My cousin and I came here after my wife left for a trip and we were hungry. I book marked this place 3 months ago and finally had the chance to come.
When you drive up, the food truck is parked outside the gas station. They supplied 2 picnic tables and over hang which I thought was nice.
We went to order and a family member or friend was helping as they were very busy getting customers food orders ready.
We ended up ordering the meat trio for $20, which included, brisket, chicken and ribs. My cousin ordered his pulled pork dinner which we got beans and collard greens and a corn bread.
The results are the following: cornbread, terrible. Tastes store bought as we were told it was made fresh. Even bad the look of a store bought corn bread. Dense, cold, hard and tasteless.
The beans were good. Dressed up with maple syrup and brown sugar and meat mixed in. The collard greens which I usually hate were good.
Pulled pork, I thought tasted good however, my cousin and I agreed the pork was a tad mushy but tender at the same time. The brisket which was a let down in a sense of being over cooked to more of a pot roast. My cousin is actually a bbq judge and agreed that the brisket was over done but had was good. The chicken was excellent. Very moist, fall off the bone and great flavor. The hero of the meal we both agreed on were the ribs. Excellent. Texture, taste fall off the bone. A winner in my book. My cousin believes however close, the chicken was the hero.
Overall, a solid 4 bbq place. I know now in the future to go with the chicken and ribs as my 2 choices.
