A very nice place, the service is polite and friendly. The girls make the ice cream right there on the spot, fresh every day. There are different flavors, and you can try them before buying. It’s a pity they don’t have options with sugar substitutes. And the portions are too small.

Yes it's creamy but not very flavorful. I had the coconut chocolate chip and it was more salty than sweet. In addition I tasted no coconut. My wife's chocolate was ok but my sister in laws peanut butter and chocolate had little flavor as well. Prices are a little high but that is ok given the location. But if you're going to charge that much you should deliver thequality.

Great ice cream - I picked lemon berry shortbread and my husband picked peanut butter cup. Just wish their waffle cone was slightly thicker.

🍦Been searching for organic ice cream. On my first visit, I decided to try the Sundae 🥳 with choco chip, strawberry and chocolate with an ice cream cone on the side. While there, I experienced on site waffle cone making 🤩 The cookies are warm and the chocate melts 🍪 Plenty of parking 🚙

I love that they have smaller flavor choices. They have quality over quantity. My husband chose fall flavors. He had the pumpkin cheesecake, banana foster and mud pie. I am a chocolate person. I had the chocolate peanut butter and Nibby chocolate. The ice cream is so creamy and decadent. You receive a cookie with your ice cream. The shop is so cute and there is a step stool so your little one can look at the flavors. If you are in the area or stopping for lunch, please stop by this cute shop, it's worth it.

Love this place. Their chocolate vegan ice cream is amazing. Other ice creams are great too. A lot of people go here because frequently there's a line. But not too long of wait. They also let you taste the flavors and you get a free cookie with every ice cream. In addition they use quality ingredients

Four of us each had two scoops so we tried 8 different flavors. We all thought the pomegranate pistachio was the best of our selections. Overall they were all good. The texture was different but it didn’t bother anyone in my group. The pricing was what I’d expect this close to the beach and the facility was clean and the staff pleasant.

Favorite ice cream place! My sister who lives in LA always makes us go here when she visits San Diego, even if we aren't in Encinitas. Their butter rum pecan is undefeated. I always get that when I don't like their seasonal flavors! The other favorites of mine that are seasonal are the ginger lemon honeycomb (sounds ominous but it is absolutely divine) and the cinnamon roll and the s'mores! I enjoy their chocolate but I dislike chocolate chips in ice cream unfortunately. Same predicament with the lemon berry shortbread—love the ice cream, don't love berry flavors. However its based on demand, and many enjoy the parts I dislike, so it makes sense those remain the primary. Their waffle cones are the best. I typically don't order cones but theirs are just too good to pass on. Also they give you a free cookie with every order of ice cream! The cookies are also fantastic. It's a very cute shop and quality ingredients and you can taste it in the products 100%. Highly recommend!

After grabbing dinner nearby, we decided to end the night with a light dessert at JoJo's Creamery. It's a small casual ice cream store specializing in gluten free and vegan ice cream options. They use coconut milk and oat milk for many of their flavors which is a great alternative to cow's milk. They let you sample flavors if you'd like. I opted to get the vegan chocolate chip which was tasty. The free mini cookie was a sweet addition to the ice cream. Free parking in the lot which was nice. Several tables outside on the patio. Price ranges from $6.75-9.75 for ice cream. They also offer to go pint sizes for $13.

On our last night in town, our party of nine decided to head out for ice cream... We chose JoJo's Creamery and were not disappointed with our choice, but it also wasn't a standout place we would return to either... The majority in our group ordered vanilla bean, my daughter had the mixed berry flavor, and I had the Ginger Lemon Honeycomb. I definitely enjoyed my flavor choice and we all enjoyed the cookies that come with your selection. I didn't see many topping options, but I may have missed that option. They don't offer coffee or other drinks if my memory serves, other than a little water station to the side. This no frills business makes tasty ice cream and cookies, and it's worth a visit if you're close by. Service was friendly enough, and there is outdoor seating.

We had a delightful experience at this ice cream spot! We ordered the Honey Lavender (the best!), Bananas Foster, and Carrot Cake (which surprisingly tasted like a snickerdoodle). As an unexpected treat, the staff gave us some cookies. Overall, it was a sweet and memorable visit, and we'll definitely be back for more Honey Lavender ice cream!

Appreciated the clean ingredients. I chose two flavors for my medium size container. Banana flavor and chocolate peanut butter brownie flavor. both were so good! Would definitely like a little more for the price, it was over $8. Came with a mini cookie that was very delish!

Really good vegan ice cream!! This is my new favorite for ice cream in San Diego! I'll be back to try their additional flavors but I liked that the vegan options didn't all use coconut milk for the base! My friends ordered the regular non vegan flavors and enough theirs as well!

A for amazing! The Mud Pie is a coffee ice cream with fudge and brownies mixed in. Mamma Mia! (Kisses fingers and thrusts hand to the sky) On top of that they gave us a fresh warm chocolate chip cookie to go along with it. Thank you to the ice cream angels at Jojo's!

We try to stop by here whenever we are in the SD area for vacation. I love their salted caramel, honey lavender, and my hubby and son love butter rum pecan, mint chocolate too. The service is great and I love the patio area where you can enjoy the ice cream outside. Highly recommend!

They have dairy free and gluten free options!! We ordered- Chocolate brownie/coconut/ chocolate chip all vegan and GF. It was the regular size that has 3 scoops. Butter pecan in a waffle cone that was GF. So so good!!!! The service was awesome the ice cream was so good and reasonably priced for being vegan and GF. My new go to ice cream shop. Give it a go you won't be disappointed!!!

The cayenne salted caramel might be my favorite ice cream I've had. The honey lavender's also great.

This is a great little ice cream store near the donut store in south Encinitas and I love the gluten free flavors. It's so delicious and fattening. If I lived nearby, I would come here every day! I love the coconut mounds and butter rum pecan ice cream.

Absolutely love their ice cream!! Super duper yummy! They have classic flavors, and also really interesting flavors. I ordered honey lavender, vanilla bean, mixed berry, and chocolate flavors. All the flavors weren't overly sweet. The honey lavender flavor was so good, and fragrant. The vanilla bean flavor was the usual vanilla bean taste. The mixed berry had such good and strong taste of berries. So so good. The chocolate flavor was very rich, and so chocolatey. Delicious! Each ice cream purchase came with a free cookie. Cookie is either the normal one or gluten-free. The cookies were small but yummy. Staff in store was so friendly and patient. Her recommendations were helpful for first timers in the ice cream shop. Absolutely one of my favorite ice cream shops.

The ginger lemon honeycomb ice cream flavor is DELICIOUS!! Plus, they give you a warm nibbler with every ice cream purchase. How cute is that??!!

So yummy! Stopped by yesterday to treat my mom for some ice cream. I got a waffle cone with their mint and chip and she got the waffle cone with bananas fosters (something she loves but it's hard to find). We were given generous scoops and a small cookie each. Ice cream was delicious and so were the waffle cones! I'll definitely come back once the weather gets warmer.

We stopped in for dessert when was visiting from out of town. It's a small place line out the door. There is a large outside courtyard to sit in to enjoy this amazing treat. You can sample the flavors and get a cookie w each purchase which was yummy too. The flavors are not your typical ice cream flavors. I really loved the lemon berry shortbread flavor. The staff was very pleasant. Would definitely go back.

It would appear that Jojo's is popular among locals and tourists with their unique flavors. Having sampled their Honey and Lavenders; Chocolate Mint; Very Berry; and Coconut ice creams I would agree that the ice cream is tasty but not particularly to my liking due to it's softness and lack of texture and chill. Sometimes you eat something so delicious that you can't stop thinking about it. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's magical. JoJo's is one of those places for me. Some friends were gushing about how good the ice cream here is, but I honestly wasn't expecting too much. Then I tried some samples, and I instantly perked up. They were good! It was tough to choose, but I went with the cayenne sea salt caramel. The sea salt caramel was everything you would expect and love, but the cayenne gave it an unexpected afterburn that somehow made the sweetness all the more delicious. It wasn't a combo I would have picked on my own, but it really worked. And it only got better the more I ate. Side note: they have an extra small size that's not on their display. It's about half the size of the smallest they have up, but it's still a generous amount of ice cream. For $4.25 you can get enough to make you very happy, but not feel like you've overindulged. Each order comes with a complimentary mini chocolate chip cookie. And it isn't just a random add-on. It is *good.* Like maybe they should rethink being an ice cream store and be a cookie store instead. They also have a gluten free version, which I didn't try but have been assured is also excellent. Is this the best ice cream in San Diego? I think I need to visit regularly in order to properly make a judgement!

I am a total ice cream lover and can't believe I have never been here before. What a fantastic little place. You can try as many flavors as you want and the flavors are really interesting but not too out in left field. They still had the staples like vanilla and chocolate chip. The portion sizes are good and the prices are right in line with other high end ice cream shops. The best part is that every single order comes with a fresh out of the oven homemade chocolate chip cookie (which you can even get gluten free if you want) that is to die for. In comes in a little wax bag given at check out. The cookie was warm and the chocolate all melty - wow! I love ice cream but if you could just get the cookies I would be happy too. This is a tiny place so the line winds out the door but moves fast. There is no indoor seating but there are lots of tables and chairs in the courtyard in front of it. I have already told all my ice cream pals about this place and I will return with them to share the yumminess.

Our kids really liked this, and the staff was friendly. And it's nice that they give a free (tiny) cookie with every ice cream purchase. However, definitely pay attention to how you're charged. We ordered three JoJo cups and was charged $39. I had to think about it a bit more after I left, and then returned to the shop and confirmed that I was overcharged. When I brought it up, it felt like the more senior worker (she was on the register initially) knew what had happened but she didn't proactively say anything. The other worker there looked into it and realized they had charged me for 5 cups vs. 3. Not sure how that would happen but they processed the refund without any issues. I'd like to think it was an honest mistake, but with inflated prices everywhere, it's easy to assume costs have skyrocketed.

Jojo's Creamery is conveniently located in the Lumber Yard Shopping Center which has ample parking. We enjoyed our ice cream on the common patio in which there was plenty of room for everyone. They pride themselves on local ingredients and strive to be organic, mostly made from scratch, and many times vegan. It was a cute perk to receive a free mini cookie with the ice cream, see pic about the offer. I like the "little something" to add with my ice cream. Their ice cream was good, but texture belied that this wasn't full fat and sugar ice cream. Yet, it was fairly creamy and smooth.

We loved their ice cream -and have been taking our kids there for the last few years. We will not be going back there again. Realty disappointed with their response to our recent, rather horrific experience there. What would have happened had our 5 year old boy swallowed the metal wire from their cleaning equipment? thatcher found in his waffle icecream? Luckily he found it and spat it out. Parents, and well everyone be ware! Lame way to deal with potentially a very serious situation. Not to mention the long term possible damage to our beautiful boy. We won't be going back or recommend it to anyone. Not something I wish upon anyone. Made me very nervous about eating ice cream out, to be honest. NO Stars

Flavors are unique and creamy. Love the butter rum , cayenne ( with a kick ), coconut mounds. You get a mini chocolate chip cookie to go with each serving. Enjoy leisurely eating ice cream at the court yard of tables with umbrellas.

Service was great and super nice. They give you a small cookie along with your ice cream order, which is nice. The cookie isn't anything amazing though. The ice cream itself was average tasting for me. It's not bad ice cream. Nothing stood out to me as amazing, but everything was just solid. It's a little pricey for what it is, but again that's just my opinion. I was told this place is amazing. Overall it's very average to me.

Quite possibly my favorite ice cream in So Cal! The staff is friendly and helpful, and there is plenty of outside seating available. The Nibby Chocolate ice cream is fantastic and comes with a mini chocolate chip cookie. I recommend upgrading to the larger cookie!

one of the best ice creams spots I have ever been to. I always get the honey lavender & peanut butter cup but honestly every flavor there is too good. And it always comes with a free cookie (gf option as well!). The staff is also very friendly and let me try a handful of flavors. There isn't any indoor seating but since this is located in a plaza, there are a ton of outdoor seating options right out front which I preferred anyway on a summer evening.

BEST COOKIES EVER... super buttery, a tiny crisp, nice and chewy, perfect balance of chocolate chips... all in one cookie! Which is FREE with your ice cream?! Offered to you by young employees who are sweet, helpful, eager, and when I compliment them on their celebratory service (who isn't celebrating when they buy or sell ice cream?), they toss an arm around each other, say how much it helps to work with close friends, and quickly bring up how sweet and wonderful the mother-daughter boss team is that they work for. The feel of a good workplace environment really does trickle down from boss to customer! AND... Cayenne Sea Salt Caramel ice cream?! No taste of cayenne, but just a liiiiiittle burn after the sweet-salt of caramel? YES. I ordered a scoop of Mud Pie and a scoop of Cinnamon with *warm cookies* underneath (they created an ingenious way to heat them up) with hot chocolate/ fudge syrup on top (which I wish was thicker), but I brought a serving of Cayenne Sea Salt Caramel home! Can't wait to go back!!!

The Banana's Foster flavor is fantastic. Love the free mini cookie with purchase. The portions are the perfect size and the prices are very reasonable, especially being a beachside location. My boyfriend and I love coming here and we can't wait to come back!

I walked into JoJo's for fun and was pleasantly surprised. I tried the mint cookies and cream and the ginger lemon honeycomb. Mint is always a classic go to flavor for me/ But the ginger honeycomb was amazing. You can taste the ginger but its not overbearing. And it was balanced perfectly with the lemon and sweetness from the ice cream and honey. It was light and creamy. I would come back just for that flavor alone. Also the cookie was equally delicious. It tasted like a brown butter cookie that any bakery would have on display.

The ice cream was yummy. Tried a sweet and spicy flavor that was so good. Loved the spicy kick at the end of each bite. So nice to know that all ingredients are locally provided. Really enjoyed the bite size cookies right out of the oven!

I'd been sleeping on JoJo's for 5 years since I moved here. It seemed nice, but just out of the way enough and ordinary-looking enough to just get repeatedly passed by for the other options with round-the-corner lines of people, or boba by the beach convenience. Man, what a mistake. Of all the places I've tried, this place is just... the best. It's not overly sweet, or overly creamy and it doesn't even taste like ordinary ice cream. It has a thicker, more layered consistency that I think if very satisfying and complex on your palette. The options here are numerous, and based on what I've tried, all pretty good, but- as a peanut butter guy I just feel like their peanut butter cup formula is top notch. It just has this thick but creamy texture, full of dark chocolate notes, freshly grounded and combined with a mystery ingredient of ... honey comb? What a combination. It was surprising (and sorry I spoiled it) but it just. Works. And now you can guiltfree *feel* like you're enjoying an overmuch ice cream cookie sandwich (looking at you, Baked Bear) with the free micro cookie as the JoJo patented 'cherry on top'. Great stuff. Oh yeah, and JoJo's won't flex its ingredient profile anywhere in plain sight, but I went to their website to try and figure out what's different- and it looks as if we've got a completely home grown encinitas local- completely fresh and organic ingredient list that really confirmed in my mind that this is tasting so refreshing and easy on my stomach because what they're putting in there is just high quality. The gluten free cookies might be the best you'll ever have. You can buy them frozen and bake them yourself, but them cooked at the store, or eat the dough frozen which I'm sure isn't recommended but it's dang good. I'm not a big ice cream person and don't really do much dairy but I think they've got the best gluten free cookies in town. Chocolate chip with little bits of toffee. Pretty incredible.

Tremendous ice cream. I don't really go out of ice cream often. My point of comparison is more basic delicious stuff like Foster's Freeze. While I've been to Salt and Straw I find it too douchy. Jojo's is delicous. Smooth in texture, creamy, icey. Not overloaded with sugar and intensity. 10/10 will hit this every time we go to Encinitas. It's perfect for post-Moonlight yum yum.

Such a cute little spot! I loved the atmosphere and wish it wasn't so hidden. The girls that worked there were super sweet and bubbly and it matched the vibe perfectly. Great customer service and samples were available. The pecan pie ice cream is to DIE FOR. I had the small size of pecan pie and vanilla bean and it was a perfect combo. Their ice cream is a great consistency where it isn't too heavy and isn't too light. Really enjoyed, also free mini cookies come with your ice cream

I was shocked at how big the serving was for just one scoop. One of the things I love about Jojo's is that they offer mini chocolate chip cookies with each ice cream purchase. What a yummy surprise! I can't wait to return to try their other flavors.

Best ice cream ever!! When you walk in it's smells like when you walk in to your grandma's house when she makes cookiesI asked my kids if they liked the ice cream and they said it was the best ice cream they ever had Everyone was so nice. Plus they even gave us a fresh baked cookie!

As somebody who's worked in the ice cream business before - I'm always somewhat critical of ice cream places (in a nice, "how good are the sprinkles way"). JoJo's was really pleasant - AND they had vegan flavors! I got vegan mint chip in a kids cup and it came with free sprinkles (which were good by the way!!!!) and a free chocolate chip cookie. The vegan mint was very subtle. It had a hint of mint but nothing too overwhelming, and not too sweet either. More on the refreshing end. Delicious afternoon treat and a tasty experience. Tiny little shop in a corner, you'd miss it if you weren't looking. But you should definitely be looking!

Outstanding - just outstanding - ice cream and cookie store in Encinitas. Bikes by it during the day and made a mental note to return for dessert. The creamery is in a somewhat random strip mall. Don't let that turn you off. The ice cream flavors here are both recognizable but new. They mail basics with details / additions / changes that create something entirely new. The cayenne caramel; chocolate with cacao nibs; lemon berry shortbread. My mouth is watering remembering the glory of last night. And then the cookies and waffle cones. Just phenomenal. I'll be back!

Stopped here while passing the area. It's very flavorful but I'm not a fan of the texture. It's more gritty/icy and I'm more a fan of creamier ice creams. My favorite part was the free cookie. They're small and crispy on the edges. They also offer gluten free cookies.

Best ice cream in the world. That banana foster will undoubtedly be winning gold in the Ice Cream Olympics. I have never had something so divine. And don't get me started on the nibby chocolate. I brought my family here 3 times in one day. It was seriously that delicous. Shoutout to the people running this shop. I had to take down all of their names because they were all so awesome! Makana, Kayla and Shivani, you guys made my family's experience delightful each time and you all have a very bright future ahead of you. Cheers!

Great staff. Super friendly. Honey lavender and lemon berry shortcake was my favorite! So yummy after eating salty food. The great way to end our dinner on the Encinitas strip.

The ice cream was good and the ice cream shop was very cute! We got a free cookie with our purchase as well. It was a nice surprise. There's plenty of outdoor seating in the little plaza/fountain area. There is parking in the plaza as well.
