Verjus: The Acclaimed San Francisco Wine Bar Is Coming Back After a Four-Year Closure | Eater SF

"I'm watching Alameda’s highly anticipated Jollibee at Alameda Landing, set to debut in the later half of September; the Filipino fast-food chain is famous for its ultra-crispy fried chicken, and this will be the eleventh Bay Area location. Notably, the chain still has no locations in San Francisco proper despite fan demand — a separate San Francisco location has been in progress at a former Payless shoe store at Market and Fifth streets since 2020, but progress appears to have slowed and there’s been no update." - Justine Jones

I saw in the email that they were serving Korean BBQ fried chicken and decided to give it a try. We also got six pieces of spicy fried chicken in case we didn't like the Korean BBQ flavor. The Korean BBQ flavor was alright; it was flavorful, but did not hit the spot for some reason. Their spicy friend chicken tasted great as always. The only downside was that we ordered two buckets of fried chicken, but they only gave us two napkins in the bag.

Google
The chicken quality has dipped a little but still tastes good. The Katseye collab was a little spicy and underwhelming. I love Jolibee’s but charging for side condiments can really kill the vibe. Download the app for points back! Their points system is pretty decent.

Google
First time eating here and it was solid. Really can't compare the taste. I ordered a 2 piece mix chicken joy combo with mashed potatoes and fries as sides. The spicy chicken is actually spicy btw🔥

My first time stopping at this place to grab a quick bite… spicy deluxe chicken sandwich was amazing! Pineapple juice and fries a must! Definitely coming back for more!

It seems like they switched to a system with a display screen rather than a buzzer for orders. When I got there they said that the wait would be around 20 - 30 minutes to complete. I took a walk outside of the store thinking it would take at least 20 minutes as a result. When I got back, I saw that my order was still pending. But after waiting past the 30 minute mark I went and checked if my order was ready. It took a bit to flag down an employee to ask (everyone seemed to turn their eyes away) but when I finally got to ask, the employee seemed to be defensive, insisting that she was calling my number multiple times, saying the order was done for a while. In that case why does the display show that my order was still pending? Yes, I should have just gone up to ask to see if my number had been called yet, even if everyone was very busy. But if you aren't going to use the system why have it? Not to mention the 4 piece chicken tender had the smallest 4 pieces I've ever seen.

This is for the to-go order. We ordered online, and it was ready within 20 minutes. What we ordered: Bucket Treat B: $41.99 6pc Bucket Chickenjoy with large gravy Spaghetti Family Pack 3 Peach Mango Pie Everything was delicious. Would go back again.

Google
The store is still fairly new so they appear not to have rolled out a full menu of items yet. Most of the choices revolve around fried chicken or spaghetti at this time. The fried chicken was actually quite good. The place is popular and may be crowded at popular times. Plenty of nearby parking as Target is nearby.

First time here was fun, its nearby shopping areas and the food was really fresh. They have an indoor and outdoor seating sections. Tables are clean and the kitchen area is well maintained and clean as well.

Yelp
Came here two days in a row First day experience - service was poor Food delivery was 20 minutes with no explanation, but the spicy chicken sandwich was on fire Came again with co workers who is their fan Had the kbbq chicken - saucy and good , it's sweet but needs an extra kick. The pineapple quench was a surprise. Not what I expected very fruity and fresh. It redeems itself after all.

Yelp
Hello Jollibee, Alameda! I was in the area and exploring the options around me for dinner when I came upon this location ~ I was SO excited because it's not everyday I get to indulge in a little bit of Filipino comfort food. The Vallejo location is a bit far for us, so this was the perfect moment to truly enjoy + also take a few things home for the fam. We went with Chicken Tenders served with the Signature Tender Sauce (FYI this is a great dipping sauce and topper for breakfast eggs too!), the 2pc Chickenjoy with Jolly Spaghetti, the Pineapple Quencher, Peach Mango Pie, side of Baked Cheddar Mac N Cheese, and side of Mashed Potatoes. To be honest, the family loved every moment of it! I'm not sure if Jollibee always had such a wide selection of chicken sandwiches on their menu, but would love to come back another time while I'm in the area to give one a try. Pricing is fair, plenty of street parking and parking within the shopping center, and to note..they don't like to create waste as they near their evening closing, so they make to order! This seems to be the spot to be ~ it was def. poppin with a mix of different aged groups. Fun service, hit the spot!

Yelp
Just delicious! I am always so jealous of places that have Jollibee... hopefully getting one soon in MA? Haha. We always make it a point to stop by for some chicken from Jollibee whenever we're in CA. We actually had just left a wedding and looking for more food... luckily we were able to order online for pick up, right before closing time! Love, love getting a bucket of their chickjoy chicken, all spicy, w/ mashed potatoes + gravy, and some pies! UBE & peach mango pies are TOO good. It's located in a pretty new & nice looking shopping area in Alameda. This was the best late night snack ;)) I'm not usually even a fan of fried chicken but Jollibee just does it differently, OKAY!

Yelp
I've been here 3 more times since my first review after the Grand Opening. And I don't get all the bad reviews now. Each time, the chicken is as sublime as ever, always with that irresistibly delicate crunch and a tenderness that permeates every mouthful. It seems most of the down reviews are because of the service. Complaints of slow orders or ones with mistakes. But I've always had great service and perfect orders. Granted, I do come at later hours to avoid the meal time rush. But I think it can be expected if orders take quite a bit longer or more mistake prone if there are longer cues. Which is why I don't visit during those times. Each time I do come, the chicken not only arrives fast, but it's handed over at the pick-up area by a very eager manager or monitor, who is quick to grant any of my special requests: Hot sauce packs and honey packs. Also, the last time, it was the end of the night, and only smaller pieces were left, so they gave me four pieces for my three piece order. That's creative customer service! I always sit down to chow down on a piece even if I had planned to take it home, because the freshly fried, steaming hot bite is too irresistible. And even if it's cooled down some after I take it home, it's still mouth-boggling. I'm already thinking of my next visit. But my waistline warns me to wait for visit number 4. My tummy says why wait when you can simply add it to the list of Thanksgiving and Christmas meals I will promise to work off for my 2026 year resolution? Boy, that tummy can be a sneaky little devil...

Yelp
My partner and I love Jolibee as it happens to be the predominant Filipino fast food chain in the world it seems. From some of the best fried chicken you can get at a fast food establishment, to Filipino comfort foods like palabok and the signature sweet spaghetti, Jollibee covers a fast food niche that other joints don't offer. However, when it comes to the Bay Area, there has been a large area encompassing Richmond, Berkeley, Oakland, San Leandro and even Walnut Creek that has not been blessed with the presence of ChickenJoy wafting through the air - until this past year when Jollibee opened up in Alameda. We have come multiple times since it opened, the first being the grand opening where we just missed out on some free merch - partially because the instagram post was pretty confusing about how many people would get the free merch and the instructions on what one would have to do to be eligible for it through the app (which still to this day doesn't work 50% of the time). The chicken and jolly spaghetti is always pretty good - same as other locations. Recently also tried the Katseye KBBQ collab and while it was a good chicken sandwich, the sauce is... interesting to say the least. Very sweet, and gives some hints of that gochujang flavor but is definitely not on par with any Korean Fried Chicken places. The sauce also cancels out the best part of the Jollibee experience which is the crunch of the chicken! One last thing thing that is a massive disappointment is that this location has a limited menu, with no items such as my personal favorite, hamburger steak with mushrooms. For such a prime location in Alameda, it sucks that one must still venture out to Vallejo or Hayward or San Francisco just to try their full menu offerings.

Yelp
Stopped by for a late night munch with my bf last week! We wanted to try their cheeseburgers, which I think they call 'Yumburger'. It's a decent size & less than $8 each! The buns are more yellow in color than a traditional burger bun, perhaps an egg bun. It's so soft & slightly sweet which goes great with the fresh veggies and juicy patty. This Jollibee location is always very clean and feels very spacious compared to other locations. The tables are spread out slightly further from each other than other locations I've been to. They also have a patio seating area so you can dine with your dogs! Of course we got a bucket of chicken to share as well. Spicy, which is the best way to order it! It was crunchy, not too oily, and just the right amount of spice. This location does not offer palabok or halo halo yet. They were also sold out of the Mac and cheese. I have yet to try the Mac and cheese since they have been sold out every time I've visited here. Maybe next time!

Yelp
Jollibee is my favorite place for fried chicken and I always order the spicy chicken with palabok. I was really disappointed that this location doesn't even offer palabok. I've never been to a Jollibee that didn't have it. The service was also a letdown. This was my first time here and unlike other locations that are usually packed, there was no line when I came at noon and no one waiting for food. I stood at the register while a girl was there doing something but she never acknowledged me. After about two minutes, someone finally came out from the back to take my order. The kitchen had plenty of people working but no one up front helping customers. Between not having palabok and the poor service, I don't plan on coming back. I'll stick with the Hayward and Union City locations.

Yelp
First time I noticed this location which is right across Yogurtland so it was a easy decision to get a quick meal for dinner tonight. I walked in and it is spacious and clean. Service was attentive and I ordered the 6 piece bucket with a $5 off $10 reward coupon on the app. My first time here did not disappoint! The chicken was piping hot and skin of the chicken drumstick I tasted was light and crispy!

Yelp
Not bad, busy and a bit too noisy. The food quality is always super tasty, not too greasy and certainly not too dry. The sides are always my favorite (go for the the pies)! First time taking grandma to this place and still bring her back.

Yelp
Andrea served us at the counter and was super friendly and helpful, making great suggestions for what my brother and I should get. We came right after the nearby flea market and were pleasantly surprised to see Jollibee open early in the morning. We ordered the Treat Meal A, which came with a generous variety of goodies. The dark meat chicken was especially delicious, crispy and juicy with a fresh taste. We also appreciated the option to upgrade to pineapple juice for just 50 cents more. The place was clean, the staff had everything ready to go, and the whole experience felt warm and welcoming. A perfect stop after a morning out.

Yelp
I have been curious about this place for a long time. I don't usually eat fast food but I got off work late and wasn't super hungry so I decided to stop in. It was around 9pm on a Friday and it was super busy so that seemed like a good sign. I decided to get the Korean bbq chicken sandwich. It didn't say what was on it but when I took my first bite it was bursting with flavor! It had a nice balance of sweet/spicy bbq flavor. It came with cilantro, red onions and cucumber. It was totally delicious!!! Messy but so worth it!!!

Yelp
Chicken is well seasoned, crispy and... moist. Service is excellent. People actually dine in, too! The chicken didn't make me feel gross like other fried chicken chains. Restroom was relatively clean (in this restaurant anyway).

Yelp
I've been having my meal delivered uber eats and not satisfied with the service. I was nearby and dined in. It was 1:30pm and not too many guests in line or seated. Everyone of the staff were hustling, however the service was slow. After I ordered I unstood why. There were so many pick up orders ahead of mine. Despite the wait, it was well worth it. My chicken was hot and delicious. Crispy outside and oh so moist with every bite. I'll always dine in. The store is well kept. And the meal was fabulous!

Yelp
Cut and pasted from their website: "Jollibee is a Filipino restaurant best known for its fried chicken, burgers & pies." Quality/Quantity - This is not the "same" Jollibee I remember from back in the day in Daly City?!?! I do not remember the menu being so chicken focused. And because it was almost all deep fried chicken, I decided to skip my lunch here and only get the chicken for my daughter. Which she liked. Two piece chicken with spaghetti. Atmosphere - Good size location, both indoor and outdoor seating. Clean bathrooms, not sure if all the dispensers were working...? Soap, paper towel, etc. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 9am or 10am to 10pm. Service - Good. Events, fundraisers; see website. Price - $13.20; in my opinion expensive for what she got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1978 with your 103 stores in North America and 1700+ stores worldwide.

Yelp
Still one of my faves. Their rice is one of my faves. Fried chicken - still so solid. Gravy is more watery then I'm used to - it's cool not solid.

Yelp
$27! We decided to eat on site instead of bringing it home. Omg! We were there on a Friday at noon, there was a line but the fried chicken was hot and juicy!! Juicy!!! So good!!

Yelp
I had never been to a Jollibee, and I'm even Asian. But the reality is the stateside expansion of this popular Filipino-based chain has been fairly recent. I only paid attention when l noticed several young YouTube vloggers were getting overly excited about the fried chicken here in their relentless quest for more subscribers. Not that the Colonel and I are on intimate terms, at least since my self-indulgent youth, but the prospect of their so-called Chickenjoy appealed to me. The Alameda location was kinda on the way back from an errand I had to make in Oakland, so I thought I'd surprise Jamie W with dinner in a bag. I was early enough to avoid what I presume are the constant queues here. I ordered the $19.99 6-Piece Chickenjoy Bucket Meal Deal with Two Sides, Jolly Spaghetti and Jolly Crispy Fries. Shades of KFC! First off, a word to the wise...don't bother ordering fries to go (photo: https://yelp.to/6sKw3y1kni). They were stone cold by the time I got them home. However, the Fried Chicken held up just fine. I was thrilled when I asked for dark meat and was told that's all they serve. No dried out breast for me. Just three thighs and three drumsticks in an actual bucket (photo: https://yelp.to/mKrIHR5JMw). I just went for the original crispy, and we thought it was delicious, especially with the thick gravy which made dipping inevitable. The Jolly Spaghetti was rather intriguing. It was pasta noodles with melted cheese and a rather sweet red sauce leavened by the presence of sliced hot dogs (photo: https://yelp.to/g7BCHVp20c). Honestly it reminded me of Franco-American Spaghetti-O's out of a can, but sue me, I used to like Spaghetti-O's. Still, the sweetness of the sauce didn't do much for me. I got a couple of the $2.99 Peach Mango Pies. They were similar to the fried ones you can get at Mickey D's only the tropical fruit flavor was more refreshing (photo : https://yelp.to/BzrjHhea35). So even though it was takeout, our first experience with Jollibee was largely a positive one. We may need our Chickenjoy again soon. FOOD - 4 stars...the Chickenjoy is joyful, the spaghetti is more an acquired taste AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...fairly spacious place in Alameda Landing SERVICE - 4 stars...smiling and quick TOTAL - 4 stars...dark meat fried chicken makes me jolly RELATED - Exploring Alameda? Yelp
I went up to visit some rellies in Alameda, and we all agreed upon Jollibee for takeout. I have been to many Jollibees in the US and the one in Rome, and the food is amazingly consistent. We enjoyed chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, fries, their sig spaghetti, and peach mango pies. Palabok and halo halo were surprisingly absent from the menu of this location. My nephew said Jollibee chicken is the best of all the chains, and I agree. It was moist inside, and the batter outside was nicely seasoned and crispy. Likewise, the fries were GBD and the gravy flavor was the same as all other locations I have been to. Thirdly, the spaghetti hit the spot as far as Flip spaghetti goes. If you have had the latter version you know the sauce is sweet, and there are small pieces of Flip hot dog. Lastly, after the feeding frenzy we enjoyed the pies in small pieces to savor the flavor. My nephew picked up the food and said the staff was nice, and the place was busy on a Sat around 1 pm. This location is fairly new and in a cool shopping center. I'm sure there is a lot of buzz about the place. Jollibee does an excellent job of maintaining their consistency around the globe. I can't wait to go to the Philippines and try their standard items, as well as some unique items to the PI.

Yelp
The long awaited Jollibee finally touched down in Alameda Landing. Since this is in the landing plaza, there's tons of parking. You might find parking on the street directly up front, but if you want to skip the looking, just park in the huge lot behind the restaurant. When you walk up, you'll be greeted by the iconic Jollibee. Enter through the patio (at least for now) to get to the beginning of the line. The new restaurant is beautiful and so big. The modern decor is really colorful and clean. Along with lots of indoor seating, it also has plenty of outdoor seating on the covered patio. When I got there on a Sunday night around dinner time, the line wasn't too bad. They've got lots of staff working to get things moving quickly. We browsed the menu while we waited in line and it was just enough time to decide what we wanted. The first thing that they still have to improve on is their numbering system. We were given a number on our receipt and on a buzzer. But when our order was called, they used a completely different number. In fact, one of the staff had to go around comparing receipts with everyone to find out whose order they were calling. The buzzer didn't even buzz when our order was ready. Sounds like it was a mishap with inputting the numbers in the system but it was definitely causing some confusion and inefficiency. The food itself was fine but there were some things that I've definitely had better at other Jollibees. - The gravy was more watery at this location, less thick. - The spaghetti didn't have as much sauce on it and it was a little less tender. The noodles were more tough and the same can be said for their Mac and cheese. - I don't know if I've seen Mac and cheese at other Jollibees - it tastes similar to KFCs but more cheesy. - The fries we got were not fresh, warm and not hot, like they had been sitting out. - The chicken was good but the ones at the bottom were soggy and not at all crispy because of all the grease that must've pooled. Overall, still learning, more improvements to be made. I'll come back in the future but probably after they've figured stuff out first.

Yelp
Jollibee has many restaurants throughout the SF Bay Area. The restaurant serves traditional comfort food with a Filipino influence. The Alameda location is in the newer part of town on the West End and is in a growing community of new townhomes, condominiums, and tightly situated upright single family homes. It's a cute area that is close to the old US Naval Air Station and its various breweries, start-ups etc... Well what do they serve? JB serves your American comfort food like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, flavored rice, burgers, sandwiches, spaghetti, a pie similar to McD's apple pie but in Mango. Yeah, somewhat traditional but slightly different to attract people wanting something different but not overly different to scare people away. So what do you mean? Well, the fried chicken is served with a brown gravy which many people dip their chicken into. We ordered a half spicy, half original with the latter being crispy and conducive for gravy dipping. The gravy reminded me of packaged Lawry's brown gravy and needed some spice to it. We had two sides with our fried chicken order - Adobo Rice which was bland and mushy as heck, and Spaghetti which is a sweetened version with a few slices of sausage, the sweet version reminded me of Spaghetti of my Asian youth where parents would use ketchup as flavoring instead of stewing tomatoes or using stewed tomatoes as a base. Not good or bad, but just different. JB is a passable alternative to KFC, Krispy Crunchy, or Korean FC for chicken but I'd prefer a gravy accompaniment with more spice to it, same for the Adobo rice - more spice to it. The spaghetti can stay as it reminded me of my childhood. Overall, I would prefer items with more spice and not toning it down for the Western palette. Also where are the more traditional Filipino foods?

Yelp
2670 5th St Pad A Alameda, CA 94501 (At Alameda Landing) This is a review for the new Jollibee restaurant at the Alameda Landing Shopping Center in Alameda's West End. Jollibee is located across the parking lot from the Target store. I was there on a cloudy Sunday at 12 noon. I met up with fellow Yelp Elite Carol C. for lunch, and to share opinions and thoughts about this Jollibee. As we walked in, there were only two customers ahead of us and a few people behind us. I thought it was nice that it wasn't too busy, and there were plenty of tables available. My cashier/ order taker was very patient and polite. She listened carefully and took my order. Service Grade (5/5). My order taker encouraged me to try more things, but I just ordered: - 2 pc Chicken Joy (Orig) + Jolly Spaghetti - Mango/Peach Pie - Pineapple Quencher ---------------------------------- Total w/ tax= $20.46 Yes, the food was a little pricey. But I wanted to try menu items people seem to be raving about. After you pay, they give you a black device known as a "restaurant pager." When it buzzes and lights up, your food is ready for pickup. I think we waited about 5 mins. By 12:30, a long line formed and the place got busy fast. The inside dining room filled up, with some tables available outside on the patio. How was the food? Fried Chicken, 2 pcs, Leg & Thigh: You can believe the hype, this fried chicken is excellent! OMG! Eat it fresh, don't wait to get it home! Light crispy crust, seasoned just right. The meat is juicy, tender, and well marinated. Grade (5/5) Jolly Spaghetti, Grade (3/5): I have eaten Filipino Spaghetti before, so I knew what to expect. But this spaghetti reminded me of the pasta they used to serve us in our junior high school cafeteria. It was okay, but I won't order it again. Pineapple Quencher is a sweetened pineapple drink. Price $3.49. Mango/Peach pie is a delicious deep fried fruit pie. Price $2.99. Overall, a great first time here. When I return I might try the burgers, or just get a bucket of chicken with biscuits. MISC Notes: - Chicken in meals are all dark meat. - Some parking spots are very close to restaurant.

Yelp
Jollibee opened where Spin! Pizza once was years ago. Inside & outside dining available. Line pre-noon short. Less than 10 serviced by 2 cashiers. Quick service. Jollibee is Philippines fast food with distinct Philippines flavors/cooking techniques enjoyed by the Philippine diaspora world wide. Offerings: chicken sandwiches, pies, sides, burgers, chickenjoy combos/buckets, jolly spaghetti, drinks. Eats: 2 piece chickenjoy with side/biscuit (9.49) -order at counter, pd, food ready in 10ish minutes. -lst impression: tastes better than years earlier, no msg tasted. -thin crispy fries lukewarm, not too crispy. Innards not tastable. Didn't travel well. -crispy skin yes, chickenjoy meat tenderness, moist, semi-juicy abid flavor neutral. -gravy light flavor, sodium laden. Guessing this adds flavor to chickenjoy. -biscuit it is. Ok. Seldom eat so no opinion. Peach Mango pie (2.99) -tastes better the McD's apple pie, pricier. Has light sweetness probably from peaches, not mango. 4.5 stars: chickenjoy, fries not at peak quality. Food best eaten asap. October is Filipino American History Month

Yelp
Service is somewhat slow compared to other locations. Loud music, hard to hear the server. Chicken is smaller, way too small. And probably been in the warmer for sometime. Skin isn't that crispy anymore. What can we do, we're hungry. But it's jollibee, so that's that. No ube pie, yet. No palabok, or fiesta noodle. We'll still eat here as it's jollibee, lol.

Yelp
Date: 10/27/2024 Time: 12 PM. 63° Partly sunny Jollibee had its grand opening on October 11, 2024. I chose to wait until the excitement and the long wait in line dwindled down some. Fellow yelper, Steve D, and I agreed to meet here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon (12 PM) to share our views/opinions on food, service and ambiance. Wait time wasn't long. There were two people ahead of us. However, the line was long when we were about halfway through eating. Eats: 2 pc. chicken joy and a side. My choice of side was a biscuit. Unfortunately, they ran out of b-b-b biscuit. I opted for the French fries and a serving of mac 'n cheese ($1.50 extra). A small tub of gravy was included with the meal. Okay, I am not a fried chicken and gravy person. It's nothing like having some syrup with that crispy fried chicken. Yep, I brought in my personal stash of sugar free syrup to enjoy with that c-c-c chicken. LOL (4 star) The French fries were on point - crispy on the outside, texture is soft and tasty on the inside. Best thing on those fries - they are greaseless. Watch out Micky D's, as Jollibee is going to give you a run for the money. I dipped my fries in the gravy, which is not quite the same as poutine or disco fries. (3.5 star) The mac 'n cheese was too cheesy to my liking. It was edible, nothing to write home about it. Smoked gouda cheese would have enhanced the mac 'n cheese. (3 star) I had a few bites of the peach mango pie ($2.99). Wow! The pie is absolutely delicious. It reminds me of the apple pie from Micky D's, but far much better. The peach/mango blend in a pie is bomb-diggity great. (4.5 star) Beverage: Brisk raspberry tea, which I normally have for breakfast elsewhere. Tea is tea. Fellow yelper had the 2 pc. chicken joy with the Jollibee spaghetti. I have to laugh as the spaghetti reminded him of spaghetti served in a school cafeteria. Then there is hot dog in the spaghetti, which is not my cup of tea. Spaghetti also had a sweet taste. Nope, I prefer savory, garlicky and spicy spaghetti. Based on my observation, the texture of the spaghetti looked more al dente than fully cooked. Service was prompt despite the wait in line. The drawback is the amount of space in this fast food restaurant for the number of customers dining indoor. There is outdoor dining in the patio area. Ambiance is casual and comfy and good for family dining. By the exit door are three bins for recycling, compost and landfill. Please bus trays to area by the exit door. Yelp
I was really excited to try Jollibee near my house. But the items that I was excited for were not here, palabok and the ube pie. I tried their chicken sandwiches and jolli spaghetti. Spaghetti was sweet and with hot dogs which I liked. Mac and cheese was a little overcooked and no texture. Adobo rice was yum in flavour. My favourite was the pineapple drink but just wish it was in a larger cup. The inside is spacious with big tables. There's an exterior seating area as well. The staff service is very nice. 4 rating instead of 3. Now I understand that certain locations habe different things but I got sad with no palabok fiesta...oh and it's a bit pricey.

Yelp
I should probably take photos of my order next time I eat here. I've eaten here probably 6 times since they opened. Last time I lived near a jollibee, there was always a 45 minute line. So this is a blessing. My go to order is the 2 piece, with adobo rice. I dip everything in gravy. Big back activities, I'm well aware. But you do what you gotta do to take that train to flavor town, am I right? I love jollibee because it's always consistent. I'd say best fast food chicken. Fight me if you want. So happy to have this location.

Yelp
First time going to this Jollibee! I love Jollibee, so I was happy to see this location in Alameda. The menu seemed a little short of a few items, but the chicken/spaghetti are still there. I ordered one spaghetti, pineapple juice, and mango pie. They were fantastic! The wait was a bit long, but they were busy for a Saturday night. The restroom was a bit disappointing. The parking outside was great. I will come back again!

Yelp
Ordered the 3 piece combo today. It was only 3pm on a Saturday and they already ran out of mac and cheese. So you can imagine the volume of orders they've had. So I ordered the fries instead, which were skinny (almost shoestring sized cut) yet had a nice crispiness to then. Tried the spicy version of their fried chicken today and I was impressed, crunchy crispy batter with moist chicken meat inside. The hot spice flavor was marinated throughout the meat. Also, get a membership or profile in their rewards program so you can earn points and coupons for your orders. (They also have a mobile app to download)

Yelp
Love this place. So glad it's here! We were the first people to order catering from them. They were able to accommodate an early pick up time and the food came out perfectly. My guests were happy!

Yelp
I came to try Jollibee for the first time on Friday for the Grand Opening at this Alameda location. The line was long, I waited about 45 minutes to order and get in the door. But I thought the ordering process and receiving the food worked out great. Since it was my first time, I ordered just about everything, here is the list with my score for each item: Spicy Chicken Joy 8/10 Spicy Chicken Sandwich 9/10 Aloha Yum Burger 6/10 Mashed potatoes 3/10 Mac n Cheese 7/10 Adobo Rice 6/10 Jolly Spaghetti 5/10 Biscuits 5/10 Mango Peach Pie 10/10 Pineapple Quencher 9/10 Fries 5/10 The menu was a little different, offering Mac n cheese instead of dishes like Palobok, the item I see at all the other menus in other locations. The employees were all great and friendly. Overall I liked my eating experience and will visit again.

Yelp
Takes 25 mins to make a deluxe burger. All of these orders are coming out before mine and it's not even busy! You guys have to do better!! As I'm writing this review I'm still waiting for the burger....

Yelp
Finally a Jolibee on the island! Came opening night - long, slow line. But all the workers were real nice and efficient. The restaurant is large and clean with both indoor and outdoor seating. For the grand opening they had a DJ outside and were selling some merch. Sorry, we're not that into Jolibee. The food was typical Jolibee. Fried chicken skin was cripsy and the inside meat was tender. Dip it in the gravy - soooo good. Mash and gravy also good. Probably gonna be a regular stop for us.

Yelp
I came here on grand opening day 2 around 10:40AM. My family and I stood in line for about 10ish minutes before we could get into the store to order. They are extremely busy for grand opening but all the staff were extremely nice and polite as they could see the amount of people waiting for their food. They had a live DJ as well as merch for sale outside their store when I was there. I ordered the A family meal which comes with 6pc chicken with two large sides and gravy for $19.99. We sat inside and waited around 15 mins to get our food - not bad for the amount of people ordering buckets and buckets of chicken. Chicken was crispy and fresh. I wouldn't order the mash potatoes again as it was somewhat chunky and dense. The store was neat and clean. Staff immediately cleaned spills and tables after customers ate.

Yelp
The restaurant is new. Service is very slow. Fried chicken, which comes with gravy on the side, is decent. Spaghetti, with sausage and a mild sweet sauce, is also decent. It's a solid option to satisfy your hunger.

Yelp

Yelp
LOVE JOLLIBEE Chicken!!! Only thing my kids ever wants to eat! So glad they finally opened a new location in the east bay in Alameda Landing plaza in Alameda City. Would love for it to have a drive thru but hey can't win them all. =D Seems like their menu is smaller compared to other locations. Not sure if it's due to grand opening day that they weren't serving the full menu. I didn't see the clear glass noodles with orange sauce there and there no was dessert selection other than the 1 peach pie. Hopefully they'll expand to their full menu soon. Chicken was delicious! Best in town! Very flavorful and juicy! Dip it in the grave wax even more amazing! Staff were amazing, friendly and quick!

Yelp
The long-awaited Jollibee finally opened! I went on the 4th day after its opening date. I ordered online pick up and it took 75 mins to get my order! The line outside the door wasn't even that long so I'm not sure why it took that long. I went 2 weeks later and it only took 20 mins for my online pick up. The first time I went, I got 2 orders of 6pc chicken joy with 2 sides (mashed potatoes and 1 jolly spaghetti). The second time I went, I got 2 orders of 6pc chicken joy with 2 sides (mashed potatoes) and a Jolly Spaghetti family pack. They forgot 2 of my mashed potatoes. Luckily, I checked before leaving. The chicken was good with the gravy. The mashed potatoes were tasty. However, the spaghetti wasn't that great. The noodles were stuck together and, for some reason, seemed a little gritty. Overall, this location is okay. I'm disappointed that it's not as good as the other locations in the bay. Also, they don't have palabok here. They just opened so, hopefully, they'll improve and add more items to the menu!

Yelp
I usually love Jollibee's It's great bang for the buck food that's really flavorful I'm not giving them 3 stars for the food. The food is solid. The service unfortunately is lacking. Today was the second time we ordered ahead using their website, received notification that our food was ready, only to show up and have to wait for the order to be fixed. On one hand, props to them for checking, on the other I do wish they'd check before they send you the confirmation your order is ready.

Yelp
Haven't had Jollibee in a minute. Needed something convenient, quick, cheap, and tasty after not eating until 4pm this day. Rolled up, ordered from the counter, and was given a pager that would go off when the order was ready. Four of us so we got the smallest bucket, two sides of spaghetti, and a chicken sandwich. Chicken sandwich was actually fire; super juicy meat and nice crispy skin. Same with the chicken itself. Love me a thigh piece. Everyone raves about the spaghetti, and I've had it before. It's good and unique, given that it's like a banana ketchup sauce that makes it sweeter, but not as impressive as the chicken. If I was out dinking though and needed a carb refuel, this would be it. Always impressed that Jollibee is quite consistent on the product they offer.

Yelp
Why only 3 stars? They have the best fried chicken in the bay area! It's very tender and juicy! Also the peach mango pie is surprisingly good!

Yelp
Jollibee is Jollibee, but this location isn't so great with my two visits so far. The first time, I ordered via their app (which offers zero deals--come on, if you make me install your crappy app, at least offer me some deals...), and my meal was not ready by the time it was supposed to. Also no straw or ketchup was included in my bag. I had to go back in and ask. My next visit was mostly uneventful, except I wanted to eat outside and the doors to the outside area, which are clearly marked "THESE DOORS ARE TO REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS", were locked. I had to go and ask a cashier if the outside eating area was closed. They said it was not and stared blankly at me when I asked if they could unlock the doors. This was a good 2-3 hours after they'd opened for the day.

Yelp
I'm happy that we have Jollibee close to home. I know they get busy here like everyday. I just have to check my order because I had experience 3 times different days they got my order wrong n its when I just got off work n my daughter want some Jollibee n I went on a rush hour not mad and the manager apologize and corrected the problem and I was thankful. It's not a big deal but if thats other customer they might not like that service. There my peeps lol n it's all good they still give us excellent service, area are very clean n well maintained staff are very nice n helpful. Thank you to all the staff for their hard work. Food are always excellent like always, hopefully they start selling Palabok soon :)

Yelp
I came by with a group of 6 friends for some Jollibee and my friend got a 12 piece meal to share. I'm glad that they have spicy back because last year they were out of spicy for awhile and only had original. The spicy version really isn't spicy at all. Some of my Filipino friends equate Jollibee to Filipino fried chicken of Popeye's. But I definitely think it's better than Popeye's! Order at the counter and wait for your order. The staff were nice when picking up the order. Nice to have a Jollibee in east bay so people don't have to go to Union City for their fried chicken fix. Clean restaurant/restrooms Indoor/outdoor seating available Plenty of parking around the plaza

Yelp
This location needs to do better. How are you going to take 15 minutes to assemble my order and still give me cold fries? And mid warm chicken Workers need to be retrained and stop being sloppy

Yelp
So happy they opened a Jollibee a bit closer to Berkeley. Parking is easy since there is plenty of parking in the lot behind it and on the street. Usually, one of my go-to orders is the palabok, but they do not have the palabok at this location which makes me sad. I hope they add the palabok!! I usually just get their yum burger with cheese and sometimes their spaghetti. Of course, it's always delicious. I tried their mac and cheese and it was okay. It was creamy, but it could get tiring to eat after a while if you are eating it by itself. There was a lot of missing menu items so be prepared to adjust your order when you go.

Yelp
Jollibee has arrived in Alameda! This new location is in Alameda Landing across from Habit. I was here around 2pm on a Monday and a couple of customers were eating in and a couple were waiting for their to-go orders. The restaurant has a good sized dining room and tables in the outdoor patio. I've had their fried chicken a couple years ago at a potluck party but given the amount of food at the party, I don't recall how the chicken tasted. So this visit will give me a clear gauge. I opted for the 2pc Original Chickenjoy w/ Biscuit and the Jolly Crispy Fries for my side. You get a pager to pick up your food at the counter when it's ready. I was told you need to put the gravy on your fried chicken, which I did this time. It does enhance the flavor. The skin was crispy and leg and thigh pieces were moist. I can see why it is rated the top fast food fried chicken by USA Today. The fries were very crispy and the biscuit was good. They also have Jolly Spaghetti, chicken sandwiches and burgers. Should I try those next time or stick to their highly rated fried chicken. Just happy that Jollibee is in Alameda.

Yelp
As somebody who has been to the Philippines, I was excited to try this relatively new Alameda location however, I was disappointed to learn that this location not live up to the same good experience I had in the Philippines. My main issue is with the service, we had placed an online order previously, however when we arrived we learned that was it canceled, and that we would have to repay. They also force us to stand in line even though the order was already made which deviates from normative procedures when you order online. For example, usually you can go right to the cashier and pay if you previously made an online order which we did, however appears that the people running this loco are a bit uneducated about some of this basic stuff We were also in a time crunch because we had a gathering and so that affecting us and others in negligible but unnecessary way. Additionally, they were not very apologetic about the situation even though our order was already there and we had to wait like 15 minutes more. When I was in the Philippines, I was greeted with a warm smile from almost everybody in the kitchen, however, this wasn't the case at the Alameda location. The food was good, the chicken was pretty crispy and not greasy and the Filipino spaghetti spaghetti what was. The main things at this location that they need improve on is optimizing restaurant logistics as well as customer service.
