São Paulo Nikkei Restaurants Highlight Japanese and Brazilian Cuisine | Eater

"A Tokyo-style ramen chain in São Paulo founded by a Japanese-Brazilian chef who is active in the national Japanese gastronomy association; it represents the broader integration of Nikkei identity into Brazilian culinary life. The restaurants helped introduce wider Brazilian audiences to authentic ramen and umami flavors while the founder advocates for recognition of Nikkei people as fully part of Brazilian society." - Rafael Tonon

We tried the Jojo kara miso ramen and the miso ramen here, the kara miso was definitely the star! The chashu meat is well flavoured and smoky, and the egg is perfectly lava inside. Worth a try if you’re in this area! The staff also speaks good English.

To be honest, had so many different Raman, and this JOJO Raman is the worst I have ever had in my entire life. I would rather choose instant noodles. 1: soup is way too salty. If the soup is sourced from the factory , more water needs to be added into the soup base please. 2: noodles quality. The noodle is simply the cheapest kind you can get from the supermarket. Plain and feels plastic ish. 3: the kitchen hygiene . saw the chef just used his barehand touching the chicken. I cannot stand. Sorry I can only give 1 star.

The food and service was great. We arrived on a Saturday night at 6 pm, barely any wait time and food came right out. Had ramen in California, both LA & San Francisco and I found the broth here to be a bit bald but nonetheless it was enjoyable. Only one vegetarian option, and not much non alcoholic Japanese drinks. I’ll go again but this was not the best ramen I had.

I have been to Japan many times, and I love ramen. So I know what it should taste like. The miso ramen was just okay. Misoya is definitely better. The broth is a little light. It was not bad though. And Karaague is not properly fried. The batter is mixed up with the meat, and it is just more like friend chicken than Japanese style Karaague. And they tried to charge the service fee! In Brazil at a ramen restaurant???? I definitely don't understand this. I don't think you offer enough service to charge service fee.

I ordered the spicy miso ramen and it was pretty good but kinda heavy towards the end. Miso ramen and shoyu ramen was nice. I'd go back to try other soup bases

Excellent service that is very friendly. The fried chicken was outstandingly good. The ramen (which we came for) was good as well. Very busy for dinner so make sure to come early!
