Had an incredible lunch and wine tasting at The Cellar Door yesterday — a truly memorable experience from start to finish. The views alone are worth the visit: sweeping vineyard and mountain scenery that perfectly complement the calm, elegant atmosphere.
The food was absolutely delicious — beautifully prepared and full of flavour, the kind of meal that makes you slow down and savour every bite. And of course, the wines were outstanding, as you’d expect from Jordan Wine Estate — expressive, balanced, and full of character.
A special shout-out to Rebecca, who has hosted both of my recent tastings here. She’s exceptional — warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the wines she pours. On her recommendation, I even gave the Riesling another try (a varietal I’d sworn off for good) — and I’m glad I did! Credit to both Rebecca and the winemaker, because this was the first Riesling I’ve ever found truly drinkable.
All in all, a solid 5-star experience. Beautiful setting, impeccable food and wine, and hospitality that makes you feel genuinely welcome. Jordan remains one of the best wine estates in Stellenbosch for a reason.
