"When you think of great Bryn Mawr restaurants, you probably imagine coastal grandmothers clinking glasses of Chardonnay over their cobb salads. Johnny’s is not like those Bryn Mawr restaurants. This one is filled with college couples and construction workers squeezing into formica clean-your-own booths in a graffitied dining room. The good news is that the energy that Johnny’s saves on its decor and hospitality is invested into great food. Its compact menu and crowded open kitchen offers stellar square and round styles of pizza, drippy, delicious cheesesteaks, Italian sausage sandwiches, assorted fried appetizers (like cheesesteak eggrolls, yawn) and salads. Everything is solid, and some is the best you can get on the Main Line, if not beyond. photo credit: Brian Lofink photo credit: Brian Lofink photo credit: Brian Lofink The most challenging aspect of Johnny’s Pizza is, well, getting a pizza. Try to order online and you may find online ordering shut down. Try calling. Then try calling again a few more times. Someone might pick up. Try going in person at a reasonable hour, say 3PM on a Saturday, and you might be told they are sold out for the day. Or if you’re lucky, you’ll be told to come back at 7 to pick up. If that’s the offer, take the deal. Anticipation is the best aperitivo. Food Rundown photo credit: Brian Lofink Round Pie Johnny’s serves the platonic ideal of pizza. While they have the usual toppings and you can do you, this is pizza that does not need much messing with: crisp yet chewy crust, sauce and cheese, finished with extra virgin olive oil, pecorino romano, and fresh basil. The shakers of crushed red pepper, oregano and garlic powder don’t get much action at Johnny’s. This is pizza that doesn’t need help. photo credit: Brian Lofink Buffalo Chicken Square Pizza Johnny’s is better known for their square pizza. Their traditional square has similar toppings to the round with a thicker crust–and it is stellar. The buffalo chicken pizza disappointed, however. It was dry, lacking the saucy, cheesy goodness of its sister. Stick to the classics. photo credit: Brian Lofink Wings The wings at Johnny’s come traditional or boneless with your choice of sauce: hot, barbecue, garlic parm and so on. You might expect a place with perfect pizza to have a weaker wing game. Not the case. These are big and juicy with plenty of extra sauce. Skip the buffalo pizza and order the hot wings for crust-dipping. photo credit: Brian Lofink Cheesesteak Nearly everyone taking out a pizza from Johnny’s has a brown paper bag perched on top with a cheesesteak or two inside. Served on a crusty-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside seeded roll and packed with meat, it’s almost unfair that one of the best pizzerias in the Philly area also has one of the region’s best cheesesteaks. While they offer the usual options–whiz, cooper sharp, provolone, and so on, get the spicy cooper sharp sauce, a Johnny’s signature that threads the needle between whiz and cheese. With onions, duh. photo credit: Brian Lofink Caesar Salad It’s a great pizza place. Don’t get a salad. But if you must, the crisp fresh lettuce, homemade croutons and real pecorino show that the attention to detail here does not stop at the pizza. The bottled dressing says, “What do you expect? We’re a pizza place.”" - Jonathan Deutsch

The standout at this spot, in my opinion, is definitely the cheesesteaks. The meat-to-cheese ratio is spot on, and the seeded rolls are soft yet hold up well, an excellent balance. The square pizza is flavorful, though I personally would have liked a bit more texture to the crust. Overall, the food is great, but the cheesesteaks are truly exceptional and highly recommended.

Google
This place has the best thin(er) crust pizza around - fresh toppings, well crafted, outstanding flavor on the sauce & cheese. Their square pies have cheese caramelized on the outside of the pan and sauce in channels on the top. Round pies are also tasty, especially the white pizza...not just olive oil but really flavorful base. One unique thing about the crust that is excellent: there are sesame seeds! I wouldn't have thought to do that with a pie but maaaaan does it add flavor and texture. The cheesesteaks are also a work of art: fresh shaved ribeye (no steakums here) on a fresh sesame seeded roll. Finally, the people that work here take pride in their work and it shows in both the end product and their interaction with guests. There is seating in the back which, while basic, is perfect for the experience. Bathroom is clean as well.

Got there when they opened on a Sunday, I know it’s gets extremely busy which it did before I left. Two large pizzas and two monster cheesesteaks took about 30 minutes. The staff is friendly, great atmosphere. Best cheesesteaks and pizza I’ve had in a long time, I highly recommend!

This place has the best cheese fries by far. I came to try the "best cheesesteak on the main line." they were sold out around the time I visited, so I went for junk fries instead. And it did not disappoint. Perfect amount of cheese and bacon to the point where I couldn't almost finish it all 😅

I'm on a 4000-mile motorcycle trip and was 120 miles away from this place when their tiktok came across my fyp. On a whim, I decided to head here to try a real Philly cheesesteak. Let me tell you now, that was a great decision. The meat is overflowing with every bite.. the cheese is a different cheese but in a good way.. the onions and peppers are on point.. this sesame roll adds to the different combination of flavors, and they all just come together for perfection. This is the greatest cheesesteak I have ever had the pleasure to take a bite of! If you're on the fence or not sure where to go, this, this is the place to go!

This used to be Pizzi’s Pizza. Changed hands to Johnny’s and the offerings are awesome without stealing the nostalgia of the space. Excellent cheesesteak. Cooper sharp all day. Pizza was great. Highly recommend.

Me and two of my friends didn't realize they closed at 8:30 and rolled into the shop at 8:20. We were those people, but they still made us the best pizza that I've had in the area. Unreal crunch, cooked perfectly!

Winner winner Cheesesteak Dinner !!! Johnny's Pizza in Bryn Mawr has been on my list for a while. So my son and I drove from Delco to taste what everyone has been raving about. We jumped on I95 and my son tried to call in an order. No answer. It took us about 35 minutes to get there on Wednesday at 4:00pm. We walked in and it smelled fantastic !! They weren't very busy right before the dinner rush , so i ordered The Monster Sized Cheesesteak Cooper and Fried Onions, a 10 inch of the same for my daughter , a 10 inch with "Spicy Cooper " and Onions, a round Pepperoni and a Cheesesteak Stromboli. My son and I were able to run over to the comic book store and browse till the food was ready. I carried our takeout order to the car watching the steam billowing from our freshly cooked pizza. 😋😋😋 We sat in the car and ate a slice while the car warmed up. DELICIOUS !!!!!!! From the crispy dough packed with flavor, to the top tier Cup Pepperoni and perfect sauce- cheese ratio. The Fresh Basil leaves are the "Chefs Kiss" to this highly memorable pizza. I took a few bites of my second slice and prepared myself for the arduous task ahead of driving down 476 to 95 back to Delco. It took roughly an hour to get back, so i set the oven to 375 unwrapped the "Monster" and reheated it on a foil tray for about 15 minutes. Till it got crunchy on top. It was easily big enough for my 19 year old son and I to share . Especially after eating a slice of pizza in the car. Right away we noticed the Carmelized Onions were so much better than Steaks WC, Lorenzo's, Angelo's, JRP & Cafe Carmela. The roll came back very nicely in the oven. And high points for mixing meat, cheese and onions together. I haven't tried the Cheesesteak spicy Cooper yet or the Stromboli. But I'm pretty sure they're just as good as what I've tried so far. Johnny's Pizza in Bryn Mawr is now my #1 Favorite Cheesesteak !! It really was the Onions that pushed this Cheesesteak to the top of my list

Yelp
Can a sandwich be life-changing? It absolutely can be if it's a cheesesteak from Johhny's Pizza. I was in the Philadelphia area and getting ready for a five-hour drive home, and asked a friend for a recommendation for a good place to grab a cheesesteak. He said without hesitation, "Johnny's Pizza in Bryn Mawr." This hole in the wall was slammed with Sunday football take-out business, but when I stepped inside, I could tell by the delicious aromas coming from the pizza ovens I had come to the right place. I ordered the "big boy" monster size cheesesteak with grilled onions and specified American cheese instead of Whiz or whatever some people put on their steaks. They guys behind the counter were proud of the Cooper Sharp American cheese they use, and I said pile it on. I grabbed a local Kutztown Birch Beer (made with sugar cane) and sat in the dining area to wait for my sandwich and watch my football team lose. It was worth the wait. The resulting sandwich was as long as my arm! I waited until I was back on the Turnpike to tear into the sandwich. I took my first bite of that hearty sesame seed roll and immediately was in heaven. The sandwich was packed with tender meat, held firmly in place by the cheese. I was used to softer Amaroso rolls, but the harder sesame roll was the perfect choice to hold this monster sandwich together. Absolutely the best cheesesteak sandwich I have had in a long time, and one that kept all its meat and cheese inside the roll, which was appreciated on the drive home. I used all my willpower to save the other half of the sandwich for lunch the next day, which reheated nicely in the microwave when wrapped in a damp paper towel to keep the bread from drying out and getting chewy. It was with some sadness that I finished the sandwich today. I would easily make the five-hour drive back down there to get another sandwich without hesitation. Don't mess with perfection, just meat, onions, and cheese. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
I LOVE a great pizza spot that also slings out great cheesesteaks. A gem that doesn't need the all those advertisements that others depend on. Johnny's has been doing it right ever since they took over the old Pizzi Pizza. Picture this kiddies, fresh sliced rib-eye waiting to be thrown on that grill. Perfect marbleized cut after cut of that rib-eye will give you that great flavor with every bite. Now that I gave you somewhat of a visual of the quality type of meat to expect , lets go a little further. What makes a great sammy? Some say it's the ingredients and prep work. Others say its the establishment and traditions behind it. My friends it is all about that bread, the foundation behind it. That is where you start this masterpiece, and Johnny's has it my friends. Yes the tradition is important, and they follow it to the "T" but it starts with the choice of bread. Now onto that pizza that has me screaming obscenities', literally I'd smack a nun in the mouth for this. Obviously I'd put powdered sugar in my hand to give her that sweet blissful experience. A square pie , simple , easy, throw some sausage on there, and yea this is winning all day. So. Frigging. Good. Add a sesame seed crust with that hot honey drizzle over it, and I'm telling you you'll be moaning. Soft, subtle euphoric moans as your taste buds are going crazy. Ok , as you can see from the other Yelpers we're not lying about this. Sooo just stop reading this, and get in there.

Yelp
During a work trip, I decided I wanted to try a Philly cheese steak, after doing some research I decided to check out Johnny's pizza. Service was great! They were very helpful when I asked questions and didn't make me feel like a total rube for not knowing much about cheese steaks. I ended up having a delicious cheese steak and pop! I also liked checking out all of the "art" on the walls. Check this place out if you are in the area, the food is delicious!

Yelp
Cheese steak with onions, mushrooms and cooper sharp! First time there on Tuesday 10/16/24. On my way home to Chester Springs, always wanted to stop and try so I did...Glad I Did. Cheese steak Guru's on Facebook have mentioned this spot on several occasions and took some of their (bloggers) advice. If you blink you drive right by and parking can be dicey! But it's worth the trip. Steak chopped but not mush, onions caramelized for nice sweet taste and mushrooms added a bit of earthiness. The cooper sharp just rounds out the flavor of the toasted roll and sesame seeds. 10 inch seeded roll, plenty of meat and it made the 35 minute trip home and was still warm and delicious. My pictures don't do the sandwich justice but it was spot on! Wish I lived closer. I have Gazzos, Gentili's and Pudges near by so I am content! Check them out for sure!!

Yelp
Stopped in on Saturday of Dad's day weekend right after opening time. Ordered a round pie with pepperoni. Also added a cheesesteak with Cooper sharp and onions. Now, onto the main event - the pizza! I opted for a round pepperoni , and it did not disappoint. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of char from the oven. The tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, topped with generous slices of fresh mozzarella and fragrant basil leaves. Each bite was a delightful combination of tangy tomato, creamy cheese, and herbal notes. Clearly the best pizza in Western 'burbs. The cheesesteak is similarly phenomenal. Loaded and tangy with that sharp American cheese and seeded roll. I don't eat as many cheesesteaks as I might have at another time, for comparison, but this is near the tippy top.

Yelp
After lots of chatter on the Facebook groups about how good this place is, I finally found myself in the area and was able to try it. Called 10:45am on Sunday morning I got through right away and place an order for large square pepperoni and cheesesteak. It was kinda tough to hear over the phone as some loud punk rock playing but ultimately was able to get the order through. I arrived 25 minutes later and paid cash close to $40. Food met every expectation I had. Was delicious and along the lines of power players in the pizza industry: Crust (Havertown), Goats Beard, Pizza Jawn, L'Angola, and Pizzeria Beddia. Expensive in price but highly recommend. You are paying for quality.

Yelp
If you are in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and craving a cheesesteak, Johnny's Pizza offers a solid cheesesteak. The pizza is also very good (it is after all, a pizza place. The name kind of gives that away). Walking up to the simple building, I just knew that I was in for a treat at Johnny's Pizza. It has that old-school vibe and from the outside you can see that this place is the real deal. The staff at Johnny's Pizza is friendly and professional. This is always a plus and the team at Johnny's Pizza helped make the overall experience a better one. I went with a cheesesteak with Cooper Sharp and fried onions. If you are unfamiliar with Cooper Sharp cheese, it is a great melting cheese and a staple in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area in general. It is my preferred cheese for cheesesteaks and this cheesesteak certainly did not let me down. This cheesesteak hits you in a primal way. You know you are eating something pretty incredible and savoring every bite. Eating this cheesesteak shows how a cheesesteak can be a culinary wonder. I was very impressed with the cheesesteak at Johnny's Pizza. If you are in the area, this can save a trip to Philadelphia and still enjoy an amazing cheesesteak. Cheesesteaks are something amazing and no trip to this part of the world would be complete without enjoying a cheesesteak. If you are in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Johnny's Pizza can save you a trip to Philadelphia and you can still get your cheesesteak fix. I love a great cheesesteak and Johnny's Pizza definitely delivers a great cheesesteak. The pizza is definitely good, as well. Go check out Johnny's Pizza for yourself, I am confident that you will be impressed. I give Johnny's Pizza five stars overall.

Brian C.

Yelp
Have not been back for pizza, but have had the cheesesteak on multiple occasions now and it is amazing! I get the 16", which is about $25 but will easily feed 2-3 people. The seeded roll is lightly toasted, the fried onions cooked perfectly, copper sharp, and a nice chop on enough fresh ribeye that it will have a nice heft when you pick it up. Service has been great every time, the counter and grill people are always quick and kind. Plenty of seating in the back if you want to eat in. I have to try the pizza again but the cheesesteak is so good I have trouble trying anything else. Only issue is the parking. You can sometimes get a lucky street spot or try the lot across the street by the tin lizard.

Katie J.

Yelp
The service was fast and friendly. The cheesesteaks are fantastic! I eat one every few years and this one was absolutely worthy of being the only cheesesteak I'll consume for the foreseeable future. One star off for it being overpriced though.

Nikki C.

Yelp
I HAD to check out what all of the foodies were posting about on social media. I did my research beforehand and called my order in early. They kindly told me my square would be done in about an hour (on a Tuesday evening). Slid thru to pick up and it's your normal pizza spot. The cashiers were really nice and the price wasn't half bad. I got a square pizza half cheese half sausage w/ hot honey. You can definitely taste the fresh ingredients and the lovin in the dough. They were skimpy on the sausages and the cheese so it messed up the vibe. Now that I see they're good for cheesesteaks I'll try that next time.

Marc B.

Yelp
I've heard about the cheesesteaks at this place and wanted to get here for a while. Finally had a chance before a Villanova basketball game. Ordered their Monster to split with a friend. This sandwich could easily be split between 3 or maybe 4 people. Easily one of the best cheesesteaks. Period! Up there with Angelo's or John's Roast Pork. Seeded roll with good chew and not too crusty. Meat seasoned nicely. Finely chopped. Fried onions and Cooper sharp mixed with the meat (not layered on top so it falls off with every bite) If you're in the area, try it. If you're not in the area, drive in to the area so you can try it

Jen T.

Yelp
Wow. Forget the overhyped spots in the city, Johnny's is the place to go for all your cheesesteak and pizza needs. I was first introduced to their pizza through a pizza bracket party that I hosted, where Johnny's made it to the semifinals and probably could have won had it not been for crust pizza (Havertown), another heavy hitter. But the pizza was delicious, with a crisp, tasty crust and great sauce and ingredients, so I knew I had to go there and try more. I was feeling more cheesesteaky today, so went and followed reviewers' advice and got the cooper sharp cheese and fried onions, and when I say this was one of the best cheesesteaks I've had, I really mean it! The sesame roll is crisp and lightly toasted, thick but not too thick, and the meat is the perfect texture, thoroughly coated in their delicious cheese. At other places, I often add ketchup because their steaks are a little bland, but no ketchup was needed in this case--the flavors shined on their own! The quality of the cheesesteak and its individual ingredients was impressive. If I ever have friends visiting from out of town, I will recommend this place to them! None of those tourist traps. Service was friendly and pretty fast (I ordered in person right when they opened on a weekday). There's some seating and a smallish bathroom and crayon/marker all over the walls, and one old school fighting arcade game, so if you wanna sit and eat, you can, but you probably wouldn't go for the ambiance. The food and service though? Absolutely.

David T.

Yelp
You will taste the quality ingredients in your first bite! Johnnys is the real deal!! I can say without reservation that it is one of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had, so no need to travel into Philly if Johnny's is within reach. Flavor filled ribeye steak sliced to perfection (and void of any gristle), blended with smooth and creamy Cooper Sharp Cheese and perfectly grilled onions...surrounded by a fresh baked and ever so slightly chewy seeded roll... will have you thanking God for the founding fathers and the inventor of the Philly cheesesteak! One bite of the pizza and you'll be wondering if it wasn't delivered through the back door by a little old lady straight off a boat from Italy! The sauce is so fresh and perfectly balanced that you'll find yourself wanting more of it... to eat it with a spoon. Cheers to Johnny and "pizza master" Jason for serving up top shelf quality food that you won't soon forget!

David L.

Yelp
Had the pizza and a cheesesteak courtesy of my son, and it was simply delicious. Can't go wrong with any of their offerings!

Magnolia M.

Yelp
Great pizza! Friendly, quick service. Located on Lancaster Ave (just before Surreal and White House Tajine). The mozzarella sticks are packed with Mozz cheese and crisped to perfection. Don't fahgetta bout the side of marinara ;)

Jan K.

Yelp
I'm writing this review reluctantly, though as I wish the place success, social media has resulted in this hidden gem being "discovered." Don't even bother calling. They stop answering the phone an hour after opening. It's not that they don't deserve the attention. Both the pizza and the cheesesteaks are comparable to the legendary Angelo's of 9th street (which is cash only and has lines with hour-long waits .. and no seats. Johnny accepts credit cards, has seating, and can generally get a cheesesteak to you within 15 minutes (or 30 for a pizza.) He doesn't bake rolls in house, but uses the expensive (and worth it) rolls from artisan bakery Mayerbacher of Germantown. Sturdy, crusty and chewy, they are up there with the best of Sarcone's, but with their own flavor. Default American is Cooper Sharp, and a new hot-chili version (cheese sauce) has been added. Pizza is made in a couple of ovens, with the owner juggling pies between the screaming hot top one and the cooler bottom. 00 flour gives a superb char that LOOKS burned but tastes fantastic. Fresh Mozz, hand crushed plum tomatoes finished with freshly grated Pecorino and torn basil result in a pizza that would not be out of place in Naples.

Tim H.

Yelp
Very good pizza! The round is excellent ! I Like the new ovens. Just when you thought the pizza couldn't get any better, it did!

Jeff M.

Yelp
Best pizza in the area. No doubt. Need to get a bigger spot with more ovens but keep the quality same.

Tysha S.

Yelp
Pizza is delicious. The thin crust is rolled and tossed out just right. They have seating to sit in and eat but it's set up better for to go orders. The hot wings were fried crispy before being tossed in the sauce which made them really good. I wish they had more beverage options but the bottled root beer I had was tasty. The seating area is adorned with signatures and messages from patrons on the wall. It's a cute concept for the space. Overall a good experience but if you're eating in the parking can be tricky!!

Becky F.

Yelp
This is a good cheesesteak and pie but despite the rigamarole to even get an order in they're always late with the pick up or messing up orders. Not sure how many chances it's worth.

Jeremy G.

Yelp
I'm going 4 stars here for a benefit of the doubt for being open less than 2 years at the time of writing this. Now, fair warning, I'm an Angelo's (9th & Fitzwater) snob til i die. This place isn't that for sure, but as far as quality outside of the city it's pretty solid. I'll separate my review for each below. Pizza: Good hold, dough is a good taste, pep is a lil spicy which I like. Comes with shaved Pecorino (I think) which some people don't like, but that's how the gourmet's are doing it these days. 'The cheese is clearly the show of the pie. They use a normal amount of cheese but go lighter on the sauce. Now the sauce has quite a pleasantly different taste to it, so maybe that's why. It's almost a unique taste on a sweeter sauce. Personally, I like more sauce than what they had on there. So I can give them like 3.7/5 for the pizza. Steak: Quality meat, and a lot of it packed in. Which I love. Just by feeling the roll I know it's not made there which is just always going to knock it down a couple of pegs. Both in perspective and taste. Having the baked in house fresh rolls from the city and Primos is just the new standard to me. Like I said, I'm a snob. Now it definitely seems to me, and I could be wrong, that they're using a cooper sharp cheese sauce instead of cheese slices. Again, I could be wrong. It doesn't taste bad, but I've had plenty of cooper sharp steaks that were cheese slices that tasted better. There's enough sesame seeds on this thing to start a farm, which doesn't really bother me but it might bother others. Steak gets about a 3.5/5 for me. For reference, I'd put it right in the middle of the fast steak places (Gino's, Pat's, Jim's etc.) and the gourmet places (Angelo's, Steaks West Chester etc.). Overall a solid tasty middle of the pack steak that's worth the price given how much meat is packed into this thing, and the pizza is unique enough to make the slice hard to put down. If you aren't a snob like me, this place is perfect for you. For me, at the moment, in my experience in the counties, the only place topping them at the moment (not including the city of course) are both of Pizza and Steaks in West Chester. Not bad for only being open for under 2 years.

Mitch S.

Yelp
Top tier!!! As good or better than anywhere else and that's saying something since I would drive over an hour for a cheesesteak and the best pizza around Philly as well!

Zach K.

Yelp
The best pizza in the Mainline. Shhh don't tell anyone. Cheesesteak with cooper and onion was amazing too

Derek D.

Yelp
Great pizza, great cheesesteak. It is some of the best in the area on both fronts. Highly recommend their food.

Jay C.

Yelp
The cheesesteaks are phenomenal. Cooper sharp with fried onions is as good as any that I have had. Angelo's South Philly is still my favorite but this is pretty close. Round and square pizza are good. Crust is very crispy and has great crunch. Sauce is very savory / salty. The round is better and square.

Atiya G.

Yelp
The pizza is 10/10...so good! It's such a great surprise to get pizza this good in the burbs. The crust is the perfect thickness, the sauce tastes homemade and I love the tomato chunks. There is so much flavor in this pizza - garlic, basil, oil. Just a mouthful of goodness with every bite. I recently heard about this place from a Facebook review and have already ordered pizza from there three times in about two weeks. It would have been four if they hadn't sold out. Yup, the sell out so make sure you order early. Johnny's has become our pizza go to place. It never disappoints. The absolute best!!

Marie M.

Yelp
Best pizza on the mainline. Have to call 4 hours ahead on the weekends though. Great food and nice people!

Tyne W.

Yelp
Solid cheesesteak and pizza. Beef was tender and high quality. Ensure to order ahead.

Andrew C.

Yelp
Incredible pizza and cheese steaks. I had a pepperoni square pie and it was the best pizza I've had on the Main Line. As others mentioned difficulty is getting order in as they currently don't take online orders and are often busy. Some other operational issues as well (today their oven went down so a few hours with no pizza). But I'm hopeful they'll nail those problems down and increase capacity bc the product is so high quality.

Andrew R.

Yelp
Great pizza round or Roman-style ALERT--Named in The Philadelphia Inquirer on list of best pizza in Philly 3/2024. They are too busy to answer the phone. He sells out everyday. Order in person. Homemade sauce, fresh mozzarella, dough made everyday on premises. Round is good Brooklyn-style with sesame seeds on the crust, square is fantastic. No flop, no grease,as good as Angelo's. John is a great guy too. Worth the trip and worth the wait.

Aubree A.

Yelp
My fiancé and I split a cheesesteak (with American and onions), hot bbq bone-in wings, and a small house salad with balsamic; everything was 5/5. The cheesesteak is make with ribeye with melted cheese and onions mixed in and the bread was really fresh. My fiancé has really high standards when it comes to wings and he was very impressed by the size, breading and sauce that came with the wings. Lastly, seems boring and healthy, but the salad was fresh and had really yummy homemade croutons. There is seating in the back. It was a little warm up there, but there were plenty of tables, a tv with the basketball game on and it had unique charm in that they encourage people to write on the walls with markers. I thought it was perfect for a quick bite at a hole in the wall pizza spot. We can't wait to go back next time and try some pizza.

Adam C.

Yelp
Damn good pizza. Toughest thing about this place is getting an order in and being able to pick up within a reasonable amount of time because they are so busy. I tried three times in the past and it was always a couple hours for a pie. This time i walked in randomly after having ramen down the street on a Sunday afternoon and was able to place an order in person. Left 15 minutes later with a perfectly made pizza. Great crust. Thin yet chewy and perfectly crisp and stiff lightly charred and delicious. Good fresh tasting sauce, spicy fresh pepperoni, quality cheeses and an overall great product. I now understand why they are so busy. It's the best pie in the area.

Yelp
Had my first Johnny's pizza tonight. Thought I'd surprise my Dad with a traditional pizza (which he loves), rather than torturing him with the kale-topped gluten-free variety I usually get. The guys behind the counter were friendly and helpful. The pepperoni and mushroom-topped pizza I ordered was great. Tender crust, generous toppings and rich flavor. I would go back in a heartbeat - and I can hardly wait to try the cheesesteaks!

Yelp
Got pizza last night. Pizza crust was burnt. Disappointed. Expected more after hearing Reviews

Yelp
I have gotten Johnny's pizza plenty of times with my brother, and it does not disappoint every time. I have had both their cheese steaks and a pizza with pepperoni and sausage when I tell you it is incredible it does not do it justice it is better than incredible. Whenever I hang out with my brother we get Johnny's pizza. It is a friendly environment in the shop and the people who work there are al so genuine. I highly, highly recommend going to Johnny's Pizza.

Yelp
I seriously cannot say enough good things about this place. The pizza is the best pizza in the area, and the cannoli was genuinely the best cannoli I've had in my life. Everyone working there is very down to earth and overall the ambiance is very welcoming. Overall just love this place

Yelp
Sold out of pizza 3.5 hours before close. I was so excited to try this place because of the reviews and the pictures, but when I called ahead, they said they were sold out of pizza. Super disappointing. I'm sure their food is great, but "Johnny's Pizza" should have pizza available. I also don't understand how more pizza can't be made if there's still four hours left in the night?

Yelp
This was the best cheesesteak I've had since Angelo's on Ninth Street. I can't wait to try their pizza!

Yelp
The cheesesteak egg rolls were the best I ever had, super fresh, hit all the right notes and you can tell they are made to order! The pizza is by far the best in the area, fresh ingredients, crispy, light and packed with flavor. Highly recommend Johnny's, a welcomed addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
The pizza is the most flavorful pizza I've had in years. Fresh ingredients and well put together. The chicken wings are freaking amazing! Cooked well every time. Don't even get me started on that damn dill dipping sauce! Love, love, love!!!

Yelp
Back in the Villanova area for a basketball game and stopped at Johnny's for a cheese steak. What a great idea. This place is the real deal. The dining room seems like the basement of a frat house, but the sandwich was the best. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Location: Lancaster Avenue, with parking lots both across the street and on the same side of the street. Interior: small, but efficient use of space. Seating a few steps up. Staff: gracious, and gave assistance as needed (I was walking with a cane). Speed: I walked in, placed my order and was out in 25 minutes. Quality: a wide variety of tasty fresh toppings, firm but tasty crust. The pizza stayed warm all of the way home-with heated seats

Yelp
"We're out of pizza" I cannot believe my ears as pizzas are flying out of the oven. All I asked for is how long it would be for one slice of pizza. This place is more interested in preorders than customers ordering in person. First and last time I will order from this place.

Yelp
From Philly and whenever i want a gourmet cheesesteak i slide here Nbs!! Pizza look nasty i never tried it , but they cheesesteaks can't be beat!!

Yelp
Stopped in this place based on the reviews. We normally go to Philly for cheesesteaks but wanted to try something new. We ordered a square cheese pie, garlic knots and cheesesteaks. The pizza was probably the best, sweet sauce and fresh ingredients. Next, the garlic knots were pretty decent, fresh baked close to NY style with a punch of garlic. Last was the cheesesteak. Bread was good, sandwich was good but I wouldn't call it a cheesesteak. Seemed more like a chopped up, smash burger. Flavors were good and all but not what I would consider a cheesesteak.

Yelp
Great, fresh pizza! Friendly service too. It's a small place so expect a wait but it's worth it. Best slice outside New York!
