Kid Rock’s Broadway Bar Packs in Crowds, Receives Citation for COVID-19 Compliance Violations | Eater Nashville

"I noted that Jonathan’s Grille on Hwy 70 was cited over the weekend for being out of compliance with coronavirus-related public health orders; the citation requires a court appearance where fines are set and continued noncompliance could result in temporary closure, and Metro health officials reminded businesses of Phase Two restrictions on eating at bars and on dance floors." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Our first restaurant visit of the year and it set the bar high. We stopped by for a late lunch and the venue was busy, but we were greeted and seated very promptly by smiling and enthusiastic staff. This is a nice restaurant. It was clean, tidy and the furniture was all in good repair. Our server, Lacey, was very professional, but also pleasantly personable, which is a good indicator of standards and training. I ordered the crispy Brussels as an entree, followed by fried fish with fries, coleslaw and a salad. The portions were generous, the dinnerware was elegant and care had clearly been taken with the presentation which I thought was quite impressive. Above all, the food was fresh and delicious. The kitchen did a great job. Prices were a little higher than average and being almost full to capacity, the restaurant was a little noisy, but overall this experience was a cut above the usual and I congratulate the manager and staff on a job well done.

Just happened to stumble upon this place driving back up to Canada from Shreveport. As soon as I walked in two lovely ladies greeted me with a smile and happy greeting. My server (one of the ladies at the front door) was so good and cheerful. Wish I could remember her name but she was heading to Georgia (4 hours away) that night to take care of family matters. I ordered a couple of margaritas (really good) and a cowboy burger with onion rings. So tasty and totally hit the spot. Would definitely go back.

Went for dinner with six people. Service was quick and the food was good. My only kinda complaint was the wait time…we were told 30 minutes and after 45 minutes I went to check on the table and it still wasn’t ready. We waited outside a little bit longer before deciding to go wait inside. When we open the door the hostesses scrambled and we heard them say “oh, we gotta go clean their table” and they rushed off. Not sure how long the dirty table had been sitting there, but we hadn’t seen anyone leave the restaurant in a few minutes. They got the table quickly cleaned, and we were able to be seated and have a great dinner. Visiting from out of town otherwise we would be back!

Google
So glad we tried this place! Ordered the Hot Bacon Cheeseburger and though it wasn’t as juicy as I hoped, the pimento cheese made it good. We also ordered the Larry Bird chicken sandwich and it was great! Good deal on drinks during the day. Would definitely eat at again.

Google
Great ambiance and friendly staff. Fantastic wings and fries! The Buffalo chicken dip was good, not great, I wish it was baked! The Alfredo was yummy HUGE portions but the pasta was overcooked. The biggest let down were the drinks. The cucumber gimlet was refreshing but the margarita was not great and the cosmo was undrinkable, we left without finishing.

Everything was amazing. Love this place! Best food in town. Samantha is such a great server and very sweet. Thank you!

Google
Was our first time here. Wanted to celebrate my husband’s birthday so he picked this place because of the reviews it had online. However, we were hugely disappointed. I ordered the shrimp linguine. The menu mentioned the shrimp being blackened however that was not the case. My husband ordered the salmon bowl but she got him a shrimp bowl. Obviously, we didn’t want to wait for her to change the order. Also, my dish came with a side salad but that too was so wilted and stale and loaded with cheese . We left without dessert and an incomplete and utterly unhappy celebration. Don’t think we are coming back. Sorry guys but had to be honest.

Yelp
My father and I have been regular customers at the Bellevue location of Jonathan's Grille for over eleven (11) years. Over the past year, management implemented a fee--initially referred to as a "convenience fee," now labeled a "hospitality fee"--without proper notice or clear communication to patrons. This change was introduced quietly, without being listed on the menu or verbally mentioned by the waitstaff. The fee only appears on the check after the drinks and meal have been served and completed. While the amount is relatively small at approximately 3%--typically around $0.50 to $0.75 per person--the issue is not the cost itself, but the lack of transparency, respect, and ethical consideration. Management has provided several excuses for the fee that have zero regard for ethics, but the bottom line is that the decision to apply it without disclosure is deceptive. In my view, it reflects a complete disregard for customer trust and loyalty. I have never encountered a similar practice at any other restaurant or chain in my lifetime. I am disappointed, I feel insulted, and above all, I feel disrespected. Because of this unethical turn, I will not buy any more gift cards or return to Jonathan's for the remainder of the year and probably longer. I strongly encourage others to support businesses that operate with honesty and integrity. Many excellent restaurant/bar alternatives exist in the Greater Nashville Area that treat their customers with the respect they deserve.

Yelp
We were surprised to have 2 beers show up when we went on a Friday, not knowing they have a 2 for 1 special so that was a pleasant surprise. The bar/restaurant is a bit loud but a great place to mingle. Food is not the best all just missing some flavor but fine for just hanging out and grabbing something. The spinach dip needed some cream cheese it was very watery and not great. Mozzarella sticks needed some seasoning or something in breading. The fettuccine was very chicken stock flavor vs Parmesan. Food prices a bit high for being very plain. Services was great, our waitress was very attentive and on top of it!

Yelp
Had a good dining experience, came in late on a weeknight and it was pretty empty. Our server was super nice and quick. Food was solid. The Philly sandwich with steak was excellent, fries were ok. We enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip, and although we just had water to drink there was a large selection, including seasonal drinks that looked good.

Yelp
My husband and I were passing through on our way home so I found this place on Yelp. It sounded really good so we decided to try it. We were traveling with our dog and saw that they have a patio so I asked if he could be on the patio. The server I asked said "Absolutely and we can even bring out a dog bowl." We ordered tea and decided to split the Firecracker Salmon Bowl and also ordered the Bam Bam Shrimp Eggrolls as a starter. I need to point out, like others have, that the menu is extensive with a wide variety. In spite of that, the salmon bowl jumped out at me right away. The egg rolls came right out and we were so glad we ordered them. They were delicious! They brought out our salmon bowl and an extra bowl. It looked fantastic and tasted just as good! We were glad we chose that entree. There was a slight breeze blowing so it was very pleasant on the patio. Our server, Sierra C, checked on us just the right amount of times. She was awesome! We're really glad we stopped here. We reco it wholeheartedly.

Yelp
Burgers all are all right they're just not up to my standards. Their steak is pretty solid. It has a nice crunch. servers always mixed. It's a good place to hang out. There wings are also amazing!

Yelp
Family atmosphere, diverse menu, and Sydney, the manager made sure we were happy with our wings! Delicious! Also, our favorite server is Bryce! Great place!!!

Yelp
This review is long overdue. We love every entree we've ordered at Jonathan's. We first tried them via takeout, then in person and fell in love! We've been back a handful of times and brought family from out of town to dine here. Tonight we came to eat at the bar. We order the Perfect Prime and the Horseshoe. Both entrees got the spot. We decided to try dessert, something we had never tried at Jonathan's before. This was a Mistake!! The Cookie Skillet was rock hard and crumbly and needed more ice cream than cookie with every bite. Needless to say, we were disappointed we Finally found something we didn't like at Jonathan's. It was a new item so I'm *hoping* the chef gets the feedback and learns to cook it for likely at least 25% less time. Since it's served in a cast iron little skillet, it may have kept cooking. Either way they need to account for it. Overall tho, we still give Jonathan's 5 Stars because we've enjoyed every visit and every plate with the exception of dessert and we have no intention of trying dessert at a sports bar!?...

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Okay, first of all, this place is loud when at full capacity. We try to go during off hours. But the staff is helpful and (mostly) attentive. The food is good, but it's such a large menu, it can be difficult to know what to order! We live in the area, and when we have a larger group that just our family, we find JG accommodating, setting up larger tables. So we keep it in our local restaurant rotation.

Yelp
Came here on a an out of town visit! Great fun choice, good people and delicious food!!

Marlin C.

Yelp
The food has been and continues to be good. The service is also good. The lower rating is due to the 3% hospitality fee they add to the bill. This is on top of taxes or tips. This stands if you pay cash. It used to cover credit card fees but not it is across the board. I still go there from time to time but have reduced my visits by about 80% because it just feels like they are nickel and dimming you as a customer. It is just irritating. I understand others may do it too but Jonathan's does not seem to care what their customers think. The only way to really get the point across is to simply stop going there. May have to stop all together.

Yelp
After the movies, we need a good meal. Saw that this place had great reviews and went to check it out for ourselves. Food was plentiful and delicious. The service was outstanding and the place seem to be a great spot to watch sports. The southwest eggrolls were amazing, I had the chicken tostada salad, and my girlfriend got the fire, cracker salmon. They are gracious with the amount of food and we had leftovers, which heated up and taste amazing as well. Will be back for sure! Loved the atmosphere too!

Yelp
My family did dinner here during a rainy Tuesday evening. Our waitress was Alyson (I hope I spelled that correctly). She was very sweet and attentive. This was my first time here and I was impressed with the variety on the menu and honestly struggled to figure out what to eat since all of the options sounded good. I finally landed on the Larry Bird sandwich with a baked potato. I added a tomato, lettuce, onion, pickle, and avocados. But the shining star was the potato. It was baked with a salt/pepper seasoning on the outer skin that kicked the favor up!! Deliciousness!! My mom ordered the fajitas and it made enough for 3 meals for her. But she said the chili was phenomenal and ordered a second cup. My sister had the spicy salmon bowl - it tasted like a yummy unwrapped sushi roll. My brother in law had a perfect prime rib sandwich with sweet potato fries. I only sampled the fries - so good. My niece had the fire roasted chicken with a cesar salad. Overall, she thought it was good but loved the salad!! My nephew had the garlic Parmesan wings (which I originally wanted but thought the cheese would get me later!) along with chicken tenders in the yum yum sauce. Overall it was a good meal, great waitress, and we are hoping to return soon!

Dave S.

Yelp
Overall most meals here are pretty good. Service is hit or miss. Today was a miss. Not sure I'll go back.

Michael M.

Yelp
Bartenders are overweight and unattractive. Could be overlooked if it wasn't coupled with being lazy, incompetent and rude. Rest of restaurant pretty solid though, never had a bad experience there outside of bar area.

Yelp
No frills sports bar vibe. This is more of a happy hour, sports and beer type of place. I would have said it was for the boys, but it seems there is always a mixed bag as far as the weekends go. It's never my first pick , but if I have a friend that wants to go there I know I can still find something on the menu that's good. I like how hearty the food is. The pizza, the burgers , the salads are all great. Of course with it being a bar, the service can be slow. It always takes a while to be greeted and for the food to come. Anytime a server has to keep up with alcohol orders for all of the tables it's going to take a while. So if you are really hungry I wouldn't suggest coming here and expecting to eat right away. The food has always tasted good when I got it and I have always had left overs. So if you have time to hang, make a night of it.
google avatar

Jaime R.

Yelp
Decent food overall with lots of options to choose from ranging for standard American fare to some less common options. There is something for everyone but everything feels fairly mediocre. I had a pretty good salad and the salmon rice bowl. The rice bowl was good and had a generous portion of salmon. I would say that it was a very satisfying meal overall. The restaurant was festively decorated for Halloween which was fun but it was pretty loud. The service was okay overall. The experience was nothing spectacular but suited our needs that evening.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday where it is happy hour all day. The beers are 2 for 1, the wine is double pour as well as the liquor drinks. Already, I'm in it to win it with this deal. The bam bam egg rolls were phenomenal and could have easily been my entire meal if I wasn't sharing with 1 other person. The fiesta wrap had such good flavors, from the tortilla strips to the corn medley to the wrap. The chicken caprese sandwich I did not try but there were no leftovers which is always a good sign. I will 100% be returning here whether it be a Tuesday or not because the deals are unbeatable. Yum!!

Wendee V.

Yelp
Good food. Friendly, prompt service. Easy, accessible parking. Our group was very happy with their food and drinks.

Michelle H.

Yelp
Food was very good Lemon Basil Chicken Skewers were delicious but the menu says tomato/cucumber salad which was barely present (delicious but almost absent) while there was a large amount of lettuce - I can't eat lettuce- it's not listed on menu or I would've told them to leave off and maybe add some extra tomato/cucumber salad. Hubs had JG Chicken wrap - very good. Service was slow and not overly attentive. Ambiance was good - put on ACC tourny which was great but with all the tournaments going on why soccer, golf and racing on multiple TV's...not during March madness Jonathan's, come on. I gave a 4 star because the food is always consistently good - but wow- 3 draft beers, a shareable and an entree with tip over $70 - yikes. Wish we could afford to come here more often but not at those prices.

Yelp
Food was pretty good here . I had chicken tenders and fries , side salad . My husband had the salmon bowl . Both were good . Service was fine , it was dinner rush hour the place was packed . Only thing that I didn't like was the floors look like someone pissed in the corners and all over the wall . I think they stained them to look distressed, but they look more like crud in the corners , other than that it was a fine experience. I'd go back .

Rebunked P.

Yelp
The best restaurant in Nashville! They are so friendly and accommodating for gatherings that we have there. I can't recommend it enough. Great food, great staff and I'm going to try to not eat anywhere else

L R.

Yelp
I enjoyed my food and my server but im bothered by the fact you charge me a fee to pay my bill with CASH. It feels unethical and almost like a scam! Why is someone paying a fee that you dont have to pay a fee on . I can see if it was a card transaction

Yelp
Jonathan's is a Great establishment! Great leadership, service, ambiance and events held here!

Yelp
This Jonathan's Grille location, which is 1-of-8 in Tennessee, with another located in Alabama, is situated on Highway 70 in Bellevue. It is a stand alone restaurant that sits in front of the large shopping complex that houses Petco, Planet Fitness, Dollar Tree and many other spots. Parking is never an issue here, as if the spaces that surround Jonathan's fill up, you have the massive lot supporting the shopping center to utilize! Jonathan's is a sports bar at its core. This is evidenced by the large amounts of TV's spread throughout the dining room and bar, sports and local décor, great happy hours and bar style food. None of those are bad things! While sports bar is the vibe here, it is not your average run down, dark and cheap sports bar. Jonathan's has a good dine-on vibe for a date night, family dinner or big game. We usually start our night at a table in the dining room or bar area for dinner and then belly up to the bar after we are done to enjoy a few 2-for-1 beers to close our night out! Food wise, Jonathan's serves a lot of your standard bar fare with a few house specialties. The food is not overwhelmingly fantastic and is not the sole purpose of our visits, but it is decent, well priced and portioned. Collectively we have tried the burger, flatbreads, pizza, wings, quesadillas, sandwiches and a few appetizers. The only disappointment we have experienced so far is the Buffalo Chicken Dip. While it was creamy, it was bland. The buffalo sauce was watered down and really only added color, I say this after we asked for additional buffalo sauce to mix in. It was basically a bowl of warmed cream cheese, chicken and blue cheese crumbles that was colored with the sauce. All the other food has been solid, no complaints! Service has been hit and miss for us sadly, as we seem to get better service when our table is in the bar area than we do in the dining room. The service is the dining room, no matter how many tables, is always slower than the bar area. And I don't mean slow in the actual sense, but they pay you less attention in that area it seems. And at least 2 out of our latest 4 visits, we had something wrong with out order from wrong side or something left on the sandwich that was requested to be left off. Overall, we really enjoy Jonathan's. While we have had a few issues, the staff are always friendly and helpful. Jonathan's has became a solid go-to neighborhood spot for us that we enjoy ourselves and also bring friends and family to when in town!

Erinn M.

Yelp
Incredible service for the group event last night! Staff was so helpful and friendly! great food and drinks. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
This place was a pleasant surprise. While visiting friends in town, we ate here on a Friday night with a large group; my expectations were set low, but I was impressed! The service was exceptional with friendly staff; there was not a single mistake made in our large group of about 15 people or more. We ordered the Fiesta Wrap with fries and the Bang Bang Eggrolls, and every dish was outstanding. The lettuce on the wrap was fresh variety lettuce rather than the cheap romaine or iceberg most places use. The sauces were great, the flavor was great, the shrimp and chicken were cooked perfectly, even the tortilla for the wrap was perfect. Additionally, this establishment offered a wide range of menu options, ensuring there's something for everyone. I am definitely looking forward to returning in the future!

Sydney C.

Yelp
The owner of all Jonathan's Grilles was EXTREMELY disrespectful to my mother. Not a specific location, just the owner in general in a different situation. You've lost all mine and my family's support.
google avatar

Jovan J.

Yelp
This place is an always a good go to, especially on the weekend. I have never had to wait for a table, I'm not sure if it's the time I go but the staff is always friendly and ready to seat me and help me out. The food itself is normally pretty good although not filling at times. Overall a solid place I'm glad I started going to.
google avatar

Marie W.

Yelp
JG was OKAY. It was recommended to us for their happy hour specials. Drinks were two for one and their happy hour appetizer list was pretty decent. The service was quite slow, but the bar area was very full for 330pm on a Thursday.
google avatar

Yelp
Came in around 4:30-5ish with my husband and saw the bartender yelling at a worker . It was very concerning considering guests were around eating , so I decided to leave because I did not want to be around that . Called in to let a manager know and spoke with Sydney because it bothered me and I wanted to make sure it was known and that the server was okay . I was assured that everything was handled and that they do not tolerate that at all and they sent the bartender home . I had my son go and pick up some food for us because I really enjoy their food and he assured me that the same bartender was in fact still there , I don't understand why I was being lied to or why they would accept their workers to disrespect other workers . Starting to rethink the environment there , I am hoping someone from higher up will see this and reach out . Very unnerving situation.

Yelp
Nashville native & local industry professional, former bar & restaurant manager here I came in last night around 10, went to the bar and ended up having to sit on the patio to take a call. Sara and Holly are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!! 100/10 across the board. Beer selection for the summer was so good, Sara had great recommendations, answered questions to match flavor pairing with a chilled house tequila shot. House selection is good not gonna lie! Let Sara know I needed to move to the patio but we still wanted to keep our bill with her. She went out of her way to check on us and communicate with her team to keep tabs on us too. Food was great as always, bam bam shrimp, chili like shrimp bowl, blackened chicken platter. Even the side of toast I ordered was so good. I had the Blackstone blueberry & my partner had the Tailgate strawberry lemonade shandy with a chilled house tequila shot. Bellevue Jonathan's is the only location I'll be frequent flying at. I have always liked Jonathan's but the Mount Juliet and Hendersonville locations service teams seem like they don't give a care. I frequented Spring Hill when I lived in the area and always liked watching games there and getting 2 for 1 beers. Service at Spring Hill was never bad. At Hendersonville, I had a server just stink eye stare at me our entire visit (didn't even serve us she was just lurking by the pos with the server that was in our section, who was great and sweet. We talked about Steve McNair and the titans ) but those two locations, they just half ass drag around there and don't care to provide much quality service. But the Bellevue location? 3 and a half stars is a disservice. Hoping the other locations step up on staffing, but Jonathan's is always a GREAT spot to go to if you want a good selection of good food and drinks!!! We'll be back especially to see Sara and Holly!!!

Yelp
Jonathan's is...fine. It feels a bit like a sport's bar meets neighborhood diner with a dash of fast casual restaurant in the mix. We didn't have to wait to be seated for long during the middle of the week for dinner, and our wait staff was pretty prompt considering the various parties there that night. We started with the chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer. They were decent but a bit overseasoned with strangely cooked celery (the texture was rubbery ). My significant other ordered Fajita Nachos, and I had Cajun Sausage pasta. Honestly, I found the cream pasta a bit bland for my taste, considering it was supposed to be Cajun inspired: pepper and paprika were a bit missed here. Honestly, I left a bit disappointed because the flavors were a bit lacking. However, service is great, and they have a pretty extensive menu of offerings if you're going with a large group. They also have a light night specialty menu, so definitely check that out if you're a night owl or prefer to watch a late night game in a more social setting.

Christian L.

Yelp
Daniel was such a great host. He set a party of 15 almost instantly with no reservation and he was so kind and really went above and beyond to make us feel appreciated highly recommend going to Jhonathas especially to see Daniel truly a great guy and delicious food

Yelp
This is a great late night place ( let's face it Franklin closes way too early )! Great place to watch sports & grab some above average bar food! Service is always great! I highly, recommend the cauliflower pizza ... insanely DELICIOUS!!

Yelp
Food delicious. Large portions with plenty to share. Kind wait staff and cool atmosphere with TVs and a bar and outdoor seating with TVs too.

Nell H.

Yelp
Very mediocre food, despite decent menu. Have eaten here many times because of a few good experiences. Had lunch there today. Entree not hot out of kitchen. Had it re-heated. Salmon perfectly grilled & zero taste. Usually has teriyaki sauce cooked into it. Enjoyable veggies & packaged rice pilaf. Husband's chicken was tough & hard to chew. The server seemed to be working alone & was working hard. Excellent service.

Yelp
Nice little spot to grab a cold beer and a meal. It's a sports bar with tons of tapped beer. You get 2 beers for the price of one, nice gimmick! I'll stop in again if I stop in Nashville again.

Tony D.

Yelp
The food is always good, not gourmet, but good. They do a particularly good job with their salads. My one complaint, and the reason we don't go more often, is the noise. It is always very noisy in there. Almost to the point of having to raise your voice just to talk across the table. In my opinion, it's not the crowds, it's the acoustics. The restaurant is not designed to muffle sounds. It has a concrete floor, mostly open tables, steel and metal ceiling and hard walls that don't absorb sounds. Luckily they keep the TVs muted. They need an acoustic redesign of the space to make it more pleasant. But if you don't care about noise, they do a good job with the food and service is mostly good.

Krista M.

Yelp
I found a cockroach in my Caesar salad. The service was great, but the manager did not offer to comp the meal. It was a disappointing experience for a local fav restaurant. Addressing this issue would have been an easy fix for a terrible situation.
google avatar

Samm S.

Yelp
Decent place to go. Wanted to have a sit down lunch in the midst of running errands and my husband and I opted for the bar. The menu is large and there is certainly something for everyone. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and tasty. Fried pickles, onion soup, salad, margarita. I enjoyed it all. The raspberry dressing that came with my salad was particularly delightful and I really appreciated having HOT grilled chicken on it (I hate cold chicken). It is dark inside and with the windows, can be difficult to see at times. Our bartender was sweet and made for a pleasant, un-rushed meal. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
We brought a youth hockey team (14 year olds) to Jonathan's for a 'team dinner' this past Saturday while in town for a tournament. We had pre-arranged a week or so before with staff so we had an area set aside for ~35 guests. While the area provided to us was secluded on a balcony, it unfortunately was not nearly large enough to accommodate the entire group, so some of the parents ate downstairs while others went to another restaurant. Had it not been for that 'kerfuffle' (and yes, that's a word), this rating would be great. The food was great as well as the service, notably Sidney and Brandon who took exceptional care of us and put up w/ the antics of 14 year olds. Well done Sidney and Brandon! The one issue we had will not prevent us from returning to Jonathan's.
google avatar

Kelsey E.

Yelp
We arrived at Jonathan's around dinner time on a Monday night. Having had a great experience here previously, my expectations were high. Unfortunately, they were not met. We ordered the pizza flat bread as an app and the veggie burger and sausage pasta for our entrees. The veggie burger was meh. The sausage pasta was very bland. That was most disappointing because our server suggested it as it was said to be a fan favorite. Aside from the food, the service was solid and the atmosphere was as expected in a bar/restaurant setting.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Solid spot. Is it fancy? No. Does it need to be? No. It's a good basic sports bar where you can catch a game and eat some quality food. It doesn't have the fanciest menu, but everything is fresh and well prepared! Convenient location with ample parking. Good salads and burgers. Great service and kind employees.

Sandra H.

Yelp
waitied over an hour for our party of 14 to be seated only to find out they set out a table for 8. The rude cool springs hostess said we'd need to wait until the table adjacent was empty but those people were just seated - despite the restaurant being almost empty when I arrived an hour earlier. It took FOrEVER to get a table and the hostess was sooo rude the entire time we were there. spent over $500 for a lousy evening experience. So unnecessary and the manager wasn't any better when he finally got involved. A bad experience for the entire party.

Kim P.

Yelp
We were swinging thru town overnight on a motorcycle trip and the hotel had recommended this restaurant. The atmosphere was great but the waitress made the night. If you go you must ask for Kylie - she will give you GREAT service. We would recommend this restaurant and definitely come back if we were back in town.

Tammy H.

Yelp
Drew our server was awesome. Friendly and fast. Our food was great. Gluten free Hawaiian pizza and Bam Bam tacos. Highly recommend!

Yelp
So yeah, Jonathan's is most definitely a "SPORTS BAR" all caps...like the most sports-bar-ie place I've been in ages. We were here midday on a Saturday and it was packed to the walls with fans in full team gear gleefully shouting along with every play. There is no place in the spot you can glance and not see a game. It's peak college football season (I presume) and my party, being casual sports fans at best and college football fans nil, were not as enamored with this aspect of it it but judged we were in the minority. It's fine though. The food was what we came for and it was really good. We tried wings first as we noticed how good they looked at the tables around us. They were really good. A lot of places do BAD wings, a lot more do mediocre wings, few do great wings. I think this place, based on our first try, is one of the few who do great. They were crispy, meaty, and well sauced. We opted for "hot" but they weren't that hot, so we may try some sort of "nuclear" option next go around. We've been wanting some really good pizza at a sit-down restaurant where we can enjoy it hot and fresh for a while now, so we tried the "carnivore" pie and it was really good. Hand tossed crust cooked right, nice and cheesy, all the topics were good. Then add in 2-for-1 beers (they bring you both at once) and an actual cocktail menu and you're on point...oh and good dessert, judging by the slab of chocolate cake we got to go and enjoyed immensely. It feels like a dive bar that is a step up, not grimy or gross, just on point. Service was unpretentious, straightforward, and casual. It was fine. We'll definitely be back at some point. Maybe in baseball season, though...

Yelp
Jonathan's Grille has new menu items, and (drumroll!) they now serve the best wedge salad in the Bellevue area ... and beyond! The "Little Broken Wedge" is not little, and it's filled with goodies like bacon, tomatoes, scallions, and a boiled egg. The blue cheese crumbles and dressing are delicious. To be honest, I had the wedge salad at Perry's this past Sunday (it was excellent), and Jonathan's was bigger and better. It could seriously serve 2 people, especially if you are also ordering a sandwich or burger. In addition, my service from Holly was outstanding! I love a good crispy wedge lettuce salad - this one won't disappoint!
