Highlights

Grounded in nostalgia, JoJo's invites friends and families to transport back to the '80s and '90s with vintage tongue-in-cheek details, arcade games, and a walk-up window for treats on the go or sports fans on the run. The wildly popular restaurant is bringing its over-the-top Biggie Shakes, classic diner fare, and craft cocktails to the historic town, making this the first JoJo's ShakeBAR location outside of Illinois. It plans to pay homage to the Motor City's celebrated musicians Madonna, Eminem, and Diana Ross, as well as, sports icons like Barry Sanders and the locally favorite Faygo pop.

"This eatery came to downtown Detroit in 2023 and offers many 90s throwback vibes — a nod to the millennial audience it’s trying to attract. In addition to play old movies and music, classic bar snacks like wings or mozzarella sticks, soups, salads, sandwiches, and burgers, JoJo’s is also obviously famous for its shakes. Shakes are towering with fantastical toppings like s’mores, cookies, as well as cocktails topped with cotton candy and other temptations, this is the place where more is more." - Serena Maria Daniels

"Offering an outlet to express your inner ’90s angst, expect towering shakes with toppings-as-meals in of themselves, like s’mores, cookies, chocolate-covered marshmallows, even mini shots of Jameson for the St. Patrick’s celebrations. Cocktails are named with ‘80s and ‘90s pop culture references, and to top off the nostalgia, old movies and music is featured in the background." - Serena Maria Daniels

"Illinois-based JoJo’s ShakeBAR, whose menu features extravagant milkshakes, is coming soon to downtown Detroit. Set to open this summer in a 3,480 square-foot storefront on Columbia Street (the pedestrian-only strip next to the Fox Theatre), the space will have intense 80s and 90s vibes with murals of celebrities with milk mustaches, Pac-man cocktail tables, and “same-sider” booths." - Serena Maria Daniels

We absolutely enjoyed our time here! Very clean! Nice vibe. Great old school music. Casey helped us today! She was very sweet she recommended the chicken sandwich with adding cheese! It’s was the best. The shakes are the cherry on top!

Google
This was an Awesome experience. I loved the atmosphere and the customer service was excellent. I had the loaded salad and it was loaded too..I couldn't stop eating it. The milk shakes was the best I have ever had. I had the Gold Digger. If you want a delicious milk shake, you need to come to JoJo's Shake Bar. It's worth the $.

Google
I had the most amazing Girl Scout shake. Loved all the goodies that came with it. The cookie was a little dry for my liking but tasted good. I had the pot pie for dinner. It was so good. One of the best ones I have ever had. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. Little high on prices, but a great place to splurge once in a while. They also have outdoor seating pkus inside seating.

Google
This is definitely a really cool place to visit period the shakes are amazing and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The food is hot, fresh, and has a very good taste. The timing was perfect for everything that I ordered. The appetizers came out perfect to order and on time. Our entrees also came out perfect to order and on time. And so did the desert. The only thing that took a little longer than expected were the lemonades that were ordered.

Google
I was very excited to try this place. I love it!! The food and shakes were amazing. All I will say is I’m lactose intolerant but it was all worth it. The server Lindsay and manager Curtis were very friendly and showed us great customer service.

Google
May 2024 - came here after a show and wanted to try a shake. The shakes were good and very busy place. They do have a TV for any sports games going on but only two bathrooms. We ordered the chocolate nirvana and it was good. I also ordered the root beer float and it was not bad. Overall, a good place to stop by.

Google
Grabbed a quick early dinner between 4 and 5 before the Wings game, was happy to see it was pretty empty around 4! Service was quick and the food was tasty. I loved the Windy City Burger and would def recommend it if you love Chicago hot dogs. The waffle fries did not have much seasoning but a good crunch. I can see how this place would get packed on game days though. They do add an automatic 18% gratuity on the bill which was fine! Would recommend as a fun spot for a meal, cocktails, or dessert.

Google
I don’t ever leave 2 star reviews. Do not get the dairy free milkshakes. They have a very weird consistency — can make better ones at home! After trying that, we ordered a chocolate one and that was better, just your good, average shake. We didn’t drink much of the DF one because it was so bad, but they still charged us. No real issue there, but I’ve worked in service and if my table didn’t like something and had to order something else instead, I would have taken it off the bill. I don’t know what all the fuss is about with this place. Maybe a tourist trap? As far as food goes, it was also average. The Pot Pie was great, and the honey chicken sandwich was good too just super sweet. Not a terrible experience, but I won’t be returning. My least favorite restaurant in Detroit so far.

Yelp
Great service and good for lunch! Yoda was a great waitress and had a great personality. I ordered the fish and chips which was super crispy and filling. I wish I ordered a shake but next time!

Holly M.

Yelp
Very underwhelming. The food is mediocre and overpriced given the serving size. The furniture is uncomfortable and crowded. Service was slightly slow and less than enthusiastic. I liked the 90's shows playing on the TVs. The drinks had pretty good flavor, but we're again overpriced. I reccomend sharing. Overall, I'd say it was fine. But it's really not worth it when there are so many better options nearby.

Yelp
shake was hand delivered sideways dripping on the floor. And for 2 ppl without notice they added %18 gratuity we're HUGE tippers. Managers RESPONSE is rude and I don't need a tip, especially for 2 ppl added to my bill without notification. AS I STATED we don't have a problem tipping. AGAIN, AVOID luckily we were able to prevent several people from dining here as we left. Rude response

Yelp
In hindsight, I should have looked at reviews in advance. I was looking for a place with fun shakes for my child that offers an alternative to cows milk. JoJo's was recommended. We arrived, with smiles across our faces, only to be greeted with "Do you have a reservation?" ... oh. Uh.... "No, we're just here for a shake." Then we were informed to go to the bar to order. We went to the bar, as instructed, just for the bartender to be annoyed that my children sat in the bar stools and told them to get off. I realized after that they are not allowed to sit there or whatever but we were just doing as instructed, and by them sitting on a stool they were trying to get out of the way of a busy restaurant. We awkwardly stood at the bar, but then someone came up to us with a tablet for our order. Again, we annoyed them by not knowing our order since we had never been there before. She got us a menu and thankfully my child was easily able to identify the birthday treat she wanted. We were then told to wait by the shake counter. The employees making shakes were the happiest employees we encountered and I finally breathed a sigh of relief because I was worried we had made a terrible choice. These employees were friendly with one another but were also friendly to my family, thankfully. The outcome was pretty awesome but not sure it was worth it. A delicious dessert and satisfied kids was definitely a win, but we can get those elsewhere. Maybe we'll try again one day because children don't forget those special treats but I'd only go if we're already downtown, not making a special trip again.

Yelp
The hot chocolate was amazing with the melted marshmallow on top. The spinach dip I was shocked how delicious it was. They also had a shoot glass made out of Fruity Pebbles with a Rumchatta drink. Different and it was good.

Yelp
FUN FUN place! We made reservations and ate here before a Tigers game. Lots of unique beverage choices. Blackberry margarita was tasty. My husband tried the Wonder Years shake with Bacardi which was enjoyable! We all liked the food we had: buffalo chicken wrap, Mac and Cheese entree with chicken, Walking taco and Charleston Wrap. Our server was friendly and helpful and we got our food and drinks promptly. Pricey, but worth trying for the nostalgia!

Yelp
Went on a Saturday night (definitely needed a reservation) for a night out with friends. Cute place, but VERY loud music which made it hard to hear (maybe personal preference for me) Got the elote salad which was a yummy vegetarian option- dressing on the spicer side fyi but tasty. Got the three's company shake as pictured and ended up splitting it four ways haha! If you don't have a sweet tooth this is a great option because they are HUGE! The downside was unfortunately the service- long waits in between requesting menus/silverware/straws from the workers and getting them brought over. I get it, busy place, but definitely had a hard time flagging people down.

Stacy K.

Yelp
I liked it here. I would definitely come back. It was a fun vibe. Originally when I made reservations, I did not know the Lions would have a game on this day, so it was super packed, but we came after going to the Opera House to see Wicked and I wanted a fun place to eat. So I am not entirely sure if it is this crowded normally on a Sunday night, but when there are events, warning, you do need a reservation and they will not be taking walk-ins according to the hosting staff. We got the smash burgers. They tasted like Big Macs, but I am not mad about it. I do like a Big Mac. I also tried their waffle fries. They were pretty good, crispy and tasty. I also tried their potato salad, it was tasty, and their brisket, pretty good. We ordered their crazy shakes. I had the chocolate Nirvana. I enjoyed it. It was huge, two of us could not finish and we had to bring it home. It was not the absolute best shake, but I enjoyed it. It had Oreo's around the rim, a big cookie, chocolate covered marshmallow, and donut hole. We took home half a shake and most of the toppings. Not really the best food ever, but more of an experiential style restaurant with tasty treats. It was a bit pricey and they do put on the tip in advanced, but that is fine, they did a great job here seating us, serving, us, and making sure we got everything we needed. The server did warn us that fries and sides did not come with the meals, which I appreciated, she did not warn us about the upcharge on the sauces on the side. There are also only a couple restrooms in all for the entire packed restaurant. The drinks looked good here. I did not get to sample any. It looked like they have good mocktails which I love and appreciate. They also have cool looking hot cocoa. I would come back with family or friends any time. It was fun with a cool vibe.

Yelp
My friends and I have gone to JoJo's Shake Bar a couple of times now, and both times were decent experiences. What I have ordered during my dining experiences are Buffalo Wings and the Smash Burger. I also ordered a Orange Cooler shake. All of the food was good! My only complaint was the service. Both times that I was at the restaurant; the service was mediocre. And there was a long wait on food for myself and the people in my party. The servers weren't attentive, and my party and I had to constantly ask for water, napkins and utensils. I wouldn't mind trying out JoJo's another time bc the food is good to me, and hopefully service will be better the next time around.

Ketan S.

Yelp
Indoor Decor is awesome!! This place is an experience! They had it all lit up with Holiday decorations! Service is superb! We had made reservations 4 days in advance for the weekend! They were super busy and the wait that day was 3 hours, for those that didn't have reservations. They are right next to the Tigers Stadium and since it was game day that night.. the streets were busy and parking was expensive! ($30) They have a variety of shakes! And this is a shake bar! Great for kids!! Food doesn't seem to be much of a priority for them; compared to the ambiance, service & shakes! We had the windy smash burger and the walking tacos and shared Chocolate Niravana Shake! (Oreo Shake with a double chocolate donut hole + a chocolate dip marshmallow + Chocolate Chip Cookie) We also got a winter wonderland special - Jingle Juice cocktail. * Their shakes are big in size!

Lex G.

Yelp
Definitely make sure you make a reservation if you want to come here. Sometimes they will not see you. If you do not have a reservation since they don't allow a ton of walk-ins especially on the weekends. The food came out so hot and so fast. We were really impressed. The only things that could've been improved were the customer service at the host stand and our server coming to check up on us a little bit more. She was super friendly, but there were times where we needed some stuff and she wouldn't be around. The restaurant was clean for the most part! Has a very cool vibe inside .

Cristina P.

Yelp
JoJo's Shake Bar definitely has old school diner vibes but in a modern area. It's in a great part of downtown; they've really made the alley way fun with lots of bars, shops and decorations. The actual restaurant was also fun. Lots of things to look at and fun decorations and colors. ‍ The service was okay. We did have a big group but it took us 3 hours from start to finish to get through all the apps, food, and shakes. For food we tried the burger and triple dogs. Both were good but greasy. Wasn't anything over the top or different. I'm a big fan of waffle fries so I did like the fries a lot. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed in the shakes. They didn't taste as good as they looked and the cookies were dry. Overall price wasn't too bad. If you add on alcohol drinks it can get pretty pricey, but that's always the case. Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon. Although would be a fun place to take kiddos!

Yelp
Actually surprised that I was so pleased with my experience here. I've been super excited to try jojo's since they opened a location in Detroit and my friends and I finally had the opportunity! It's close enough to Little Ceasers Arena that you can come for a meal before hand (also close to Comerica Park, Ford Field, the Fox, etc..). We sat down with an idea of what we wanted so we ordered pretty quick. I had the Windy City smash burger with a side of fries and the Chocolate Nirvana milkshake. The smash burger was AMAZING. I've never thought to put Chicago dog toppings in a burger but wow I never want to eat a burger without those toppings again. It was awesome. Cooked perfectly and the cheese was melted perfect. Overall so good. They give you a ton of waffle fries on the side and those were good as well. The chocolate nirvana milkshake was delicious as well. I loved the donut hole and marshmallow toppings. This was my first "gourmet" milkshake ever and I was super happy with it. My friends really liked their meals as well. The server was very friendly and we had several workers come to us asking if we liked the food and how everything was. We went on Halloween night and they gave out candy as well. One con was that when paying, there is a screen that asks for a tip but the suggestions were all like 5%, 7%, etc and I was confused why it was so low. The server explained that the tip for the server was already included in the bill and the additional tip screen was for the bartender who made the shakes (or drinks if you get a cocktail) and the bussers. Not a bad idea but I wish it said that on the screen.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of coming here a few times, during the day and at night. The vibes are so good at any hour. The service is attentive and everyone is very kind here. The food is decent. The shakes are fabulous. There are nearby parking lots and street parking. The location is gorgeous. It's one of my favorite streets. The bathroom decor is really fun, covered with magazine covers of the past.all of the decor is really fun in this place. Lots of fun signs and art. I love that you can get anything you want here: food, cocktails, desserts, shakes, and more. The shakes can be made vegan too. The walking taco is tasty and fun. Taco ingredients on top of Fritos chips, served in a Fritos bag. Really fun! The Bloody Mary comes with a Chicago style hotdog on top. Definitely fun and filling! I appreciate that they have a full bar here. They have a wide variety of shakes and they can come with a lot of fun and fabulous toppings. I kept mine simple but I've seen some that are huge and look like works of art! Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Outside is usually lit up or has festive decor based on the season. I definitely recommend coming here. They are open late so it's a great spot to hit up after another event, if you're in the area.

Yelp
I saw this place on Instagram, and knew my friends and I needed to pay a visit, especially because they offered a dairy-free shake option for my friend with a dairy allergy. Before stepping inside, I must admit I had some reservations. I thought it might be more about looks than quality, considering their menu filled with massive monster shakes and over-the-top food creations. However, I was pleasantly surprised - the food was genuinely delicious! The shakes were incredibly delicious. I went for the gold digger shake - a toffee caramel base topped with a donut hole, a marshmallow, a giant cookie, and more. It was soooo good. When it came to the food, I opted for the smash burger and a side of fries. The portion sizes generous, and the burger struck the perfect balance between flavorful, juicy, and messy. We went on a Tuesday evening, and to our advantage, it wasn't too crowded. The staff was friendly and attentive, and our orders were served promptly. No complaints there! Despite the lively and trendy atmosphere, JoJo's succeeded in delivering both style and substance. The food not only has a photo-worthy aesthetic, but also satisfies your cravings.

Yelp
First things first: AJEE, our server, might be the nicest, most pleasant waitress I have ever had in my life. If you want to be treated, kindly, efficiently, and have someone put a smile on your face, ask for her. He came on a day when it was not very busy. I ordered the Smashburger with the extra stuff on it, and it was excellent. Strawberry milkshake was simple and perfect. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich, and she loved it, and her milkshake was off the charts . The peppermint one. My daughter orders, macaroni and cheese and I really liked it as well. Bottom line is that everything was really well-made, and I would definitely go there again. What a perfect place if you can get in before sporting events in the local area or really anytime. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other things.

Vicki G.

Yelp
Prices are a little high, but the portions are large! The milkshakes are so fun! We got the Wonder Years; it looked incredible and was pretty delicious too! I got the Charleston wrap-it was really tasty, but I couldn't finish it. We ordered way too much food because we didn't know the portions were big. The decor is awesome! So fun!! Our waitress was incredible. Very attentive and friendly even with the restaurant being packed. There were a few birthday parties happening while we were there.

Lauren M.

Yelp
And I'm taking responsibility for this one. 3/5 because the staff was fine, the food was 50/50-but I heard the shakes were on point. I mean I guess that's what they're known for and I need to order better. Between 4 of us we got Spinach Dip - Mozzarella sticks - Kids shake - Hot chocolate - Burger - based of of fellow diners reviews, they've had much better but it looked delish to me Buffalo chicken water wrap - HELL NO!! Chicken noodle soup - edible Mini hot dogs - kinda hard to F those up. Kid ate em Side salad - just no Waitress did her job. Nothing more. Nothing less Host did nothing more, a lot less Rest of the staff was great. Smiling. Helpful. 18% tip included... We'll try again but for now, we're good. The shakes were great. It's really cute inside but that's all it's got.

Marcel M.

Yelp
Reta the bar tender girl. is the best bar tender 10 outta 10.. recommended. She polite respectful beautiful and her drinks are fire yall check she out

Chiara N.

Yelp
first off, the vibe of this place on a saturday night is fun, loud and crowded, and you definitely neeed a reservation. the decor was super cute and something fun was playing on every tv. the location really makes this place. i had the honey chicken sandwich which was pretty good, but not 14$ (fries not included) good. the three's a company shake was super cute! the actual shake was yum but the toppings (cookie and donut) were a bit on the dry side. the staff were friendly, but it was hard to get a hold of them when our table needed something. i don't blame them, the place was pretty busy! but it just made it our stay a bit longer. the drink menu looked delicious so i would come back to try those!

Kevin L.

Yelp
Came down for a pre-game bite with the family before Disney on Ice and received a recommendation to stop by this new spot about 10 minute walk away from Little Caesars Arena. Burgers and fries were great. The shake was more novelty than tasty (the cookie that came with our golddigger shake was stale), and the service was a bit slow, but I guess that is to be expected with three Disney on Ice shows on a Saturday.

Elisa M.

Yelp
I think I had my hopes a little too high and therefore left a little disappointed. The server was polite however I'm not sure if I confused her or she confused me but at the end I didn't get what I wanted because I wasn't sure from what she described. The menu shows a milk & cookie flight, it states it comes with four milks and four cookies. She kept asking me if I wanted the monster and I'm like what's the difference. I spy asking what kind of cookies and milk comes with the order and she couldn't tell me what kind of cookies it was but she kept telling me it wasn't the monster cookies which were shown on the menu. Yet she couldn't tell me are they peanut butter, chocolate chip, sugar, snicker doodle . . . NOTHING besides it's not the monster. So I decided no need in wasting my money. My cousin ordered an adult shake which didn't disappoint but it was very busy and very sweet so I could literally only have a spoon before feeling my sugar rise. I ordered the fries and I don't know if they are afraid of seasonings in the kitchen but these lacked basic salt and pepper. We were informed when we sat down that they won't allow you to split the check however they will allow multiple payments, and they add an 18% gratuity automatically to all orders. Also if you are willing to leave a review while there, talk to your waitress as you can take a spin for a free shot.

Yelp
Absolutely awful experience me and my partner had tonight at JoJo's. This is my second time coming here and my first was amazing, great service, hot food and nice ambiance to the restaurant. Second go around I can't say the same, walked in around 10:40 and was told to seat ourselves, that was fine. We decided to sit at the booth near the door and their Ac unit was dripping down onto the table and also us. Server greeted us, dropped menus and then immediately posted up at the bar with her phone, we had to ask another server could we move away from the ac unit dripping on us because our server still had not returned to the table. Moved outside to their beautiful patio and still waited an additional 10 minutes for our server to actually come take our orders. Food was dropped to the table and my order was completely wrong, while my boyfriend's was right but his fries were lukewarm. Manager was the one to drop the food and fixed the issues with my order, waited an additional 10 minutes for my food which was fine. Not once during this entire ordeal did our original server ever come back to check on the table. My correct food was dropped to me and we proceeded to eat the most bland, unseasoned food. Completely unsatisfied and fed up we waited for the server to come back at drop boxes, that never came by the way and my partner had to go personally grab her from behind the bar. Worst experience tonight and absolutely unamused by the food, paid $64 for nothing including a service charge yet was barely serviced. Will not be returning!

Rob D.

Yelp
Fantastic place to get big shakes and grab a few quick bites. Cool hang out place where you can bring your friends or family. Marki, our waitress, was great. She went over the menu with us and gave us her personal recommendations which we ended up enjoying. 10/10 experience.

Carolyn E.

Yelp
This place is so much fun! I went for a YES event and received a free Pride shake - it comes with a whole slice of cake on top! Definitely Instagram worthy, but delicious too. I'd for sure try one of their boozy shakes next time. They have a large patio area out front and lots of seating inside - we had a group of 6 with a reservation and were seated immediately on a very busy evening. Service was a tad slow, but we really didn't mind - there is so much to look at! I had the Pretty in Pink cocktail which was perfect - very balanced and not too sweet. Actually, everyone reported that their cocktails were not too sweet, though we thought that might be the case, with the sweet theme of the place. We were pleasantly surprised - apparently the sangria was awesome. We also had snacks - the spinach artichoke dip and Jojo's loaded fries - both were excellent. The dip was homemade and super creamy - made with brie cheese or something; so good. I'd for sure come back to try more things - there is a ton of fun stuff on the menu. I also love that they're open until midnight - it would be a great place to go before or after a game or concert. Two thumbs up for Jojo's!

Sesa G.

Yelp
My first time in JoJo's and I was impressed with the aesthetic of it! I know some people enjoy going to cute places to take pictures and this is one of them! I got the Like It Elote salad and it wasn't very impressionable. I would rate it a 6/10, to be honest. The shakes are very good though! If you're looking for a good shake spot or cocktail spot that you can go with your girls and take pictures, I would recommend!

MacKenzie G.

Yelp
I had a very scary and alarming experience here that could've put me in the hospital. To start, my friend had lipstick on her cup and I had floaties in my water... ew. I am plant based and have a SEVERE dairy allergy. I had a wonderful waitress named Dee who made note of my dietary restrictions and worked hard to make sure our needs were met. I ordered a walking taco with DAIRY FREE cheese and BEYOND meat. Dee noted that I had severe dietary restrictions. Yet, the cooks make me a walking taco with REAL cheese and REAL meat! I ate it and knew IMMEDIATELY! I was HORRIFIED! I have not had meat or dairy in THREE YEARS! I told my waitress and she took it back to the kitchen. They tried to gaslight both me and her into thinking that it was beyond meat and vegan cheese. This was a boldface LIE because they dont even have vegan shredded cheese on the menu. They literally told the waitress that they would charge her to make another one which is insane because they messed up not her. Consequently, the manager came out (she was great too) and confirmed this. She said my meal would be on the house. They brought out another walking taco with beyond meat and vegan sliced cheese (actually on the menu) that they cut up. It was SO GOOD! But overshadowed by my scary experience. They could have made this from the very beginning. However, after, because I did eat something I was allergic to in the beginning, I got very very sick after. That kitchen staff is gaslighting their own fellow employees and customers. They literally got me sick. Scary stuff. Shoutout to my waitress Dee though! She put up with it and deserves a raise.

Yelp
We had a reservation but didn't need it. Several were seated before us without. We were seated but then we waited for over 20 minutes to get a server but only after asking 3 times. 1 for lack of attention to customers. When we did get a server she was friendly and eager to help 4 . The food was good and the shakes were as well. 4 . If I average things out it's a solid 3 . Chances are we'll try this place again and I'd love to update the review if they provide a better experience. They add 18% to tip the whole staff then give you an opportunity to give more to your actual server which isn't something I've seen before. I do think the folks assembling the shakes made them look really good so I'm glad they get something but I like to know these things going in. I'm sure we'll give them another try.

Bella M.

Yelp
The place was insanely packed when we went and it was around 6pm so we sat at the bar, now we know why! The service was 10/10 the lady at the bar was so sweet and patient with us because it was our first time there and we did not know what to order! I also have allergies which they accommodated so that receives an extra star from me! The shakes were so filling we couldn't even finish but they were sooo good if you're really having a sweet tooth!

Erin A.

Yelp
This is a fun place to eat! The shakes are a real show-stopper and easily shareable because they are HUGE! All of the food was very rich, flavorful, and a bit greasy, so be prepared for that. Everything was delicious! I had a huge shake and some jojo fries, which were covered in cheese and so tasty! The bathroom was so cool with all of the vintage/throwback magazine covers! It's almost like a game looking through all the celebrities on the walls. The waitresses were friendly and patient with us as we decided what we wanted to eat. My only caution is that although they do have a kids menu, be aware that they may not be playing kid-friendly content on the televisions in the restaurant. When we went, Roadhouse (the movie with Patrick Swayze) was on and there was a scene with a topless woman, which our kids saw.

Yelp
My server Dezae was great to my kids and helped them find the perfect shake. My salad was fine, not the best but not the worst.. the corn l, pickled onions and the dressing were the best parts. It did have a little bit of a spicy kick which I enjoyed.

Yelp
The drinks are visually stunning; worthy of Instagram and TikTok, but the milkshake itself is a miss. Soft serve ice cream in a cup. I was expecting a blended milkshake made using hard frozen, hand-dipped ice cream. My companions enjoyed their drinks. Will I return? Probably. I want to try more of the menu.

Yelp
I visited Jojo's Shake Bar on Tuesday, 5/16/23. I wanted to do a simple milkshake, so I ordered the Basic Strawberry milkshake. I was hoping that the milkshake would be made out of strawberry ice cream or have fresh strawberries included. However, it was just a vanilla milkshake with a bit of strawberry syrup. It also came across as too sweet. Milkshakes are generally sweet, but this sweetness was on another level. Overall, the drink wasn't as enjoyable as I anticipated. The service was friendly and attentive, though.

Yelp
These Shakes are CRAZY YALL. Lol very yummy though! My favorite part was the cake and the sour airhead strip on top! The presentation was EVERYTHING and the inside of JoJo's Shake Bar was SUCH A VIBE! They also had a bar with all types of pretty drinks! Oh yea let's not forget the food they got‍ it was a TREAT to be invited to try their new #prideshake Everything was extremely clean and I could sit here for hours lol y'all should definitely go try it out! There so much to choose from! Don't worry about being too hot either! It was nice and cool inside WITH a breeze. You definitely won't be cold tho lol. Service was great and the ladies at the bar and the ones serving were so sweet! Had a great time watching powerpuff girls at the bar ha! They got the BEST SHOWS PLAYING IN THERE AND PLENTY OF SEATING AREA.

Yelp
Let me start with this place is great and the idea for the business is amazing! However, one bill per table, added service charge of 18% while they want you to tip afterward and the pricing on the menu for food is outrageous; made this trip less exciting. True mood killer! The 18 dollar burgers and fries aren't worth the price tag. Outside of the shakes, I'm not sure there is much value to this menu. The service was great and the shakes were amazing and had alot of character. We would come back for strictly the shakes. We will eat elsewhere. ***ps okay fountain pop iced tea!

Yelp
We absolutely love the ambiance and the service we received at Jojo's and the smash burger was delicious

Yelp
Stopped in because my co-worker was here from out of town and we both were hungry after getting some work done. When you walk in, it's bright, welcoming and you can't help but get a whiff of shakes and cakes. We decided to sit at the bar and our bartender was pretty decent. It took her a little while to warm up to us as she didn't smile too much until towards the end of our stay. But we ordered and I just say the food was spot on. I had the tomato bisque and the CodFather (fish sandwich) and my co-worker had the chicken wrap. The soup was pretty delicious and my favorite out of the two. I gave the restaurant 5 stars because it was an overall good experience and I can't wait to go back. I didn't try to shakes because I was drinking Scotch and we all know you don't want to mix the two.

Yelp
I appreciate that this venue was able to accommodate a large party. I thought the food was decent but overpriced for what you get. For instance, there is a triple mini hot dog plate for $14 which is not much food and they taste like something you could microwave at home. The $1 hot dogs at Sam's Club taste better and are more filling. I did enjoy the vibe/interior design and JoJo's is conveniently located next to the arena and stadiums.

Yelp
Food average and over 150 dollars on food you get from a bar for 40 dollars. Small menu options that are over priced and not worth the money

Yelp
We stopped in here to get milkshakes for dessert one evening before going to a concert downtown. I was surprised to learn that this place is more than just milkshakes, from the name, you would not think that they served entrees, but they do .I was also surprised that you have to check in with a hostess and get seated at a table. I guess I was just expecting more of an ice cream type place that was casual and you walk up to a counter and order. But they have a full-fledged wait staff, menu, and a full bar. They even have boozy shakes. I ordered a basic milkshake in the caramell flavor with reese pieces. It was very tasty and for me plenty. I didn't need all the extras.. My husband on the other hand got the chocolate nirvana milkshake. It was loaded up with a gigantic chocolate chip cookie, a chocolate covered marshmallow, a donut hole, and an oreo rim. He seemed to enjoy it, I'd be in a sugar coma! It's a fun place, I'd get a shake here and walk around town with it, probably not dine in again.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite before a show, made reservations in case. Was a bit busy but still some open seats so not sure a reservation actually did anything for us, considering we couldn't even get a normal table and had to seat our four year old at a high top barstool sans backrest. Hostesses were plain lost up there, trying to figure out how to seat people. They did offer us to wait yet another 20 minutes for a lower table but that defeats the purpose of a reservation and we were on schedule to meet our show. Ambiance is like a grown up ice cream parlor that has a liquor license. Very aqua and neon. Small bar with one beer on tap, yawn. Nothing special. Do like that it's in a stylish alley next to the Fox however and they have outdoor bench seating. Food was okay. That's it. Smash burger was good but waaay too much sauce on it. Like the sesame seed bun and tasted good. Ordered a side of coleslaw and it was dry and crappy. Also tried the fries. Overcooked and tough. Food was quick though. Took us like 30 min to eat and get out. Drinks were okay. Had some peach whiskey old fashioned and it was fine. Wasn't mind blowing or anything. Our bill was like $75 for two adults and a child. Don't sample any desserts or shakes so no idea on that end. Again nothing special but burger was on point. That's it.

Yelp
Social media has been all a buzz about this spot since it opened. I was excited to finally make my way in. I'd made a reservation for my girls and I through Open Table for late that evening. Upon entry, we were not greeted but promptly asked whether we had a reservation to which I responded yes and gave my name and confirmed it was a party of three. We were seated and despite us sharing it was our first time there we weren't given any sort of recommendations as to what's popular with patrons or any explanation of the menu. We weren't set to order the initial time we were checked on and there was a long time between that and the next time we were checked on. I ordered a Smash Burger, extra Zip Sauce on the side with an Orange Crème Float. My one friend ordered also ordered a Smash Burger with her zip sauce on the side with a side of mayo. My last friend ordered wings and requested them plain with a lemonade/sweet tea mix. My float was brought to the table well ahead of the the arrival of the food. I had to ask for more orange soda to add to it when my burger arrived. I also had to request extra zip sauce despite ordering it with the meal. My friend's wings were initially brought out sauced despite requesting they be plain. No silverware or napkins were provided. When we asked for some we were given to-go plasticware. It took time for everything to come together so we could finally eat. The food temperature wasn't to my liking at that point but with all the delays I just ate it as is. The taste was great and that let me know it would've been even better warmer. We'd received our bill altogether despite requesting they be separate. We asked to split the bill in half with payment across two cards. My one friend's card was instead charged for the entire order and my card was charged $0.44. The experience was lackluster at best given the experiences I've seen had all over social media. It did not live up to the hype at all. I was disappointed.

Yelp
I came here for lunch. Service was friendly and prompt. It's a bit pricey but you are also paying for the atmosphere. The place has a cool 90s vibe, with 90s slogans on the walls and throwback shows on the televisions (Rugrats, Power Rangers, and old music videos were playing). The food was good, not spectacular, but again, I feel this is a place you come to for the vibe. I got a turkey Reuben and it was pretty good, better than I expected, and a good size. The fries were bland. The shake was huge and cutely decorated, and was also tasty. Overall, a good place to check out. Also, they have free video games.

Yelp
I can't speak for the drinks, but the food is not it. For those prices I would expect a burger and fries to have some flavor and salt. The ketchup was also a weird, sweet, and thick paste - more vinegar than Canadian ketchup maybe? There are so many better options downtown and close to the stadiums than this! I PROMISE you!

Yelp
Tried this place for brunch with a new friend recently. The food & milkshakes were delicious! The restaurant had a fun vibe. However, we made reservations for right when they opened as we weren't sure if they would be busy or not. We were running about 10 minutes behind & called to make sure that would be okay. The girl on the phone was pleasant & said that was no issue. So when we arrived, they were fully open, but the front door was locked. After a few minutes of standing their trying to open the door, no one came to unlock it, so we entered through an exit door to the left of the main door. We walked to the host stand & the 2 girls standing there seemed like they couldn't be bothered with us & just wanted to be on their phones. They weren't very friendly or welcoming & walked us over to our table without much interaction. We went on a Sunday morning & they weren't too busy so the service was pretty good. Our waitress was very nice & gave good recommendations. I think we got lucky with our waitress, because another table of 2 people came in, were sat in a different section, & never got service so they left. I am giving 4 stars because of the hostess interaction & that they didn't have prices on their mimosas & $14 for ONE mimosa is extremely high (it wasn't even strong or a double) since I've gone to many other establishments & received many more mimosas for that price & even bottomless mimosas at that same price. Would definitely go back for their food or shakes, but if you want mimosas for brunch, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Yelp
Came here for my nieces birthday. We had reservations but had to wait for another larger party to leave before we could sit down. They have outdoor seating, if that's your thing. I love the aesthetic of the restaurant. Very cute, colorful, & the wood booths are nice. Our waitress was great. The food can add up but it was honestly really good. I ordered a New Yorker and enjoyed it. The bread was perfectly toasted and the fries were A1. I'm not a huge fan of waffles fries but these were perfectly cooked. My daughter got the Wonder Years shake. It is definitely packed with sweetness & flavor. She also had the honey chicken sandwich & loved it. For myself, I had the champagne sangria & really enjoyed it. It's also on the sweeter side if you like a sweet drink.

Yelp
DATE & TIME OF VISIT: July 1, 2023 @ 11:30. They were not busy (2 other tables besides ours). AMBIANCE: We liked the full dinner look & feel. We were seated at one of the high top tables and the tiny metal stools are not comfortable at all! I would have preferred to sit at a normal table. Many staff members were just sitting around. CLEANLINESS: From first sight all seemed good but then it went down from there :(. The table had stuck on dried food, our water cups had food stuck on them, and the water pitcher had floating food in it, yuck. We didn't touch any of the water or use those cups. SERVICE / SERVER: The hostess was meh, not the friendliest. Our server was very nice, she explained the theme of the restaurant, some good choices for food and general chatting. FOOD: This is what we ordered.... Baked French Toast -- Taste, was overly sweet but alright. Size, was about 4"x4" (small), had a few very thin slices of strawberries, few blueberries, & a black berry. A cup of warm syrup. Price $14 (OVERPRICED!!) and it doesn't come with any side. Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich -- Taste, was ok, almost overly fried to hard. Size, it was the thinnest piece of chicken I have ever seen! It's like they cut the breast in four thin slices and gave me one for the sandwich. Price $14 (OVERPRICED!!) and it doesn't come with any side! Smash Burger-- Taste, alright, pretty greasy. Size, normal fast food size. Price, $14 (OVERPRICED!!) and it doesn't come with any side! We ordered fries with it and this cost an extra $4 (OVERPRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET!). Breakfast Burrito-- Taste, ok. Size, small! Price, $14 (OVERPRICED!!). This was lacking flavor and again came with no side! We also tried 2 shakes.... Girl Scout -- Taste, sweet almost too much! The embellishments (cookie, marshmallow, etc) where NOT GOOD! Size, alright. Price, $14 (OVERPRICED!). Chocolate Nirvana-- Taste, again super sweet & just ok. Basically like the other shake, not worth the price! $14 OVERALL THOUGHTS: Definitely NOT worth the price we paid! $109 (that's a lot for what we got)!!! And let's talk about the one thing that really made us decide to NEVER RETURN OR RECOMMEND this place .... They add 18% gratuity no matter what you order! You don't get to even choose how much gratuity you want to leave (unless you want to do higher!). So if you have horrible service you don't get the choice to adjust that, its just added into you bill!!! That is just INSANE!!!!! And BAD BUSINESS!!!! And the waitress said that she only gets 10% of that gratuity and the business gets the other 8%.... Ummm WHY?!?!?! Didn't I already pay the business for my food?!?!?!? WOULD I RECOMMEND OR RETURN? That's a BIG no!!!!

Yelp
Came here with the girls for Sunday Brunch. Luckily it wasn't too crowded when we arrived. Deja was our waitress and she was awesome!! I had the vanilla milkshake with oreos to start and it was delish! We saw the patron towers. Those bad boys are $65! Maybe next time. For my entree I ordered the brisket hash. The taste was decent. But it was literally three slices of fatty brisket on top of the dish. That's it..... just THREE slices. So that was disappointing. Like I expected more for the price. The Jojo fries were bomb! I would recommend sharing those because it's more than you think. I was told the soup was good as well. They do take reservations so keep that in mind.

Yelp
My friend and I had a good experience at Jojo's, but I understand the reasons for the mixed reviews. I think that Jojos is one of the places where if you set your expectations for what it is, that you will enjoy it. And also if you go during an off popular time (this also may be key). Reservations are also good! We went late on a Sunday afternoon, and there were a few other tables, enough to feel lively, but not really busy. Jojo's is located in the pedestrian only street of entertainment district, a wide brick walkway, with fairy lights strung overhead. On a sunny afternoon, the street side wall of the restaurant was open to the air and patio. The interior is fun: old style diner, neon signs and celebrity art, cartoons on the TVs behind the bar. We had great service from Casey P., she was friendly and on top of things without being annoying. I had a special event shake for Pride (sorry if you see the photo and want the rainbow shake, it's not a regular item) and my friend and I split that and the menu Chocolate shake. Here is where expectations come into play. If you expect a fun, bright, themed shake, over the top toppings, Insta-worthy, and a standard-good shake, you'll be happy. If you want a rock your world, best shake ever (no frills), then you're not going to be happy. Is this the best shake I've had? Not even close. But for what it was, along with the environment, it was thoroughly enjoyable. Jojo's has a good variety food menu as well as some fun sounding cocktails. I had a burger and waffle fries and a friend had a salad with chicken. The burger was solid, the waffle fries were just okay, they needed to be crispier on the outside. If you read these reviews and know what you are coming in for, on off peak times, you'll enjoy Jojo's.

Yelp
I went here with my friend for dinner + dessert one night and it was so great! The weather was perfect so the patio area was open and it was such a fun atmosphere. Our waitress was so friendly and kind which made our experience even better! My friend and I both got a pride shake since it was featured that month and it was such a fun shake that came with a whole slice of cake on top and a bunch of other candies in it. I'll definitely be going back again and trying a different shake next time since they all sounded so good!
