Joni's - Review - Montauk - New York - The Infatuation

"Montauk’s go-to breakfast spot, Joni’s serves iced coffee, breakfast burritos, egg sandwiches, wraps, and other kind of healthy stuff. Everyone goes to Joni’s, so be prepared for organized chaos during prime time. Plus, you never know who you’ll run into here. Our best sighting ever: Jerry Seinfeld. photo credit: David A. Had a lovely acai bowl 🥣 in here today ~ super cute and clean establishment! Lots of options - gluten-free & vegetarian people will love. Breakfast served all day. Big menu. Can't go wrong in here, I highly recommend 🤩

Google
love everything about this place! the service was always extremely kind. initially was going to try this place out at the start of our vacation in montauk, but loved it so much that this was our breakfast/lunch spot everyday. no need to find someplace new when this spot was so great. the food is all so good. tried out the build your own breakfast burrito, cali burrito, and the sorry charlie. everything was so great. the banana bread (both the normal and the gluten free) were to die for. i would do anything to recreate that recipe. the vibe of joni’s is also so great. service is quick & kind. plenty of outdoor seating to eat at. a must see when in montauk!

Google
The menu is extensive. The ole ole ($17) while expensive was stuffed with a ton of different ingredients that made it very tasty and flavorful. There were mini cups of hot sauces. The food was ready *lightening* fast. Outdoor seating available on the weekend surprisingly. Such a cute and lovely experience.

Google
JONI'S restaurant in Montauk, New York, offers delicious smoothies and a nice selection of vegan and vegetarian options. I highly recommend checking it out!

Google
Healthy and incredibly delicious! Joni's is the best! The white sand smooth with shot of espresso is my morning ritual. Ole ole wrap is beyond yummy. Thanks Jon's for feeding my family and I on every trip🤍✨🐚🌊

Google
Nice spot, quick service, gets busy. Pricy place- reminds me of Harbour Island in the Bahamas. $17 for a smoothie with add-ons.

Z

Google
$16.50 for a small breakfast wrap. Definitely not worth the wait

Google
Joni's is my go to place every time I'm in MTK. Cutest place with the best food & nicest staff. My favorites are the peace love chicken burrito, the rio acai bowl with almond butter, the mucha maca & sex booster smoothies. Also, their egg wraps are delish <3

Yelp
Joni's is so fresh and healthy, yet keeps you so satisfied and full. There's lots of people pretty much all the time, so expect a wait if you order online. If you order in store though, I would expect about a 10-15 minute wait after ordering for your food to come out, depending how much you ordered. There's bar seating inside and ample picnic table style seating outside. We got the Ole Ole and a custom breakfast burrito, both pressed, and wow they were delicious! The Ole Ole was definitely the favorite as it was more flavorful and had more eggs. I also think I prefer the guacamole compared to the avocado. The custom breakfast burrito was also delicious, but slightly more bland. It had a ton of veggies with egg and cheese, but there was definitely less egg. Definitely get the burrito pressed!! Makes it warm and extra delicious, with the nice crisp of the tortilla. All the ingredients are super fresh and high quality, and the meal feels very clean while still being super satiating (one burrito each was enough to make us feel pretty full!)

Yelp
Got here early and the line was LONG. The food took a bit longer than desired, but was excellent when it was ready. They have amazing gluten free breakfast options, as well as fresh juices that are delicious. The hot sauce added to the wrap was heavenly. Sat outside and enjoyed breakfast.

Yelp
A bit on the pricey side but wasn't mad about my wrap with tons of turkey, bacon, avocado and American cheese. I asked for chipotle sauce on the side (which was an extra cost, like a lot of the other things I put in my wrap) and it was a big hit among the group and was definitely worth the order. I volunteered as tribute to pick up our breakfast while staying in Montauk. I came in at the expected time on a Saturday morning and it the place was so busy they asked if I can wait a few more minutes while my order was just about to finish it. After seeing everyone in there waiting, I could appreciate why it took a little longer. The women putting together and handing the orders out did a great job. Especially when there were 3 Samanthas there waiting to get our breakfast. Don't worry we all got the right orders. This is definitely a good spot for a quick take our breakfast, but you will have to shell out a decent amount of change for this spot. Worth it? I think so!

Yelp
Amazing food! We loved the meal. Cute location, friendly and prompt service. A fantastic way to share a meal :)

Yelp
The online order process is super easy and I highly suggest if you are a larger group (we were ordering for six so wanted to give enough time). The wraps are delicious and filling - deceiving because they seem a little small when you get them but they're perfect. The bowls are also really good. Whatever their hot sauce is on the side that you take when getting utensils? It's addicting. I love it. I want to bathe in it. The iced latte is phenomenal. I ordered a half iced tea half lemonade and it was really just more watery and lemonade than anything but that's okay. I ate half my wrap and returned to it later on, the second half had egg shells in it :( butttttt that still doesn't deter me from giving this place four stars. The food is GOOD, the service is friendly, and it's not crazy expensive. Definitely somewhere to get a quick, nutritious, yummy breakfast.

Yelp
Cute little spot with both healthy options, and not so healthy options :) It's a small but efficient space, and the staff is warm and welcoming. Seating is outside only so go expecting to either eat outdoors or takeaway. Staff helped us make our choices and even though there was a small group of customers waiting for their orders, never rushed us along. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time for what was ordered - we probably waited ten minutes or so at an outside picnic table. My roasted turkey sandwich on sourdough was delicious, minus the cheese that was far too much and not fully melted. The bread itself was amazing and once I removed the waxy cheese, the sandwich was perfect. Husband's egg white wrap was good if not a bit soggy, but that's typical for a breakfast wrap that hasn't been toasted or panini-pressed. The yogurt with homemade granola was so fabulous. Check out Joni's when you're in the area. Reasonable, fairly quick breakfast with lots of yummy options made by nice people.

Yelp
Cute food spot that always draws a crowd. It has outdoor seating or a small window seating area. Lots of healthy options available for breakfast and lunch, including coffee and fresh juices. I got a coffee and selected my own breakfast wrap. The wrap was very tasty, you could tell it was prepared with fresh ingredients. I also tried a slice of the homemade banana bread and it was so moist and delicious. Completely understand why this place is always drawing the crowds in, I will definitely return

Yelp
We got 2 great breakfast burritos from here to bring back to our airbnb for breakfast. They were hot, flavorful and well prepared. We enjoyed them. This is a great quick spot for breakfast.

Yelp
For my last lunch of the summer treated myself to take out... super easy to order online, and super easy to customize! Had a grilled chicken wrap with beans, black rice, avocado, pico, vegan cheese. Yum! Also had a decaf iced cappuccino with almond milk. Yum! I arrived 15 mins post the time they said to pick up so waited just a few mins.

Yelp
So great to have a place in Montauk with health gluten free options. So many options of wraps, sandwiches, and salads for breakfast and lunch. I ordered a create your own wrap. It was very tasty. Cute little counter seating inside as well as picnic benches outside. While I was waiting there were a ton of locals ordering. That's always a good sign. I also tried their gluten free banana bread. What a treat that was!

Yelp
I was out in Montauk a few weeks ago and stopped at Joni's kitchen for lunch. We were a big group, 12 hungry cyclists converged on Joni's! A short line out front waiting to be served. When it was our turn to order the staff was friendly and helpful. Last and definitely not least... the food! We are got different things. So we are kinda tried each other's food. I loved everything! Definitely heading back again real soon!

Nic E.

Yelp
I used to love this place but it has gone down hill. Way overpriced bland food that's not good anymore, hour and a half long waits for a breakfast wrap! That should take 15 minutes. I'd rather go elsewhere with better food, better prices and a staff that is actually nice or cares
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in after a long train ride up from the City and enjoyed a refreshing smoothie. I got the four play (strawberries, peaches, mango, and watermelon) and it was divine! I also tried the east of the boarder egg roll. It was full of flavor, but also very, very fried. They have some outdoor seating to relax and enjoy your beverage or treat!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little sandwich shop 1 block from the beach. They staff is super friendly and the food is good. Great sandwiches for adults and plenty of kid options if your children a picky. They have outdoor seating and some windows counter stools if the weather isn't good.

Danielle C.

Yelp
Smoothie was good, but our breakfast wraps were not. Both were undercooked (cheese not even full melted) and lukewarm. Place was packed and staff seemed overwhelmed. Given the quality and the price, I'd get breakfast elsewhere.

Yelp
What a nightmare of an experience. This place was recommended to me by a couple friends and the menu looked cute enough online. The first day we were in Montauk we tried to go pick up food and the people nearby were complaining that they had been waiting for an hour so we ditched and went to a different spot in town. The next day upon my friend's insistence we pre ordered and went to pick it up an hour or so later. Starving, I ordered a smoothie (Mucha Maca - $9), banana bread ($4) and two bagels ($4 each I believe). The bagels were incredibly small and not good at all. Granted, as a New York Jew I have high standards, but they were barely edible. Smoothie may have been good when first made but by the time I was drinking it it was melted and meh. Apparently when my friends had gone, the eponymous Jodi was complaining about the crowds and implying that they were trying their best. I get it, but maybe stop accepting orders if you can't handle them? I don't know, the whole thing seemed very chaotic and uncoordinated despite there being multiple easy solutions. The whole shitshow was the epitome of a weird Montauk weekend and I'm really only giving it two stars because it was so ridiculous it was funny.

Yelp
As a vegan in montauk finding Joni's was the best! Many vegan/gf/non vegan/gf options! Ate here for all my meals when visiting- recommend their scrambled tofu, coconut pancakes & Thai me up as a salad. Pricey but that is to be expected in the montauk area & worth paying for being they have the best vegan options. A healthier option of food compared to all the other restaurants. Tables are available to sit outside **as I'm writing this I'm realizing the waffles aren't marked as vegan- unsure if it is because the strawberry butter that is sold separate. Worth asking the staff!

Gina P.

Yelp
We Joni's! My favorite breakfast is the egg white Cali wrap and lunch is ! Hot sauce on the side. #always

Yelp
I recently visited Joni's Kitchen in Montauk and was quite disappointed. The food is significantly overpriced, and unfortunately, the quality does not match the high prices. I expected much better for the cost.

Bryan T.

Yelp
I recently purchased a breakfast burrito from Joni's and was extremely disappointed. Not only was it priced at an exorbitant $19.50, but it was also overly wet/moist and lacked any meat. This is unacceptable considering the price. I expected better quality and value for my money. I won't be returning unless significant improvements are made. BS

Yelp
Theirs avocado toast worth coming all the way from NYC just for it!! The service is always great

Yelp
I'm not sure why the low stars for Joany's kitchen. I had a custom breakfast burrito with cheese, turkey sausage, onion and fresh farm eggs of course. It was really delicious! The organic eggs were very "eggy" and all of the ingredients were fresh. My husband had a quesadilla made with chicken, mushrooms and a bunch of other things. I had a taste and it was quite yummy. It came with a little guac and pico de Gallo. Again, very fresh. We hit the timing right and waited a reasonable amount of time for our food. I could see people getting annoyed if they were impatient with how long it would take. However, there's a reason there's a long line, which built up after we ordered. I think the key is to get there early. The food is really good and delicious. I'll be back.
google avatar

Jordan W.

Yelp
Came here for lunch today and ordered at the window. The wait was about 20 minutes or so but that's mostly because they were quite busy. I had the ole ole which I thought was pretty good. I had it with the hot sauce which was good. The server told me Dave Portnoy comes there all the time - so stop by for a celebrity sighting!
google avatar

Karthik S.

Yelp
This is a cute little spot, the owner is lovely and really attentive, and their banana bread is fantastic. That's all I've tried here, but the menu looks great and I'd definitely try more on my next trip back.

Seymour H.

Yelp
Great on a sunny day, sandwiches are from a fridge pretty eh. Love that they have spin drift.
google avatar

Judy S.

Yelp
This place is a gem - Large sandwiches/ great soups and an Online ordering system that works well. For us - each lunch lasted 2 days - portions are a nice size! Fresh ingredients and friendly service! Went 3 times on a long weekend -- for great take out lunches.
google avatar

Lin K.

Yelp
Really solid breakfast option. Recommend ordering online so you can just grab and go. Make your own breakfast wrap was perfect and tasty. Smoothies were great too! Also have a good selection of cold drinks like kombucha and iced coffee It's pricey but what I expected from the area.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Solid, homemade breakfast. The breakfast wrap looks very small but was surprising filling and very good! My husband enjoyed his omelette. Do not get the turkey sausage. It was very dry and they give you one tiny piece for $3.95. Also, the coffee is very bitter. You're better off getting coffee somewhere else. There are many coffee shops in the area.

Phoebe A.

Yelp
Grilled fish wrap was delicious! And the rest of our group was very happy with their food. While they'd run out of big bags for our order, Joni (I think) found a box for our take away containers and apologized profusely. Everything was fresh and tasty; online ordering was easy; and the food was ready when it said it would be. Would definitely go back!
google avatar

Thom H.

Yelp
Look, Montauk is overrun, so bring patience anywhere you go. Wife & I did a Montauk weekend in June, and loved Joni's breakfast. As with most things, the earlier you get there, the less you'll have to wait (duh?) I wish there were places further west that had breakfast wraps & granola as good as Joni's. Fantastic food, and decent service. Certainly not slacking!

S N.

Yelp
Healthy and interesting menu items. Never had tofu sour cream and it really was delicious in my shrimp tacos and love peace and chicken wraps. The two ladies in the front were so welcoming and friendly. I know one of the women was Maria. She took our orders, answered any questions we had about the menu and is the reason for the five stars and why we went back every day. Yes, in the peak season it will be crowded and there will be a wait but the food is worth it especially if you like Heathy options and want to feel your patronage is appreciated.
google avatar

Melissa A.

Yelp
Fresh ingredients and very gluten free friendly (and any other allergens). Had a delicious homemade chai latte with my wrap!
google avatar

Liz R.

Yelp
We were told to come here by my cousins who swore by it! I am vegan and they said there were tons of options for me and they were not wrong! My husband and I ate here for lunch yesterday and it was FANTASTIC! The staff was wonderful and the food was incredible! I ordered the hail caesar salad and put it into a spinach wrap with tofu and my husband got shrimp tacos. We also got the sautéed spinach/kale blend and the sweet potato fries. Everything was so amazing, we went to go back today and get more food only to be disappointed that they were closed Wednesdays! We'll definitely be back for more food next time were in Montauk! Thanks for the vegan options!!
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
employees here are so rude. no prices on the menu so it's a guessing game when you get to the register. the coffee was awful, go to left hand next door. decent snack variety but so pricey. some vegan baked goods available as well. just bad energy. couldn't get over how unhelpful the staff was. line was out the door for no reason. plenty of other places in town to get overpriced, mediocre food. bad vibes.

Katie M.

Yelp
Came in about 20mins to closing and they were so nice about it! Ordered the shrimp taco and holy crap it was the best I've ever had. Even coming from California! It was overflowing and was pretty sad it ended! Can't wait to come back
google avatar

Emma F.

Yelp
We had one Ole ole and one acai. The ole ole was tastless but the acai was tasty. The service didn't impress us. The girl who took our order had really low energy.

Dev W.

Yelp
Well worth a visit. Solid food served by a friendly well groomed and healthy looking staff.
google avatar

Yelp
Have been coming to Joni's for years each visit to Montauk. They have delicious healthy options for breakfast and lunch. It's always busy so to avoid the line, order ahead (30 mins) and pickup. Staff have always been friendly and helpful.

Kelly H.

Yelp
A little overpriced but a fabulous spot for a cute & healthy breakfast/lunch. The iced coffee was super smooth and the green juice was just what my body needed to recover from the night before. The staff is also very friendly, service is quick, & there's a lot of seating outside :)

Leah T.

Yelp
For a quick, healthy and tasty bite, Joni's is the answer. This is one of the places in Montauk I can continuously come back to and not get tired of. They offer a wide variety of healthy bowls for lunch and breakfast, as well as accommodate to any allergies and food restrictions. I will say that it will always be busy, because it is just that good!! So maybe ordering ahead of time if you're not in the mood to wait. The staff is speedy and very pleasant, after coming multiple times a week i can assure this will be a lovely place for anyone. Overall review: 9.5/10

Ann K.

Yelp
Great quality, tasty food. Wonderful variety on the menu. Best place for breakfast & lunch in Montauk. Warm, friendly staff.
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
Breakfast is pretty good, lunch not so much. The menu looks amazing and we had such high hopes but were so very disappointed. We had breakfast from there two days in a row. Smoothies are delicious, as is their waffle, egg wraps and açaí bowl. Make sure to taste your iced decaf coffee before walking away because on day 2, I happened to do just that and it tasted as if they used cucumber water! The sweet girl at the pickup counter gave me cups filled with ice to pour hot coffee over - not ideal but it was fine. Lunch is another story - not one thing we ordered was good. Fuk Yu was mushy and tasteless. Shrimp tacos were packaged with the tacos on the very bottom of the container making it impossible to grab without them breaking. Kids turkey was skimpy on the turkey. Go for breakfast, grab a coffee next door at Left Hand and find someplace else for lunch
google avatar

Jill G.

Yelp
I wish I could leave zero stars after todays experience. We waited one hour and 15 minutes in the sun with no ETA on when the food would be ready. After asking 3 times, this is what I got for $16. A melted açaí bowl. Very disappointed
google avatar

Elliot R.

Yelp
This is definitely a place you wanna go for breakfast it is really good. It's a bit small inside and the outside seating does have bees so if you're allergic to bees I do not recommend sitting outside. They've got very diverse healthy options for breakfast including smoothies I got the Olé Olé and it was one of the best breakfast wraps I've ever Had. My partner and her mother shared the Cali wrap and they both loved it as well
google avatar

Yelp
Well ,if u call this scramble eggs , to stay , I believe there r a better way of doing it ... Whenever I'm in Montauk, I always think of coming to Joni's , but lately every time I'm here it's just not good , And when I asked for the refound , they staff told me they not able to do that .. pretty disappointed Tho..I do love their gluten free banana bread ...

Yelp
Was super excited to take a drive down to montauk and try this place. I saw the reviews weren't that great but decided to try anyway. We ordered and waited about 15 minutes, not bad considering there were a few others waiting. To start we ordered some smoothies, which were average, and I'll explain why. I just feel like it is extremely rude for a person to sip on a smoothie and choke on piece of ice that never blended...ugh maybe try blending the smoothie a little longer. I ordered the avocado toast. Okay hear me out, I don't think I've ever ordered avocado toast and got served 3 pieces of toast, but only 2 were toasted... not sure if that was intentional or maybe they forgot? Also the avocado was not spread on the toast either, which again, was different. Also the menu clearly states that it is served ON the toast. We also ordered the up in smoke wrap which was messy but good. I think this place has a lot of potential, but the expensive prices are a little ridiculous, especially for the quality and quantity of food you are served. I did like the fact that they have vegan options, but I wish they would work on their presentation.

Molly O.

Yelp
This became our daily staple for our large group over MDW. Whether pre-ordering breakfast açaí bowls, smoothies and egg wraps or swinging by for sandwiches after lounging on the beach all morning our group was consistently impressed with the food quality and the helpfulness of those behind the counter! My personal favorites were the Get Naked smoothie, the Love Peace Chicken Wrap and the chia seed blueberry muffin. There were definitely mornings it was busy with a line out the door but we usually pre-ordered in the morning and it was ready after 25-30 minutes and then we grabbed a couple pastries at the counter before heading out. Overall will be a loyal customer here for years to come!
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
The best healthy breakfast Montauk has to offer! I love the breakfast wrap I get a whole wheat wrap with rice, beans, bacon, egg, cheddar, grilled, with a medium ice coffee everytime. Something about the tortillas they use has me literally going insane whenever we go here. My girlfriend gets another wrap and a smoothie but I prefer the meet cheese eggs and coffee combos personally. I also got a smoothie/slushee here as well which had peach, watermelon and mango and it was super refreshing not too heavy. I also accidentally ordered two carrot juices one time and they were cool about it when I told them I only wanted one. 10/10 will be back at jonies.

Yelp
Loved this place. Picked up food and went to Beach. Omelet was super - no problems there. Breakfast wrap was a little small - but very good. Great Chai tea. GREAT place for Gluten Free treats. GF donuts were the bomb bomb bomb. GF Banana bread was yumm and not too sweet.
