John's Corner Deli exemplifies everything special about small, locally owned businesses. Deb, the owner, is incredibly hardworking and takes a personal interest in her customers. Regulars will appreciate how she remembers names and food preferences, adding a personal touch you simply won’t find at big chains.
Food here is always fresh and delicious, with specials rotating regularly. For instance, chicken cutlets might only be available every other Thursday, or roast beef on a specific day. If a particular special, like mushroom soup, isn’t your favorite, the regular menu always offers plenty of great options to choose from.
Primarily a breakfast and lunch spot, the deli operates with an early morning start and closes around 6 PM. It’s not really a dinner destination, but if you plan ahead, it’s perfect for picking up something simple to take home. Deb also offers catering services and preplanned holiday meals, though you’ll need to coordinate with her directly.
Delivery services like GrubHub or DoorDash aren’t offered, likely due to their high fees, which can significantly cut into already tight profit margins in the food industry. However, this doesn’t take away from the experience. Working from home, I often call ahead to place my order and pick it up on my way out. My food is always ready when I arrive, and the quick trip doubles as a nice break from the computer.
John's Corner Deli is more than just a place to grab a bite—it’s a welcoming spot where customers feel valued, and every meal reflects Deb’s commitment to quality and care. A much better option than Wawa, and a local gem worth supporting!
