade the steak, we upgraded to the 7oz size. The birthday dessert was a nice surprise and decorated cute. Altogether would definitely recommend to celebrate here for dinner!

Overall we Enjoyed our special dinner celebrating our anniversary at Joey! While you're waiting to be seated, they offer a glass of champagne to everyone! A nice touch and everyone feels like they're celebrating already! Love the vibe during dinner time! Urban music and gorgeous moody interior design! You forget you're in San Jose lol Would have rate a 5+ stars except our steak, brocollini and mashed potatoes smelled and tasted like gas/propane all over.. made me gag and I could not get rid of the taste in my mouth. :( Our server was super sweet and offered us extra mashed potatoes on the house.. we spent so much on the steak but could barely enjoy it. I probably wont order something from the grill next time. Everything else was 5 stars!

Went for an impromptu late birthday dinner for my wife since it was the first time we were out alone without our newborn. Came at 430pm on a saturday thinking we could beat the dinner traffic. We kind of did...had to wait 30 mins. This place is one of the newest and highest reviewed and highest rated restaurants combined in the area so we had to try it. All the staff are super nice and attentive. They offered free bubbly at the entrance which we declined for ourselves but thats super chill. They stored our Lady M dessert slices in the fridge for us that we were just gonna take home. Spicy crab dip 5/5 this was delicious. not really spicy. I am glad they gave plenty of bread to dip into it. A lot of places dont give enough bread to dip. Steak and seared salmon sushi 4/5 Steak was perfectly cooked. Miso dressing sauce was little too strong on the citrus. Seared salmon sushi was made pretty good. Quantity could be a little more. Joey steak and fried potatoes 3.5/5 Steak was excellent again. Id give it 5/5 Fried potatoes id say 3/5 cause it was mashed potatoes in an egg roll shell which is fine except it wasnt crispy fried. it was very soggy. In my opinion, if you want to make it ahead of time, probably switch to panko crumbs that are pre fried in butter and massively sprinkled onto mash potatoes at serving. Or try making fried potato balls on a different menu change. Overall great for trying to make it creative. Tap that cake 5/5 Melted Klondike bar on top of brownie cake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate dip poured on top. I really liked this. Everything about this was delicious. This place seems to be the number 1 restaurant at the mall. American restaurant with asian fusion. Very chill date vibes. All the staff are attentive and super nice. 5 service 3.5 food execution 1 parking is always terrible at valley fair mall but not the restaurants fault.

Went today for a girl's day lunch before the madness of Black Friday. The vibe was so pretty and we were welcomed with sparkling wine/tea which was what we needed after dealing with the crazy parking. Selena was our sever and she was amazing! Super friendly and was able to give us some good recommendations on food and drinks. We ordered the Steak French Dip, Spicy Crab Dip, Truffle Miso Carbonara, and Farmers Salad. The French dip was my favorite dish of the day- a must try! I also tried their Kiwi Melon drink and this was to die for! Overall, we would def come back again!

I really enjoyed my meal here. My group treated me out to an early birthday and I left stuffed. We had: Udon truffle Carbonara with Pork Katsu 4/5 spicy crab dip - 5/5 generous serving of crab! steak and ravioli 3/5 steak and fries 4/5 sirloin steak and chimchurri sauce +$2 Chilean sea bass 5/5 *must order!* For a birthday treat, they gave us a delicious crème brûlée with fresh whipped cream, toasted coconut flakes and apple jam. Joey has pushed up the bar on food of the Valleyfair/Santana Row scene. A sophisticated comfy japandi modern restaurant that serves a fusion of Japanese, American and Italian cuisines. You'll leave here with a photo album of aesthetic picture with a monstera in every background and belly full of good food. No disappointments here.

My fiance and I came on a slow Thursday afternoon before heading to the Valkyries game in the city, and our experience was great! It was a hot summer day, and we were seated at the rooftop part of the restaurant. The place gives me the feeling of being at a resort in MX, which was a nice touch of the decor and ambiance. I have yet to be here during dinner time. I bet it's beautiful, although the vibes were vibing. I do think that they have to consider the shade on a hot summer day, especially when they're serving carpaccios. Just an FYI. The complimentary champagne is always a plus, although I'm sure they don't offer it to everyone ALL the time, I know because I wasn't offered it the second time we came. The servers were great and straight to the point. The girlies on the front lines are a hit or miss, unfortunately, which I understand. This place is a high-traffic location, especially since it is attached to one of the biggest malls in California. Speaking of carpaccios (beef carpaccio), it was marvelous, thankfully we got it before the sun did LOL, The crab dip was overwhelming and too rich, I don't think I'll be getting that next time. The sushi cones were perfect for a palate reset, the steak and ravioli were yummy, and we loved it! now the dinks!!!! Lemme tell you, they can make an espresso martini THE RIGHT WAY because next door (maestros) doesn't LOL Overall, I'd love to come back with friends at night and test out the vibes

Second time visiting.. this time to celebrate my Niece's 21st. Amazing food as I remembered! Ordered the Joey's steak, Korean cauliflower and Coconut Smash. Amara our server was just genuinely kind, friendly and so much fun! She is the best! Thanks so much ! And Thank you Tyler for checking in on us too!

This was my first time trying Joey, and it lived up to the hype! Even though there was a short wait when we checked in for our reservation, we were immediately welcomed with complimentary champagne or sparkling tea. Throughout the night, we were served exclusively by female servers. I'm not sure if that was intentional, but I loved it and it really added to the vibe of our girls' night. When we were deciding on cocktails, our server even offered to bring us Bellini samples, though we ultimately just went straight for the full cocktails. Everything we ordered was delicious: the spicy crab dip, truffle Parmesan fries, mini steak French dips (a must-order!), and the Truffle Udon Carbonara with the Katsu Chicken add-on. The food does lean on the saltier side, but the flavors are excellent. The prices are definitely steep for what we ordered, but that's pretty standard for the Bay Area. Overall, I'd absolutely come back, especially for a special occasion.

Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner for a friend on a Saturday night - man was this place packed! We had reservations, so didn't have to wait too long, but the entire entrance was filled with guests waiting for tables. It was raining, so people couldn't stand outside, which probably made the inside feel more crowded. We were greeted with the choice of either sparkling tea or wine while we waited. The ambiance is kind of like a Vegas club - loud music and people dressed up to the nines. My group was feeling like we didn't get the memo since we were dressed quite casually. Most people dining here looked like they were going to a club or something haha. We had reserved the upstairs 18+ area for our table and were glad we did, it was a nice, intimate space which we preferred over the downstairs. The upstairs does have open walls, but it remained a pleasant temperature throughout our meal so this did not bother us. We ordered a few different items for us to share: the miso mushrooms, bang bang chicken, strawberry salad, ravioli bianco, and the truffle udon carbonara. Everything was very tasty, we were actually pleasantly surprised by the flavor of all of the dishes. Our favorites were the udon carbonara and the ravioli. As we were celebrating a birthday, they offered us a complimentary cheesecake for dessert. However, our friend did not like cheesecake, so we requested a different dessert & they were happy to accomodate. We ended up getting a chocolate dessert instead - which was amazing! The servers here were also very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. I was very happy with my experience here and will definitely be returning. It's worth a try if you are looking for an upscale, tasty meal!

Five stars for Joey! Now I see why this is a highly rated, highly beloved restaurant among so many. The ambiance, the food, the service--it's all superb. My friend made reservations for us. We arrived on time and were treated to complimentary champagne or tea while we waited. The restaurant is huge and well-spaced, with a bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and tables for all party sizes. It's a popular spot, quite loud, with dim lighting, chic yet casual. Service was phenomenal by all. Very sweet, understanding, and we were constantly checked on by our servers and management. I even spilled my drink, and they gave me a new one for free! Now, for food, it's definitely California cuisine--a variety of choices for all dietary preferences. My friend and I shared the Korean Fried Cauliflower, and I got the Baja Fish Tacos for my main. I love fish tacos, and their fish and shrimp were perfectly fried and seasoned. Loved how much guacamole and how complete the taco was! The tortilla was flour, and it got a little wimpy, so it broke a bit. The fries that came with it were good! I would 100% bring my friends and family back to Joey! I really liked my experience here. They're located in Valley Fair on the outside of the mall, and there's plenty of garage parking.

The service here is SO good. Highly recommend if that's a priority for you. I ordered the steak and ravioli and it was a sizable portion. Unfortunately it wasn't hot but I understand it's hard to time everything when it's a large party. Overall it was still tasty!

I've been to Joey's many, many times, and it's always a great spot to catch up with friends. It does get busy, so having a reservation is usually the way to go. When I first came here, they had happy hour, but when I went back about two months ago they said they no longer offer it--even though it's still listed on the menu. One thing I really like is that after you check in, they offer complimentary bubbly or cold tea, which is a nice touch. As for the food, the spicy crab dip was pretty good, though definitely not spicy at all. The miso roasted mushrooms are something I order every single time--they're that good. The chicken lettuce wraps were also really tasty, and I liked the little kick they had. The truffle udon carbonara was delicious and had a strong truffle flavor, which I loved. The sake-glazed Chilean seabass was another delicious dish and cooked really well. The lobster spaghetti, however, was kind of bland. And the seared salmon sushi was a miss for me...the rice was mushy, there was way too much of it, and the seared salmon on top was super thin. I'd definitely skip that one. Service has always been great every time I've come. Overall, I'd come back again and keep trying more items from their huge menu.

I made a reservation for 2 on a Sunday night at 6PM and we waited around 15 minutes. While we were waiting for our table, they do offer a glass of complimentary sparkling champagne and sparkling tea if you don't drink alcohol. The overall restaurant is pretty dark do it can be difficult to see but they do have a small light and coat hanger at every table. Food: -Spicy Crab Dip $23: 5/5 the crab dip isn't really spicy and the toasted sourdough bread paired so well with the flavorful dip. This is a must get. -Bang bang chicken $21: 4/5. This was super flavorful and a tad on the saltier side. I don't know if I would get this again to be honest but it was good to try at least once. -Truffle Udon $27: 4.5/5. I really liked this entree to share since it's too rich to eat the whole thing by yourself. I remember the first time I got this dish-- it was super flavorful and delicious. But this time it was also on the saltier side, I would definitely get this again but only to share with someone else. -Steak & Frites $49.50 (add on cilantro chimichurri and truffle fries, upgraded to 7 oz sirloin). 3.5/5. This was nothing special. The steak wasn't cooked any different-- it was a little dry but seasoned well. The chimichurri was not salted so unsure if I would get the chimichurri or the steak again. -Complimentary dessert: 3/5 we got a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. It was a cheesecake with a tart cranberry or raspberry sauce. My partner wasn't a fan of the dessert and I thought it was just okay. It was free regardless though so that was nice of Joey to do. Overall-- I would definitely come back to share all the appetizers with. I haven't found a entrée that I really loved though to come back for.

I have had better food experience and flavors at that price. Service is good, and ambiance is casual. It could be a good date night place or may be to have drinks with friends. But I would rather spend my money at a location that serves better food in a cozy setting at that price. Hopefully, they will improve the menu, as neither the desserts were exceptional nor the food, it was plain pricey. The fried cauliflower in my tacos was extremely oily. The wrap was craving for a good Asian dressing. The portions were tiny for that price. We chose this place based on its ratings from others, but I might not go back as I didn't have the same experience. I value either the experience or food at that price and none was available.

Where do I begin. You can't go wrong with choosing Joeys. The second you enter to get seated they great you with your choice of sparkling wine or cider, of course I chose the wine. They offer seating upstairs and downstairs, both provide a sleek yet cozy vibe. For starters we ordered the spicy crab dip which was delicious. For my entree I chose the filet mignon with crispy salmon sushi, 10/10 recommend you try their sushi. The steak was unique and flavorful, cooked to perfection. It's had a tangy sauce which I enjoyed. The sushi was fresh, crispy, and perfect all on its own. Which was shocked to me because I love soy sauce. For drinks we had quite the selection, from espresso martinis to margaritas. They were all excellent. For dessert they gave us a complimentary crème brûlée since we celebrated my birthday dinner. Will definitely be coming back!

Been going to Joeys for so long. Love the one in L.A. and Houston so them building one in my backyard was a treat that I didn't know I needed. It's already an amazing restaurant, but being the place that's open the latest near Santana Row just has to be great for business. Service is always top notch, you're greeted with a glass of bubbly the second you get in. This is the type of service that I need in my life. Dress code is usually enforced so wear something nice. The vibe is like no other once you step in. You'll meet some pretty important people if you are social, everyone loves Joeys. My go to are the sushi cones, udon carbonara and steak and shrimp ravioli with the carbonara being my favorite. All the food is amazing but the one thing on the menu that you MUST ORDER is the butter cake. Now I know Mastros is 2 doors down and they are crowned as the best butter cake BUT NO NO NO, Joeys is my favorite butter cake on the planet. No question!!!
