Where to Eat in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve

"The owners of this Ontario Street café are the same that ran the now-closed Sata Sushi, which previously stood in its place. The approach remains animal-free, but the focus is now on vegan sandwiches and salads, plus smoothies, coffee, and natural wine." - Valerie Silva, Eater Staff

Cute little restaurant. Staff is very friendly. The decor and ambiance is nice. Food was very tasty. However, I feel that their breakfast dish should come with a side. I mean, the breakfast sandwich, as delicious as it was (especially the bun!!!), was $14 for just the sandwich. It’s a bit pricey for what it is. Same goes for the French Toast. It was very good but kind of felt like a small portion for $14. Thus the reason for the 4 stars. I still recommend this place!

My first trip today to Jones Café has me immediately addicted to this restaurant because of the world-class cuisine and compassion for animals. All five of us enjoyed everything we ordered, like the outrageously tasty Toast Verde highlighted by cashew sour cream and torched oranges. And we love that the restroom displays pics of "farmed" animals looking you straight in the eye. This place excites your palate and inspires your heart!😋💚

During my visit, I experience really good customer service in a good atmosphere; an employee is very friendly, helpful, the crowd for a Tuesday afternoon is chill, and the music adds more to a chill somewhat upbeat atmosphere. The Hollywrap is really good. The Kale offers a distinct strong flavor. The Tofu Grillé is dense, quite firm, though tasty with the other ingredients. The flavors blend well. The Oatmeal Raisin cookie is good, a crunchier than soft tasty snack after the main course. The Booster is so good: a natural blend of fruits and vegetables like super flavorful juice-water (the flavor isn't super strong though very good to drink after the meal).

The smoothie was really good. I wish there had been more fruit in the yogurt bowl, as there was only 4 small pieces of papaya and kiwi each which is less than the advertised pictures. It all tasted really good, but 5.50$ for the bowl of unseasoned potatoes with about 1 potato’s worth total is disappointing.

On our my favorite breakfast /lunch places in Montreal. They serve a vegan offering of warm and cold meals and drinks. Friendly service, on street parking, one step above sidewalk level

I tried Sata Sushi (not Jones Café) Great Vegan Sushis, great service and ambiance. I recommend.

Cool and cozy sushi place with friendly staff and delicious vegan menu. I am holding back one star because I think the desserts need some improvement.

Overall it's a nice place. The cream in the edamame sandwich was a bit too sweet. But the quality of food and creativity of ingredients are remarkable.

Yelp
Food is good and not too expensive! The Palmster Dog is absolutely nothing like a hot dog at all, which is great because it's actually infinitely better than a real hot dog. (It's light, crunchy veggies in a slightly spicy sauce that comes in a thin, folded fried bread) The vegan sushi isn't as good Momo, but is still good none the less. Definitely recommend :) I'm really surprised this place doesn't have more reviews!
