Where to Drink Margs and Give Back in Detroit | Eater

"Johnny Blacks Public House, which has several locations around Metro Detroit, offers gastropub fare done right. Alongside a variety of burgers, including the Juan in a Million with double beef patties, Monterey jack cheese, tostada shell, and chipotle mayo, there’s also extensive surf, turf, and pasta options. They offer a sweet twist on the typical marg with the spiced pear margarita, made with Astral Reposado, spiced pear liqueur, sour mix, and a splash of OJ, with a cinnamon sugar rim." - Vox Creative

The food, service and atmosphere is a total vibe. Light music good drinks and fresh good food consistently. My favorite is the whiskey bourbon shrimp, shown in the picture I added. It’s definitely a five star stop, see Riley and Alissa at the bar they’ll take good care of you!

Google
Food is amazing. I have no idea how I don’t have a review for this place They have the best steak bites around! Zip sauce is makes the difference. Order the zip sauce on the side. Extra. Ten times better and less mess. I just ordered the calamari for the first time and it was amazing as well other than the sauce for dipping was super mayo like and not enough zest But my #1 place!!!

We came here for Father’s Day. We sat down immediately because the place was empty. We weren’t the only people at the bar. It was two young ladies two seats down from us, but we waited about 10 minutes before a young lady came from the back to help us and she was very nice, but I make that point because there was another bartender that walked right past us many times didn’t greet us or anything, but as I stated, the young lady was very nice and she did a great job, but the guy ignored us and went over and was talking to the young ladies trying to flirt and make them smileI’ll never return here because of this. I’m not hard to miss I’m 6 foot three 387. Customer service was trash. Food was made. You guys need to do better. That guy should be washing dishes, not interacting with people.

Google
First time at Johnny Blake’s Public House, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming — a great spot to kick back with friends. The food was way better than I expected for a pub, especially the burgers and wings. Everything came out fresh and flavorful. The drinks were solid, and the staff was friendly and on top of things without being overbearing. It’s the kind of place you feel comfortable hanging out at for a while.

Google
Johnny Black's Public House has a fantastic atmosphere, and its convenient location makes it easy to visit—it's close enough for me to walk there! Their beer selection is excellent, offering something for everyone, and the food never disappoints. On this visit, I tried their New Orleans jambalaya, and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this spot for great food, drinks, and a welcoming vibe!

Came in and sat at the bar waiting for a friend. Bartender had a sour attitude from the start. My caesar salad barely any dressing when I asked for extra I was given a half cup, same thing happened when the chicken caesar wrap came out. The steak bites were delicious but didn’t come with zip sauce or bread, I had to ask which isn’t a problem except for the attitude still coming from the bartender. We were barely checked on and had to grab her attention multiple times. It was my first time here and was hoping to love it since one is opening close to me but after today I’m not sure I’ll give it a shot. 😫 disappointing to say the least

Google
“blackened” shrimp alfredo, nothing blackened on this plate..hard broccoli, all the alfredo sauce was in the bag & it was very tasteless and bland. 2/10 do.not.recommend; managed sounded very annoyed when I called to let them know about the alfredo sauce all in the bag and kept cutting me off as if i was wrong for relieving this meal like this.

Google
I've been by this place many times and the parking lot is always full. Finally decided to stop by and wasn't disappointed. I had the Steak Frites, maybe a tad over medium rare, but it was still delicious and tender. The fries and asparagus were perfect. My dad had the salmon also perfectly cooked and tasty. Spicy Pear Magaritas were amazing. Service was very fast and super friendly.

Yelp
Always a great place for good food and service. Tonight I had the special Korean bbq ribs. They were good. Just a little note to the chef. Someone was a little heavy handed with the lime on the cilantro lime rice. Coupled with the heavy handed pickling from the carrots, it was so tart and sour it was almost unbearable. The ribs laid on the rice and it soured the sauce. Scraped it off and it was all good. I ate most of the rice before it really got bad. So I got through most of it. Now be careful there's a sidewalk that is heaved out front that almost everyone tripped on so watch your feet. The cones really don't prevent you from tripping. Still a favorite place to eat. Staff is always top notch.

Yelp
My first time here and it was great! We had Karenina as our server and she was very nice and attentive. The prices were really good for the size and quality of food we got. We started with fried pickles, and then got the Dixie chick sandwich and the pecan chicken salad. We loved the food, and it came out super fast. The only possible downside is that it was pretty dark in there, it was a bit hard to read the menu. Overall great experience!

Yelp
Every single time I order a carry out whatever I order that says it comes with zip sauce on the menu, they never put the zip sauce in the box. I learned to check my bag before leaving but even so it's so annoying to have to go back in and ask for it when it's supposed to come with it. This seriously happens every time. And when eating there it's like 50/50 if they bring it with your food, I find I have to ask for it a lot. Whatever it says on the menu is how it's supposed to come right? Their expo needs to be better with both carry out and dine in. A lot of my carry outs have been missing items but I see it on the ticket so I know it's not an ordering issue it's a kitchen issue!

Yelp
We went to Johnny Black's Taphouse yesterday and the food was delicious and service was great.! I We got the chicken piccata --very lemony. Loaded with capers...artichokes and mushrooms... and mashed potatoes! My husband got fish and chips and said they were very good as well!

Yelp
Everything was good. It was a busy night! We popped in and got a table immediately. We all had something a little different, which was nice. Combinations of burgers, wings and fish and chips. All of the food was well cooked and delicious. We had a variety of beverages and everyone was happy. It is not a quiet place, nor should it be, it's a place to go and have fun, be boisterous and maybe watch a game. I need to remember about this place more often.

Yelp
The first time I went here the food was great but we could hardly hear each other talk. Sports bars can get loud, but this... I've never been to a place that loud. We ordered DoorDash today and I had special instructions for a couple of orders. Apparently they didn't read those special instructions. I'll never order a delivery order again. At the end of the day, I would recommend doing takeout. That way you can check before you leave and you won't be deafened by the noise. Edited to add - I don't know how I forgot to mention the piece of lime sitting on one of my tacos that was either already squeezed or someone chewed on it

Yelp
Service is always good here, but ambiance and food are hit or miss. This last time we went the food was spot on as well as the service and the ambiance / crowd.

Yelp
If you enjoy watching bartenders and servers on their phones, this is the place! Service was uninterested and my Wife and I waited and waited for what turned out to be subpar wings (frozen and fried?) It smelled like sewage as well which scared us off. Also noticed dust and grime as if it isn't cleaned.

Yelp
First and last time coming here. Food came out quick. Burger was burnt, and came out plain. Was supposed to have bacon, LTO, waited 5 min to get that. Fries were very salty to the point you couldn't eat them without taking a drink after every bite. Birria tacos were dry, and but very greasy. Waited 10 min for extra napkins. Never refilled our drinks. They were busy, but not that busy. Highly disappointed. Eating out is not cheap these days, and when it is subpar, it makes it that much worse.

Yelp
Was impressed Johnny Blacks just opened up and the staff was already on it. The food was outstanding to boot

Yelp
Second time coming here this time I dined it. Went on a Thursday night but this place was super busy. Bar style, place was clean and staff was super friendly. I ordered the fish and chips I probably won't get again it was alright just not a fan of theirs. The sliders and tator tots were cooked to perfection super yummy and good. We also got the loaded baked potato delicious wish you got so much more.

Anita K.

Yelp
It took over an hour to get our food! we were told they were short staffed but people who arrived after us received their food. we finally requested our food be boxed up to take home. no sorry - how can we make it right. then when we got home - the chicken we ordered was not completely cooked.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Order their ribs and not as good as they used to be under old ownership. They were tough and dry. Very disappointed.

Yelp
I've been a die hard Johnnys Go-er for over 7 years now and I love the establishment. The food, never disappoints. The staff is ALWAYS accommodating & the ambiance is my favorite. Im a sucker for a nice environment with low lighting. This place also serves up some of my favorite dishes. The steak frites are my GO 2! No going wrong with that zip sauce & the BRUNCH !!! Don't forget they have brunch!!! Good biscuits & gravy & mimosas. Check them out for any occasion!
google avatar

Yelp
I like this place way more now, probably because I took my gma here on a whim when we were looking for a place to eat and she loved it!! We both got the fish and chips but instead of chips, we upgrade with loaded mash potatoes (it has bacon & cheddar cheese on top) and OMG its sooo good!! I need to take her here again soon. I wouldnt recommend the steak bites tho, I remember my dad not liking them when we went for my moms birthday. Everything else is pretty solid.

Yelp
Johnny Black's will always remind me of the prior place here, Big Boy's. However, walking into Johnny Black's leaves no trace of Big Boy's! Have ordered carry-out a few times from here and it has always been great. This review in particular we needed a memorial mass luncheon. We called all around town and no one had availability, thank goodness, Johnny Black's had our date free. I believe we worked with Ed and he was so helpful, especially in our time of need. They were so flexible and accommodating. No deposit was needed - went off the honor system that we were going to show the day of. We had around 35+ people and we all fit nicely into the alcove area at the front of the restaurant. We picked a set menu of 3 different options for the luncheon and was able to bring in homemade cookies for dessert. Our two waitresses were so attentive and friendly. Service was seamless and food came out decently quick. We were able to use another table to set up a memorial table. The food was delicious! Everyone seemed happy with their meals - our set menu included a burger, salad, and a wrap. The tots are the best though! During such a difficult time for our family, it was such a relief to trust in Johnny Black's to provide an amazing memorial luncheon and we didn't have to worry.

Yelp
Visited Johnny Black's on Auburn Rd. this afternoon. I asked the bartender to turn on President Trump's inauguraction. She told me she had to ask management for approval. Management approved it, but would not allow the sound. This was the President of the US inauguration ceremony!! How or why would you not want to fully televise this event?! Your restaurant...your choice, but how unpatriotic!!

Yelp
Great place to eat a variety of foods where ppl can vibe party and enjoy the gaming world. Service good but busy.

Yelp
The server here was great not like the one we encountered at Johnny Blacks Tap house in Shelby Township, Great food and atmosphere.

Abhilash T.

Yelp
I honestly place this establishment above most bars. Their food is consistently better, less greasy and outside of pricing on some things, it's fantastic. You must start out with the frickles. This is the only place where the batter isn't soggy and the pickles are crunchy. The Baja fish tacos are really good. I got them grilled rather than fried and I'm very happy with it. It's a delicious taco. The fish and chips were just ok. The batter or fish needs more seasoning. But again, if you're in a rush, they bring everything out so quickly and the food is on point. The frickles with the Johnny sauce will definitely make me come back.

Yelp
A co-worker and I stopped in for a quick lunch meeting and glad we did. The atmosphere was nice, friendly service all around, and great food!

Yelp
Redeemed themselves. This was simply delicious and savory. I now have a favorite menu item. Thank goodness for second chances.

Yelp
Went here for brunch this morning. I've been there before and had a wonderful eggs benedict. I check their menu online to make sure the still had it. However, when we got there, their brunch menu only had salmon eggs benedict. I asked if they could make me real eggs benedict with Canadian bacon and was told yes. 1st of all, let me say that they were not "packed". They were many empty tables. Our order took forever to get and to top it off, there was no Canadian bacon on the English muffin and the Hollandaise sauce was served in a separate cup, COLD!!!. I asked the server to please take it back and heat it up. Again, it took forever. By the time I got the sauce back the eggs and potatoes were cold. I complained to the server and she offered to remake. I accepted thinking she would put a "rush" on it.....WRONG!!! Took forever again. My husband was done eating his brunch by the time I got my "remake". The whole experience was very disappointing. I don't think I'll be going back there again

Yelp
I would say service is hit or miss, the food is usually really good though. I love the atmosphere as a sports bar, or date night place.

Christina M.

Yelp
The brussel sprout salad is unlike anything I've ever eaten before. Absolutely amazing! My family loves dining here because there's something for us all, including my 6 year old. He always orders the kid's burger and fries which is gigantic! We've never had a bad experience - service is always great!

Yelp
Jonny Black's the ultimate destination for sports fans and food lovers alike. Super low-key but lively atmosphere, big-screen TVs, and a delicious menu, it is a great place to spend an evening with friends, family, or coworkers. The bar is well-known for its fantastic food, and it is easy to see why. You can't beat some of their lunch specials! I ordered a huge burger, tots, and a beer for under $12. The menu is diverse, with something to suit every taste and craving. From juicy burgers and crisp salads to hearty entrees and shareable appetizers, there is something for everyone. The portions are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is evident in every dish.

Yelp
love this place to watch the games. they have a long bar and lots of tv's. Staff is attractive and friendly.Food is great. Heres my issue if you like to play keno don't go here. they have a self serve machine that has been off for the last 2 months. if it broke the state will fix it for free. There is no keno hot spots to check your ticket. so unfortunately with the shortage of bartenders you wait forever to get your ticket checked or get a drink. Again it not the staffs fault its a management issues don't know or don't care. also I have hit a couple times and they don't have the money to pay. pay the player they will spend more money. Sad as I think it's a great place and kind of a disappointment. they expect 1 bartender to take care of this long bar and service the waitress. Recipe for no business. Art and Jakes here I come.

Yelp
This is a great "go to" spot of mine in the area. I work in the area so it's nice to have a spot that's open before 3 or 4. Pre COVID we came for morning mimosas to celebrate a divorce. They aren't open quite that early anymore, but I'm good with 11! I really miss being able to start our day drinking early! They have a decent menu and beer options. They are always a full house but you don't need reservations. The atmosphere is casual but classy. The service is always fast and friendly.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, good location, but mediocre service and food. Fried pickles: for $9 they serve a very small portion of fried pickle chips. Sliders: too thick, overcooked, bland. And the server dropped the burgers off and didn't provide any condiments. By there time I could flag someone down for some mustard, my food was lukewarm. Like who serves burgers without a condiment tray? Not impressed, won't be back.

Yelp
Johnny Black's was jamming when I walked in. Almost every table was filled. If this were a weekend, it wouldn't be worth noting, but this was a Tuesday at 5 PM. I typically wouldn't get my butt off the couch to go out to eat on a Tuesday, but now I am rethinking that position. The locals obviously know something that I just learned today. The look and feel is what you would want from a proper pub. Seating is mostly set up for large groups, or for strangers to sit at the same table. This is the way it's done in Britain, and it's a cool thing to see here. Now that the world is opening up, why not interact with it? The beer selection is extensive and reasonably priced. Drinks showed up quickly. This is a moderately sized place, but the bar is not far from any table. And, what about the food? I'm glad you asked. This is what attracted me here today. Just about everything from steak to sandwiches and entrées are available here. There are a staggering number of options if you like tacos. The baked fish tacos were light and delicious, and I loved that they provided a little lime wedge for each taco. There is also a side of super crispy tortilla chips included with the tacos. I could probably eat a whole plate of these at one sitting. Their take on fried brussels sprouts is refreshing: they stir in hazelnuts and top them with blue cheese crumbles. My wife is not a fan of blue cheese, so we had them on the side. Unlike the sprouts at some places, they were not greasy at all. There was just enough crispiness without losing the awesomeness of the sprout. Like I said at the start, I don't normally eat out on a Tuesday. But, the next time I do, I'm probably coming back here.

Yelp
Bar is open until 2AM and the kitchen closes at 11PM. Thought there was one in Rochester hills as well. It's a big place. Football is all around the tubes. They have a ton of TVs here, over 20-25 all around. It feels like being inside of Bestbuy with all of the TVs blasting loudly and all on different channels too. Good for watching the game, bad for a meal. Ordered the bourbon Brussels sprouts and the Buffalo cauliflower, a Brookland's salad with blackened chicken and no, Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Their chairs at the low tops are peeling at the top, they are plastic chairs too. The Buffalo cauliflower is decent, a bit more crispy would make it better. Good seasoning though. The bourbon Brussels sprouts are good, like the Gorgonzola. The Brookland's salad is okay. Some bad lettuce in it. The balsamic mustard vinaigrette is not my favorite, way too sweet. The bourbon balsamic that was used on the Brussels sprout wasn't right for me either for my salad. Would recommend the red onions and the Gorgonzola on the side, there was way too much of both for me. Our waitress, Hallie was nice, patient and attentive too.

Yelp
This place has been going down in quality for a while. The issue isn't taste in food, but it's quite clear the staff (especially that kitchen) doesn't give a f**k about the food they serve. They don't listen to the menu descriptions, order frozen pre-made food and anything fresh the pre-make. How do you mess up scrambled eggs?? I've been coming here for years and the more I go, the less I want to return. Heck the only reason I went again today was because I was invited by a friend. Next time, I'll be steering people towards any other resturant.

Yelp
Sunday i went here w/ 3 others. The service wasn't that great. It was about 7pm or so. 2 random ppl walked up to the table separately to get us to place a bet and download the betting app. I wasn't happy cuz each time, I thought they was our waiter. Then when we got seated the table was dirty and we had to wait for the hosted to wipe it off. When the waiter finally did come she said "have you been helped yet?" As if they dont know whats going on... it was not busy at all in there. I've seen it busier. I asked for a round of waters b4 we ordered & she kept forgetting the 1 . Then my man & I ordered the same drink. Only for them to size them different and have different things in them. It was odd. The waitress was sitting at a table on her phone often near by. The main thing that had me bothered was the chicken pasta had little to no chicken. And the chicken was small diced pieces instead of sliced. Ill never order it again.

Yelp
Ambiance is nice; love all the lights inside. Been here a few times and wait staff have been nice. The food is okay. Nothing stands out as amazing. They have delicious crunchy French fries though. And their ranch has good flavor. I won't ever come out of my way to eat here but wouldn't be opposed if someone else wanted to go.

Yelp
Went here for the first time with a girlfriend the other night to catch up. The place was pretty packed for a Thursday night but we were seated quickly and each ordered a drink. I ordered a Moscow mule and it was pretty good. For dinner I ordered the Dixie Chick. I asked for no tomato but it came with it anyways. Not a huge deal but when I pulled them off, it pulled most of the garlic aioli off as well. Sandwich was super warm and flavorful and the tots were extra crispy just how I like them. My friend ordered the perch with mashed potatoes and she said it was great and she would order it again!

Jayla H.

Yelp
Food was hot not seasoned enough for my liking. Drinks were strong and tasty. Server was just okay. Kind of loud even for a weekday.

Yelp
Not really a review update. The jambalaya is still awesome. Everything else is still great. The wife had an awesome chicken pot pie and the grandson had an awesome baked Mac and cheese and they both loved the desert. So I wanted to just say how awesome Alexis O. was. What a delightful young lady, just as as all hell, great service young lady. Thank you. I hope your management sees this.

Yelp
My food was good, drinks good but a few in our party thought the food was pretty average. when I got home. noticed my pain on my elbow. looks like a burn. One of my friends had the same! it turns out everyone in our party that wore short sleeves had the same burn on thier elbow. the one person with long sleeves did not. we can only conclude that they use something pretty strong to clean these tables. everyone met at the restaurant and then left to go home so the comment denominator was the table at the restaurant.

Yelp
Here for the 1st time with a friend. Sat outside on a sketchy weather day but The Perch Bowl & amazing handcrafted cocktails made our visit extra fabulous. Service was Perfect. Awesome experience. Will definitely return and recommend!

Yelp
Got seated on the patio in a most empty restaurant. Waited 20 +mins for anyone to even take a drink order. Watched 2 tables get orders and served that arrived after us. Left without even getting a water.

Timothy D.

Yelp
Large takeout order for whole family. While waiting for the food (after paying 100$) they brought out a small pizza ??! I told them what was on order and they went back to kitchen and disappeared for 15 minutes.. while waiting two customers came in asking for refunds... on their orders ... place was busy but that is no excuse! Will never go back again!!! They used to be kinda good...

Yelp
After years of driving past Johnny Black's Public House, and being curious about the food and environment, I met with some friends last week for drinks and food. We decided to meet Bc Monday was themed "Fiesta Monday", and there were deals on a few Mexican food items, and on drinks, such as Margaritas My of my friends were at the restaurant when I arrived and was sitting in a booth. We decided that we would need to switch to a table, and the booth wasn't going to be big enough to accommodate everyone in the party. So that was the first issue, as our waitress seemed to be really irritated about having to transfer us to a table. Once we were seated, the waitress lack of enthusiasm continued. She did not ask if two people in the party wanted to order, Bc she stated that she assumed they were waiting until 6 p.m. for the specials to start, when in fact those two particular guest wasn't even ordering tacos, they ordered food off of the regular menu (Chicken Stir-Fry; Fried Shrimp and Fries; and Crab Cakes). Once we had that straightened out, our party did order, in which it didn't take long for our food to arrive. In my opinion, the food was really good! I tried Cod Tacos, and an order of fries. Plus I ordered a Chicken Quesadilla to go, and I was completely satisfied with everything! My friends also enjoyed the food, and even talked about dining in again soon at the restaurant. So overall, great food, mediocre service. But I would definitely go back to Public House again! It was a nice ambiance, TVs everywhere, and good drinks and good food!

Nick

Yelp
Used to come here 2-3 times a week!! The food is horrible lately. Service is not good either. Idk what's going on if they switched cooks or something but the food is really bad.
google avatar

Yelp
Met my girlfriend here for a quick bite at the bar. She had the Brussel Sprout Salad, which she said was delicious! I chose the Public House Salad (minus onion & mushroom) with chicken and Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing and I enjoyed that as well. It can get a little noisy here but nothing that would make it unbearable.

Yelp
Johnny's is a fun spot to meet up with friends. They are usually quite busy and they have nice set up of televisions throughout the bar. Plenty of options for cocktails and a variety of beers on tap. They also had a decent food selection. I've been here multiple times over the years. Tonight we split the Filet Sliders with Whiskey Onions, Blue Cheese and Detroit Zip Sauce. OMG this was fantastic!

Yelp
First - I love the entrée food here. Have never had a bad one, and today was no exception. We had the AM Burger and the Pulled Pork Sliders - both with Tots. Everything was great. Then, dessert. While the restaurant was 75% less full than when we placed our dinner orders, our desserts took 45 minutes! WTH? 45 minutes to fry some Oreos, scoop some ice cream and put a piece of cheesecake on a plate???? We watched as table after table that were sat AFTER we put in our dessert order, and saw them get their entrees. The waitress, who was as kind as could be - kept telling us the kitchen was backed up. However, I could HEAR them all the way out by the patio hooting and hollering. Then, when our Fried Oreos FINALLY came out, all the ice cream was melted. What I was left with was Fried Oreo Soup. Now, the waitress concurred that this was terrible, and they comped us our desserts. But this is the second time the ice cream has come out soupy. And I do mean SOUPY. I asked to have a couple scoops of fresh ice cream. She returned and said even in the freezer, all the ice cream was soupy. Ok. Now I'm getting concerned. If the ice cream is melting, how is the frozen FOOD staying to temp? What's going on here? This is the SAME thing that happened MONTHS earlier with the ice cream. Is this freezer working properly? Then we watched as another waitress was shouting at guests who arrived at 8:40PM and were told the kitchen was closed. Wow! The place is open until 11PM and closes the kitchen before 9PM? Not a good look. I'll chalk this one up to the fact that Sundays rarely have the best people working at night. But if I get soupy ice cream again, it will be my last time here. 3 strikes and you're out. I can't trust a place to keep frozen foods frozen that can't keep ice cream from melting. It's a shame because the evening started out great. Our order was taken promptly, nice waitress, food arrived timely, and was great. But it seems as though the kitchen decided to check out around 8PM. The owner/manager of Johnny Black's should not tolerate this. All I'm doing is giving the place 3 out of 5 stars. The party they literally chased out of the building through the patio was on their phones ranting to everyone under the sun, including people getting out of their cars, about how they closed the kitchen early and were treated rudely. It only takes one bad experience by a few customers for bad word of mouth to start. We'll probably return at some point, but the desserts are on their last strike. Those guys in the kitchen clearly were goofing around and decided "it's later on a Sunday - who cares?" Well, the people with MONEY that came to Johnny Black's care. And you can undo a lot of goodwill in 45-60 minutes. That kitchen phoning in the last hour and shutting down early came with a high cost. As a chef, manager, and owner, was it worth that cost?

Yelp
Went here on a NFL playoff Sunday. The place was packed but I managed to find a place at the bar. The selection of tap beers was good. The bartenders did a good job keeping up despite being slammed. I got the perch with rice. Nothing special there average taste a bit mushy. Seems to be a favorite place for the locals as busy as they were. Really just your average sports bar. I would go back and try something else from the menu.

Yelp
It's not an easy restaurant to get to. Only one driveway, and unless you're making a RH turn, you may need to pass by and make a U turn. We walked into a near empty restaurant and seated ourselves as the hostess station sign read. We picked a table across from the bar. We waited about 5 minutes and I used the restroom. It was dark and really stunk bad. I returned to the table, and not one server greeted us or even acknowledged us. There were perhaps 5 or 6 tables occupied on the patio and nearly every seat at the bar. After 20+ minutes, we left. The bartender chuckled as we walked out. It was after 4:00 PM and it was obvious they weren't interested in new customers. In fact, nobody was eating! Johnny Black's is just a booze slinging spot for preferred customers. I spoke with several people in the area who told me they don't like serving women or tables with women. By the waitstaff attire, I can believe that. Zero stars for zero friendly and zero service.

Yelp
Plenty of seating and great food and drink options. The acoustics were not so great because of the high ceilings.
