I live near I love the park but the new athletic areas (you know the cages in our park). The one at the end 13 no parking 13. I makes people park everywhere during games. People that live here can't. Not normally! Illegal parking and safety of the kids is at about 0% and never a cop like they get those days off! Not impressed at all 0 stars if possible ✨️

Awesome park other than how it's ran by the city. Like for example how they removed the lights from the skatepark 🛹 with no timeline when they will be reinstalled. Even the dang dog park has some lights at night. Amarillo City Park and rec. Is absolutely trash!

Watched the senior softball league play. Bathrooms clean and open for use during the evening game. Had popcorn and candy vendor! Nice park. Parking lots has a few holes but lots of parking available.

I enjoy this park for walking and playing. The playground is great for little and big kids. 😉

The grounds crew needs to be replaced with one that has played softball or had experience working on infield because the bases are often in the wrong spots, the infield has "waves" from improper dragging and the lines are rarely ever straight.

In the 2+ years I've lived here, the dog park has deteriorated. This year, it's been closed for months (we were originally told 3-4 weeks) while they "work" on improvements & seeding. This is our favorite spot to come to so I wish the city would get this project completed.

Good park...always water for the pups. Could use a little more seating areas for the people, but it's not bad. Nice people and well behaved dogs.

Yelp
A dog park? It seems to be more like a fenced in, uncared for field with one doggy bag station, 3 small trees and no breed restriction. At the time of our visit there were two pitbulls, one of which was humping every dog it could get its paws on, without any attempt at behavior adjustment from the owner. Those already in the park seemed to know each other well. It appears best for those who have a good sense of what their dog can handle. The good news is that the remainder of the park provides a good amount of space to walk or run with a leashed dog on real grass or paved paths. Plenty of trees in the rest of the park.

Yelp
This park was nice and big. It had a water station and a good sturdy chainlink fence. It also has benches throughout. I liked that if you have a somewhat shy around other dogs kid, like we do, there is enough room she can do her own thing. For us, it was a nice pit stop for the dog to stretch her legs, run a bit, and get back on the road.

Yelp
Very nice park. We'd been told there was a really cool playground area and when we first drove up to the playground area, at first we only saw the older, less exciting equipment and were a bit confused. If you drive around just a little more, you'll find the bigger, nicer playground equipment and it's awesome. It's really spacious and big and has a boat thing that I've never seen at another park before. There are also lots of swings and there's a walking track to walk dogs and an area where dogs can play as well. Very nice park.

Yelp
This park is awesome. My dogs loved it. End to end it's at least 100 yards. We didn't find any problems with the fencing. There's one water fountain. Mostly grass, some dirt patches. It's one size fits all for dogs though.. 10lbs and 40lbs playing together when I was there. It took me awhile to find it. You can't get there from the pond side of the park. You need to enter from the Bell Street side.

Yelp
Very decent dog park! Plenty of parking. Great social atmosphere for dogs. Owners are respectful and nice to people and pets coming in. The water fountain is wonky due to some type of water pressure issue but we figured out how to use it ok. Overall a great location to bring your dog or puppy.

Yelp
No grass, just weeds. Only one tiny light to light up this large enclosed dog park. Not safe environment for disabled or women at night. Not enough benches and especially ones around the one and only light fixture. People congregate at entrance which creates an unsafe environment especially for older, disabled, or small animals that are terrified of big dogs. Half the people just ignore their animals and chit chat with other people so when their animal acts up or uses the bathroom, they don't do anything or clean up after their pet(s). My black lab was attacked by a large bullmastiff and a brindle boxer, the man who owned the two aggressive dogs did nothing and didn't help me one bit. In fact, when another man came to aid me and help carry my bloody pup out of this awful place, the guy with the aggressive animals took off like a coward. I was out of pocket over a $1,000 thanks to that despicable cowards aggressive dogs. My black lab still suffers from the trauma from that event. I've seen people with un-neutered animals or puppies with no shots. Hence, the spread of Parvovirus.

Yelp
This dog park is better than 2 stars. I'd give it 5 if they had a separate park for small dogs/big dogs and more grass. But it's a big fenced space in a nice recreational area. If you don't want to be in the dog park you can go walk around the playground or skate park or wherever. The space is huge. The gps got me to the entrance of the rec area but just keep going and follow along on Shoshone trl from 48th street

Yelp
This is a large park for dogs, and sadly one of the only ones in town. The fence on the far end of the play area is broken. If you're not watching your dog, they can get out. Most of the park is weeds and mud. People don't pick up after their dogs and much less watch them. I stopped coming here because I've had way too many bad experiences with people who don't watch their dogs. If your dog is aggressive or still doesn't know/listen to commands, you shouldn't bring your dog here. Bad pet owners and poor maintenance makes this a terrible place.

Yelp
As a visitor from out of town, this dog park was awesome. It's a big fenced park and my Basset Hound Linus loved that water cooler! The people and other dogs were nice. Maybe a few more benches in the shade would be nice. Thank you, Amarillo, for a nice visit!

Yelp
On our way to CO we stopped at this park to stretch our legs (human and canine alike). Would skip this next time.

Yelp
I've used this dog park multiple times. It's not properly cared for. The grass is patchy and it's mostly weeds and stickers. Benches are too far apart along the path to walk around the park. My husky was able to escape the hole through the fence and that was an interesting wild goose chase!! He went after a duck! I saved the duck of course by my goodness!! He also ran into oncoming traffic he is not a city dog he's a farm dog used to a mile and a half long country road where we are the only house for miles...I stopped because he'd been in the pickup a long time and needed a break Well we both got our workout in that day that's for sure!! And some people don't follow the large dog small dog rules for separation and it's upsetting my jack russel almost got ate my a Doberman. If you think I won't scalp somebody over my dog you're wrong.
