Jolie Ville Resort & SPA kings Island Luxor

A huge resort with huge potential — but unfortunately, very poorly managed. Firstly, the resort is clearly very popular. You can tell by the constant stream of tour buses coming in and out. However, the staff seem completely overwhelmed by the volume of guests. Check-in and check-out take forever, and there simply aren’t enough staff to handle the crowds efficiently. There also doesn’t appear to be any system in place to pre-clear tour groups, which we’ve seen implemented smoothly at other large properties. We also tried to book an activity through the resort, but the experience was frustrating. We were passed from one staff member to another, and no one seemed to know how the process worked. In the end, we gave up and booked through Viator ourselves. Secondly, the food is extremely disappointing. We understand that the hotel is essentially on its own island with little to no competition, but that’s not an excuse for the quality to be this poor. The only somewhat acceptable option is the breakfast buffet — and even then, you have to choose very carefully. We tried three different restaurants on the property, and all of them were disappointing. At the main restaurant, it took 40 minutes to prepare a simple spaghetti bolognese, followed by another 30 minutes just to get the bill. At the kebab restaurant, we waited 40 minutes for grilled meat, only for it to arrive stone cold and so dry it felt like jerky. Even the freshly made bread — which you can see being prepared in a clay oven by a lovely lady — sat out so long in the wind that it arrived cold as well. To make matters worse, the appetisers were served after the main course. The rooms themselves are reasonably sized and clean, but everything feels very dated and in need of renovation. Lastly, the spa pricing is shockingly high. The massage treatments cost two to three times more than what you would pay at a proper five-star hotel. For a resort that markets itself as a spa destination, the pricing completely defeats the purpose. Overall, this is a property with enormous potential, but without better management, staffing, and quality control, it falls far short of what it could be.

During our Egypt tour, we stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it. The hotel is built on an island on the Nile River, which makes the atmosphere truly special. The ambiance, breakfast, and rooms were all excellent. It has a charming boutique hotel style, and we fell in love with the rooms. I stayed with a friend, and our room consisted of two interconnected rooms, which was very comfortable and convenient. The garden, the view, and the overall design really impressed us. Highly recommended

This place has so much potential. First, the location is amazing, the views of the nile and sunset are incredible. It is fairly close to city centre. The A La Carte restaurants are really good and fairly priced, especially as everyone on half board gets 500 Egyptian pounds per meal credit there. The weather is good, however would be extremely hot during the summer. All the staff are helpful amd genuinely make the effort. However, there are some pretty large issues. Despite the room being large and comfortable, much of it is outdated, and wifi often cuts out in the rooms, and across parts of the resort. The buffet is hugely disappointing, with not much selection and pretty abysmal food, unless it is freshly put out. The night before checkout, we asked for this bill. This was the resorts biggest shortcoming. There is no electronic system for billing, so everything uses paper. This seems like a large factor towards the hotel overcharging us, at first, by around 16,000 Egyptian pounds. We then had to go through each item on the bill, which took over 2 hours, and meant we spent pur last evening in the hotel going through a bill. At the start of our stay, again at reception, we had to queue for around an hour and a half, and we arrived before the easyjet coach. Overall, the resort does have good facilities, however needs investment and in my opinion a large refurbishment to live up to its claim of 5 stars

The hotel and grounds are beautiful and rooms are spacious. Pools are lovely. Breakfast buffet had a lot of options. Great value for money. Special thanks to Lorna at reception who was very helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice hotel, great dining options, rooms are big and connected rooms are great for families. Rooms are clean, well served and beds are firm. The kids loved the pool and small Zoo. The location on the Nile is very atmosphere and makes for lovely vista. The reception staff at times were too busy with check in to assist with day to day queries. I checked in with a family, yet was assigned a room a long way from the kids pool and dining areas. The resort is large so walking from rooms to facilities, is a consideration. We eat in the bar one night and had to ask several times for our meals to be served correctly (as per menu) and even for place settings. However breakfast and the other restaurant were well presented and enjoyable. The hotel is located outside Luxor so factor in taxis (250-400 EP) as walking is not possible.

We had a day trip from Hurghada to Luxor via MTB travel guides that arranged an overnight stay at Jolie Ville. We can hand on our hearts say that the pictures we looked at online before MTB shared the overnight accommodation truly underestimate how breath taking this hotel really is. From food, to views and location itself - breathtaking would be an absolute understatement. The buffet spread had a reasonably sized selection in comparison to our other hotel, and felt the falvours and quality of food exceeded 5* quality based on other 5* ratings we have eaten at in Egypt this far. The Dulux room we stayed was spacious, and the interior within felt luxurious, airy and clean. Furthermore, the locations and views from with are quite remarkable. When our transfer drove over the little bride, on to ISLAND over the River Nile, we were blown away with the fact we can officially say we "have slept" on the River Nile without paying on an expensive river cruise. The gardens onsite are really well maintained, with a lot of grass and flowers. After living on sand of 6 days prior, it was really nice to walk through very well maintained outdoor space to see the local plants and wildlife at the other end of the spectrum in Eygpt. Rather than returning to Hurghada for x1 day before our trip to Ciaro, we asked the hotel to stay for one night with a view room over the River Nile. The side of the hotel has it's own little path where you can enjoy the sun set over the Nile and could see the balconies were very spacious and could not resist a cold tipple in peace at sunset the and a little more homemade fresh food. They also have an outdoor heated pool which is great for low seasons, and carts to get around the complex which we was very grateful for throughout. The inside pub had a really nice range of spirits, compared to the common local sourced supply, and felt very modern and almost like being in a pub back home. The complimentary crips and nuts were tasty and a nice touch too. We would highly recommend as experience within itself, not just a hotel. I don't know what more I can say that I haven't said in my past 7 visits. It is the most magical place ❤️I think reading through some of the reviews people's expectations of a 5 star hotel there has to be glitz and glamour. What you do get at the Jolie ville is the most amazing location, offering peace and tranquility, fabulous attentive service by everyone. Whether this is the gardener's, cleaners, waiters, guest relations, just everybody! The people become your family. Yes, it's probably a bit tired in places but even the plushest 5 star hotels have that. I wouldn't trade in what you get here for anything. The spa is also fantastic. Yes they do come round to ask if they can tempt you to any treatments but they are worth every penny. Just treat yourself and really relax. Just enjoy and get away from it all. Many repeat guests so they are doing everything right ❤️

We stayed at Jolie Ville in Luxor for seven days as a couple on our honeymoon, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The spa and massage treatments were wonderful — relaxing, professional, and a highlight of our trip. The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely surroundings that create a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were always smiling, polite, and exceptionally welcoming, making us feel comfortable from the very first moment. The food was very good, with a nice variety of both savory dishes and desserts. We especially enjoyed the overall ambiance of the resort, which was calm, romantic, and perfect for a honeymoon stay. In summary, we had an excellent stay, and we would happily return. Highly recommended!
