How do I take my one star rating back!! I wouldn't even post a photo of the bathrooms and along the edge of the water is a paper like deposit I've seen around leaking septic tanks it would be really nice if they cleaned it up has a nice park but we didn't stay it just didn't feel sanitary

Pretty great lakeside park. Lots of parking, plenty of picnic tables, grills, volleyball court, fishing dock, and swimming areas. Public handicap accessible restrooms and pavilions for reservation available also. Bathrooms could use work and the handicap stall in the womens rest room had the door ripped off completely and did not have a door or privacy. Great place to watch the sunrise, picnic, bring kids, family etc. Camping up to 48 hours, no alcohol signs everywhere by city ordinance.

The beach was extremely disappointing, not maintained, horrible algae over growth and garbage everywhere. Maybe it’s a bad time of year, but I would never return and never recommend.

I love this park. Abilene did a good job improving and adding play ground and new pavilions. I am very relaxing whenever I am at this park.

My family and I have been coming to Johnson Park for over 20 year's. It's always a fun affordable place for family to get together and have some fun!

Safe family friendly park close to the city of Abilene and great family fun. Security is helpful and there is not a bunch of drinking here. Very pretty and best area in the area to visit.

Nothing like staying cool in the lake on a hot summer day

We love this lake and come every other weekend when my husband is off work . My reason for giving them 3 stars is because there restrooms and playground. They’re absolutely horrible there crawling with lots of spiders . My children can’t even play on the playground because it’s covered in spiderwebs everywhere. There’s lots of dangerous spiders like black widows and brown recluse . I understand we are outdoors but it wouldn’t hurt for them to treat and spray these areas to make them more safe and suitable for families . Other than those 2 issues the lake is well taken care of and clean . I recommend bringing your own sort of portable toilet and bikes for your children.

Beautiful lake in the out skirts of Abilene Texas. You are able to boat, fish, camp, picnic and walk around the park and lake. We came to visit last month and there was only one other car parked inside.

Nice place to take the kids to play in the lake. Several picnic tables some covered and volley ball court. Walking track with a lot paved and a disc golf course.

What a great park! The lake is just beautiful! I'm looking into buying a pontoon and finding a marina on the lake. The public area is very well manicured. It has a play set for children and nice covered pavilions for gatherings. The one we were at has a triple charcoal grill. Top Notch! I would recommend this as a family outing, reunion or just a great time! It's not crowded at all on this Thursday afternoon. We have the whole place to ourselves! This would also be a cool charity event. There is lots of bottles and various other trash at the waters edge that could be picked up in an afternoon with a few dedicated folks. That didn't detract from the scenic beauty and tranquility of the location. Highly Recommended!
