Got to sing the National Anthem here a while back. Had an absolute blast and got some great Sunset pictures. It was a fun day at the park with the Renaissance Faire theme that was going on for that particular game. The staff are very friendly and obliging, the atmosphere was fun even though the team did not win the game, and there were lots of fun giveaways from Harris Teeter another local businesses. There was a slight rain delay but there's a beautiful Marshland right behind the stadium and you can get pictures of birds and scenery there that are also very pretty. I have been there once or twice before just to watch ball games as well, and enjoyed myself very much then, too.

Invited on opening night, so we expected it to be busy packed. But like the stadium itself is nice, the flow is okay we also had box seats. So up there the box rooms were very nice inside, but not enough outside balcony seats for everyone in the box to enjoy the game. I feel like that’s something to be checked out before selling those tickets?? Half of the people were inside and the server was overwhelmed. To no fault of her own, it was a lot of people. We just ordered nachos and boiled peanuts. The nachos were legit worse than gas station nachos, they handed us a bag of chips and cheese dip. Okay moving on…the gift shop is tiny and has zero flow, we barely fit. The bathrooms were a mess downstairs it was pretty gross lol. Again it was my first time and I’m aware it was going to be busy so. The fireworks were awesome, we lost the game but overall it was a fun experience. Parking would have been difficult but we had passes but even then had to park in the grass not in the p lot spots. They do have elevators for box seating. The concessions lines were long but the food looked a lot better downstairs, wish we would’ve just gone down to eat.

Such a clean family environment! I fell in love with the fun zone, and the seafood boils they have there! NEVER HAVE I EVER been able to combine seafood and baseball until now! THANK YOU park staff for making our family memories a complete success!!

Google
Concert Saturday night, awesome.. Chandler Moore, a charleston native performance, was out of this world... He did that!!! Cain was excellent as well, and that was 1st time seeing both of them perform. I will do it again.... That concert bless me in so many ways...

Great experience at stadium. Staff and volunteers were great. Unite Charleston was awesome. To see so many give dedicate their lives to God just made Heaven more crowded.

Google

Google
This is one of the nicest stadiums I've ever been to. Seats are great and the concessions are awesome! Great sunset views over the marsh!

Google
Thursday Thursday’s ($1 beers), league champions, firework Fridays, mini games in between innings. All a recipe for a great evening at THE JOE! This is a must experience if you’re a local or visiting this area!

Yelp
The staff we spoke to were very friendly! Clean establishment overall. Food prices very reasonable. Great visit.

Yelp
This is always a great place to go to watch a river dogs game! It could be a little cleaner in the bathrooms and common food areas but it's a baseball stadium so the vibes are there! There are plenty of food options and parking close by! Always a great time here and amazing views of the marsh!

Yelp
I know, I know. It's ballpark food. But it was not the best ballpark food. I loved the ticket buying and check-in to the ballpark process. Real efficient. The went downhill. Teriyaki brisket and roll lacked any flavor. And a lean piece had more fat than was used to fry the flavorless spring roll. It was the 5th inning and I went for a footlong brat. Out. I then tried for the sausage. Out. I was about to opt for another combo when I heard the cashier next to me say they were out of fries. This is the fifth inning and they are already out of food? My wife went for a giant pretzel, a safe bet. I went for a chili cheese dog combo that requires me to assemble the whole thing. Sad food experience but great ballpark experience if we did not go for any food.

Yelp
The hot dogs are served on slices of bread not buns! Besides the worst hot dogs I've ever had, it's a great place to visit

Yelp
Went to a river dogs game tonight. It was a good place to catch a game. The stadium isn't too big, or too crowded. Parking and the walk to the entrance was easy, the price per ticket was reasonable, $20 per seat up close. Food and beer was pricey but it was expected.

Yelp
Another great evening cheering on the River Dogs!! Loved the food selection from Wicked Sausage and Snacks. They were accommodating for us with gluten allergies! Parking was easy since we bought an online pass and getting in the gate was a breeze. Friendly reminder to check the bag policy before you come :) Also, whoever was running the sound board kept us laughing and entertained all evening long!

Yelp
Nice small-feel baseball park, used by the RiverDogs minor league and Citadel military college baseball teams. The lower levels have fold-down plastic seats like you often see at major league stadiums, but the middle and upper levels have metal bleacher style seating (at least they have metal back rests so you can lean back). Recommend bringing a seat cushion for the bleacher seats. They have netting around the edge of the seating area to help protect fans from foul balls. Expect to pay $5 for parking. They've gone to 100% cashless payments during COVID, so bring a credit card. No large bags or purses allowed inside, just small clothes for women and diaper bags. Use the main front entrance as the side one is for handicapped only; the security person there can get snippy even if she's just standing there doing nothing. Some people just need to relax. The concessions were a bit more expensive than I expected for a minor league team. No $2 hotdogs here. Even bottled water is $3. Sodas $3. Nachos $4. Expect to pay about $12+ per person for food and drinks. I wasn't overly impressed with their food options, but the cheeseburger and bbq sandwich were both good (added coleslaw for $1 to my sandwich), as were the fries. On Thursdays they have $1 beer nights, but cups are small. I guess they set aside a certain number of kegs because they ran out around the 6th inning at all but one location. Overall a nice place to see a minor league ballgame, even if the RiverDogs are affiliated with the Yankees. Don't know that I'd do this regularly, but a few times a season would be enjoyable.

Yelp
Would that parking was closer. The flat lot across the street from the minor league baseball stadium is intricate, with one entrance and one exit. Now that the Westedge (where the new Publix is located) is completed, it has a garage, which I recommend, allowing a separate exit to Hagood Street. Unfortunately, it was flooded due to the high tide and record rainfall. As to the stadium, it is a wonderful place, where the Ashley River is over the outfield fence. The Riley Club on the second floor is large, fully air conditioned with ample and comfortable seating, including some sofas, and large, multiple flat screen TVs, with half of them showing the current Riverdogs games here at "The Joe."

Yelp
I went here last night for La Traviata an Opera show put on by Holy City Arts & Lyric Opera . This was my 1st time at a Opera show and loved it!

Yelp
The stadium is great! It's clean. They offer the typical concession stand items--hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos, fries, pretzels and sodas. I don't drink beer but I think it's great that they offer local craft beer. Charlie, the mascot, walks around during the games, taking pictures with fans. There are games and face painting for kids. There are great views of the sunsets. The restrooms aren't awful. Parking is $5. They accept cash or cards.

Yelp
I haven't been to many baseball stadiums in other cities to know better, but I'm a big fan of the Joe Riley Park for local events. The park's main use is obviously baseball. I've been to a handful of games here and the seats all offer a pretty good view. The concessions are reasonably priced for a ballpark, and since Charleston's a foodie city, you'll find more to choose from than your run-of-the-mill hot dogs and peanuts. They have vegetarian concession offerings, beers, and beer milkshakes (I don't have the guts to try it, but everyone says they're tasty). Along with games, other events are held- from yoga classes to 5Ks and beer festivals. There's even a VIP indoor area, the Riley Park Club, which you can rent. I've been there to hear a speaker and it's beautiful inside with a great view of the field. Also, you can't beat the sunsets over the Ashley River here!

Yelp
A grand site for catching baseball. The park is modern, the view is outstanding & the food will satisfy even the most discerning palates while offering tradition. Take the family & have a great day! Also note great concerts are performed here as well!

Yelp
This year we have gone to a few baseball games and I had forgotten how fun they can be! I recommend you try the gator dog!! It was great. We were there on dollar beer night and was impressed at the size of the cups. I honestly expected tiny ones for $1. But they were actually a decent size. Everyone I saw at the food and drink stands were very friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. I'll definitely be at the payoff games!!
google avatar

MisterT W.

Yelp
Low A level baseball on the field (clear talent tho on both teams) but high quality atmosphere, talent, and amenities in the stands. I believe The Citadel team also plays here in a very nice, family friendly atmosphere. Can't beat minor league baseball!
google avatar

Yelp
The Joe is spot on for a baseball game. While the Joe is know for hosting the Riverdogs, there are many other awesome events held here. The Joe is a great venue from baseball to the Brewfest to private events. We were lucky enough for our kickball league to rent for the finals for some extra fun. The seats are comfy, the place is clean, and the food and drink is abundance. If you are a fan of hot dogs, go to the opposite end of the entrance for all things hot dogs and relatively shorter lines. The Riverdogs employees and crews are attentive, friendly and entertaining. Go Dogs!

Yelp
I don't know what made me think of "The Joe" and the Charleston River Dogs today, but funnily enough 2012 tickets went on sale yesterday!! It's been a few years since I've been to this awesome little stadium for a game, but it is one of my favorite things to do when in Charleston. The Joe is clean, easy to navigate and just a cool place to hang out on a nice afternoon and watch some minor league ball. Added bonus, food and drinks are WAY cheaper than we're all used to at Turner Field! Going to a River Dogs game is perfect for families, or for a fun date. Definitely check them out if you're a baseball fan and find yourself in C-town!

Yelp
Take...Me out to the balllllllll gammmmme. Nothing beats a nice night of baseball. The Joe offers a fun environment for all ages with actives to keep the kiddos busy when they can't sit still anymore. Don't forget Firework Fridays!!!. Sometimes it gets a little too warm to handle thanks to this lovely Charleston weather but luckily there are plenty of spots to wet your whistle. Only down fall is that some days they can be pretty busy and I've waited for over an hour for a hot dog. Would be nice if they could add more concessions. Overall it's an enjoyable experience and can't wait to go again.

Yelp
Great park to explore the Charleston water front! The views from the pier are amazing! You get to see the famous bridge, aircraft carrier, sailboats and dolphin to boot! Swings are strategically place along the pier and plenty of seating. At the entrance there is a fountain for the kids to cool off in if so desired, we seen some big kids in it as well. Best of all it is one of the many free activities to do with family while in Charleston!

Yelp
What can one say about baseball at The Joe. It is minor league ball with all the whistles and bells and my has it changed over the years. The RiverDogs are going major leagues style now. There is a giant Charlie entrance balloon in left field that the players run out to. Two jumbo trons screens and sushi dogs. Yes sushi dogs. Thursday Thursday's is now Mondays with $1.00 beers and hot dogs and themes and promotions for all the eye to see. There is a buzz now at The Joe. You may see a few errors and not many home runs, but you will have a good time and for a $10.00 ticket, it is a great way to spend 3 hours.

Yelp
I love the Joe!!!! I've been here for Riverdogs games and now college baseball (CSU and Citadel). There is not a bad seat in the house, though I love sitting in section 203 on the first base side. The Citadel game we attended recently was general admission so my son and I sat next to the visitor's dugout behind the fencing. Great seats!!! There are tons of bathrooms at the Joe and lots of food options. For college games, only one concession stand was open with the usual grub (hot dogs, nachos, etc). We always opt for the hot dog and fries- never disappoints! Definitely recommend checking out games here!
google avatar

Yelp
Great venue for a baseball game. Parking was free when I went. My seat location was great in section 115. The hot dogs, beer and boiled peanuts were great! The service was excellent!
google avatar

Timothy A.

Yelp
Where else can you get front row seats for $15 on the 1st base line, enjoy an evening with the family, and on special occasions (like last night) listen to Bill Murray sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch. This is my 2nd game here at "The Joe" and I'll be back many many times. I've been to several parks throughout the Carolina's, and this is one of the best atmospheres around.

Yelp
Home of the Riverdogs and other special events but mainly the Riverdogs! What a nice facility. We had great seats behind home plate and our view was fantastic. The seats highup in section 206 are great because there is actually a little AC that creeps out and helps with the Charleston Heat. I hope to use those seats again. The amount of different options for stadium food was amazing! Really! From shaved ice to fancy hot dogs and plenty of things to drink including local IPAs, your normal beers, lemondade, soda, etc! Just a great spot with a great view and location. Parking area is substantial and not too expensive so a good value. We will be back!

Yelp
"The Joe" is the place to be to enjoy baseball on a hot summer night. I love that this venue isn't just limited to that, but puts on a variety of events. I have really enjoyed this for not only a game on the regular but for Nash Bash and the Ballpark Festival of Beers, just to name a few. Very spacious for these festivities. Gotta love all your typical ballpark fare of beer and hotdogs. I had the chance to check out the new Riley Club Park and it is such a nice addition. A little different vibe from your typical viewing spot, but is nice to be able to hang outside or step inside for a bite from some local restaurants. Not to mention certain beer and wine along with the food included with your ticket. I look forward to the next event that brings me there.
google avatar

Sydney G.

Yelp
You can't help but love The Joe! It's a great place to come for a festival or a ball game. I love the dollar beer section and the inventive and delicious hot dogs you can get. The food at The Joe is better than most stadium food, and the staff is very friendly. Plus, you just can't beat that view!

Yelp
I always have such a blast every time I go to a game. The tickets are pretty affordable and the eats are pretty tasty. If your feeling frisky, give the shrimp and grits on a stick a go.

Yelp
It's always fun on that field even the last time I went they lost we still enjoyed it. Great atmosphere staff is always friendly no lines everything is very quick and clean I love it I want there couple times definitely will be going back

Yelp
Review not for baseball games but for the venue in general: I've actually never been here for a game, but did come here for the Crafty Bastards Arts and Crafts Fair today. It was a blast and a very nice venue for the event. I'm sure it would be a great small stadium for other events especially games. They had two layers of vendors as well as food trucks that were able to drive onto the field. We had a blast and felt the stadium was very clean as a host for sporting events. They had ample bathrooms available as well as a souvenir store and bar area. Parking wasn't great right next to the stadium, but we did have to pay $5 to park at the riverfront park nearby. Not a long walk at all, but I always hate paying for parking even though it's a necessary evil!
google avatar

Christian S.

Yelp
What's not to like? It's a great place to watch a baseball game. There's not a bad seat in the house, plenty of entertainment, a bunch of food options, friendly game day staff, activities for kids, and there's always a giveaway or promotion going on!
google avatar

Walter S.

Yelp
I cant think of anything wrong with this ball park. The only thing more reasonably priced than the seats are the beers, $8 for a 32 oz ipa?? wow sign me up! The fact is, all the seats are good and you are right on top of the action, lots of opportunities to catch a foul ball and nice views of the marshlands all around. Anything Bill Murray is doing is cool no matter how you slice it as far as I'm concerned, and he should be proud of his little park here. Nice job Big Earn.

Yelp
Home of Minor League Baseball team Charleston Riverdogs ( Used to be The Rainbows ). Team is owned ( or owned in part ) by Bill Murphy ( of Saturday Night Live & Ghostbusters Fame ). There affiliated with the New York Yankees ( from 2005-present). Great place to take your son if there into baseball. I plan to take mine once he is old enuff to go ( at least for 1 game ).

Yelp
The Joe is a perfect venue for concerts and baseball games. Their food and drink menu is excellent, and the staff is friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
The only downside of this stadium is the intense heat from not being under a cover. Everything else is wonderful. Clean, plenty of food options and always something fun for the kids and (adults)
google avatar

Yelp
I loved the game at "The Joe." The park looked very nice and the fans were respectful, unlike other stadiums I've visited. The concession food, my family and I had pizza, nachos, and a corndog, was ok but the Kona Ice was amazing, I had a pina colada flavored snow cone. One thing I would recommend is to avoid the funnel fries because they were not worth $5 because they didn't taste like good funnel cake. Our tickets were only $8 a piece and we got to sit 7 or so rows behind the diamond. At the park, they had tons of activities for kids. In one area they had a bouncy house and a bullpen where people could see how fast they could pitch, I personally pitched at 39 mph. In another area in the seating section, kids could have their faces painted. I also enjoyed viewing the marshes from the park and we even spotted a egret. Overall I really enjoyed my time at the park and would come back again.

Yelp
I have now been to 3 Riverdogs games here and I've had a great time at all of them! The last two I was even able to bring my dog along too! It is a positive atmosphere where everyone is included and asked to contribute whether it's dancing for the camera or playing games to win something, there's always something going on! The food is good with plenty of options from hotdogs and hamburgers to ice cream and beer milkshakes! We went on a Monday for $1 hotdog and $1 beer night with friends and it was a blast! We also went last weekend to Bark for you Brew which was a beer tasing with your dogs which also included tickets to the game and I highly recommend it to everyone next time!!

Yelp
Nice park. Good place to watch a baseball ballgame or a concert. Parking can be a nightmare if the wrong time or if there is flooding downtown.
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
In spite of the Dogs losing the last two nights, this was a great two evenings. Clean facilities, excellent concessions and perfect aesthetics make the Joe a place to be in the summer months.
google avatar

Erin K.

Yelp
Nice stadium, good baseball and excellent fireworks. Came hungry and left hungry. Spent a good part of the game waiting in lines for food. Waited in line for over ten minutes to get the kids hotdogs and fries, then another ten minutes for them to finish cooking a corndog. Got the kids fed and then it was time to feed the adults. I waited in line again for their much advertised gourmet hotdog and to my disappointment they were out of pretty much everything. Ordered a Hawaiian Dog, out of that. Tried to order a Kimchi Dog and they were also out of that. I headed to a different stand and got shrimp and grits on a stick. Yuck, mushy, greasy and no flavor. At this point I just gave up. Settled for getting a bite to eat on the way home. Next time we will eat before the game and just come for the baseball and fireworks.
google avatar

JP S.

Yelp
Heads and shoulders above the entertainment value of a Major League game (because you can get up and personal with the players). Less commercialism here too. Quick to gain access; good parking. No long lines or crowded concession stands. Seats are comfortable; but as my wife stated when she attended games at the "old" Joe stadium, it was a more intimate feeling; better fan participation and JC.. the food was better. Had nasty repercussions from the foot long corn dogs (over-fried) and went into fluid overload from all the salt on the soft Pretzel. Please bring back the traditional weenier in the bun.
google avatar

Roger Y.

Yelp
One of the best minor-league parks in the country. I wish they didn't play the sound system so loud during the Riverdogs games.

K A.

Yelp
Loved watching the RiverDogs this ball park has a lot of energy. Always action in between innings to keep the kids both young and old entertained. Located along the Ashley River, a breeze is always welcome during the muggy June games. Ball players are willing to sign autographs and people throw balls to the crowd often. We bought the giant pretzel knot for $15 and it easily could feed 4 although it says it feeds 2. It was basically a loaf of bread shaped like a pretzel and made to order so be prepared to wait.
