Joey's Bagels - Fletcher

First time here, and it was an overall good experience. We stopped in for lunch and got a Philly Cheese steak and an Italian sub with a begal. Everything was pretty good. I did like the Philly more. The Italian doesn't come with mayonnaise so you have to ask. I would definitely recommend checking out this joint. Potatoe salad was better than the pasta side as well.

First place that’s ever gotten the request for a “NJ/NY schmear” correct. This is the correct proportions of bagel to cc! So good, and let me pick my toast level. LOVE.

I come here very often, but it seems like the last few handfuls of times the orders are never right. Today I ordered 2 garlic bagels double toasted with garlic cream cheese ny style and a large mocha frappe. What i got was 2 untoasted garlic bagels that were not new york style and a frappe that wasn't was liquid with whip cream on top that looked like they ran out while making my drink. Here is a picture of my bagel before I threw my whole order away.

My husband and I have been coming here for a few months now. We’ve always had our orders made correctly and they’re the best bagels in town. Sometimes on a weekend morning it can get pretty busy, but that’s true of any breakfast place and I feel like they keep pace well even in a rush.

I don't know what's going on at this location, but I've been there 3 times in the last month and there is always issues. First you can't ever get them to answer the phone anymore. Secondly I know they get busy but the last time I went I waited 23 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese. The time before that I had to ask for less burnt bagel and then today I went and the bathroom was filthy and there was an employee up at the front coughing standing to the side of the register. It used to be run a lot better and I am not sure what's going on, there is always issues.

I’m obsessed with Joey’s Bagels—especially the bacon, egg, and cheese. It’s my go-to and honestly one of the best around. The bagels are always fresh, the sandwich is perfectly cooked, and it hits every single time. Total comfort food and worth every bite.

We finally found it! The best bagel so far in Asheville! Bagels are huge and chewy, just the way they should be. We happened to be in the area and can’t resist trying a dozen bagels! Now we don’t have to bring them in from other states! Please set up a store in North Asheville!!

Coming from CT and spending time in NY, I know what a bagel is. Joeys has real bagels and plenty of cream cheese and other stuff to put on them. They make hogies, too. My favorite cream cheese is jalapeños cream cheese, but all cream cheese is perfection. How good is it? We'll we drive over 2 hours to get there.

Great selection, quick service, great new flavors to try. We bought the dozen, get 2 extra bagels for free. So far we have sampled the French toast, Everything and cinnamon raisin. All flavorful powerhouses! The only recommendation I have is to add a couple of non dairy spread like avocado and non dairy cream cheese. And a vegan wrap or plant based sausage and egg option. Thanks for the bagels!

Go, Joey's Bagels on Merrimon! Congratulations on your (seemingly) successful opening today! Stopped by to support the soft opening and it was quite a wonderful sight to see the super long line. Love the support! (And they cleared it very quickly!) There was a lot of joy and enthusiasm from the clientele for the new location and hardworking staff. The staff was very kind & patient as we navigated the menu and picked out our baker's dozen. Bypass the (ahem) chain bagel place nearby and buy local for a better bagel!

Best bagels I've had in Asheville, maybe anywhere. Tried the pumpernickel, plain, garlic, everything, egg, French toast and asiago. All very good. Large sized (pumpernickel -- my favorite -- was the smallest presumably because it is more dense, so the size was perfect given that). Buy 6 get 1 free is a good deal. They held up well: last ones were still great even after a few days. Easy to get to location in a little shopping center just off Merrimon Ave in North Asheville. This will definitely be our go to place for bagels from now on.

Found the restaurant to be clean(in clouding restrooms) the stay nice, could work on their friendliness. The food is served fresh, had potato salad and lux and bagels overall this place is 9 on a scale 1 - 10... I'll be stopping by again. Oh only ding I give them on the bagel they did Not put lux cream cheese on the bagel as I requested. Did pick up a few extra bagels

Bagels are pretty good But... don't bother to pay extra for the lox cream cheese spread. Not an even a hint of the beloved fish flavor. Rev it up Joey! Or don't bother to even offer it. Hey I'm a New Yorker too, and back in the hood they laugh that S:^t out of town

I had the pleasure of trying Joeys this weekend and I was very impressed. It's delicious. Incredible find in time for national bagel day Jan 15th. Hint hint. Located on the side of the highway (if it was on the way to work, I'd be in trouble), this inconspicuous little shop is a star. Plenty of parking and some inside tables (small and a bit limited though). Looked like many people did a take away order or pre ordered. They have a popular Wednesday deal when buying many. The Sammy I got (everything bagel with bacon and egg and cheese) was a star. It was simple yet fresh. You get to choose your bagel and cheese flavor. The price is great- all menu items are very affordable. The real star were the staff though. I had the pleasure of talking to many of them and they were such a delightful bunch. Passionate about their job and community. They were out of many bagels already and it wasn't even noon- the earlier the better I'd say.

They lost my order and did not have it ready. That could happen to any business. Bagels are delicious. I will definitely be a returning customer.

Joeys bagels was recommended by my barber and it did not disappoint! I got an everything bagel and was the best I have had in some time. I had meant to grab some of their everything toppings to use for avocado toast so will definitely be back soon.

Congratulations on Joey's bagels in Asheville . Very good bagel. Would be a 5 if bagels had a little more toppings . Yet I look forward to many bagels from Joey !

Went to this second location after the Hendersonville one and the staff was super friendly (not so much at the other store, well just the same staff that served me twice. Looked like he hated life both times). Got an Asiago bagel w veggie cream cheese, veggies and turkey and it was delicious. Sandwich was well made and this place will definitely be my go to bagel spot next time I'm in town!

Joey's Bagels are the best in our area. The range of cream cheese varieties and lox are a convenience that can be purchased by the pound. Wednesday is a special bagel sale, but that shouldn't stop a person from heading over there. I want to thank Joey's Bagels for participation in the annual "Camp Card." We bought two cards, and this boy's mind nearly exploded by scoring a double sale. Such moments don't happen without company participants.

Joey's in Fletcher needs to step up their game a bit. When my order was received I noticed that the pasta salad was missing. Good catch on my part but it was hard to get anyone's attention to get the item so I had to go back to the order line. What I didn't notice was that the cream cheese was not in the bag for one of the bagels I ordered. Not having time to return one of the folks in my party was disappointed with the food. You shouldn't run the business like Walmart and expect the customer to do your job for you.

This place has fresh delicious bagels ! They also have omelette's and breakfast sandwiches. You can place your order online. There is limited seating inside. Everyone is so kind . Be patient because they are always busy !

Diabolical how long we waited after we ordered our food 20+ people in the lobby for over 45 minutes waiting for food while there are at least six employees only bringing stuff out every ten minutes Do not go to the Fletcher location

So yummy!! Strongly recommend this bagel spot if you're in Asheville. They have a ton of bagel options, so I grabbed myself a bagel sandwich for the road and also half a dozen bagels to take home for the week when I visited :)

Went to Joeys on Merrimon Ave. Not impressed. I got an Asiago bagel with egg, cheese and bacon. No Asiago on bagel, it tasted like a plain bagel. No American cheese was on sandwich, bacon was literally raw and flabby. Sorry Joey, I wont be back. Brueggers is way better!

This place was real close to where I stayed for work in NC. Ate same breakfast 4 straight days... wonderful omelette that fits a carnivore diet..

We had a big order and Zandy got it right with a smile and great service . The food rocks!

Bagels have the taste and texture of authentic NY bagels. I was especially pleased to see that they have salt bagels as well. Best bagels in town!

What more can I say, my favorite breakfast place. I just happen to be so lucky to live half way between both Joeys locations . Food: 5/5- This place knows how to make serious omelettes on top of obviously seriously authentic Bagels . And my judgment for Bagels is based upon some of the best places in Brooklyn and Manhattan not to mention Montreal Bagels. They have an excellent assortment of savory and sweet Bagels, All the best classic cream cheeses, 4 very reasonably priced and perfectly cooked house omelettes., some breakfast sandwiches, and a whole choice of subs, including Philly cheesesteaks, and lox and cream cheese on a bagel of your choosing Service: 5.5/5, truly, some of the warmest people, both Joeys are fantastic, but Personal shouts out to Zandy Who has been there 9 years as well as Dan 7 years. They really do go above and beyond out of their way here to provide incredible customer service.. Joeys is not just one of my favorite restaurants for the food and service. I really love seeing genuinely good people contribute to our community. Joe is obviously the type of employer who treats his employees with the degree of respect that retains employees like this around. And that's saying a lot during a time when everyone keeps saying, no one wants to work. Thank you Joeys you're my fav

Joey's makes some of the best bagels you're going to find outside NYC. The experiences I've had have time from excellent where they built rapport and made incredible meals to robotic and disconnected at the cashier. I'd be open to trying again. We've eaten with them about 6-8 times now. It's good but i wouldn't suggest it as the inconsistency. Here's to hoping next time i can change this to a five!!

I imagine there is a better bagel and coffee joint in the world. It is conceivable, but if there is I sure don't know where it is.

Food is good but customer service is trash. Don't place an order online. They will either cancel it or not get it right.

Having grown up in southern CT less than an hour from NYC, I think I have a pretty good idea of what a good NY-style bagel is. Lots of places claim to offer them, but Joey's Bagels is the real deal. Crisp on the outside with tiny micro-blisters, tender on the inside, and with a large variety of flavors to pick from, I haven't had a bagel from Joey's I haven't loved. Their egg bagels in particular are absolutely fantastic and my go-to when I'm in the mood for one. They also offer 50% off a dozen bagels on Wednesday and throw in a few for free, so you get 14 top-quality bagels for $7.99. They freeze beautifully so you never run out, but make sure to slice them before you freeze them so you're not left staring longingly at a defrosting bagel before you can get your fix. Joey's also offers high-quality sandwiches on house-baked sub rolls, with Boar's Head meats. So far I've only tried their chicken bacon ranch sub served hot and their NY club served cold, but both have been fantastic. Service is top-notch and everyone is friendly, prices are reasonable, and there's never a long wait to place your order or before your food is served. With two locations, you really can't go wrong with anything from Joey's Bagels.

if you're looking for mediocre bagels, and can wait for 35 minutes, this is the place for you! Assuming they don't lose your order, they'll hand it to you with an attitude. This place used to be Good, now it's just garbage.

Passing through town on a road trip, my husband & I stopped into Joey's Bagels! We both ordered the Mediterranean Veggie Wrap (Pasta Salad as our side) & an Asiago Bagel with Garlic & Herb Cream Cheese to split. Our food came out promptly & our order was 100% correct. Everything tasted fresh & delicious! Wish we had one of these back home. 10/10!

We drove 45 mins and the bagels were worth it, perfect bagel! Service was great, everyone was friendly and kind. My whole party is full and happy.

The best bagels ever! The cream cheese is so fluffy & creamy and I love how they toast them to your liking AND cut them in half before they wrap them. The fried potatoes were very tasty! Would highly recommend!!

I love how consistent the food at Joey's has been over the 15 years that I have been going there. My go to is an everything bagel, egg, Swiss, lettuce, tomato and a light smear of Mayo. So I was upset to see the inconsistency in their COVID 19 policy. A cute handmade poster in the door window says "masks required to enter". I do comply. But, a worker, maybe the manager, allowed his mask to hang from his ear as he invited his mask less friend into the shop. Great bagels. Minimal concern for public health. I am hoping they will install a drive-thru so I can return.

i came in about 20 minutes before close (sorry!) and had a group order infront of me. despite making the other folks order while theyre trying to close the restaurant i didnt have a long wait at all. I got a turkey BLT wrap. the lettuce was very fresh and crispy and tomatos juicey and sweet. The bacon had great flavor and a nice crunch and they gave a nice portion of turkey to fill the wrap. Not a big breakfast person personally, but if i want a nice fresh lunch i know a great option!

I ordered an everything bagel, with cream cheese on the side. I confirmed it was baked this morning, so I said just sliced in half, not toasted. Toasting is for refreshing day-old bagels, IMHO. However here at Joey's, I think toasting is a Must to help finish the baking process! I found the bagel to be under-proofed, improperly boiled (was it boiled?), under-baked, and had hardly a shake of everything seasoning. I had high hopes, but it was just kinda ok. I do think this "style" bagel would make a pretty good sandwich, which is what most orders seemed to be. Staff were very friendly! Got a side of egg salad to take home and it was pretty good. I miss excellent proper bagels so much . Maybe I'll just start baking them myself lol!

They need to cross out the NY from their name. It shouldn't take almost an hour for a egg sandwich that wasn't really all that. If they were located in NYC I'm sure they would be out of business or worst.

Good place to stop for breakfast heading into/out of Asheville. The bagels are pretty big and make great sandwiches. Their prices are average I guess but can get pricey with add ons.

We order take out here at least once a week. Orders are always correct and the food is amazing. Great staff all are very friendly and welcoming.

A surprise to find a bagel place in Western NC. Their bagels are pretty good. Im spoiled by water bagels from the shore. However, i've been there a couple of times. They are consistent and flavorful. They are very generous with the cream cheese. Its not the new york type but its good. You ought to also order one with no topping. You will have enough from the first one for both. I had a bialy once. Eat their bagels!

Best pumpernickel bagels in the world!!!! Blueberry bagels are also delicious! Their house made cream cheese's are fantastic, strawberry is a family favorite! If you like bagels, you will love Joey's!

This place was good. If I had to stop again I would. There's a gas station in the same parking lot and it's next to the highway. The thing that kept this from being 3 stars was the staff. The employees there was VERY friendly, polite and patient. Who ever was working on 12/5/21 around 1pm make sure you praise them. This place is pretty reasonable and everything tasted fresh. The only thing stopping this place from getting 5 stars was the ceiling. The ceiling tiles were covered in water stains and clearly haven't been replaced in some time. Also, the dust overhead. If you close in the afternoon there's no reason why maybe once a quarter, maybe even more frequently, you can't have the team for the day deep clean. If you are the an employee or the owner and you read this, I mean no disrespect but cmon now. Gotta put the same passion Into the cleanliness of the business as you do the food.

Awesome bagels. Joe the owner is a great Christian man that runs his business in and with love! Great staff. Easy to order ahead online and easy to reorder from prior orders.

Visiting Asheville from out of town and stopped on the way out Sunday morning. Excellent selection of bagels and breakfast foods. A Big Beginning wrap was the recommendation from behind the counter and it was amazing. Tasty and Huge! ( no lunch today, I guess!) and my wife's bagel was much better than she's had from chains back home. Joey's has been added to the permanent list of stops when we're in Asheville. It was great.

I love this place!! I especially love their lox bagels that make my husband so happy. Always fresh and good, so big all flavors. We have enjoyed them on multiple occasions and it's our go to for guests!!

Joey's Bagels was a place my girlfriend just HAD to try... twice! She's from New York and has high standards. Joey's Bagels did not disappoint. The first day we ate there, we all got sandwiches which were delicious! We also drove back by on our way back home and got some breakfast sandwiches which were also very tasty. The bagels weren't dense like the ones in other bagel shops or the super market. They were light, just like a bagel should be. They set all 5 of us up right for our 8+ hour trip back home.

I have always enjoyed the food here, BUT they have got to fix their ticket system. ive had my order "lost" multiple times, and I can see from the reviews (and talking to employees here) that it is a serious recurring issue.

Always a pleasant experience at Joey's! Love choice of bagels and different cream cheese options. A favorite combo of mine is the cheddar bagel with jalapeño cream cheese!
