Johnnys Chicken and Waffles - Fort Worth, TX

I went to this restaurant on Sunday with a big group for a birthday celebration, and everything was great! The waitresses were super nice and very attentive. Our food came out quickly, and everything tasted good. But the music—oh my goodness—was the bomb! The DJ had the perfect mix of younger rap and old-school vibes, and that was honestly my favorite part of the whole experience. If I had to mention one thing, it would be for the lady bringing the food out to make sure she knows where we’re seated before explaining the dishes, and maybe not talk over the plates while doing so. Other than that, everything was great. Definitely five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. I would absolutely go back again!

Fantastic local meal! We had chicken (tenders and pieces) and waffles, scrambled eggs, and fried biscuits. No part of this meal was disappointing and we left feeling extremely happy and full. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures before we started to eat. To top it off our waitress was so kind and very service oriented and improved our experience overall.

Food was top tier and FAST! Big portions and cooked to perfection! Vibe was everything! On top of that our waiter Brandon was amazing!! Full of energy and fun! Order was perfect and he made us feel welcome! I will definitely be visiting again when I’m back in town!

Not your typical chicken and waffle place. This place had a great vibe. Bunch/lunch fun music etc. Food and service were fast, friendly and helpful. It is not a quiet place...but this made the vibe. We ordered the fried biscuits! Yum, I had the chicken and waffles. The flavor was amazing. The waffle was excellent too. We were will be back. The adults had adult beverages driving the ticket up a bit but all worth it. Check out those red velvet booths!

We came in and was seated immediately. Waited less than five minutes for a server. The music is so loud that we could not hear the server and vice versa. It was not packed. They just don’t know how to control the volume. I ordered a 2 piece white chicken with a red velvet waffle. One of the pieces of chicken was raw. The chicken itself was dark. Basically it appeared that the grease needed to be changed. I wasn’t able to locate my server but the manager was nearby on her phone and I was able to get her attention. She immediately apologized and took the plate back and redid the meal. This time I received a 2 piece dark instead of white but it was fine. My husband had the 4 pieces chicken, waffle fries and Cole slaw. He said the slaw was too milky. It was if it was soup instead of coleslaw. I personally will not return because the music is waaaaay too loud for my taste. I say try them for yourself.

Stopped by here for brunch after church and ended up having a great time! The Red Velvet Waffle was delicious, and the DJ kept the vibe fun. The only thing I’d change is turning the music down a bit, it was so loud we had to shout to talk across the table and had to do the same with our server. Other than that, I’d definitely recommend this spot!

We were excited to try a local restaurant and then it went downhill as soon as we opened the door. You are greeted by staff that isn’t there and loud music for the ghostly patrons. Someone did come greet us eventually and took our order. The food did make it out quick which was a bit suspicious 🤨 we were the only ones there but the wings I ordered got cold as soon as they hit the table. The waffle isn’t the greatest but they do charge an arm and a leg for it. My husband got chicken and waffles and paying $21 for two little drumsticks is not worth it. The drumstick was about the size of his thumb. Gone in 60 seconds. If the portions were bigger it might be worth it.

NE-YO , you did your thang with this restaurant 😍. I loved everything about it from the vibe, food , customer service , staff , music and atmosphere. I really enjoyed myself here . Also let me tell yall about NaKia Bowman ! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, VERY CONSIDERATE, ALWAYS SMILING, VERY ATTENTIVE& VERY HELPFUL ! The experience was smooth from start to finish truly outstanding. Keep being amazing girl . ❤️

This place is amazing I wish more people knew about it. I've ate here 3 times now and each time was better than the last. you have to come see Lexie because she definitely took care of me. my husband and I gave the food a 10 of of a 10.

This place was awesome! Live DJ and Chicken and Waffles? Say less! Rina was awesome, and got our food out quick, hot and delicious! And she brought out a lot of coffee refills as we needed them- just finished a volunteer event at Opal's Farm! And the vibe was and look of the restaurant was awesome! Will be back!

One of Fort Worths hidden gems! The entrees are soooo delectable‍We ordered the loaded fries as an appetizer, the buttermilk biscuits--which taste like biscuit and muffin made babies! We tried all three flavorsOmg!The royal treatment Mac and Cheese-taste was so moist and rich! The chicken was fried right and not dried out! THE SEASONING WAS 10 out 10! Took me back to the south lol. The DRINKS-top chef liquor and we felt it about 10 minutes inThe STAFF gave that family vibe! Like you're pulling up to Madears house on a holiday! Lol The ambience and the DJJust a chill and laid back establishment. ZERO COMPLAINTS!!! MY WIFE AND I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK! Apologies for no foodie pics but yall it came so quick we forgot

The food and service was great! Nicki was friendly and made great suggestions from the menu. We had the buffalo chicken egg rolls as an appetizer, and they were phenomenal! My husband had the buffalo wrap and my daughter and I had the tenders. The chicken was tender and so delicious! Our server Nicki says the Cajun chicken pasta is the best! Now, this establishment is not like the rest. If you want to sit and talk, this is not the place for you. If you want to have a meal and a party this is the place. The music is turned up loud, and people are dancing in their seats! I do want to add the music is not child appropriate and is secular for those who are looking for a wholesome environment.

Came here for a Sunday brunch to celebrate my mom and my husband birthday and this became one of our favorite places!!! The service was great, we were seating quickly and our server was wonderful, very attentive and sweet! The food was WOW, phenomenal, EVERYTHING we tried was delicious and the plates are well portioned and nicely plated. The drinks were so so good and the vibes were vibin! The DJ was littttt, such a great experience overall. We will be back again soon !!

We came in for an anniversary brunch with our daughter and the wait was about 35min on a Sunday afternoon, but it was worth it! The ambiance was fun and the music was perfect. It was loud, but no complaints here! Baby girl was jammin. Our sever was great and and she was so sweet to our daughter. The buffalo rolls were sooo good and the waffles were some of the best we've ever had. Not too much, just perfect! The pecans were chopped and spread evenly through the waffle the wings and eggs were fresh! My tenders were a little over cooked but overall we had a great meal!

Its obvious this place is raciest! I came in looking forward to the peach cobbler waffles, but no one ever waited on me. I was the only white person in the restaurant and I sat there for 20 minutes with a menu and that's it. No water nothing. Meanwhile, other people that are African-American are walking up to the bar sitting down and getting water and getting their orders put in. Meanwhile, I'm just sitting at a booth being ignored while employees and staff are walking around talking to other customers and avoiding me. Will not return for that exact reason.

Ordered the chicken and waffle. White meat. The waffle was to die for. Omg it was spectacular. The chicken wings were fresh, the chicken breast was dipped in grease twice. It was horrible. Are these the techniques used in order not to cook fresh meat. In fact the meal came out so fast I knew that chicken wasn't fresh. I'm very disappointed about the chicken part the server Brandon was great . This was my first time and I'm not impressed with that chicken problem going to

The food was delicious! The service was good. The servers were very attentive . My husband got the chicken wings and waffles and I got the catfish and grits. This was to die for. Very filling and so much food. The restaurant was nicely decorated. There was a DJ playing music that was a bit loud but he turned it down. It music selection could have been more mellow for a Sunday early afternoon brunch. We will be back.

We came in for my brothers 65th birthday party. The vibe and music was great. Waffle was amazing, but my chicken was very greasy. Our waitress had a VERY BAD ATTITUDE! Journey needs to work on her CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. I shouldn't have to pay GRATUITY for poor customer service.

The vibe and music was amazing! Our waiter Journey had the worst attitude! She lacks professionalism, manners and she had poor customer service skills! When we complained we were told, " That's just how she is"! If it wasn't for her I would have given this establishment 5 stars!

They automatically charge 18% for all customers and on to go orders. I get an automatic gratuity on large parties but for two people??? Are you serious? And for service that sucked. Won't be coming back.

My husband and I both order the Johnnys"not yet famous" chicken and waffles. The chicken is seasoned amazingly. I suggest start cooking the chicken to order, because ours came out super greasy like it has been reheated. Waffle was cooked to perfection, and the cinnamon sets the flavor off in the buttermilk flavored. The drinks were immaculate. But the servers should become more familiar with the menu, we ordered a fruit punch and she brought out a cocktail and insisted they didn't have any other fruit punch. She then came back to state they have it but are currently awaiting a truck shipment.

The food is terrible and overpriced... they automatically charge gratuity for to go orders for some reason and the service here is awful!!! You're better off going to McDonald's you'd get better service there and better food to put this nicely. The place also looks really cheap and tacky with the way they designed and decorated it. Please don't go here it is terrible save your money!!!!!!
