As a bottle shop, you won't find any better than John's. Their sheer selection, volume and variety can be overwhelming, but for beer heads (and even some wineheads... er...winos?) it's hard to find fault here. Aisles are nice and wide, shelves are stocked by region, the back walls are lined with big refrigerators and the staff is super helpful.
This location is different from the others in that they have the bar in a separate room, which I have to say works really well here. It's an entirely different vibe in there, kinda airy with lots of windows and plenty of seating at the counter; tables are scattered around the middle of the room, and there are a couple of booths along the exterior wall. The kitchen is in here too, and while the menu looks fairly basic -- burgers, sandwiches, salads --- the food coming out looked pretty robust. I'll update once I've actually eaten here though. It's a nice setup and needless to say, super casual ---and there's a decent sized outdoor patio off to the side as well with lots of tables.
The bar has a nice tap list of local brews --- IPAs, pilsners and more --- and even a couple of nice wines and ciders, and servers were more than accommodating. A nice addition to the neighborhood.
