The layout of the studio I have is 5/5. The space was clearly desgined thoughtfully. I love the pocket doors. It's the best studio layout I've seen in Charlotte. It was way larger than some of the others in the area, and while it's certainly not the biggest studio in town, its more than enough space to be comfortable. I save so much money by living here because I don't need to have a car. I don't have to worry about making payments or insurance costs or gas prices because I can take the light rail, I get free ebike and escooters anytime I want, and the apartment has rental cars I can rent for like $5 an hour - which is an insanely good price since Ubers and Lyfts are like $20 for one way! I can't wait for them to get more of the envoy cars! The bike room is secure and comes in handy. The price was fair, and they allow longer leases so I was able to sign a longer one and get a better price. These days, rent everywhere is really high, but the Joinery was better than their neighbors and I hope that never changes! The staff are all friendly, attentive, and pleasant. They offer free compost and recycling service. It's not like nothing inconvenient ever happens here, its an apartment complex, so sometimes things go wrong. But I can tell the staff here wants to make it all go right again. When renewals come up, I am 100% resigning my lease for as long as they'll allow me to. Pet friendly, and the location right on the greenway makes exploring Charlotte more fun!

My daughter went to tour the Joinery and although we were greeted with kindness I don’t think it was expressed just how horrible the parking is. I asked a couple residents the pro and cons and everyone stated how much they have to fight for parking spots. Environmental friendly, I understand but you are charging people a fee to park where they live? How is that environmental friendly when it could just be free? We had to park all the way in the next apartment complex because we weren’t able to find a spot. That is so unsafe. As a mother, my daughter will NOT be moving here and I will make sure to recommend everyone to stay away from living at a place like this.

I’ve been casually looking for a new apartment in Charlotte for the better part of a year. My old place was fine, but over time the building management there became increasingly harder to reach while the neighborhood got worse and worse; more crime, more noise, less peace of mind. I wasn’t desperate to move, but I spent a LOT of time touring various communities around town just waiting for the right place to come along. The day I toured Joinery, I stopped looking. Sure, the building and amenities are great; everything is brand spankin' new and the unexpected perks like community EVs, scooters, & e-bikes, are a pleasant and welcome surprise. What REALLY hooked me here though, was the incredible staff. Never before have I experienced such a friendly and attentive team at an apartment community. From the moment I walked in, they’ve gone out of their way to make sure I have everything I need and then some. This level of genuine care and service is rare, and I'm happy & grateful to have found my new home :) If you're looking for a new place, I highly recommend you swing by and see for yourself!

absolutely love living here. location is amazing, the units feel new and clean, the huge windows and wooden ceilings create an amazing atmosphere to come home to every day. The staff is also friendly, neighbors great so far, and amenities are a great bonus

Do not move here. The bad reviews are REAL and HONEST. The parking is unbearable. The city continues to remove street parking options near the building. The rideshare cars are booked out a week+ in advance. Don’t let them convince you this is even worth while. The apartment smells like weed inside and out every single day. The Starlight bar provides live karaoke on an OUTDOOR stage, I can’t even hear my own TV over someone belting a song ANY time or day of the week. Im not kidding, they’re blasting music at 8am on a Wednesday. Our packages get stolen and mishandled, they have no idea where to deliver our packages. All of these concerns have been brought to management and for months they have done nothing. I would leave if I could.

My biggest regret in the 5 years that I’ve been in Charlotte has been moving to this apartment. I want to start off by saying that the 5 star reviews are fake. They’re the same reviews and photos that I’ve seen since I moved in —in November. This is probably due to the fact that all of the residents that you speedily threw into these buildings, absolutely hate it and were sold on false promises. Secondly, if you would like an abundance of parking tickets and/or your car being hit numerous times a week, this would be the perfect place to move. I would like to add that the staff here is AMAZING, so this has nothing to do with them, and everything to do with the improper planning from Greystar. My only complaint about this staff would be that myself and numerous others were told that a parking deck/garage would be completed for RESIDENTS by the first quarter of the year. This is what I was told during my tour in October 2024. It is now April, and the minuscule parking garage that HAS been built, is only for RETAIL PARKING ONLY. Now… I love walking more than the next person. I get a guaranteed 10k steps a day. However…. most of this step count is due to having to walk at least 1.5miles from the apartment just to find a decent parking spot. It’s either that, or you pay $18.45 per 12hrs in the paid lot that is conveniently located directly in front of your entrance doors. Lovely ain’t it? Common sense would’ve fixed these issues a long time ago. Especially before creating a third and possible FOURTH building.

The parking is a complete nightmare, more and more available street space is being blocked off and management only responds with telling us to “take advantage of the offered rideshare program” etc, as if that is a reliable option for most of the people here. If they put in half as much energy creating a solution for parking as they do unnecessary “events” and trying to make the gym aesthetically pleasing this would be a worthwhile place to live. I had better parking at my college campus in the middle of a big city.

Unfortunately, the Joinery is not I thought it'd be at first. First of all: 1) The parking is ridiculous and having to pay to park elsewhere or walk 15-20 minutes after getting off from work isn't ideal. It is TIRING. I do not want to come home, then struggle to find parking, and then even PAY. Furthermore, my car has been scraped and hit from other cars and now I must put in repairs to remedy this. So, if you are looking to move here, be prepared to spend more money on parking, repairs, and even additional fees on rent. The Joinery did say the parking garage is for RETAIL ONLY, so if you do park in there- be prepared to pay more for tow trucks to fine you. On top of that, if you park your car at the Future Resident Parking, you'll also face the same problem. The Joinery needs to address this situation by either creating a dedicated parking deck or lot for Residents Only. Otherwise, it will not be a good living situation with further construction and adding more units for future residents. 2) The noise from residents partying outside blaring music over the weekends/days in our Terrace at The Joinery East is draining. I should not have to tell other residents to lower their speaker volume down AT MY WINDOW. I understand we all pay rent and we should utilize all the space however, I am beyond frustrated that I cannot enjoy sleeping in and even sleep for work the next day. The Joinery needs to set expectations at this courtyard and post a cutoff date of when residents should not be too loud and disrupt other tenants time to rest. I understand there is a noise ordinance however it never works.. so it is in The Joinery's best interest to set this expectation for the noise control and how to keep the volume at a minimum past 7pm on the weekdays and weekend. 3) The Joinery East reeks of weed.. it is overwhelming and spreads throughout the apartment halls. The Joinery needs to act on this and clean the halls. It is embarrassing for me to bring guests over and they say "why does it smell so bad at this apartment and why is the weed smell strong?.." 3) Trash isn't collected when I leave it out my door in my trash can during Sunday-Thursday. I understand the crew may be busy with other tasks however this is a service I am paying through rent and if anything should be upheld. The Joinery needs to address these concerns and possibly find an efficient way to get trash done- and also inform residents the cutoff time for Sunday-Thursday. In addition, when it comes to disposing of my trash, the trash room at The Joinery East is locked and thus I have no clue where to throw trash so I go upstairs to dispose my trash down the chute. Overall, my experience living at The Joinery is underwhelming. I feel these negative experiences outweighs the positives which is only staff. However, some staff members are kind and courteous and do their best to provide a great experience. The Joinery team is doing their best albeit the experience living here isn't worth moving here. I feel as Greystar also needs to address this situation and see how poorly they are treating their tenants.
