After an enjoyable visit to the Johnny Cash Museum, I was ready for some lunch. Next to the museum is Johnny Cash's Bar & BBQ. I might as well be a tourist by having lunch next door.
There was a male staffer in front of the door. He encouraged everyone to enter. There was live music happening, which made my day. I asked him where to go for the eatery area. He said straight ahead. I thanked him and walked in.
You basically seat yourself. I wanted to sit at the closest table to the live music, but it still had plates and drinks on it. I sat just behind it with a good view of the performances. The stage is closest to the main entrance.
I love being able to enjoy a meal and take in live music. It was a treat here.
It took a long time for my server to come over. I am ridiculously patient and fit into Nashville perfectly. I got a male server who was great.
While in Nashville, one needs to try Nashville hot chicken. The typical thought is that you get it as a sandwich. I was delighted to get two pieces of it with two sides and a biscuit.
I ordered the chicken with baked beans and green beans. Yes, it was a day of beans. I also got a Diet Coke and ended up getting another refill.
My Diet Coke came first. I was thirsty, so it hit the spot. It was cold, fizzy, and yummy.
Another male server brought my food over to me. It looked good.
I started with the Nashville hot chicken. I got a wing and a breast. I tackled the wing first. There was so much spiciness going on. It was spicy, but yummy. I needed to lessen the spicy burn in my mouth with some of the baked and green beans. They were excellent. The baked beans had some sweetness, but not on the gross side. I loved them. The green beans were so good. I could have asked for a double order. They were delicious.
I went back to the Nashville hot chicken and tackled the other piece left. The breast wasn't as spicy, likely because there weren't as many nooks and such for the spices to hide and do a hot number on you. It was juicy and so good. Both pieces were crispy and done perfectly.
I wanted to stay longer. I maxed out my parking through the app. I then ordered an apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. It was essentially a slice of pie that was bashed around in a bowl, with vanilla ice cream on top. It wasn't what I had expected, but it tasted yummy on a hot day.
The bar was across from where I was sitting. If you want to grab a drink and stand to take in the live musical performances, you can. I managed to see two different acts play. They were so talented and I appreciated them.
It was such a lively place, especially to people-watch. I loved it all.
My server came over with the bill when I signalled that I was ready to pay it. He brought it to me and thanked me for being so patient. The eatery were short-staffed that day. It was such a nice statement coming from him. I was on vacation and didn't have to dash anywhere, so it all worked out.
I paid with a credit card. He ran it through is payment kiosk. He brought me a receipt to sign and indicate my tip. It was an old-school thing that I had forgot about.
The washrooms are in the basement. I don't recall seeing an elevator, so I can't comment on the accessibility. There are a fair number of steps. The staircases are to the right when you first enter the restaurant.
The women's washroom was clean. No complaints.
I had a good time having a late lunch here. I would love to try the mac and cheese next time.
