Awesome place to be! I really appreciate the welcoming staff. I am there regularly to play some card games with a big group, which is not self-evident and I am truly grateful for the opportunity! For me one of the biggest advantages is the warmth towards LGBTQ* community. The drinks are good, the food was delicious and has good portions, for a fair price. I love a good pub and the John Barleycorn did not disappoint! The place feels really authentic. When you walk through the door, the traditional bar stand welcomes you. However, this place also offers a larger dining area, private room and outdoor seating in the back. They have a large selection of beer and whiskey as well as a variety of other beverages in case that's not your thing. JB offers a small menu and I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie. It was so good that I'm thinking about going again. The lamb and vegetables in brown gravy topped with mashed potatoes was fantastic. My friend had the Bangers & Mash which was also very tasty. They also offer fish and chips as well as burgers so there's something for everyone. I believe they offer a pub quiz (I think Mondays) but I didn't stay long enough to join. Anyhow, I'm always looking for something a little different when it comes to cuisine. I love this place. It's a quick 5 minute walk from the Stadthaus tram stop in the Altstadt. You should treat yourself!

Draught Guinness, my favourite, served very well. Thank you. There were four of us for an evening meal we tried previously but they were stacked out the wait made it even better. A great pub with proper beer and proper Pub food I had the Irish sausages which were delicious, we all enjoyed our meals. The service was very attentive but not overly which is great. Thank you for a great evening. We loved it. Oh probably a good idea to book rather than be disappointed.

For being a bar, the food is surprisingly good. Even better, the service is friendly and attentive. Early in the evening, it’s great for kids because it’s not busy and there is a big darts area where they can run around.
