I went to try the boba shop next door and the smell of this panaderia/bakery brought me to the door. It smelled so good outside. It's hard to see if you drive by but you'll see a small little chef statue outside the door. They only allow 4 people at a time and only accept cash. The staff is kind. The selection is excellent they sell pan dulce and make cakes. I will be looking into them next time I need a cake but for now I just tried their Mexican bread which was great quality and it matched the good aromas that aired out into the street.

Drinking wine always leads us to eat fresh bread. This place had plenty of breads to choose from and at a very reasonable price. We liked all three of our choices. We also bought cold waters (1 large & 1 small). This only cost us $5.00 for everything! We wish this was close to us back home

What a lovely surprise! This unassuming establishment is a typical Mexican bakery where you take your tray and tongs and select your own pan dulce! I came in early in the morning, picked out a few items and, as the owner was ringing me up, I noticed they only take cash. As I legitimately didn't have any cash on me, I told her to stop bagging up my treats as I didn't have any cash. "No worries!" she said. "I'm the owner and I will give these to you. That way, you'll go home, you'll taste it and like it, and you'll come back." I was shocked by the generosity and genuineness. So refreshing, and the pan dulce was yummy too. 5 stars for a great bakery with a kind owner and exceptional customer service.

Joey’s Bakery did an amazing job of creating this birthday cake. It looks so good and was made with frosting. They worked with me calling close to date and helped me out so much. Thankful to them for a wonderful surprise!

I remember they used to be really good and they still aren't bad but their quality has significantly gone down enough to warrant only 3 stars instead of 4. If you want Mexican sweet bread get it here!

My friend bought a Tres Leche cake for a get together and I can't remember the last time I've been so impressed with a cake! It was absolutely beautiful... I don't know what she paid for it, but the beauty of it was right up there with Sweetie, pies and other high-end bakeries! I can't believe I didn't get a picture, but maybe it's something they make quite often. It just had the most beautiful yellow flowers on the top. Seriously, I was blown away! She said the people were just as friendly as ever! I never knew Mexican bakeries made cakes either! I thought they only made pastries! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This place opens before and closes way later than any other bakery in the area, which makes it a gem since all other bakeries in Napa are only open for a short window during my working hours, or so it seems (would love to be corrected!). I went here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of pastries. But also incredibly confused because nothing is labeled. No matter, I picked up 8 different items anyway for a total of $11. Of the four I've tried so far, the one must-have is definitely the concha. I was lucky to get one as soon as they came out of the oven, so you know I ate that one in the car! It was soft with a balanced sweetness that I really liked. Would've been fantastic with a cup of coffee. Looking forward to the surprise of trying the rest!

Wow! This place is just a little bakery tucked in across the street from Napa HS. I've always meant to try it but just never had. After the usual donut place was closed on. a Saturday (weird, right?!?) we went here and were blown away! My daughter and I grabbed a tray and tongs and proceeded to load up on all the goodness! I got a croissant, she got cake and then we picked out a few donuts and conchas - 6 huge items and it came to less than $10 We will be back! And we will be telling everyone we know. Picture is of our super soft and spongy cake with sweet pink icing - not dry at all!

Donuts are practically inedible, tasted like day old donuts and the chocolate icing also not good, plus being cash only is inconvenient.

Trash. Don't come here unless you want some old pastries. Bought to churros today and they tasted like they've been sitting out for week. Went straight to the trash. Never again. Today was the third time I came here and my sh*t tasted like it was weeks old.

Absolutely enjoy Joey's Bakery. The customer service is always prime -they are helpful and provide service with a smile. One of the best conchas around. If you grew up in Napa, you know Joey's. Even during this difficult time, Joey's provides the best customer service to their guests. & I even when we need a last minute potluck snack, Joey's is able to provide. Gracias por todo!

BEST EVER TRES LECHES!!!!!. We ordered our engagement cake from Joey's Bakery, and all of our guests devoured the Tres Leches and the two layered cake (red velvet and champagne) Their cake were very soft and fluffy and the presentation was on point. Ordering the cake was very easy and timely; communication was on point! I could not compare their pastry anywhere else just because they're just truly the best Mexican bakery! Please don't miss out and try their goodies!!!!

From NOLA to Napa and were looking for a cake for our sons birthday.. not only did we get the cake he wanted and also found Cuban, Mexican and Honduras pastries. AMAZING!

First time here at this little place in Napa! Ran into it as i had lunch at a close by restaurant and thought i would ck it out as it says Mexican pastries! I bought several pastrie items , reasonable prices just note they only take CASH. I saw the sign after i grabbed the pastries! The gal at register was not very friendly! They also custom bake cakes for all occassions and sale milk and some other drinking items! After i got home that evening my family shared different pastries and overall the were just ok. A little on the dry side. My favorite ones that have custard in them that have a flaky bread crust to them barely had any custard in comparison to some other places! Definately will not come back! To bad really was hoping this little business was better! Hopefully the custom cake business is better!

This bakery is very yummy. The only downfall it has it doesn't accept card payments. The bread itself is so delicious.

Found out they sell tiny conchas here, its a very small place and I was confused as to where it was even with the GPS but I found it! Parking is a bit hard to find but qs you enter the bakery the smell of fresh baked bread is sooo gooood!!! The tiny conchas werre delicious and served warm! You do have to call a day in advance for the tiny conchas but they had regular sized conchas baked.

We bought four pastries and the total was under $5... Ummm I didn't know this existed. Staff were super friendly and helpful telling us about some of their traditional Mexican pastries and how best to eat them. Cash only. I loved the price but wasn't sure if that would reflect the quality... Nope, everything was so good. Super fresh, their cream donut was cut in half to add the filling so every bite you get filling vs every other joint that just shoves filling into the donut through a tube so 3/4 of the donut is dry except the 1/4 that's overfilled with filling. Overall, wish I got more items. Great bang for your buck.

They laugh at you if you don't speak Spanish when you call. The lady grabbed another girl so she could speak to me, which- okay cool. Then they'll be so busy laughing and talking while on the phone with you they'll ask you to repeat yourself twice.

This bakery has always come through with all my crazy cake requests! But today they went above and beyond. Very grateful for them and the custom conchas they did for me!! Staff is very helpful as always too!! Check the picture out!

Made an unbelievable cake last minute for my mom while we traveled to Napa. The cake was delicious and look amazing.

They don't always have fresh bread out, but the bread is good. Also, I usually go elsewhere to buy bread because even though they've been open for years now, they only accept cash and I hardly ever have cash on me.

Worst customer service. Don't recommend this place. I'd rather go to a bakery that tries so make their customers happy with their purchase. Will be supporting other local bakeries.

This place is pretty awesome. It's a random mexican bakery that have all sorts of delicious baked bread-y goods. You come in, grab a lunch tray, tongs and basically get whatever you want (self serve). When you're done you pay. everything they offer is at a super reasonable price (i want to say .50cents - $2). They don't speak stellar english so don't expect too much (like a full description on what the item is made out of or what not), but they are super friendly. one of my lately routine is to get my coffee and stop by here for a morning treat (cheaper than at those coffee shops).

I used to like this bakery they used to have a huge variety of breads daily, but now you go in and there's not many options. Cake wise not my favorite, I've had a couple issues on previous orders, the one in the picture is one of the best cakes I've had done there it was ok. On a positive note if you are lucky fresh warm conchas are out on display and dinner rolls! Downside is they only take cash and I'm the type to never have cash on me and relies on my debit card so that's an inconvenience.

The three cakes were delicious, but when I ordered a birthday cake for my wife, I asked for a chocolate tres leches cake, they gave me a vanilla tres leches cake instead. My wife was very disappointed that she didn't get what we asked for. A few weeks later, we were in Napa and ordered another one, thinking we would get what we want finally for my wife. What we got was the chocolate cake we wanted, but it was not a tres leches cake. Again, very disappointed. We called and spoke to the owner, she looked at the notes and identified what went wrong. Very respectful, great customer service and she rectified the problem by replacing the correct flavor for free. Thank you very much for doing that. Please read your receipt before you leave the bakery everyone.

The cake was late and they did not follow my request with the color of flowers. Very disappointed with the cake and their service. We are not coming back.

Last minute ordered a cake for our niece, and this what we got! It was sooo amazing, beautiful , and super delicious! Joeys Bakery is my go to for all my bakery needs from now on!

yum! i've been eating goodies from joey's since i was a youngin. the only thing changing is the prices, i wish i could still be spending $5 for a handful of goodies, but i get that's where food is heading. anyways still would recommend. can't really go wrong here if you're in the mood for something handmade and sweet. it always satisfies my dessert craving, wether in the form of a conche (pink), a bright cookie, bread pudding dull to the eyes, but bright with flavor, or anything else! all good, and i'm usually drawn to something filled with cream, as well as a colorful sprinkle-y something.

Got a Tres Leches cake for my birthday and it was so beautiful and delicious! I ordered 1/4 sheet cake which was more than enough! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back here to get more sweets!

I got food at tres leches cake for my boyfriend because it's his favorite time. The cake was absolutely delicious (according to the Tres leches connoisseur ) and the staff was friendly and quick.

First of all, this business only accepts cash and when I asked them why they had a POS and do not accept cash, they shrugged their shoulders and did not seem to care. My family ordered a cake and it came in a pastry box without a lid. From a food safety perspective, that is not a good way to deliver a cake to a customer. They don't have boxes large enough for a small cake. That was their excuse. I hope they can get their act together. I like to support small business who take pride in their work.

I recently bought a Tres Leches cake for a family event. I was given a 4p pick up time. I arrived at 4:30p and I had to sit in my car and wait in 90+ degrees for another 30m. Ok, well they're popular and have 1 baker, I was told. Fine. Took the cake back to the party and sliced up a flavorless and dry Tres Leches cake. If that wasn't bad enough, the blue frosting totally made a mess of people's teeth, mouths, even fingers. The blue frosting stains!! That bit of info would've been good to know. Thankfully it was a home family event. I can't even imagine if it had been a Quincenera or a baby shower or heaven forbid a wedding. Honestly it would have been awful!! I will never spend money at this bakery. Next time I'd rather try Safeway.

Ordered the most amazing tres leches cake for my boyfriend's birthday while visiting Napa. They followed my decoration request perfectly and the cake was super moist and delicious! Definitely would recommend :)

I love this bakery. Their bread is baked fresh every morning, it is so soft and delicious. They only take cash, so be sure to bring some with you, though you wont need much as everything is very inexpensive. I wish I lived a little closer, I would be there every week.

I went to a friend's 40th Birthday party with a tres leches cake that came from Joey's. It was absolutely amazing. So light and creamy, with a frosting that was just the right amount. In a room filled with Hispanic people they all agreed that this is the best tres leche cake anyone has had. I do not live close to Napa, but plan on having my friend from that area come to my next party just so he can bring the cake. Nice work Joey's Bakery!

My sister LOVES Tres Leches cake. I had read all the reviews on Joey's Bakery, and they did not disappoint! They had a cooler filled with beautifully decorated cakes, and I chose one that was airbrushed yellow with white and green flowers. Everyone at the party said it was one of the best cakes they had ever had. FYI- A whole cake is $30, and they are cash only.

What an awesome bakery! Thankful to have found this little gem via Yelp! The Tres Leches cake that I had ordered for my parents anniversary did not disappoint! I ordered it in advance and had them put on an edible photo I had ordered on line. The result was fantastic and everyone at the party LOVED the cake. Not only did it look beautiful, but it tasted delicious! it was so fresh and even on day 4 (it was a big cake), it was so moist and flavorful. We will definitely be using them for any celebration we have!

Great pastries. But they need to start taking cards. The "cash only" element is sketch. Especially while we have a shelter in place and cash is dirty.

Best bakery in town! When I asked my husband what he would miss most about Napa when we move he named this place. Pastries are always fresh and delicious! Definitely a great spot to hit up.

Came in here for the first time on Saturday to pickup two dozen pieces of pan dulce for a family party. They had such a wide selection, and the final price was super reasonable. The two women working at the time were friendly and offered me a taste of a fresh Rosca de Reyes (ring-shaped sweet bread to celebrate the upcoming Feast of the Epiphany or Día de Reyes) that had just come out of the oven. I only had a sliver, but it was delicious! The pan dulce I purchased was equally as delicious. I've had my fair share of pan dulce throughout my life, and I'm highly critical of new places. The bread was SO fresh! I could tell because I had a piece the next day, and it was still as soft as ever. I'd highly recommend Joey's Bakery for pan dulce! I can't speak to the pre-ordered cakes, which seem to be the what many of the negative reviews focus on. FYI, it is cash only.

We stopped in here when we were staying a block away at the Chardonnay Lodge. Estella, the owner was wonderful, warm and friendly. She took a few minutes to chat and tell us about her business and how she built it. The pastries were excellent, and they made a fresh pot of coffee for us too. took a bag with us to share with friends, who were very happy to get such yummy snacks. Highly recommend.

I wish I could give them 6 stars... Amazing cheap ,clean , friendly staff . They have the same fresh OJ machine as whole paycheck at a fraction of the cost. I am always they lily white guy tho I don't mind ...

Wow. Best deal ever!! $2 for an amazing cream filled, powdered sugar-dusted pastry and a jelly filled churro. A true diamond in the rough.

Yummy jalapeno cream cheese buns! An middle aged scumbag male was tacky, cutting in lines aggressively. Its best not to come on Sunday at 9:15 a.m. where some get crazy trying to cut in front of people that were waiting patiently before. Only one single cashier and she was too busy to monitor the cheaters cutting. Its like a Walmart Black Friday crowd. It is self serve. You get a red tray, have to ask for the tongs and get your pastry then stand in the long line.
