"Joseph Cheaney & Sons’ new shop tells the story of their shoes’ production. With pegboards in white corian and reeded glasswork, it stitches together the workshop aesthetic of their Northamptonshire factory — beautifully presented at 1:25 scale in a huge glass counter and pride of place at the centre of the space — with an expression in materials of pure luxury." - dn&co.

Had a wonderful fitting consultation with Izzy at the Jermyn St store. She made the whole experience a complete joy! Her knowledge of the whole range of Cheaney shoes is fantastic. Izzy let me to try on all the black toecap oxfords in my price range so that I could make an informed decision. The experience in store and Izzy's knowledge was so good I came away with two pairs of shoes, when I only went in looking to buy one pair. Definitely my new go to shop for shoes!

I had the pleasure of passing by on a Sunday when Julian was working; what a singularly pleasant experience. I was gently guided to the right pair of shoes for a wedding with the utmost of patience and thoughtfulness, the merits and particulars of each pair of shoes was discussed and diligently addressed in turn. Meanwhile my (two year old) daughter needed a good deal of shepherding and attention, Julian remained unfazed and most welcoming. I felt the store was a touch of class without the stuffiness that often pervades these places. There was no hard sell, inveigling or malarkey to speak of - just a lovely experience all round and I left on a cloud Thank you

I want to thank all the staff at Joseph Cheaney & Sons for their wonderful service. The shoes are of the highest quality. The service is friendly with a smile and a welcoming kindness. I've been lucky enough to visit the factory location in Desborough, Northamptonshire, and the Jermyn St & New Bond St locations in London. In particular, I'd like to thank Barry, Julian and Ian. They are so wonderful and friendly. They do not just treat you as a customer. They take the time to have a lovely chat with you, talk about the process of making Goodyear welted shoes and the history of heritage shoe making in Northampton. Lovely lovely people.

One of the best shopping experiences and products I have ever had. Horles was in charge of finding me the right model and right size for my feet. He asked many comprehensive questions between different sizes and models to make sure that I was happy with how it felt, as well as that I was understanding how the shoes should fit. Horles also gave me many tips on how to take care of them and how to properly use them so they can last as much as possible. I was very, very happy to not have bought these shoes online, as I think I would not have gotten the right model or I would not have felt as confident as after trying different models and sizes. 10/10 – a truly great shopping experience, where I can feel the value added by the SA. I will be back for more and I cannot recommend it more.

Excellent service today by Salma who diligently took me through various options with care and patience as I made my first purchase of Cheaney shoes. Very happy with my experience and the purchase and look forward to future purchases if the shoes live up to their reputation.

I was after black chukka boots in wider sizes and, whilst I found some that fit, they were tan not black. Horles in the shop offered to dye them black for me and I accepted. The final result is fantastic and I'm very pleased. In general the service was excellent and Horles was very patient with me repeatedly returning to try on different sizes and styles.

Went to buy a pair of shoe trees for my boots. Kind enough staff, but they tried shoving down shoe trees which were too large and stretched the leather. They made excuses saying that it’s how shoe trees should fit - false information to cover their mistakes. Frankly not recommended. Kindness alone does not cover lacking of knowledge; should have known for price range and have been open to spending just a bit more and gone further down the street.

Writing this review to highlight the exceptional service provided by Salma. I explained to Salma the type of boot I was after, and she brought out a few options that might suit me. Turns out the mens section is where the goodies are at, yey! She answered all my questions about the type of leather used in the shoe making process, and demonstrated the best way to polish and take care of the boots too. Salma made me feel very welcome in the store, and I would definitely return to buy another pair at some point in the future. Go in and find her :)
