One should never turn down an opportunity to pay homage to Saint Pádraig, and homage was indeed paid this day, the 17th of March. I can think of no greater way to honor one of my favorite holidays than making it my 500th review!
Mad thanks to Justin T. (and crew), Lupe M., Jazzy T. for staking out and claiming the largest table on the patio. Always good to get some time from Victor H. and Brian T. in the books. Great time with everyone that came out!
Parking -
We met bright and early on this lovely Sunday holiday. Off the main road, the entrance to parking was not easily found or utilized, most folks missed it and came through the rear. Even with a decent crowd, parking didn't seem to be too much of an issue. They have some established parking, and also an open field behind it for overflow. No lay required. Yay free!
The Bar -
As one might expect, there's a large bar inside provisioning cocktails, draft beer, and maybe even some wine (don't quote me on the wine. I didn't see it). The folks behind the bar were a hustlin'. They had about 5 bar tenders in the main bar, moving people quickly. They also had a pop-up bar on the patio that was cash and venmo only. Smaller menu of items, but a good place to hit without a line if they had what you wanted. All the staff were very patient and friendly. There is food, looked like normal bar fare, but I did not purchase any. For the holiday they had live music, some swag out on the tables, and some decent drink specials. There were shots galore. My one complaint is that an Irish Car Bomb should be a full glass (pint) and not half a solo cup.
The Digs -
The bar itself is what you would expect of an Irish den. Inside is a little darker, and has a nostalgic feel to it. Enough room to fit enough folks, and largely standing room (at least for this holiday setup). Bar was easily accessible, low wait times. They have a large patio outside that made all the difference for drinking on a lovely day that had a wee bit o'water comin' down. The restrooms were clean (as they can be with a bunch of raucous hooligans milling about), no long waits. Good shade on the patio in the sun, and cover from the rain.
We rolled with a crowd of just under 20 split between two tables, one covered one not. Everyone had a great time, service was good, ambience was on point. Twas a great holiday with great people, in a solid bar, with mostly great weather. Highly recommend spending your next St. Paddy's here.
