11 Best Parks in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"If you ask for directions to John Hendry Park, you’ll get blank stares—it’s known to locals as "Trout Lake Park" after the body of water that's its centerpiece and focal point of this 67-acre former peat bog. The lake has a lovely freshwater beach; swimming is allowed, and from May to September there are lifeguards on duty. In winter, if the lake freezes solid enough to skate on—this has happened once in the past 20 years—it doubles as an outdoor rink." - Guy Saddy

This is a beautiful city park with lots of parking around this park. It has a free run dog park in the northern beach. The southern beach park are open for swimming in summer. The views are beautiful all year round. It's good having a long of short walk around the lake or a half lake. There are lots of people come here for fall colours.

It's a beautiful park near the city, offering serene views and a peaceful atmosphere. Whether you're looking to go for a gentle walk, have a picnic, or just enjoy some quiet time by the water, this place is perfect. The trails are well-maintained and provide easy access to enjoy the natural beauty. It's also a great spot to relax near the water and a very good place for the kids to play in the playground nearby. The park is clean and well cared for, making it an ideal location for family outings or a solo adventure. It's definitely worth a visit if you like the outdoors and want to reconnect with nature.

Very lovely and great place to spend the day. The beach is nice and we did see some people swimming but the park itself it perfect for a leisurely stroll. We saw a lot of happy dogs with their humans. Daughter and I were at the farmers market and there were a lot of interesting stalls and food trucks. The port a potties near the farmers market are really indescribably bad. No paper, water is non functional and potty super dirty. Hand sanitizer is provided. A better option are the clean and bountiful washrooms at the arena which is a ten minute walk through the park. It’s best to plan ahead so you are in close proximity to these nice facilities when the need arises, but, if you gotta go…..

A really nice city park with lake and mountain view at the north. It's good for all season. Either you only want a quiet place to stroll around or bring your family. Good for kids too. There are a beach for swimming in summer. It's closed to the community centre with lot of parking. Autumn is the good time visiting for the fall pictures here. It's the time go to take some pictures if you like fall.

This is such a nice park, met a good friend here today there was lots of parking available. All the cherry blossoms were coming out, the back side of the lake where the boardwalks used to be were a bit flooded still and the whole park was still kinda muddy, I noticed lots of people not picking up after there dogs. That's really annoying! There is a sandy beach on far right side and trails that go all the way around with lots of fields nice view of the mountains. This place definitely takes me back. Spent lots of time here with good friends.

Great park with two playground areas, lots of baseball and grass fields, a mini beach, a small concession stand, and even a gazebo area for BBQ-ing, birthdays, and other events. Lots of interesting characters can be found hanging out here. There are paths that loops around the lake for both walkers and bikers - it’s about 1 km in distance. Lots of benches located around the lake; washrooms on either side of the lake are available for public use. Also a great place to walk your dog and let him/her roam around in the off-leash areas. Park is well kept and very clean. The associated community centre was renovated a while back and has a great gym and skating rink.

An urban oasis and one of my favorite places to walk through. There is a loop that goes through the park, the pond, a community center and on Saturdays in spring/summer, the farmers market. They often have events like live music in the evenings in summer. It's fun to check out the different people gathering. There is also a concession and beach, as well as a kids playground and bathrooms. Only one of the beaches is dog friendly.

There is a beautiful park!! ✨ I feel always confortable when I walk around here. There are many animals.(squirrels, canada goose, a lot of birds)Many people walk their dogs, walk, run or exercise. It is very pleasant to be in this park and you will lose track of time.

Yelp
This is a famous urban park in Vancouver, and even in Winter it's busy on the weekends (no swimming!). There's a redevelopment being planned, so it can only get better!
