Live music and great vibe but for me the highlight was the bar back John!! He helped me and my friends play the hoop game in the back and once I got it he bought me a drink. He was so friendly and made our first time there the best! Definitely going back to visit John

Another great evening on the Ave. This is always our first stop & sometimes our only stop. Happy hour drink discounts, a variety of burgers, salads & appetizers, & live music. Service is always solid. Special shout-out to John the bar back (aka Old John, aka Grandpa), who stopped by several times to ask how we were doing. A favorite place for locals & tourists alike

Went for the first time and had an incredible experience from start to finish! The energy was high, the drinks were on point, and the service was top-tier. Have to shoutout to bar-back John, he was an absolute blast to be around and made the night even better by grabbing my friend a drink after she won a game out back. Can’t wait to come back!

I have been to Johnnie Brown's 3 times now and it is always a great time! Great live bands, always gets busy on even the Thursday nights. The wings were really good and crispy!

Had a great time chilling to some music in the afternoon and enjoyed the Delray Drip so much. My favorite drink on the avenue — “Refreshing, hydrating, and a little intoxicating… because you deserve it all.” We had a blast vibing with Slip and left feeling great !

Such a great place to relax, enjoy some tunes, and people-watch. I've been here several times throughout the day, and it never fails to deliver a good time. The beer selection on tap is always solid with lots of choices. I haven't tried the food myself, but everyone raves about it, and the dishes always look amazing. Dogs are welcome, so feel free to bring your furry friend for some people-watching. Just a heads up, smoking is allowed here, so it might not be ideal if you're sensitive to it.

They never opened for lunch yesterday. If they changed the hours of operation, they should update Yelp.

Johnnie Brown's is defintely the typical bar atmosphere and food. I got a cheeseburger and garlic parm fries. The burger was juicy and pretty good but it was lacking cheese I don't know if they just use thin slices but if I were to go back I'd ask for extra cheese. The garlic parm fries were really good and my husband was stealing them off my plate. I'd defintely come back here if I wanted a safe bet on food and not trying to venture out. The service was a little rough constantly trying to grab our waiters attention because the music was so loud which is something they're known for. Other than that it was average. 3/5 food 2.5/5 service

Was walking around Atlantic Ave in Delray and decided to stop hear for lunch. While place is open sir and honestly really has no ambience, but maybe the lack of it is the ambience. Anyway, service was great. My wife had a Cobb salad that she said was great. I had the Baja Chicken ( grilled breast ) sandwich served with fries and it was very good.

Great location but overpriced. And if you try to redeem the Free Beer offer from Yelp be prepared for the staff to laugh and not honor it. Again, cool location, but $7.00 for a Yuenling Draft is excessive even for Delray.

Love this place! Great atmosphere! Amazing food! Superb service! Loved the presentation of the food! We were eying the GIANT nacho platter but it was too big for two people so we didn't get them.

Great place for live music and to hangout. Went here on a Sunday evening great place just to relax and listen to some good music! Food was fantastic and service was great too. Always a good place to stop.

This review is highly for the food because we were kind of scared/ didn't think the food would be good but we were surprised!! My dad got the classic burger and i got the good old smokey. Though they were not on the desired temperature they were still juicy. Fries fresh and bun Server always checking if we were ok and drinks were brought promptly. Environment as always so fun and entertaining!!

Great service, great entertainment. Karaoke with an actual band was amazing. Everyone was having a great time. As far as sanitation behind the bar it was (to put it in nice way) it was disappointing. I would not order anything that had ice in it. Somebody needs to clean this place up. The odor was unbearable. I'm sorry. I wanted to stay and end the night here with a meal, but I couldn't.

Awesome open air bar with live music every day and fun people watching along Atlantic Ave. Came for some drinks on a Friday night. Morgan, our server, was fun and super attentive. Such a great spot.

The music on Sunday night was fun and got the crowd moving. However, the food not so good. The burger was ok but not great. Juicy but not very flavorful. The honey garlic wings need seasoning too. And how do you mess up French fries? A little salt may have saved them. We found the drinks a lot watered down too. Staff was nice. Music was as fun too.

Tiki boom boom wings (came out piping hot & were delicious) and girls just wanna have fun drink (strong and sweet which I love) we're great. Group of 3 we were attended to within mins of being seated, drinks & food come out fast. The ambiance is very loud as they have a live band. It is mainly an open space so people watch the band from the sidewalk as well. Our waiter (sorry don't remember your name his name tall, round glasses, dreads) you were very nice & attentive he helped me (Afro girl) order the wings as I wasn't sure what to choose from. Live band escape the brain was great as well!

Service is great. The bartenders are fast and efficient If you go for karaoke, make sure you're on the list. We had some issues. We were assured that we would be on the list, but that was not true. Got into uncalled for altercation...so weird. Probably not going back. Like I said bar is great. Do what you want with entertainment.

AMAZING PLACE! Such a good atmosphere and an amazing place to go to right after a day at the beach in Delray. I love watching the shows and watching folks dance. They have Elvis on Mondays and it's such an amazing vibe. I loooove the wings here soooo delicoous oh my goodness. Amazing service even when it's busy.

This self seating restaurant is pretty good and a fun scene on the main strip of Delray Beach. There is live music and lots of waiters all around. Took about 7 minutes to see a server last night after-- he was alright. Not super attentive but the food and drinks came out quickly and tasted pretty good. My dad was not a big fan of the not pictured coconut shrimp but I liked them a lot with the sauce they were served with. The ribs were very tender. The bbq quesadilla was not very melted with cheese. If this was the only thing I ate here I would probably give them one less star. I didn't try the sliders but my dad and step mom really liked them. Overall I would come back.

The bbq ribs were falling off the bone so juicy and flavorful! The Baja chicken sandwich was delicious had enough of a kick to not be that spicy but delicious! The service was nice and friendly and attentive! Live music at 2 in the afternoon is always a plus!

Johnnie Brown is a place you need to go in Delray Beach if you love good rock music. They have bands everyday that play different kinda of rock style for every audience. We have been there quite a few times but we recently tried their burgers and definitely was surprised at how good it tasted!

We stopped in for a leisurely snack with the gang and the dog. I love that it's dog friendly and they gave him a bowl of water right off the bat. The drinks were given promptly as well. We ordered the fish dip and some French fries. They were both delicious. When the train goes by they give out 1/2 off shots, which is amazing! The guy singing was awesome, and played a variety of music that wasn't too loud (since it was daytime). The only thing that wasn't great were the bathrooms--they were gross. But, the service, atmosphere, and food made up for it! **we already started eating before I took the picture**

Awful night - they know. Aggressive bouncer bashes my ladies toe taking stools away in a section that was not busy. We had been happy and chillin there for an hour. Manager could not have cared less. It's ok we have dozens of friends we bring there during the year, but we can find plenty of other spots for local music. Part of the band didn't even show up so they were piecing the music together on a Friday, might as well have been Karaoke. Not the Johnnie Browns we all knew and loved!

If you want a good time, affordable good food this is the spot !!! Every visit my brother makes from Philadelphia this is his number one spot !! And thier live band is always on point !! The servers are always attentive regardless how busy it gets.

A Monday nite includes live classic rock songs sung. Travis always provides great service caring welcoming and makes a guest feel comfortable. My favorite entree to date is the chopped salad and mahi with lots of really tasty veggies included in the salad the fish grilled to perfection could not have been better

Johnnie Browns is a great spot for live music and good food. I've been a few times and every time I go, I'm really impressed with the quality of the food and mix of spices in each dish. The nachos are huge and perfect for a group . The coconut shrimp were crispy and served with a mango chutney! One of my favorite appetizers is the grilled marinated chicken breast with toasted pita and tzatziki sauce! Yum! My favorite part of the meal was the Baja Chicken Sandwich. It was the perfect amount of spice. All of the chicken dishes are fire! They know how to marinate and cook them perfect. For delicious food and people watching , head to johnnies!

One of the first places I came to when I moved to Florida 25yrs ago. It has changed since. Used to be a Harley hangout. Service is on point. Very attentive. I came for a late quick lunch so not many people here. Server came over right away. Food came out quickly and was very good. The tzatziki sauce could be better but overall very good. No AC so. Summers can be miserable but it is Nov and beautiful outdoor weather! Atlantic Ave people watching beat corner to be.

First of all what a fun place...as me and my friend walked in the incredible house band was playing one of my favorite carlos Santana songs " black magic woman" which for the sake of trivia was performed by santana at the 2nd woodstock in 94 not at the original woodstock. Located right near the train tracks this place has got some personality. In fact the sign there says if youvare ordering shots whilst the train goes by then your shot is half off. Go figure. The band was awesome and they performed classick rock hits , funk and some other tunes like " another brick in the wall "and purple rain". People are lining outside on Saturday night to see this band play. These girls shared the crazy big ass nachos with us because when you order them you cant finish them. Me and my friends will most definitely be back again. Very entertaining. I was not gonna go because I heard it was a biker bar and sometimes you have to go outside your comfort zone and even though you might think " short Jewish guy from chicago at a biker bar eh? " sometimes you have to go for it in life.im glad I did. My cousin was here on monday and said there was some type of elvis impersonator and her and her husband also had a good time.

They always have a huge crowd at Johnnie Brown's so if you want a table get there early. Otherwise you'll be five deep on the sidewalk and won't be able to get near the bar. Food is good, and drinks are not really priced bad. But it's sooooo hot inside so maybe the sidewalk is a better choice if you just want to listen to music. One of the most popular places on the Ave.

Plan on a two hour sound check so wierd! food was good but for a Saturday night it's 8:40 and the band has had a two hour sound check no music so annoying !

So much fun! Casual, cool FL lifestyle vibe. Live music you can hear throughout the street, nice crowd - not roughty, a perfect spot to grab a few coronas. Definitely be ok standing as many people sitting inside get there early and mark their territory all night! (Smart but will need to come back).

Crazy fun !!! On the infamous Atlantic Ave, great for casual fun food like burgers, & they have great bands. We have all along the avenue and there's always a group outside the bar enjoying the band. Place is always packed .

Outdoor and airy which makes it the perfect spot to stop for a cold beverage to enjoy some live music. Servers are helpful amid on point when it comes to drink refills and your food. Dog friendly and a great spot to sit back, relax and people watch. A definite go-to when we find ourselves in Delray.

This is a fab place to hear live music. The crowd is a mixture of 20 somethings and up Its great that the walls are open so you get a bit of breeze and you can sit curbside and watch the band.

Fun, casual, indoor/outdoor, affordable joint just on the strip in Delray Beach, just over the RR tracks on Atlantic. Drink specials, live music, good casual food and service. We stopped in early eve after walking around the art fest on Sat 12/2/23. We grabbed a table in the bar overlooking the sidewalk (I like to people watch). We shared an order of the spicy Korean boneless wings (yum) and a half rack of some of the best baby back ribs I have had in a long time. These literally fell off the bone and had a ton of meat on them. Drinks were generous and our server was very attentive. Will gladly be back soon!

We were recommended to come here by our waitress Lisa, who works at Deck 84. She said it was a funky fun bar that she likes to check out and she didn't steer us wrong. On Monday night they have a live Elvis tribute band /impersonator and on Tuesday they had a Rod Stewart tribute band/ impersonator. We picked to come Tuesday and HotRod definitely had us feeling "Forever young" They have already created cocktails, a full bar, and offer shot specials. The bar is right next to a railroad and anytime a train comes by, they have 1/2 odd shots-- such a cool way to offer a discount! We had a great time!

I kid you not, I have had hummus across the world and I have never had hummus as good as the hummus I had today at this place. You've got to try the hummus! Also, ask for Tristan's section, great service.

What's not to like about Johnnie Brown's? Its location is perfect, on a corner on Atlantic Ave with wide open windows, good seating, a bar and a secondary bar with stool. Sports are played on screens and the live music is fun. Staff is friendly, the food is pub appropriate and the drinks flow easy. I go almost weekly.

I finally went into johnnie Browns. I've walked by it for years and just watched and listened from the street. I guess it reminded me of the troubled bars of the Bronx I hung out in years ago. The place had excellent sliders. The crowd was up beat the band was playing great. What a good time! Of course now I'm hearing rumors that they're going to put a new building there. SMH

Having lived in the area my whole life, it was my first time coming here & probably my last lol. The service was good, the food not so much in my opinion. We came once they opened, so they weren't busy either to have made out food poorly... The fries were decent, the sliders were very poor. Disappointed, could barely finish one. The cheese was clumpy and the mustard and ketchup ratio was bleh. Not to mention, the onions on it were not good. Just a lot tasted wrong with those. Definitely not getting those again. My friend ate his burger, but was not impressed. This place was average.

I have mixed ideas on this place. The live music, food, drinks and service were all top notch. But the amount of people they had on the patio... it was like COVID never happened. I've talked to a few people around and they say that's the normal at Jonnie Browns... they just do whatever they want. We stopped in at 7pm on the Saturday after Christmas and I guess I knew there would be a crowd... Live music on a Saturday night on the ave is surely going to draw a crowd. But this place was a straight party. If you are still actively social distancing, you might be uncomfortable here.... Aside from that, we had a great time. And luckily they do have tables that are not where all the action is so we felt safe. We ordered a few rounds of drinks... All of them came out quick and my dad says its "one of the best dark and stormies he's ever had, made perfectly and delivered unmixed"... He also said his Juicy Lucy burger was DELICIOUS! It looked pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I could tell my brother was excited by his chicken sandwich because of the face he made when I stopped him from his first bite... he was pretty quiet until he was finished so I'm taking that as a sign he was happy. Mom got the lettuce wraps, they are not the "traditional" lettuce wraps... more like a wedge salad. Not sure who we felt about that since we were expecting something we could hold like a taco and these needed a fork and knife. I got myself some mahi tacos, nothing was wrong. Would have liked more fish for the price and since the tortilla was too much. Maybe after COVID we'll go back but I think right now Im going to stick to somewhere a little more... aware of the current state of this pandemic.

Great live music venue with very good bar food. Friendly crowd and good service. Gets very busy, so you need to set your service expectations accordingly.

It's always a good time with good food at Johnnie Brown's! The staff is super friendly and attentive and following all COVID protocols. It's great because it's all open air seating, and all tables are 6-feet apart. My favorite time to come here is when there is live music! We didn't eat anything on this visit, but the drinks were flowing. They make a mean mojito, that is so sweet and refreshing. The do have a really good menu from what I saw, with plenty of options for everyone. This place can get pretty busy at night, so don't be surprised if you have to wait for a table. When there is live music going on, there are a ton of people who stop on the sidewalk to listen, so if you're trying to stay and eat, make sure you notify the host stand. Love the vibes here and can't wait to come back to try out the food!

Inexpensive option on a popular corner of Atlantic Ave with typical American fare. Stage for live music, and i imagine place can really rock depending on time/day. Wings and cobb sally surpassed expectations of what we thought would be just average bar food.

We walked in to the sounds of a live musician. The wait staff was on point and super friendly. I was kind of thinking that the food would not be good. But boy was I wrong. You can't judge a book by its cover. The burgers were tasty and well made. The fish tacos were made superb. We had a wonderfully made meal. I highly recommend this place for your beer and burger desires. I will be back.

Still an awesome spot for live music and people watching on the Ave. Spider Cherry was planning on a Sunday night, and we can specifically to see the band. The tables are spaced apart with no standing and/or bar seating, so you can expect to wait in a line on a weekend night. We had already eaten dinner, but you have to order food while having drinks at a table. We ordered some fries and they were pretty delicious! After reading all of these reviews about the new food menu, I will get dinner on my next trip there.
