Visited on a random weekday around lunch time and found staff hard at work and ready to take orders. It’s a little hard to hear due to noise and being in a gas station is a little iffy but what you come for is the food! Pricing and portions were fair and the food was tasty, we ordered a pulled pork and fries and brisket -everything was flavorful and delicious. The seating area is very casual and not as clean but again that’s to be expected. Parking was easy by the shopping center and this seems to be a favorite among nearby workers. I didn’t find a trash can easily but I’m sure it was available. I recommend ordering in person as I noticed a price different to when I attempted ordering online. Overall, I recommend.

Best BBQ I have ever had. The Smoked chicken FELL off the bone like it was nothing. Just extremely tender. The use of wood for smoking not only makes the lot smell amazing, but really comes through in the meat. Ribs were extremely tender and slid completely off the bone as well. The BBQ sauce was DELICIOUS. Overall, I was extremely impressed! We definitely want to come back.

Google
Food was extremely subpar which was disappointing since it came highly recommended (and cost $34 for two entrees). Their “rib sandwich” was a bunch of bbq ribs on top of two prices of white bread (I pulled the bread out for the photo). Not toasted, not separate. Just soggy white wonder bread. Ribs were served with bones in them on top of the soggy bread. Brisket was just gross. Besides that, the woman working the counter acted as if we were inconveniencing her by ordering. Not friendly, hardly could hear her over the fans. Lastly, the smoke was so incredibly overpowering I couldn’t enjoy the seating area because my infant child was struggling with the atmosphere. They had fans out there blowing the smoke into everyone instead of away from the seating area. It’s like they don’t want customers.

Google
The owner could work on hospitality by greeting all customers. The person in front of me was acknowledged, spoken to, and even given a sauce sample to help choose. When it was my turn, there was silence. The place wasn’t busy, only two people in line, so it stood out that I didn’t receive the same courtesy. I’ve opened over 10 restaurants and been featured on the Food Network, so I understand the challenges small businesses face and I’m always fair. The point is to treat every customer the same—you never know who is standing at your window. The meat had decent flavor, but the sauce was too sweet for my taste. When combined, the meat and sauce had balance, but in my experience great barbecue should stand on its own without needing sauce. Continued blessings...

Google
This is hands down the best barbecue I've ever had. Normally I'm a burnt ends guy because some people just do not know how to properly get flavor into their brisket and burnt ends is the only way. Not so with these guys, the brisket was heavily smoked full of flavor and did not need to be eaten with the barbecue sauce like so many other places. Can be eaten on its own and plenty delicious. But when you throw on some sauce? It's just over, nowhere else you need to be going. The oxtail was also fantastic. I've only had oxtail a couple times in my life. The only other times was Jamaican style, never even considered that it could be a smoked barbecue item and man is it good! To top it all off delicious, dirty rice, and the fried okra was crunchy and had some good flavor to it as well. Get some today, you won't regret it.

Google
My folks and I had the Brisket Dinner, Rib Dinner and Rib Basket with Green Beans, Collard Greens, Fried Okra and Fries. Not saying this lightly: the Brisket is legitimately the BEST Brisket I've ever had. The Ribs were excellent. The sides were very good as well... Really enjoyed the greens, beans and especially the fried okra... Highly recommend this Treasure Coast Old School BBQ!

Alexandra K.

Google
Words and pictures don't do Mr. Jone's food justice! We always order the Rib Dinner and Brisket Dinner and we have never been disappointed. The brisket is always tender and the ribs are in a league of their own--tender, falling off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth. Each dish comes with two sides, but the Corn Nuggets and Onion Rings have got to be our favorite! This is absolutely hands down the best barbecue in Port St. Lucie (even St. Lucie County!)! Jones Old School BBQ is a must-try for the ultimate soul, comfort, and deliciously smokey meal the whole family will love.

Google

Yelp
The food was delicious. Nice and tender brisket. Collard greens were flavorful. The people were very nice and welcoming. No drinks, you can buy your drinks at the gas station.

Yelp
Food was amazing Be prepared to wait it does take a bit to get your order Parking is tight but worth it

Yelp
My husband and I came here today. We both ordered the brisket and fries, and substituted sweet potato fries. When I tell you this was one of the best meals I've had all year, it was! The sweet potato fries were the ideal amount of crispness, and they were soft on the inside and so perfectly sweet and salty. The brisket had a delicious smokiness to it and the flavor was impeccably good. My husband and I agreed that this was a five star experience. We sat at the red picnic tables and enjoyed our food more than we thought we could. Totally a must-visit for BBQ lovers. Amazing experience and we hope to have the pleasure of visiting this establishment again in the near future. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Yelp
Amazing BBQ!! Make you wanna slap ya mommmaaa!!!! The bbq sauce is out of this world and the brisket was juicy/tender melt in your mouth!! Ribs were on point too!! And the Mac and collard greens Service was great and the staff were friendly. You can smell this place a mile away! Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Delicious tender meats and great service! I tried the brisket, oxtails, pork and potato salad...everything was awesome. The meats were smoked to perfection and I can't wait to try their ribs on my next visit. I highly recommend this BBQ truck!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped for lunch last week while visiting the area, boy am I glad I did! The brisket was amazing!! The three sides were delicious we had some fries, some greens and the dirty rice. If you're in the area and want some real old school bbq, STOP here!!!

Christina C.

Yelp
The food was amazing. You can really taste the smoke and barbecue. They gave us the food very fast.
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
Best BBQ around. Not great on ambiance but the food is worth it. Ribs fell off the bone.
google avatar

Yelp
Shazam, that's the only way to describe the barbecue from this location. This gentleman works in a truck on the side of a gas station, has it set up perfectly with seats outside a canopy, he has the barbecues burning, the smell going in the air, everything about this is barbecue, the food I'm gonna tell you to go find out yourself, if you find out that I'm there stay away because I want all the food for me. Delicious barbecue, friendly people, I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't even convey how amazing this food was. We stopped by last night because the aroma was tantalizing. We ordered a pulled pork and a brisket and they were both so mouthwatering tender. Best BBQ I've had, and I've had bbq in many states. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. As an added bonus, the people are kind and will easily share a laugh. Definitely try this BBQ. You will not only not regret it, but you'll have found a new addiction.
google avatar

Sharna E.

Yelp
Ordered on line and did pick up, it was easy and done quickly. I got the brisket, mac & cheese, collard greens. Brisket was super tender and delicious, Mac & Cheese was Bomb , however, both I and my wife thought the greens were too salty, couldn't eat them !!! Wife loved the fried Okra. Wife and Mom loved the fall off the bone ribs. It's a food truck, with the smokers right there , what else could you want . Would definitely recommend !!!
google avatar

Yelp
I have definitely drove from Homestead,FL. for the best BBQ in south Florida! Hands down NOBODY is touching him! These ribs are smoked to immaculate perfection that the bone and gristle is chewable, NO LIE‼‼‼ Soooo tender, soooo flavorful!!! Cooked with love not to mention his brisket and beef ribs as well. Matter of FACT! Anything that comes off of his grill (s), are A1 CERTIFIED‼‼ Wish I could give him 10 stars, he deserves it!
google avatar

Sonia M.

Yelp
All the meats are amazingly done. The flavors are so well infused on every side dish and every meal. Mr "Jones" himself was present to make sure everyone is happy with his attention and cooking. Perfect setup!!

Cherry W.

Yelp
One of the best barbecue I've had and the sides Humm that Mac and cheese and fried okra is amazing. I have to rush from work safely that is an hour away just to make it home in time to get my fix. In fact I'm on my way now lol

Don G.

Yelp
Passing through Port St Lucie on the way up to Jacksonville, the wife googled a place to grab lunch. We almost kept driving when we saw that it was a food truck because we've had bad experiences in the past but something in my gut told me to stop. Boy did we hit the jackpot. Aside from the BBQ which is second to none, the hospitality is like nothing we've experienced before. We tried the short rib, the beef ribs, the ox tail and an array of sides. Everything, EVERYTHING, was fantastic. If you dip your finger in their BBQ sauce, you would eat it down to the bone. As we began eating, we already were planning on when we can drive the hour and a half from our home in Parkland to have it again. Understand what I'm saying. This is BBQ so good that it is worth a 3 hour round trip drive on a weekend without thinking twice. My only regret is I can't give Jones Old School a well deserved 6th star to set it apart from everything else on Yelp. DO NOT HESITATE to drive how ever long you have to in order to try this. If you live in Port St Lucie, drop on your knees and thank God that this gem is in your backyard. The food is so good it should increase the property values of the homes near it.

Yelp
This is a food truck in a gas station parking lot. When you get out of the car you can smell the food cooking in the smoker. It smelled so good. They have picnic tables set up. Some under a tent cover and a couple out in the open. Since my husband is always cold we sat in the sun. You order at the window of the truck. The gentleman who took the order was ver friendly. I ordered the pulled pork. It came with fries. The flavor was so good. My husband had brisket and fries. He couldn't stop raving about it. The portions were big. The only thing they didn't have was drinks. You had to get them in the gas station food mart. This was no problem. They probably have an arrangement with the station. While we were eating a lot of people came for carry out. Even the police. We can't wait to go back. It is in downtown Port St Lucie off federal highway.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to try this place after hearing great things. And everything was true! One of the best BBQ spots I've been to in a very long time. Usually, a BBQ joint is either good at the meats or good at the sides, but there's a great balance between both here. You can tell there is a lot of passion that goes into the food. And since this is an outdoor food truck, the ordering process is quite memorable as well. Heck, if you don't smell like smoke after leaving, then you didn't get the full experience! Give Jones a try. You won't be disappointed.

Nat M.

Yelp
Food wax delicious but ordering system was chaotic. Maybe a number system would be helpful??
google avatar

Yelp
Unbelievable! You know when something is so good you're putting to much thought into how you'll give it justice in a review? So I usually go for pulled pork or ribs when eating barbecue. I thought I'd try the brisket here. It is literally the absolute best tasting meat I've ever had of anywhere and any kind! I've ate all sorts of meats at all levels of restaurants across the country. If you don't try this place it's your loss. To top off the great food, it is ran and served by some very quality friendly folks. Does anyone know how to do 6 stars on here?! Thanks so much Jones Old School BBQ!
google avatar

Leah P.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this place . Outside of a gas station, but don't let that fool you as the food is phenomenal! The owner is great at what he does and the food proves that. The first time we got the pulled pork dinner and brisket dinner. Both were absolutely delicious. And then we get pulled pork and wings for our second visit, and somehow the food was even better than we remembered. And you can't go wrong with any of the sides. Once you visit, you'll be hooked and always want to go back. Sadly enough, we move back to ND soon, but we'll be dreaming of this food for months to come.

Yelp
This BBQ was off the chain! I got brisket, okra and collard greens & my husband got pork, corn nuggets and baked beans. This is by far the BEST bbq I've had in Port St Lucie. Everything was so full of flavor. The staff was extremely kind as well. We will be back!

Yelp
Jones BBQ started out with Dwight Jones love of grilling. He started out cooking for family and friends who then asked him to cater their events. In April of 2012 he started his company Jones Old School BBQ. He operates his business along with his wife Merica. After a long hike at nearby Oxbow Eco-Center I was looking for a hearty dinner and saw Jones boasting that he has the best BBQ. Challenge accepted sir! I have no problem eating at a gas station. Los Bocados in a gas station in Parkland knocks it out of the park. As soon as I even approached the gas station I could smell the BBQ through my window. It is the best advertising. Jones is located in a food truck in the gas station parking lot. There were a few people ordering or waiting so this was a good sign. The man in front of me started ordering and before he got a word out, the man I believe to be Dwight Jones barked at him hurry up man I ain't got all day. He must have seen the look the man and I shot each other because he tried to cover up with a little laugh. It's not funny to insult your customers. This man was not in on the joke based on the uncomfortable look on his face and he certainly did not laugh like it was funny to him. I had never been there before and wanted to look at the menu but after that I felt rushed to order. Dwight Jones has bible verses all over the truck, that's nice but I am pretty sure Jesus never said to his flock hurry up I ain't got all day! After ordering a quarter rack of ribs, fries, coleslaw, and an extra side of corn nuggets ($16) I sat down at the picnic table. You buy your drinks from the gas station which was strangely empty but they said they would be restocked in the next week or two. Also bring cash, Jones charges extra for a card which I don't think you are allowed to do. There are two awful filthy picnic tables to sit at to either wait or eat. They are blasted constantly with smoke from the smoker and covered in flies. I ended up just standing up because it was so nasty. Get your food to go. I peeked into the truck when I was picking up my order. It did not look clean and decided it was best not to look further. There was no way I was eating there so I took my food to a local park only to find that there were no utensils or condiments in the bag. Come on guys really? I ended up not eating until I got home over an hour later. The food was good and portions were large but by that time I was over this place. I am taking the time to write this in hopes that they will raise the level of customer service to match their food. Take a trip down to Los Bocados and see how gas station cuisine is done right. The point of operating a gas station restaurant is that there is less overhead. Take some money and make a nice place for people to wait. Don't forget utensils! Be nice to your customers. A few simple changes could have elevated this to a 5 star review. As it is I won't be back. In response to Merica's reply I would like to say I am not out to bash anyone. If you look at my reviews almost every one of them of 5 stars. I give more 5 stars than anyone on Yelp. I like to help mom and pop business by giving them money and a shout out on the internet. It takes a lot for me to say anything negative. To have the owner reply in such a manner shows that they are not interested in constructive criticism. I wish them the best and they are going to need it in this economic downturn.

Yelp
First time at the business and I ordered a Turkey Leg. It's was amazing! The meat just fell off the bone and the taste was the best I have ever had and I've eaten a lot of Turkey Legs! Talked to a friend of mine and he told me the Ribs are the same way, falls right off the bone and tastes amazing!! Going back and trying them!

Sarah P.

Yelp
AMAZING! I recently moved to Port St Lucie and honestly have been disappointed with the food options out here but man this place is amazing! The food is on point everytime. The service is always great & even though the food is fresh the food is done in a timely manner. I'd honestly definitely recommend this place to anyone. 10/10.

Oscar F.

Yelp
It took me 5 Minutes to vacuum my food from the plate! Brisket was juicy, Ribs were full of flavor and farrrr from dry!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! AMAZING FOOD!!!!!
google avatar

Shelly V.

Yelp
Delicious Bar B Que that falls right off the bone & don't forget the chicken. The sides are also my favorites. Fries , creamed corn nuggets, potato salad, green beans & the Mac N cheese are the best around

Dawn M.

Yelp
You smell terrible by the time you leave, and the food made both of us sick, nausea, etc... Haven't been back... Go to Mission BBQ if you want quality BBQ with a clean kitchen and food that won't make you sick.
google avatar

Yelp
The food from this roadside stand is absolutely delicious! My only concern is that it's difficult to find them open. I finally lucked out on a beautiful Saturday evening and picked up two dinners. The brisket was fabulous - tender and tasty. I loved the bbq sauce. Also had the pulled pork dinner, which was equally wonderful. For sides, we had the collard greens, green beans, and mac & cheese. All were great. Prices were reasonable. I paid cash (I don't know if they accept credit or not). It would help if they would put a sign near the road indicating that they are open. If they are, they are definitely worth stopping for!
google avatar

Judi S.

Yelp
Ribs are large, meaty, and delicious. YUMMY! Too bad they don't deliver. I would eat them more often if they delivered.
google avatar

Marc K.

Yelp
Pulled pork was delicious A flavor of smoke was perfect and the BBQ sauce a nice addition. The brisket was fall apart good. It was tender, and smoked just right. The ribs--holy @#%, were they good. A stunningly flavorful crust and fall of the bone meat that can't be beat. Smokey deliciousness. The coleslaw was fine, nothing wrong at all. Nicely chilled.same for potato salad. Open air truck with seating. Sound and noise is of traffic. Definitely come.

Michelle P.

Yelp
Jones hands down has best bbq I've ever had. His brisket is so tender, never dry. Ribs are fall off the bone good. Pork is delicious too. Def gotta try his collards if u stop by there bc they're the best. I buy a mason jar full of his homemade bbq sauce so I always have some on hand at home.

Yelp
My cousin and I came here after my wife left for a trip and we were hungry. I book marked this place 3 months ago and finally had the chance to come. When you drive up, the food truck is parked outside the gas station. They supplied 2 picnic tables and over hang which I thought was nice. We went to order and a family member or friend was helping as they were very busy getting customers food orders ready. We ended up ordering the meat trio for $20, which included, brisket, chicken and ribs. My cousin ordered his pulled pork dinner which we got beans and collard greens and a corn bread. The results are the following: cornbread, terrible. Tastes store bought as we were told it was made fresh. Even bad the look of a store bought corn bread. Dense, cold, hard and tasteless. The beans were good. Dressed up with maple syrup and brown sugar and meat mixed in. The collard greens which I usually hate were good. Pulled pork, I thought tasted good however, my cousin and I agreed the pork was a tad mushy but tender at the same time. The brisket which was a let down in a sense of being over cooked to more of a pot roast. My cousin is actually a bbq judge and agreed that the brisket was over done but had was good. The chicken was excellent. Very moist, fall off the bone and great flavor. The hero of the meal we both agreed on were the ribs. Excellent. Texture, taste fall off the bone. A winner in my book. My cousin believes however close, the chicken was the hero. Overall, a solid 4 bbq place. I know now in the future to go with the chicken and ribs as my 2 choices.

Kurt R.

Yelp
Nice family business. Great food, awesome BBQ and onion rings. You can order 1/4, 1/2 1lb briskets.

Dee H.

Yelp
Tender brisket and fall-off-the-bone spareribs. Both were so super delicious! Can't wait to go back for more!!!

Robert S.

Yelp

Yelp
Well, well, well I have I decided to get some bbq tonight and I have been seeing these reviews of Old Jones...so I decided to go. When first getting there who do I see? Mr. Jones himself. I like his personality and straightforwardness in our convo. It was funny in my explaining to him in what is "Yelp Elite". And yes, I did school him on it. ..lol! Even though it's a food truck location, it was cozy and clean. My daughter and I bought the wing plates with potato salad and baked beans. It was delicious and the wings meat came right off the bones. The bbq sauce was good and sweet. Now, I did get a chance to taste the brisket and omg! It was well smoked and moist. We added a little sauce to it and it just took the brisket to a whole new level. As we were waiting, I had great convo with smoothie customer Mr. Alfonso. I learned we were from the same home state. Good convo as I was waiting on my food. I will be back for the brisket plate (winking). Oh, I can't forget about the dirty rice (no pork). It was very good and not dry. You get a large portion for the price, so it was well worth it. You should take an opportunity to go get you a rib, chicken, brisket or wing plate. You won't be disappointed. I know I didn't (winking).

Yelp
Always has good bbq. One of the best in this area. The only negative is there is limited parking. I suggest you park in the shopping center next door and walk over to them. They are next to a gas station and operate out of a food truck so this is a To Go place.
google avatar

Dominick C.

Yelp
Great food. Helpful crew. Great smells and fall off the bone bbq. Their turkey legs are the best I've ever had!
google avatar

Deane P.

Yelp
Finally a good BBQ place in Port St Lucie. Talking about fall off the bone ribs, be careful as his ribs are truly fall off the bone. You almost can't hold the rib bone to eat the meat as the meat falls off as you are holding it. The taste has a Carolina influence and his sauce is great. The meat was very moist. This is an outdoor permanent place that you need to try. My wife and I enjoyed it.

Kayla A.

Yelp
I LOVEEEE ME MY JONES BBQ !! My favorite is the quarter dark bbq legs with his bake beans and Mac and cheese omg FOOD COMA !! Jones himself is a real cool dude I had him cater for a bbq and till this day people ask me about his brisket and ribs !best bbq In the St.Lucie area FOR-REAL !!
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
Some o the best BBQ(Chicken,Ribs,Pulled Pork,Brisket), Greens and Potato Salad I have ever had. Hands down the best you will find in Port Saint Lucie if not the entire state.
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
The best BBQ in town. Fresh, flavorful, and friendly. Portions are huge, these pics are are after we put a dent in it.

Paul B.

Yelp
One of the best barbecue out there. It is always good to see people take pride in what they do. Parking is limited since this is on a gas station parking lot.
google avatar

Dave O.

Yelp
I can appreciate the efforts The Jones Family puts into every meal they serve up. The "Old School" way of cooking the chicken and ribs on real pits using real wood and charcoal no doubt it's probably some of the better BBQ in the area. I enjoyed the ribs as well as the chicken but when it's all said and done the venue is the issue. The serving area inside the store does not give you the best feeling of a sanitary environment and although the young lady dishing out the large portions took every measure she has at her disposal clean utensils, gloves etc it's still in a small crowded corner of a old convenient store. The food is good hence the three stars I only hope that at some point they can get their own food truck or trailer to dish out their authentic BBQ and sides I think this alone would elevate their business way beyond their hopes and dreams. These are very nice genuine people offering a good product. Buyer beware their hot sauce is awesome but really really hot.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's say it this way : The first time I found the place I was waiting at the red light. I'm not kidding the wind blew the additive smell into my car and I literal went around the block to see if it tasted as good as the smell. I'm not making this up. I'm a barbecue snob. There is nothing on the menu I don't love. From fried okra to brisket The barbecue sauce is absolutely a legal drug I'm addictive too. I'm from Texas so my favorite is the brisket ask real sweet and they will even pull the chicken! I'm now hungry Gonna go get a fix! Best dang barbecue in Florida Promise Try it and you will understand the other places taste like t.v. dinners after them

Nick T.

Yelp
Man if you live in PSL and haven't had any food from here you are missing out. A true staple to PSL and THE GO 2 FOOD TRUCK for me
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent BBQ!! Best I've had in years. Friendly service. Definitely a hidden gem in psl.

Yelp
The best damn BBQ around!!!! Everything is always fresh, tender, and seasoned to perfection. They really know what they're doing.
