Picture this: you're up at 4:00 to catch the stunning East Coast sunrise from Acadia National Park. A satisfying breakfast afterward is tempting, but most breakfast spots in Bar Harbor open at 6:30 or 7:00, and you can't wait that long. Don't worry--one place opens at 5:00: Jordan's Restaurant.
If this is you, don't hesitate. Go to Jordan's!
In business since 1976 and very busy every morning we passed by during our vacation, Jordan's must be doing breakfast right. So, we went right after our Maine sunrise.
It's a classic New England, home-style breakfast joint serving up local fare. That means they prominently feature wild Maine blueberry pancakes and muffins.
Surprisingly though, there wasn't a lobster something-or-other on the breakfast menu.
It's cute inside, in a rustic, 1950's, sort of way.
How could we help but order a grilled wild blueberry muffin to share? We did, and it was fantastic! So was my bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a toasted English muffin. So was her oatmeal with, you guessed it, blueberries (with a side of bacon for protein, of course).
The staff was friendly, efficient, and plentiful, which isn't always the case in a super-busy breakfast place.
Whatever the reason, if you're in Bar Harbor and don't want to wait for breakfast until everyone else wakes up and does the same, head to Jordan's.
