JOi Café

I’ve been here a few times and love the plethora of organic and plant-based options. The interior is clean, bright, and modern and the place always seems lively even in the middle of the week. That being said my last experience here was not satisfactory. I stopped in to pickup two smoothies at around 2pm and the cashier who originally took my order was pleasant and seemed grateful that I had tipped, telling me to let her know if I needed anything at all. I waited for ten minutes before asking another employee now at the register (who saw me and continued talking to a coworker first before finally addressing me) if there was an update on my order because ten minutes seems a little long for two identical smoothies. She said she would check the kitchen and came back to tell me they were still working on it. I waited another 6 minutes before the smoothies finally came out. Therefore, almost $40 ($16 per smoothie + tip) and 20 minutes later, I finally walked out of there wishing I had just gone to Jamba Juice instead. Safe to say I won’t be coming here again as it is grossly overpriced, the service is slow, and not all of the staff seem to provide good customer service. Not to mention, the “matchacita” smoothie tasted nothing like matcha. Sorry, I really wanted to like this place.

This plant-based café is an absolutely marvelous place to get yourself a vegan meal. It’s often hard for vegans to find robust breakfast options, but they’ve got you covered here. From pancakes, to French toast, to huevos rancheros. I was very happy to see the large spread and selection. I had the vegan egg scramble and they did not skimp on the portion size. There’s also a wonderful selection of coffees and juices, as well as pastries. The staff was very kind and helpful and there’s plenty of seating available. You really can’t go wrong if you’re looking for a vegan breakfast and stop by JOi Café!

Best vegan food in the valley, all the staff are extremely welcoming, and the place is clean and beautiful. We had the bagel sandwich with beyond, and the scramble which were both amazing. The whoopie pie was recommended, with good reason- top tier dessert. Also grabbed a "Space Bar" candy, and it was very very sweet so keep that in mind when you get one. I actually wanted really sweet so it was perfect for me. Also coffee- can't forget this. Stopped by a lot of coffee shops and this place actually knows how to pull good shots and steam milk. Very consistent and smooth lattes. 10/10.

The best coffee i ever had in my life through out the globe. The cafe is so calm and quiet . Food is healthy as well as tasty. Must go place even if you have to made efforts to drive a long way. Bliss for all the coffee lovers

My first thought was love at first sight, first smell, and first bite! I got takeout and its my first time trying this place, and someone would've had to hold me back if I was dining in because I was imPRESSED!! The spices, big flavor, texture, everything was just on point. I got the Joi scramble and side of black bean sausage, literally chefs kiss. I eat meat occasionally but the black bean sausage was just soooo good. The tortilla had hints of floral/herb flavor which tells me it must be made from scratch with Hella love. I just wanted a bite in the car and ended up eating it the entire ride home in my lap 😅 Had to write this review as soon as my car stopped -- I honestly just picked up less than an hour ago. This place is a great gem to stumble upon, WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!

The food was fresh, delicately flavorful (the flavors worked so well together) and beautifully presented. The service was next level fast, friendly and welcoming. It was during a busy lunch time, yet the tables still allowed for comfort and it wasn’t loud.

Fully vegan Cafe with many healthy and gluten free options. They offer delicious drinks and pastries, as well as savory breakfast and lunch options. We enjoyed the pancakes and the breakfast burrito, and some lattes. Really flavorful and filling. Would totally reccomend!!!

Joi is so so good! Fresh, healthy, vegan. I like balance in my diet, Joi Cafe counters all the other crap I eat through out the week! I highly recommend a lunch there, grab a smoothie and enjoy the atmosphere!

JOI Cafe is delightful! Seven year-old Olivia and I would be there every week if it were closer to Santa Monica We love the variety and organic, healthy options...and also the sweets like the peanut butter chocolate JOI ball ;) Service is consistently lovely. On the Fourth of July, we drove up to buy a blueberry pie only to find out they were all sold out. We left disappointed but by the time we got back to the car, JOI had added a point to our account, just because As for the ambiance, it's such a clean, JOIful place with indoor and outdoor seating, puzzles to buy, and inspiring messages everywhere

Food/drinks are good (yummy) and clean, no seed oils, mostly organic, great options for every palate & NO meat! Not sure the vegan options are healthy but they are conscious & delicious!!!! Wish more places were conscious like Joi in the "clean food" way. Lastly, & sadly, they don't take cash.

The matcha was the best I ever had at a shop or cafe. It's ceremonial too. The menu looks great can't wait to try everything. Including food. Cute gift shop area too ! Nice ambience to study or do lap top work Quick reviews just for you

I love everyone here and they have the best juices and chia pudding and avocado toast!! Everything is gluten free and glorious. The fun tuna is so weird but and I'm glad I only got a sample. My avocado toast took forever

1. Not friendly when ordering. Bad vibes. 2. The "small" size hot coffee is laughable. I thought it was a joke. Looks like it's meant for a toddler. There's no way it's 9oz like the sleeve says and it leaked and dripped on me with every sip. 3. Pumpkin spice latte tastes like dirt, no pumpkin flavor to be found. 4. Way too expensive overall.

Service has much improved since my last visit. I also ordered the fajita chicken salad three days in a row. Got one extra large ranch on the side and a habanero salsa. It's enough for two but it's my only meal of the day. The Thai me up salad is great too. It's busy at breakfast times. Picking up orders is still a bit of a wait if there's a line. Nice little cafe, nice employees. Good for cyclists, hikers, and locals alike. Outdoor seating is nice, shade or sun. Farmers market in the parking lot on Sundays makes Joi Cafe even more fun. (They often source bread from the five frogs stand, hope that wasn't a company secret lol. The same stand has a yummy vegan chocolate croissant and cinnamon roll if you're early enough but I don't think they sell them at Joi. Joi has a decent chocolate chip cookie, some additional rotating pastries as well.)

Worth the drive from Studio City! Had the Bagel Sandwich always flavorful with a wonderful aioli sauce, and a side salad (you can also have fruit). And the Minty Matcha which I highly recommend. The staff is professional and helpful even when they are very busy. Very efficient and welcoming and the overall atmosphere is calming even when packed. You can't go wrong as the owner has truly taken the time to ensure each item on the menu is a wonderful blend of flavors.

I rarely come here. When I do I'm reminded why. Why does your staff not smile, you have a cashier that looks miserable. No hello, no smile...really the staff you have representing and making first impressions need some customer service training. Gonna figure out how to make the blue collagen smoothie so I don't have to ever return.

Whoever designed their interior knew what they were doing creating an inviting "sit and stay for a bit " type of vibe . All the merch and goodies on display kept my adhd self busy enough to not mind waiting on my order. We ordered: Decaf Ginger Lemongrass hot tea tasted better than I expected tbh . It's light and smooth with a very subtle floral aroma . Makes me feel all cozy inside. Drip coffee with 2 sticks of stevia was ok. Very light in flavor. Breakfast Burrito came out hot, nicely wrapped and readily cut in half. Also came with a side of green salsa that was light and not too spicy imo. So glad I ordered this! Was a bit hesitant after seeing mixed reviews about it being dry. Mine was made to perfection from texture of all the fillings & tortilla wrap to the compilation of flavors combined. Ham and Cheese Croissant was toasted for us . It's not bad for a small bite that's slightly filling. Tasted good like a ham and cheese should. Good flakiness not toooo messy.

Love the vibe. Really cute with the decor and vibe. Feels welcoming and fun with the colors and books, candles etc. Ordered a matcha and a breakfast burrito. Wish matcha was warmer but it was good. Breakfast burrito was okay. Just wasn't a huge fan since it was all vegetarian. Would like to try the pancakes next time. Huge plus is that there is a changing table in your bathroom for parents with kiddos!

Wow. Someone did it right here. Outstanding. Order at counter and there is ordering and grab n go. "Tuna" "Chix" perfect.

I am not vegan at all, but I love Joi! I've gone here now a handful of times and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is or is not vegan. They have gluten free options for those who need gf, which has been helpful for many of my friends. They have a variety of options from breakfast to lunch items, which are all yummy! I like their smoothies and protein balls as well!

Great spot for some coffee and grub (pastries, toasts, cookies, muffins, tacos, burger, burritos, salad/harvest bowls, soup). Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking in the private lot. They have a lot of seating both inside and outside. The cafe has a nice, cozy, and warm vibe to it. Overall, it's clean and service is prompt. 1. G.V.O (5/5) Seriously the best coffee creation! A combination of cinnamon, rich chocolate, Orange Zest & CBD with almond or oat milk. I prefer it with oat milk for extra creaminess and depth. The espresso is also strong and comes through + compliments the chocolate. I love that it's rich, but yet, not too sweet. The Joi Chai latte is another one of my favorite drinks! 2. Tacos (3.5/5) 1 order comes with 2 tacos. I got chicken and jackfruit 'Fish' with Fajita-Style bell peppers, onions, fresh tropical salsa, crisp cabbage, guacamole, and drizzled with sriracha aioli on warm organic corn tortillas. Comes also in chorizo for those who like/prefer pork. All of the ingredients were fresh. Wish they were not as skimpy on the proteins (chicken and fish). The corn tortilla was overpowering most of the flavor. 3. Pumpkin Spice Croissant French Toast (4/5) A fall special. Cinnamon & Pumpkin Spice Croissant French Toast. Made from vegan croissant coated in a 'egg' dip & grilled to perfection. Topped with a medley of seasonal organic berries and a dollop of creamy coconut whipped cream, which was not sweet, but delightfully light, airy, and cloud-like. Overall, I really enjoy Joibirds cafe. Sad to see the Thousand Oaks location close.

I decided to give this spot a shot after my morning work out. I ordered the Superfood pancakes, lentil sausage and the cloudsurfer cold coffee drink. EVERYTHING was great. The pancakes which were brown rice, flax seeds, chia and hemp topped with strawberry,blue berries and bananas were very light which is not typical for most places that offer them. The lentil sausage was a pleasant surprise , it was well seasoned and complimented the other items, especially if you are craving a protein like substance.

The good: great food and pancakes, BUT,man, they need to get a new barista in there ASAP!!!! if you know one, please let Joi know!!! so many of us have had to have remakes done with our coffee (hate to cause the waste) or it comes kind of sloppy where the saucer is spilled with coffee overflow..... I'll still hang in there with them but keeping my fingers crossed that all staff is in their right place.

I was visiting the farmers market in the square one sunday morning and craving a morning beverage- i am basic and love a weekend matcha from a cafe. Stopped by Joi cafe as it was recommended by a friend- cute cafe with some light bites and bakery items on offer and a menu filled with interesting drinks for coffee and non-caffeinated, juices etc. Seems pretty health conscious too which i love- offering gluten free options and non-dairy for the drinks. The lady at the register taking my order was so pleasant and friendly, I had a few questions on the different drinks they had and what was in them and she happily talked me through the ingredients and flavors in each drink. I went for the blue butterfly (thought I'd switch it up from my usual matcha- although their matcha menu is pretty elite with different flavor matcha drinks) which was a perfect choice- this drink was so delicious; perfectly sweet and creamy and steamy hot, i wish every cafe had this drink on offer so i could get it more often! Their to-go cups are the cutest also- love the design with the hummingbird on it- a little work of art cup. The food choices they had looked great also- nice colorful bright interior in this organically conscious cafe, seems pretty popular and has a good buzz about it.

The coffees and the desserts are great! Food is 50-50 especially if you eat there. Sometimes it comes out right away but often times it comes out later and it's not hot. If you get it to go, you might have a better chance of getting it right away. And some of the dishes are put together just OK and I'm someone who loves vegan food. It seems to have had more attn to the food in the past and lately it's just eh! Still good smoothies and coffees.

We love Joi Cafe. We are vegans and drive here every weekend from North Hollywood for years. It has one of the coolest atmospheres and some of the best coffee we've had in Los Angeles. They always have unique vegan food available. All the staff is incredible and very kind and friendly. Joi should be proud she has created such a wonderful place that brings everybody so much joy.

Joi cafe is so cute, the interior is decorated well and they have lots of vegan products displayed around the front of the store. Service was quick and easy. I ordered an iced mocha latte. It tasted great! It did have a gritty texture, though. I'm not sure if it's because of an ingredient in the coffee, but just a heads up. Otherwise it would have been a 10/10 for me!

Joi Cafe is the absolute best. One of my all time fav spots. Lovely ambiance outside and inside. Friendly, warm, welcoming staff. Delicious organic, plant based, vegan, and gluten free meals and desserts locally owned and run. Especially love the kimchi grilled cheese, gluten free, warm, and toasted with watermelon, melon, and strawberry fruit. Matcha and almond milk lattes are the best made with organic whole coffee beans. We love getting our bulk coffee beans here and adore the vegan and gluten free desserts: cookies, donuts, chocolates, and more. Awesome gender neutral restrooms and refill water stations. All around amazing. Thank you for this slice of paradise!

Joi Finding good quality coffee places that have consistently great tasting coffee, excellent service and the right atmosphere is really challenging in the Conejo Valley / Westlake area. Joi fits the bill; my Oatmilk Lattes are always superb as are my Cortado's- rich coffee taste with a creamy flavorful froth .. coffee is also organic. The cafe is always clean as is the outside patio area, (plenty of shade ) and the 'two all gender' restrooms have always been spotless. *If you are planning on a Sunday morning visit be mindful that it will be extremely busy and parking will be tricky as there is a Farmers Market held in the parking lot most Sundays.

Burnt empanada and plastic to-go sauce cup and lid. All of this is highly carcinogenic. Why are they choosing to NOT be environmentally friendly? As for the burnt empanada, are you kidding me? BURNT FOOD IS TOXIC!!!

Love!! From the food and ambience to the staff. I've been going here for years and probably tried everything, all has been fab. I especially love their coffee and even purchase beans to brew at home. Really hope Joi continues to thrive as I always want to support plant-based businesses.

I don't always eat vegan, but if I do Joi cafe always has something delicious. I really love their breakfast burrito and cinnamon rolls. I do wish the cinnamon rolls were bigger because they are so tasty! They also have juices and smoothies if that is your jam. The vegan Mac n cheese is also delicious.

Joi Cafe is amazing! Fresh delicious coffee and food (the Chili and Cornbread is AMAZING)! I'm not even a vegan and I looovvvveeee coming here! Joi, the owner, is the sweetest. Come here and support local. You won't regret it!

Absolutely delicious, met the owners and they where delightful to interact with. The employees are helpful and well put together. I had a cortado that was to die for and the French toast was perfect.

Great food. Was just looking for something vegetarian friendly. Didn't know this was full BFF Friendly! Taco Taco / you can choose from different meats. I had the chicken and Soyrizo. Loved it and highly recommended. Flavors popped off the plate. Fun Tuna Sandwich / really good as well. But the star of the show was the bread. What!!! I could eat a loaf of that. The tuna was nice tasting - I just remember a place on Maui (Down to Earth) had a chunky mock tuna salad that I preferred - added more texture. But this was good too. Let's just say, there was no leftovers. Haha Broccoli cheese soup - yup! Would order this again and again. Hard to believe this is cream free. Fun place. Lively. Great food.

JOI Cafe is AMAAAAZING!!! I got the Golden Buddha latte along with Sausage & Hash. It's was incredible. Great vibe and pleasant staff. I'll definitely be coming back. Maybe tomorrow!!! omarr

If you have not yet visited Joi Cafe, you are missing the finest casual eatery in the greater LA area. Even if you are not vegan, you will want to return for the amazing food and the best coffee available anywhere. Joi is the amazing owner and she personally ensures everyone has an exceptional dining experience. Go to Joi Cafe and Coffee Bar and you will thank me later.

If I could put zero stars I would. We had a horrible experience today at Joi Cafe Westlake. I ordered online with the QR code at the table and while two of our drinks were ready within 10 minutes, our other two drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. We were made late for an appointment due to this. We had to remind the baristas twice about our order, which made me believe they forgot about our order. The employees were rude and told us to "be more patient". We couldn't wait that long for drinks especially with our kids being thirsty on an extremely hot day. Unfortunately, when I asked the manager Andrea for a refund for only the two late drinks (which I thought reasonable), she made every single excuse to not refund me. She said the computer system was down all of the sudden. Then after much resistance she offered a gift card, which doesn't help because we won't be coming back to Joi Cafe after this experience. The worst experience here was that Andrea the manager put "crazy" on my gift card receipt, which says a lot about her character. Obviously she wanted to say that comment to my face, but couldn't in public at the cafe. Too bad the service is horrible and the employees are down right mean. Your feelings will be hurt here. Photo for proof. Never going back there. Save your peace and don't go. They don't care about the customers. I'm a Reiki energy worker and the energy here is horrible.

Joi is hands down my favorite restaurant. Yes, it's gluten-free and vegan--but all you'll talk about after eating there is how good the food is. My only complaint? I wish they were open later for dinner!

Joi is always delicious! I'm a little sad the menu isn't 100% gluten free anymore, but everything is clearly labeled and there are still more than enough yummy options. Although my favorite is the everything bagel sandwich (breakfast bagel? I always forget the name of it lol) and I usually end up ordering that whenever I go. I don't live in the area anymore and I try to visit whenever I'm in town. Highly recommend subbing the side for a kale Caesar salad. It's so good my 10-year-old would ask for just the salad. And he is not a veggie lover at all!

The pancakes, waffles, bagel sandwich, bean patty hash (I'm just going off the top of my head) absolutely amazing!!!

Flavorful and fresh vegan food! I love the breakfast scramble and lavender matcha latte. The baked goods are also delicious. On the weekends this place gets absolutely packed around 10:30/11 AM so plan accordingly but they have fast service. My husband and brother who typically don't go for vegan food still enjoyed their meals and we have come back several times now. Parking is easy and the vibes are good. As someone who isn't vegan but can't have dairy or eggs, it's so convenient and refreshing to have a breakfast option that works for me! Definitely get a latte here.

Their menu LIES to you, it said classic burger but instead of meat they give you a bean patty. After asking the waiter to describe the burger, he goes on all details about everything except the fact that there is NO meat. The $5 americano was good.

Usually love their food but the staff has been getting SASSIER!!! Ordered the harvest bowl, it doesn't say that it has nuts on the menu, came out with nuts (which I'm allergic to) and politely asked for it to be sent back. Waitress gave me sass, asking why I didn't ask for no nuts. I said it doesn't say nuts on the menu, she proceeded to say the harvest bowl isn't even on the menu to which then I pointed at "Harvest Bowl". When they brought out the bowl with no nuts gave full sass with bombastic side eye... which is so unfortunate, especially when i come here to bring my mood up, but receive intense negative energy come here for good food but beware of the bad service

Everything seems very delicious here. I had a hard time deciding what to order for my brunch because everything looks so good! Everything that I ordered all tasted so good! The pancake is the just have, but burrito and açaí bowl are all delicious! I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area!

I would not recommend. Unless you have all day for mediocre food. I waited 20 minutes for a premade empanada to be warmed and a chimichurri that looks and taste like it's out of a jar and it's been sitting for a couple of weeks. The one good thing I will mention is at the Cafe look is very cute.

Love. That's what this place is, Love and Joy. Or should I say Joi? A coffee shop with a real breakfast and lunch menu, and don't even get me started on the smoothies. I got the Blue Lavender Collagen smoothie (I removed the collagen). It was stunning on the websites and came just so to me. One note is the sunflower butter is very rich and strong. I might sub it if that's not your thing. The rest of the flavored are balanced perfectly. I came during lunch so naturally it was fairly busy although my order came fast and I felt very taken care of. Plenty of comfortable outdoor and indoor seating. I will be back, hope to see you there.

I had a $5 coupon that expired today so I decided to use it. I had the Huevos Rancheros. OMG!! It was amazing. I can't believe that it had a vegan egg it tastes better than a regular egg. Cortado coffee was mid. I was irritated by the $1 charge for salsa. The spirulina lemonade was great. My son loved the donut on a previous visit. I had the bagel on this visit and ate it on a hike. It might of been better fresh. All in all glad I came by. They're doing a great job! I can't wait for the new location to open. It's a little closer to home.

This place is hands down my favorite, especially after a tough run/work out. I usually get a smoothie but food is great too. The staff are always friendly and quick, even during busy times, and the atmosphere is upbeat and inviting. It's the perfect post-workout stop to recharge and feel good about what you're putting into your body. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a refreshing and healthy treat!

Great vibes with an element of fun! The Classic JOi tastes like a steaming brownie in a mug and the toasts are delightful. I have yet to try one of the many mouth-watering pastries as I am overwhelmed by the choices. It's a good thing I am only working in this area temporarily or I would go broke!

Food was very bland. Worst $60 spent of my life. How do you mess up French toast?? I ordered what I thought was a coffee latte ended up with a matcha latte. Menu is confusing and cashier was not helpful in explaining.

Such a nice cafe to stop by any day for a nice relaxing breakfast or lunch. Once you're in line and order your food, it's all swift and delightful. You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, both are equally pleasant. I like sitting indoors on a hot day but definitely outdoors on a cool cloudy day because it's in a nice plaza and I just love the vibe! The menu offers a diverse range of healthy and flavorful vegan and gluten free options. Their smoothies are to die for and so are many of the dishes. However, I've heard that their premium organic coffee is incredible so I have yet to try. I love their colorful and healthy açaí bowl. The staff is attentive and friendly. I particularly enjoy the freshness of the ingredients. The presentation of the food is always visually appealing, enhancing the overall experience. While the prices are slightly higher than average, the value is justified by the high-quality ingredients and the attention to detail in both preparation and presentation. Overall, Joi Cafe is a fantastic choice for those seeking nourishing and refreshing beverages and meals.

Went for brunch Saturday at 10am and found inside seating easily. Wide variety of selection, great food (all vegan!), and amazing service. We got the hazelnut iced latte with oat milk (this was perfect for those that like sweet and creamy coffee) and the hot latte was less sweet and still tasty. For food the French toast came with lots of nuts and fruit - the vegan whipped cream it came with was delicious. We got a bagel sandwich -- bagel was nice and soft. Very fresh. And we got the poke salad (skipped the watermelon since it's marinated in onion and we don't eat onion garlic). It was very flavorful and it was nice to be able to eat the wasabi aioli dressing! Definitely recommend. We got the vegan triple chocolate cake after from the pastry fridge but didn't think it was worth the money. Everything else was perfect!

Ok so some the food was good I had the aloha avo toast, and my daughter got the pancakes with scrambled tofu on the side. The pancakes and toast were good but wow the portions were so small. Kind of ridiculous how small it was. We ordered 3 drinks, the toast, 2 orders of pancakes, brownie, a cake and 2 scones. And it came out to 100$. I'm sorry but Is this supposed to be a fancy breakfast? We were still hungry. The rainbow cake was terrible it tasted like wax. The tofu was so bad it was literally inedible. They literally put some tofu and a ton of turmeric on top that's all I could taste. Was so disappointed.

This is my favorite breakfast place, not sure what I'd do without it. It has gluten free and dairy free options and everything is delicious. Even my kids and husband love it and they are definitely not vegan or gluten free.

Best coffee in town. Food is craveable and is always consistently great!!! Everyone that works there is friendly. The service is quick too It's a hip place to meet up with friends.
