This place needs to be advertised a little more. The Crisp on the fish and shrimp is phenomenal. The fries are fresh. 5 out of 5 for me.

Last time I was here was 8 years ago. Still the best food and great service. Freshly cooked and great taste. Will be coming back soon.

First time coming here, I came in blind , as far as not looking at reviews and stuff. At first it seemed sketchy but then I realized I was in pleasant grove. So I order the 2 fish fillets and six shrimp with fries and a sprite. For about 20 bucks. The whole alley of going around to the other side of the store to the next window to get your food is kinda weird and didn't give me a good vibe at all. Really gives it the meaning of "Hood store". I was asked to wait until my food came brought to me and I waited about 10-15 min. Now, the food was hot and fresh. The catfish fillets were longer and wider then my hands and thick of flesh. Golden crispy in a cornmeal breading, and crispy, golden, hot fries with hot sauce. I took a bite of one of the 6 shrimp and had to question myself what I was really eating.. as I investigated I realized the shrimp were covered in a thick batter, much more then the meat of the shrimp. So more batter less shrimp. . The shrimp themselves were butterflied and devain but the breading could have been less. The service was great. Very nice and friendly staff! I'll return to try new items soon.

I got 8 fish and 16 shrimp with mozzarella sticks. Everything was good. The fish was big very big pieces but a couple of the fish I got was way too thin. I dont like to just taste batter. The shrimp was big but didn't taste like shrimp🤷🏾‍♀️. I would taste test the shrimp before ordering a big amount. I ate the shrimp after the fish so maybe it wasn't hot enough. Sweet tea has lemon and it was awesome. I'll be going back for sure just for the sweet tea. Everyone was nice greeted me and kids when we first walked in. My kids enjoyed the gum ball machine.

A staple my whole life it feels like. Kind genuine staff. Amazing food and amazing service.

John's Seafood has a big menu with a ton of options. I was attracted by the catfish reviews but feeling oysters. The fried rice offering was a surprise. I had six oysters and the shrimp fried rice. Oysters, nice size, fresh, fried rice was decent. Next time I will try the catfish.

Stopped by here yesterday because of someone telling me to try the catfish, hands down some of the best fresh cooked catfish I've ever had. The girl was very nice and friendly as I told her it was my 1st time trying it the fish and fries were very good I will definitely be a regular customer and be sure to recommend it.

This is the most dependable and most consistent takeout restaurant in all of Pleasant Grove (Lake June Road /just off Buckner Blvd.) They are very friendly, professional , they effectively communicate when taking orders face to face in the drive thru. Finally the food especially their catfish & chicken tenders are fantastic! Best sides is their fried okra or Sweat potato fries. They use very high quality food service packaging, served freshly made & mega hot, Love this place.

I ordered the combination plate with the shrimp, fudge and oysters didn't like any of it. The fish was not catfish the shrimp were terrible not seasoned and the oysters need to be just taken off of the menu. Service was good they are friendly. The restaurant is older but it was clean inside so it was ok.

I love this local place. Variety of options to choose from the menu. Ordered some fillet catfish, shrimp and oysters. They are very crispy and flavorful. Fast and friendly food service. Feels very cozy and inviting.

I have always ate at this place since I was a kid with my father on the weekends, now I have the pleasure of enjoying the great food with my wife and our family, owners were always present and at the front. Food service is great and fast and honestly always served with a smile highly recommended ambiance was great.

It was ok. I think it's Swai and not catfish. Fries could use some seasoning. Good Customer Service.

Based on reviews and photos of food I just had to try John's Seafood. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I ordered the lunch #4. When I received my order, it looked amazing just like the photos that I'd seen. I took a bite into the fish and it was thin-thin...like paper, dry, overcooked, and not only that...IT WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT CATFISH. The shrimp were the same...just dry and thin...not even sure that it was shrimp. The Fanta drink was flat. Needless to say, I won't be back.

I tried fried catfish yesterday with my family and it was good. I would like to visit here again!! This restaurant will be one of my favorites! I love it!

I have visited this restaurants for more than 10 years now. Always crispy, warm and so tasty food. The people here are always kind. My all time favorite restaurants, definitely!

Best fried catfish I've ever had. $6.99 gets you two large filets (both sides!) with light piping hot crust of grits-like breading,and fries. I got the order of 6 fried oysters, with same type breading. About 3 oysters were of the expected size,the other 3 were huge! Food was definitely freshly cooked and tasted great. Good cocktail and tartar sauce. I've had seafood just about everywhere and every style. When in the mood for a no frills down home catfish or oyster meal, I know where to go. I purchased the meal to go, but I threw it down the hatch before I got to my front door! The also have an extensive fast food chinese menu, but I didn't get into that.

Visited their location on Bonnieview @ Loop 12. First visit and there will be more. Perfectly fried catfish fillets. Great pricing. Quick and friendly service.

My very first time trying this fish was when I was 10 the first time was amazing I was completely hooked, I'm 25 I still go back for that taste that I remember when I was young. it's still amazing always a happy customer.

fish nuggets was not good neither the chicken nuggets. Taste like it was fried in old grease.

Shrimp??? Prove it! It was all breading. French fries... No seasoning. Fish, hot but did y'all finish cooking it. I brought it to the lady attention. She did NOTHING!!!! The Dr. Pepper I had was everything!!!

I always come here to get the catfish fillets and wings .. And they never disappoint. Been coming here for about 10 years now and the food is still as good as the first time I came . Nice little local spot to have in the neighborhood

I have been coming here for a few years now. Their food is so great and so delicious, All the time!!! The price is very affordable and the portion is so huge. The people are super nice, always smiling and so kind. When you pick up your food, it is still crispy and fresh even one hour later. I like their fried fish and chicken tender. Their fried rice is also good. Try it. You won't regret it. Also thank you so much for the great food!!

Our family was traveling down to TX and saw the sign of Sea Food. Didn't expect that much. But it was one of the best sea food that I've tried. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is passing by that area. It will make your day!!!
