I knew of the other two in Multnomah Village and on SE 34th and Powell, I had no idea there was a John’s Market in Beaverton until my friends asked to meet there. The business is clean and well lighted. There are two halves. The first is the bottle shop with rows and rows of beer and other drinks. The second part is the tap house with a kitchen. The tap house has indoor and outdoor seating. There are great beers to choose from on tap and an $8.5 smash burger. I drank the Russian River IPA and the Fort George 3-way collaboration was my second. It was remarkably lightly patronized for a Friday night. Freeland Brewing was had free samples and I picked up a free hat.

Google
Great Pub food - excellent burger, love the swanky swine sandwich, and the killer turkey is…. Pretty killer! Fresh food and good bread/buns. Wide selection at the taps, but you can also buy anything in the shop and pay $1 to have it opened. Small sake selection that’s pretty decent, large beer and cider selection, and a fair amount of NA options as well

Google
Went to John’s marketplace on Hall in Beaverton for the Pliny the younger ‘25 release. Great super helpful staff, we grabbed a veggie burger and enjoyed the packed house for the Russian river celebration. Always fun to check out the bottle shop and picked up a couple fun pints to take home.

Google
finally found a nice bottle shop in this area! plenty of beers in stock foreign and local! prices are a bit high but variety seems excellent. Enjoy New Holland Dragons Milk and they have a steady supply! thanks!

Google
I have to say that John’s market place has an outstanding selection of beer to purchase. They also have a nice selection of siders and wines. There is a lovely patio area and an indoor dining area. If you are going to John’s to purchase beverages, they are a five-star location. If you are going there to eat, well, good luck to you. You start off ordering at the countertop. When we ordered, my husband asked if he could get mustard, she was having a burger. There was a little confusion as to whether or not, they have mustard. I decided to go simple and ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. Eventually we were called and went to pick up our food. The mustard still seem to present a problem. Then I asked for salt and pepper again there was confusion. Eventually, the bartender went into the back and came out with three plastic sauce, containers containing salt, pepper, and mustard. I sat down to eat my grilled cheese sandwich and I could see there was the end of a piece of bacon sticking out, that was the only piece of bacon. My husband did like his hamburger once he got some mustard on it. The salad was okay. Basically this is a place to drink and they have a few eats and apparently a lack of condiments. Come for the beer and go elsewhere for the eats.

Google
John's Marketplace is one of those treasure places you find once in a while in a small town. This medium size world beers and wine store and restaurants is so cool, you can find beers from around the globe there. I was surprised about the amount of beers and wines they have in there store. They have recommendations if you don't know what to drink by asking you questions based on your tastes. I got to try a beers called (Saison Dupont) from Belgium and I loved it. They have a burger place inside the store where you can get burger, philly cheesstake, salade, sandwiches ets......The prices range from $3 and up for beers and bottles of wine can go up to $100. You will be surprised to find wine from France to South Africa. I recommend this John's Marketplace. I will visit again

Google
This place was SUPER cool! It reminded me and my husband of a place we love back home in Austin called the Whip In. John's has a separate room for buying specialty, local, and import bottles/6 packs. You can purchase a can or bottle and bring it to the restaurant part, pay a opening fee, and enjoy it with your food. The Reuben sandwich was hearty and delicious. I personally loved the options on their menu, and the prices were quite affordable. Servers and bar staff were friendly and fast. 10/10!

Google
Iconic Portland bottle shop and taphouse and sandwich place finally comes to Beaverton! Biggest selection of beer anywhere. I love imported Belgian and German beers so this is my go-to place to get hard to find bottled beers. They also have like 18 beers on tap with a good variety (not just 18 IPAs like every other taphouse in Portland nowadays). They have a small menu of really good sandwiches including rueben, pastrami, and turkey among others. They even have outside seating so you can enjoy your beer and sammich in the pouring rain!

Yelp
As a bottle shop, you won't find any better than John's. Their sheer selection, volume and variety can be overwhelming, but for beer heads (and even some wineheads... er...winos?) it's hard to find fault here. Aisles are nice and wide, shelves are stocked by region, the back walls are lined with big refrigerators and the staff is super helpful. This location is different from the others in that they have the bar in a separate room, which I have to say works really well here. It's an entirely different vibe in there, kinda airy with lots of windows and plenty of seating at the counter; tables are scattered around the middle of the room, and there are a couple of booths along the exterior wall. The kitchen is in here too, and while the menu looks fairly basic -- burgers, sandwiches, salads --- the food coming out looked pretty robust. I'll update once I've actually eaten here though. It's a nice setup and needless to say, super casual ---and there's a decent sized outdoor patio off to the side as well with lots of tables. The bar has a nice tap list of local brews --- IPAs, pilsners and more --- and even a couple of nice wines and ciders, and servers were more than accommodating. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
The GOOD - Good value for $9 for a 1/4lb smash burger - CRISPIEST smashed edges I've had - Fresh veggies - Came with a side of chips - Well lit outdoor patio perfect for the summer The MIDS - $8 for a small cider is a bit much... other places like Craft Pour House is $5 or $6 OVERALL Great place for burgers with a little pricey drinks. The outdoor patio has plenty of seating and will be perfect for the summer. Drinks are a little pricey but there is a huge variety.

Yelp
Great spot for a delicious burger and a beer. The sandwiches are great as well! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and can help point you in the right direction. A lightbulb went on for me when I realized they keep as much beer in the coolers as possible, rather than on the shelves. They were more than happy to offer to order some beer for me that they didn't have in stock (I might take them up on that!) and even had some alternative options to help out. It's a relaxed atmosphere in the bar and store, with two huge walls of coolers full of beers to shop through. I also saw they do keg sales which is great to know about when you've got a birthday coming up! They also had a bunch of non alcoholic options which I appreciate, and some other fun beverages for people who don't drink. I'm glad this place is in town!

Yelp
Small selection of food, basically hamburgers and pastrami sandwich's served with hard to eat potato chips. Service was good. But, this place is for beer and wine lovers. They have so many different types of imported beers and wine. They also have an outdoor patio which is nice with it warming up.
google avatar

Yelp
The Swanky Swine is an awesome sandwich, much better than expected. Price points overall are fair. One negative: kinda silly they don't have ice for drinks when consuming on the premises. No, I don't want to purchase a bag of ice.

Yelp
Ordered: -Double deluxe smash burger -Nachos -Grilled cheese Pro: -We recommend the smash burger and definitely the nachos!! The beers were solid and they have some really cool and unique options -Come during happy hour (ends at 6pm) -We really enjoyed trying the beers and then having the option of looking around the store and purchasing it for ourselves afterwards -Clean interior & exterior with friendly staff -Plenty of parking in a large plaza -Outdoor seating with spacious wooden picnic benches & a large umbrella to keep us shaded & dog friendly!! Con: -Food is good quality, but not the highlight. You come here for the drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Service, selection and atmosphere, this place has it all + great sandwiches. John's is a Portland-area tradition.

Yelp
Hidden gem and its absolutely worth trying! The inside of the store is so cool looking. The burgers are DELICIOUS and taste better than any other burger around the area. The in-house made ketchup is so good too just the cherry on top! The outside patio is so cute and they have shade too. The service was great our server was so sweet and helped make our lunch experience great! I definitely recommend trying this place out!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Great place to grab a beer, cider or kombucha. You can also go to the bottle shop and find something to enjoy if you can't find something on tap that you like. They have pretty awesome sandwiches, wraps and burgers here too. However the kitchen seems to be closed half an hour before they close. Friendly service and plenty of parking.

Yelp
Service was amazing food was right there with it had the cowboy bebop love the names that they have for there food and drinks fun place good vibes on top of it they have a nice selection of beers if you get a chance try there hot sauce it's really good should have written this review earlier but give they place a try

Yelp
Popped in for a bit and just to scope out the beer selection. The outdoor seating was so perfect. The folks working were nice and helpful. The food came out fast and we didn't get a number so the guy actually remembered us as people who ordered the food! I want to go back already.

Yelp
Had an amazing time at John's marketplace on Hall in Beaverton at the Pliny the younger 2025 Russian River Brewing celebration. Great time at the packed house. The staff was super nice, even though the bottle shop and restaurant were full to the brim. We got a veggie burger to split as we enjoyed our 2 pints.

Yelp
Love this market! I go to pick up beer, and cider. I haven't eaten here. It's a great place to find local beer, as well as beer from all over the world. It's a fun place to find new favorites.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was decent but what an awkward experience when we walked in the bar area. People stared at me and my wife when we walked in. Maybe because we weren't white. It was confusing because there is no menu on the wall or posted anywhere. Its just on the counter top at the bar. Cashier seemed like he had no social skills. Didn't even show us where the food menu was. So we had to figure out everything on our own. It took us a while to look at the menu and the cashier didn't even bother to ask us if we had any questions. When i did have a question about an item he seemed annoyed to answer them. It was just a weird experience. Its my first and probably my last time going there.

Yelp
I came here for Burger Week. You order at the counter, and the server was wonderful, she was so friendly and helpful. She encouraged us to do as many beer tasters as we wanted. There is a large patio with huge umbrellas, inside seating is spacious. The jahn mi burger was delicious--I really liked the pickled veggies and the Sriracha aioli was just the right amount of spiciness.
google avatar

Amy A.

Yelp
The grill inside the market place and tap house is inviting and bright . Service was good. Order at the counter, food was prompt. Husband liked his Ruben sandwich, said was above average. The hummus plate was disappointing. The hummus was grainy and not smooth with an either vinegar or lemon flavor that took over. The steak sandwich has promise but was over taken by the habanero marinade. Servings were more than adequate. The burgers looked good, probably should have went with one of those.

Yelp
What a wonderful find! Directly across the street from the food truck park, parking is a bit of an issue. They have their own off-street parking but it's pretty small so you'll likely have to find a spot on the street. This place has an impressive selection of craft beers from around the world. Unexpectedly, they have a smaller but interesting selection of wines. They have a truly impressive selection of vermouths, many of which I had not seen before. I ordered a nice Belgian ale that was on tap (see photo). The barkeep was quite proud of his accomplishment of finding a supply of kegs of this brew as well he should be. We all ordered sandwich's and grabbed a table while we could, as the lunch crows was streaming in. Their food menu is small, a few grilled sandwiches and some burgers, but my Swanky was really delicious. Of course we had to purchase a basket of brews - they sell individual cans and bottles so you can try out a new brew without spending a fortune. We'll be back! I want to try one of their burgers next time, maybe with a gose.

Yelp
Finally this place is in Beaverton! I love finding new beers at John's market place. They have a wide variety of beers and wine. This spot is a little small than the other location but still a good option for the Beaverton area. I like how they have a bar/food area and patio. Didn't seem too busy when I went, the staff were really friendly! Will be going to this place more often since it's close by!
google avatar

Jodi R.

Yelp
We stopped in just as the kitchen closed so I cannot comment on the food but the cider and beer selection is amazing! I'm drinking portland cider cinnamon roll hard apple cider - delicious! And picked up a variety of beers and ciders to try out at home. The seating area inside is really nice not too loud. And the outside space looks really cute. I like this! I gave 4 stars since I did not try the food.
google avatar

Gary S.

Yelp
Nice selection of draft beers. Didn't try the burgers but they look tasty. I ordered The Virgil and it was great. Best bottle shop on the west side! I can't drink most beer for medical reasons but I still enjoy window shopping and John's has shelf after shelf of beer from around the world. Definitely recommend for a casual meal with a beer.

Yelp
Stopped by at @johnsmarketplace for lunch. When you walk in it has a full selection of beers, ipa, wine and more. On the left corner theres a bar that serves amazing smash burgers served with maui chips. The nachos were a personal favorite . My husband had thd 4 B burger made with basil brie and bacon jam. He loved it and would only let me have one bite. Lol must go again. The server was pleasent and is a great place to meet with friends in a casual feel. The bathrooms are clean.#smashburgers #nachos #oregon #Beaverton
google avatar

Jessi G.

Yelp
Great selection of beer. The staff are very nice and knowledgeable. I love how they have alcohol from all around the world. I do wish mead would pick up popularity so they'd carry a larger selection, but that's a society issue not a them issue
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Love this place ordered a triple deluxe burger with bacon. Split it with my wife and it was delicious. Very good food beer was good. Variety of beer to take home is incredible. Service was friendly and helpful. We will be frequent customers.
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
I love this place, but watch your receipts. I have had several with incorrect totals. e.g. incorrectly charging for certain beer quantities. It's a bit sus, as the kids say. It's never enough for me to go back and have them correct it. It is starting to add up though.
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
It's a pretty cool place that has a good selection for those who love beer. They have their kitchen on the other side that serves up some good food. I've been here a couple of times and have liked the food offerings. I've tried both their sandwich and burger special and will need to try their other items next time. The place has some outside patio seating as well as indoor seating.
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
Great service and giant selection of beers. Butlrger week was fun but smash burgers are not. I was still hungry after the Burger week burger, so I split a double burger with the missus. Their regular burger was way better than the specialty one. We'll be making this one of our regular spots.
google avatar

Zack D.

Yelp
The bartender was friendly. Best place to get beer in Beaverton by far! Great selection and lots of Great Notion (usually).
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
This is such a great place. It has a huge selection of wine, beer, and mocktails. When we told one of the staff members that was working the bar that it was our first time, he showed us around the store and explained how everything was laid out. Kori, who checked us out, was equally nice and helpful. In addition to the retail space they have a large dining area that serves beer, sandwiches. We were told this is the only location that offers wine by the glass. We will be back to check out the food.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
I love that they have some of my favourite, hard to find ciders, as well as a great selection of non-alcoholic options including the newest Liquid Death flavours. The selection of British beers and ciders made this expat happy, and my dad got all nostalgic over some names he hadn't seen since the 80s.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
Delicious double burger - perfectly cooked, fresh, delicious toppings, really good! Would eat again. Had the Yuzu Numa Biru Rice Lager and it was delightful. Not a huge beer drinker and it was very refreshing. Great service, friendly staff, clean restaurant and a really cool liquor store attached. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
Our new hang out! This place is dog friendly with an outdoor patio (they even had a self serve dog water bowl station). The staff is super friendly and gave us their personal recommendations on what to order & their favorite drinks. The marketplace side has a diverse and unique selection of beer, wine, ciders, sake & even Mead (the largest selection of mead I have found in the area. They had a lot of beer and ciders not available at our local liquor stores. After shopping we had some of the best smash burgers around with a good selection on tap! The prices were very very budget friendly for a large amount of food. We will definitely be coming back again soon.
google avatar

R T.

Yelp
First off this is a place to loose your way with the amazing selection of adult beverages. The choices are staggeringly impressive, a world tour in bottle form. We sat down for a quick bite, giving the Rueben and a smash burger a taste. Ruben's stuffing slipped from between the marbled rye and required using the plastic fork to scoop up the filling, tasty but truly difficult to eat as a sandwich. Burger was smashed with crispy edges piled high with pickles, onion, tomato, lettuce and cheese, the sandwich itself was somehow flavorless and the additional condiments available were in fast food packets. All in all I'd go back for the bottles and maybe pass on the sandwich offerings. Clean well light space filled with so many choices of beverages, plan to spend some time trying to make a choice.
google avatar

Andy V.

Yelp
I was very surprised when I walked into the building! I didn't expect to see a while area just for different beverages and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was pretty good with the bun very airy while being crispy and the chips being a great compliment. I would come back here again but definitely looking to drink more!

Yelp
John's Marketplace is my addiction. I passed up living in an apartment that was within walking distance of John's and my heart regrets that decision with every fiber of my being (my wallet, however, does not regret it). As far as bottle shops go, John's is the best simply in terms of selection and quantity. They seem to regularly restock with new brews every time I go as well, so as someone who loves to try out new beers, this place is a haven of discovery. However, you can't just go to John's Marketplace without sitting down at the bar and getting yourself a sandwich and a pour. I highly recommend their classic smash burger, which for a smash burger is loaded with a bunch of toppings and fairly large in size. Unless you're extremely hungry and have a large stomach, you can probably get by with a single patty as the doubles are huge! Simply put, their burgers capture that classic home-style cooked burgers that seems harder and harder to find nowadays. Whether you go for their bottles, kegs, or deli, John's Marketplace is a must for beer lovers.
google avatar

Amanda F.

Yelp
An awesome marketplace with a decent deli attached. The marketplace has SO many options for beer and wine, both local and international selections. Super helpful staff and also had tastings of beer and wine available. They also sell kegs. The food at the deli was just overall okay. You order at the bar and they call out your name when your food is ready. I got the deli special peanut butter smash burger, too much bun for a smash burger, which just made the burger too dry overall. The flavor was fine. You can add chips or mac salad as your side. The food did come out very quickly tho. Lots of great choices for beer on tap and you can purchase and consume anything from the marketplace. The patio area is super nice also, although they could use a bit more seating, and I also wouldn't mind another tv or two. Ambiance is top notch, a nice casual place to grab a burger and a beer.
google avatar

Julian A.

Yelp
FYI: This review is for the deli portion of the establishment. We've been here a few times already, mainly because my wife LOVES their turkey sandwich (called "Killer Turkey" on the menu). On 3 different visits, I've gotten the Single Deluxe cheeseburger, The Virgil, and The Swanky Swine. All 3 were pretty good but if I had to choose one to recommend, I'd recommend The Virgil, which is essentially a B.L.T. This place doesn't serve Coca-Cola products, which is a bummer, but found that Dr. Brown Root Beer is a nice pairing for the burger/sandwiches that I got. My only piece of feedback is the fries (or lack thereof). Instead of fries, they serve kettle potato chips. Those were good but, honestly, if burgers are featured on your menu, I highly recommend you also sell fries. :] Service is great (they're all so friendly) and you have the option to sit inside or outside.
google avatar

Logan E.

Yelp
Best bier selection. You can always find the PNW's best as well as harder to find German stuff.
google avatar

Rose D.

Yelp
Excellent bottle shop with a taproom, food options, and a patio. The bottle shop has an extensive selection of beer, hard cider, mead & wines from WA, OR, CA, the Great Divide states, along with some others and international imports. Some of the selections can be pricey, but it's nice to have a wider selection than what you see at the grocery store and you can mix & match individual cans to make your own mix-pack to try a variety instead of having to commit to a 4 or 6-pack of all the same thing. On the taproom side for food they serve smash burgers & deli sandwiches. We didn't eat there, but met some friends to enjoy a couple beers on their patio and then spent probably an hour looking at all the options in the bottle shop, purchasing several cans of different beers & ciders to take home. They have two other locations around Portland, if this location isn't close to you.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Decent burgers, could use some seasoning mine mostly tasted like ketchup even though it was a bacon burger. I think people probably go there for the huge selection of beer on tap. I'd probably come back to try the sandwiches if I went again. The patio looked like a great place to bring you doggo and relax and the inside was clean and tidy. The electronic menu on your phone and ordering up at the counter I will never get used to (lots of places do this now) but it works and probably better for them when they are busy.
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
What a fun place to meet friends for a beer and good food! It is self-serve cart pod, and you order your food from carts and beer from Johns Marketplace window, and it's just plain fun. Lots of people mingling and eating. and only problem is finding parking in the lot on busy days. Just goes to show this is a popular place!
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
The absolute best spot for craft beer in Beaverton!! Rotating and curated tap and to go beers. Everyone is always welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. Love this spot.
google avatar

Tod G.

Yelp
So pumped John's Marketplace has finally opened on the west side. More breweries & taprooms are coming over west after having "problems" back east. Great patio area but need to downsize the current living edge picnic tables and add more small tables. 2-3 people can take up a picnic bench that fits 8 comfortably. The smashburger was delicious as usual but it is odd that they don't offer fries or tots. Macaroni Salad was uniquely flavored with who knows what and neither of us liked it. Lastly, parents of toddlers , this is NOT a daycare or playground. It's a taproom, keep that in mind.

Yelp
I had no idea this place existed and let alone it was super close to where I live. The place is a spot for beer/wine/ipa and much to unite..and also has a spot to eat that's freaking cute. I loved walking into the store part and seeing a wide range of drinks, also felt so well organized.. almost like I was walking into a library of beer lol. The bar/eatery part was charming and new, and loved how it was decorated. Our server Zack was cool and knew exactly the cider I would enjoy.. and I'm a sandwich person and I'd definitely order the turkey sandwich (I added avocado) again for sure! Cori was amazing, she worried the store part and had helped my friend with all the beer/ipa options his heart desired. Overall I'd be interested in coming back, and it's a cute spot for catching up with friends or a casual date. Loved it!

Mike M.

Yelp
Best selection of beer bottled beer in Portland area this is my first time at this new location. I picked up some holiday ales for the a thanksgiving get to gather. The person Working has great knowledge and enthusiasm for the industry. They had a nice small section with all the choices mostly local type ales. You will get what you came for and more.

Darnell B.

Yelp
The smash burgers are steak sauce!! You can shop for brews with the bros after. It's honestly a vibe inside and out. These homies make their own ketchup too. 5 star smash burg!
google avatar

Don W.

Yelp
A great place for a smash burger and trying a huge variety of beer. Service is always great and patio is the place on a warm day. No frills as it should be.

Mary S.

Yelp
I went to John's Marketplace to get some recommendations for hard ciders. Their staff is amazing. They know their products and recommended wonderful ciders for us. The selection is phenomenal and it is so nice to be able to ask for staff recommendations.

Yelp
Incredible beer selection. Great keg list. Nice smash burgers too. Friendly service and atmosphere

Yelp
Great selection of local and semi local beer and wine. We've been looking for Pliny the Elder and found it here. CBD drinks and NA offerings. The person working the checkout was friendly and helpful. Had a taste of a delicious beer upon entering which was awesome. The bar/food area looked fun and nice patio. We look forward to coming in a lot and having a chill afternoon bite and brew. They also have tons of events and things going on as shown on all the flyers behind the checkout. Happy to have this in the neighborhood.
