I leave this review because of Eibar who has been my long time hair stylist and makeup artist. I follow him wherever he goes because his work Is unmatched. He also travels if needed but mostly I see him in the salon. Soon you will see Eibar will be your go to for everything soon too <3

I been coming to this spa for the past 15 years. Service has definitely changed. Before reception lady cant remember her name used to greet and offer tea/ water before or after the treatment and now you only get a DRY Hello. She seemed bothered when you ask her a question for pricing or any other treatment related question. The only reason why I still keep going there is because ESPERANZA is the best at what she does. She is sweet and caring and knows how to do facials. When I do my facial my face is not swollen/red and looks super clean and shiny!!! I would rate this location a 1 star due to reception service but because of my technician ESPERANZA I rated them a 5. If she ever leaves this place I will stop going there.

I have had many facials and by far this was THE BEST ONE I'VE EVER HAD!! The lady that helped me, Nelissa was awesome! You could tell she takes pride in her job. She suggested a great facial and even spoke to me about ways I can continue to treat my skin day to day. Its refreshing to find a place where customer service is taken to the next level! Found my new favorite spot!!! Great prices as well!

I got my full legs, bikini, and underarms waxed. The lady was nice and was fast. Maybe a little too fast. However, the next day after letting my skin rest and taking a shower I realized that there were still patches of hair left behind. I wouldn’t mind if it was a little, but it is very noticeable especially in my legs. The price was good, but if I have to go somewhere else & pay more just to have all the hairs removed then so be it.

Evelyn is the masseuse I have been used for the past 2 month. Bought packages for the fat reduction and cavitation massages and she is excellent. She is very curious and knowledgeable about her job. Massages are working and I recommend then very highly.

Today was my second time there and I have no complaints. Only been there for massages and had them both with Esmeralda, she has amazing hands, super attentive and made me feel comfortable.

I came in for a “special” facial. I usually go to my routine place for my facials, but I wanted to support local small businesses, so I came here. I’m not one to bruise or scar easily, however, it’s been THREE weeks and my face is still scarred from the most painful extractions I’ve ever had up to this day… extractions should never hurt as much as they did and then still leave your pores in a similar condition as you came in…my esthetician seemed like she didn’t want to be there and half as*ed the facial, she was constantly on her phone for a majority of the facial. The jelly mask was cool, and the establishment itself was nice. Maybe will try again with another esthetician for a better experience.

I was there this morning and it was a pleasure having esperanza doin my face burning my pecas she was adorable so professional and pleasant and friendly I highly recomend this place ❤️ another lady also welcome me offered me tea or coffee it was very sweet from her very nice place

My review is solely based on my facial with Heidy and Belgica. I've been following Heidy on Instagram for a while and I was finally able to get in on one of the days she was in NYC. The whole facial experience was out of this world. I received a dermaplaning facial and it was amazing. My face felt smoother than a baby's bottom. The work was outstanding. Usually she offers clients mimosas, coffees and all types of goodies. With covid rules in NY it was impossible but I still enjoyed my facial. I had been breaking out a lot and it had been a while since I was able to get my face cleaned out like this. I came out of my appointment doing a happy dance and with a glowing face. I hadn't felt that way in forever. My face looks amazing and she provided a treatment plan that I hope I can stick with. The only downside here is the location isn't too glamorous or spa-like. I wish it had a little more TLC and I wish it was a bit more appealing. Other than that, as I said, facials with Heidi and Belgica are out of this world. Parking situation isn't the best so make sure to arrive in time to be able to park in the nearest parking garage. Facial is a 5 out of 5

Wow! Hidden gem! I've passed this place so many times. I finally got a couples massage and Julianna was the best! Can wait to go back.

This spa is by appt only. I can only speak on the Brazilian wax. I came here for the first time Trying Brazilian waxing they have a lot of choices chocolate , candle, regular so depending on your skin sometimes if you're sensitive some may or may not work for you. I stuck with the regular and the good thing about waxing is that it does help keeping your skin lighter and it last a lot longer than razors so it has very great benefits. The price was reasonable like 39$ so I came here for a while. The staff were so sweet and helpful and the place was clean. The reason i stopped coming here it's cause I went to another location called "hibba" on 59th st and I realized for some reason at Hibba the experience it was not as painful and my skin was also not as red. I think being that it was my first time waxing at the spa I thought it was normal to have your skin so sensitive!!! and red. But at hibba it was like wow way more gentle and care and no red! They have a lot of other services however and the place seems to have a lot of regular clients. I would prob go for a massage but not for waxing.

I had a great experience during my facial; I highly recommend this business for facial and massage services. When you leave your face is red after the facial treatment however it gets better and become clear the next day;I was happy with my results!

I was hesitant to go here but it was worth it. I choose the "special" facial, I have recently been having trouble throughout my chin area with cysts that go deep under the skin. Josefina Reyes, not the owner, gave me the facial. She was very sweet and professional. Her hands are gentle which was great for when we got to the extractions! She asked if I was ok with her lancing a few stubborn acne cyst which I agreed. Exactly what I needed! Today is the day after the facial and there is minimal redness on the spot where the biggest cyst was and my chin looks smooth. I would definitely see Josefina again.

So I came here in the past and most recently. The girl who did my nails in the past was great but unfortunately she's no longer there. This place isn't very welcoming to people who speak English. I called before to make an appointment. I spoke to someone who understood everything I said and wanted. A simple gel manicure and decal. I was told I could be there at 4:30. I get there 3 minutes early. They tell me they're running a little behind. There are 3 workers and only one is actually working. I sat there for 45 minutes waiting patiently for my turn just to find out they can't do what I requested. Waste of time. If you don't speak Spanish don't come here.

Iris is who I go to for my facials and beauty treatments. She does an amazing job and knows what she is doing. Very professional and knowledgeable. Always up to date on what's new and trending. If you want amazing skin she's your girl.

I love this spa. Excellent customer service, the location is clean, always smells like essential oils, soothing waterfall background music, the massages are worth the price. You will leave feeling brand new and relaxed. They serve chamomile tea at the end of your massage. I recommend this place !

I could give this place 5 stars but Rosie from the nail salon took two off for the whole team. Every time I come to get my manicure and pedicure. So here's the list: 1) she always eats while having costumers 2) she's always on the phone gossiping with someone else 3) she treats her coworkers better than her costumers and by better I mean she doesn't even acknowledge customers she doesn't know personally 4) gossips to people in person WHILE cutting cuticles which led her to cut my toes 5) I saw her pour dirty water from someone's manicure into the pedicure tub and then sit a person down for pedicure without washing the tub. This places charges $55 for mani and pedi. Please, let's upgrade the service too. The massages are the bomb here!!!!

This spa is worth the long train ride. They take there time and you leave feeling so much better. I only wish they had another location in lower manhattan.

I got a mani/pedi done here a couple hours ago by a woman named Iris. She was really sweet and polite. She made sure everything was perfect and everything was I was satisfied. the place is kind of small. Only two people can be getting a mani and pedi at a time-- luckily I didn't have to wait. pricing isn't so bad, overall I paid 55 and my nails were gel so I think that's fine.

I decided to stop in for a manicure on the weekend, which is in a separate smaller storefront from the main spa. The woman said she was busy, could I come back in 45 minutes? I also asked the cost and she said $15. When I came back, I got a decent manicure, but it didn't have all the little flourishes that I've come to expect from other places in NYC. I also asked about making an appointment in the future, but she said it was just better to stop by. I ended up being charged $10, although she sent me over to the main storefront to pay. I previously got a blowout for $20 from the hair salon (although, as far as I can tell, they don't do haircuts) which is in yet another storefront. Overall, I would recommend them as a good place to go if you're in the neighborhood.

My go-to all service spa in NYC! I've gotten waxes, mani/pedis, a blowout, facials, massages, sauna, and even cool sculpting sessions here and nothing ever disappoints. Excellent service, super warm and accommodating staff, top of the line products and machinery... seriously my favorite place to relax and unwind. def recommend!

This place would be better IF the ladies did not gossip while giving you a massage,gave you unsolicited advice, or try to sell you everything from facials, makeup, and other procedures. Seriously, give me my massage and STOP with the business. The place can look better. The only pro is that it's 15 minutes away from home. This place needs improvement.

Not the greatest, not the worst. Came here with a friend and used a gift card my husband had gotten me. We wanted mani/pedis. It was a bit of a surprise that there were only two chairs for manicures and two seats for pedicures - the place is quite small. (This is only for the nail salon.) Because we came together, we wanted to get everything done together as well, so it took a while longer. We were there for almost two hours. The service itself was fine. Nothing spectacular. The girls are very nice, but I felt like it wasn't the most sterile environment. My girl dropped some of the utensils a few times, which worried me. I got shellac done, and it feels sticky now, like it wasn't finished off properly. Also, $55 for a mani/pedi seems on the expensive side.

Really good spa, great service. They have been in business for a long time and have always been attentive to customers. I use this spa once every few months for a massage and I am always satisfied and happy

This is where I go for my waxing. After trying many different places in the neighborhood, I made an appointment at Josephine's and was given an appointment with Esperanca and she is who I go to for my waxing. Her room is clean and private. She makes sure that I leave hair free and feeling good. The combination of price and quality work for me especially if it's for maintenance.

I went for a massage and noticed they use ultra sound gel as well as target oils. I would've expected better products since they have over 20 years of experience. Didn't like the massage either.

I can only speak on the Lymphatic Drainage Massages. I purchased a package of 10 and came here for the first time after this place was recommended to me. It's pretty small and cozy. I believe the girl who has been doing my massages (only see her) name is Lenny. She is very professional and good at what she does. She has been very good and informational every step of the way. They are pretty prompt on appointment management so they get good points from me on this.

I recently visited Josephine's Salon for a pedicure and got the absolute worst Infection on my toe I have ever seen In my life. She cut me and did not take proper care of It which led my toe to swell Incredibly. I will not be visiting this mediocre poor excuse for a salon ever again In my life! Fail! I will now be checking for license's for my next experience and spa.

I went few months ago and place is nice(interior decoration). What i didnt like was when i was getting my facial. They dont put u in a private room as they would do when giving the massage. I heard all the noise from the lobby. They on their cellular phone while doing the service. I had to tell her to get off the phone while she was doing my toe nails. I found that to be really ghetto. Didnt felt like i was in a spa.

Extremely unprofessional. I called on a Wednesday to make appointments for myself and two others to get a massage, pedicure and facial on that coming Sunday at 11am, and when we showed up, they had no record of my call and said they were booked. I even showed the receptionist my phone history of when I called and the five minute conversation. Never trying this place again- ruined our Sunday morning.

I came to Josefines Spa for a facial with my sister. You need to make an appointment, no walking's in are accepted. The place looks really nice. The ambiance is pretty relaxing I would say. They put you in a separate room give you a robe to put on. I had Egna she's really friendly gives you tips on how to keep your skin healthy. The only thing I would say I didn't like was that I thought the facial consist more, but that's just my opinion. I came out looking horrible with a bunch of red bumps but that's what you get out of a facial.

Recently moved into the area and decided to go here instead of my regular place for a gel manicure, pedicure and eyebrow wax. The girl who did my mani and pedi was very nice, but my nails looks awful. My nails are filed uneven and the paint is bulging in spots. I didn't ask for her to correct it while I was in there because she was too busy conversing with other customers that came in and I had been in there for too long and just wanted to leave. When I had to go next door for the eyebrow wax I was put in a room immediately and taken care of but the owner or desk manager charged me $2 more than their website states for aa easy eyebrow wax. $10 is outrageous for a subpar job. Everything was a total waste of $60 and I will not be going back to test the other services that they offer.

Love Yomary... knows what she's doing when it comes to waxing. Decoded to stop by the spa, even though she was on vacation. I got there a little bit late, but on top of that had to wait 45 minutes extra. Plus, the girl didn't even know what I was getting done. Unacceptable

Being new to the neighborhood i was looking for an affordable facial and massage. i chose the hydrating oxygen facial and wow - Excellent job. I've had a couple of dozen facials in my life and This was well worth the price. I also booked a massage and they did a great job. The massage was the perfect amount of pressure, not too soft, not too strong. I am definitely going back next month!!!

I'm not too sure on what the name of the women I got my Brazilian wax. But she didn't do such a good job. I still had some hairs left. I was hoping she thought I was getting too swollen to pluck a few off or something but its just too much!!she was middled age and claimed to be working there for some time.on the bright side she was pretty comforting (since it was my first time waxing) so when it comes to how they service us is okay. But as I mentioned I don't think she did such a good job with the wax so I will continue to try different spas until I find the right one. This 1 definitely isn't the right one for me.

I recieved a Brazilian Bikini wax here. its super clean and the woman (don't know her name) was super quick, didn't hurt that bad, and got the job done right. I would definitely return again but the only thing is that they're a bit pricey. another minor downfall about coming here is that a majority of the staff don't know much english. i had to be out on hold twice for them to find a staff member that spoke english so that i could book an appointment.

I went there few days ago and I can't wait to go back , I went for a massage , it was my first time over there and I can say that was absolutely fantastic and real relaxing massage , you can ask about the lady's name ALEXANDRA , she's professional & good , so I recommend this salon for people

It's my birthday and I'm using the Christmas present that my husband and son gave me. Just what mama needed. My masseuse Linda was wonderful!!!! The only complaint was when she started to use her elbows on back massage it hurt like hell. When I told her she immediately apologized and did something that brought me back to my tranquil place. I wish I booked 90 minutes. Next time I will. A gem in the Heights that I will tell my Uptown friends about. Thank you.

Im getting pimpels since i started visit this place for facial and when i called the lady that use to do me the facial to asked her what kind of cream could i use she just play around and did not answer my question. How can they say that they are professional? I will never recommend that person =margarita

I have been here twice for a Brazilian bikini wax, and they did a great job each time. It costs only $35, which is affordable for pretty much any city. They are doing construction, so the place itself doesn't look great, and the towels that they use are looking a little worn, but the service itself was fast, efficient, and definitely well-priced. I will be coming here for my bikini waxes from now on. I made an appointment this last time, but the previous time just walked in and they accommodated me. I would give them a call just to check.

OMG! This place is great. And Dahlia was amazing. I hadn't had a Brazilian in 2 years. It was pain-less, efficient and she was friendly. I knew I was in the right place when she busted out the tweezers at the end of the waxing. The only reason I took off a star, which has NOTHING to do with Dahlia, was because Winter was right. The women at the front were talking and nearly forgot to give me my change. But otherwise, go there!

I come for Massages, today was my second time and the 1 hour massage is amazing! I come out so relaxed and brand new!

I have been going to Josephine's Spa for a few years now. I usually get my eyebrows done with Dahlia and brazilian wax done with Veronica. I have absolutely no complaints. The only thing is that they need a policy on no double dipping for the brazilian wax.

It should be noted that my review is for the NAIL SALON Josephine's runs right next door to their spa. On a scale from 1-10, they receive a 1. No music playing and poorly executed service. I have been a loyal customer at Josephine's for a few years, going regularly to be serviced by Dalia. Her expertise and excellent customer service is what has kept me coming back. Recently I went for my regular visit and decided that I wanted to get a manicure right after. I usually go elsewhere for my nails, but due to time constraints I opted for Josephine's nail salon to avoid travel time. I was seated immediately, but neither of the two stations were set up as they should have been. The lady doing my manicure had to get up several times in order to get the tools she needed. She did not ask if I wanted my cuticles cut. Instead she proceeded to aggressively cut them and obviously has little experience handling tools, because she cut me deeply on the corner of my thumb by digging WAY too deep with the cuticle cutter. After leaving a hideous gash on my finger, I selected my color and was told that I would be charged $3 extra for selecting an OPI nail polish. That's a first. I have been getting manicures for years and have never been charged extra for polish other than top coats. The woman in charge explained that she purchased OPI to use for gel manicures and that I was welcome to choose another color. The problem? The OPI I originally selected was the ONLY red they had to offer. Not necessarily fair. I was forced to pay extra due to their lack of stock. She also felt the need to tell me that Josephine's does not want to invest in OPI and Essie polish, so she personally went out and bought the polishes that were available (which was her way of justifying the $3 additional charge). How is that the customer's fault or problem? Employees who air their company's dirty laundry are unprofessional. As a true Dominican would say, ella estaba de chimosa. Finally, attempting to dry my nails was a nightmare. There was only one dryer (for the entire place), which left me no choice but to sit at the one that was shutting off every two minutes. The fans inside the machine were full of dust and seemed to be getting jammed because of it. Took my nails triple the time to dry. ..Needless to say, the tip was non-existent.

I bought one of those cool deals from groupon I got 3 Brazilian wax for 39 dollars which is an awesome deal. I got my waxing done by Veronica she was really fast which I liked I was done in about 10 min amazing! Yes it was a bit painful but then again waxing is always painful.

I went to Josephine's Spa this past weekend and my general experience was great. The place was clean, the staff was polite and helpful. I made my appointment online and they were ready and waiting when I got there on time at 12pm. The started my facial, etc., immediately. The room was clean, the staff were professionally dressed. Ummm, it was like my 3rd facial in my whole life, I thought it was gonna leave my face totally red and marked up, but I left looking pretty normal. All in all, it was a great experience. I think the prices were competitive, I called other places. Umm, that's about it? I am definitely going back soon. And I'm not a spa going person.

I get my eyebrows done at the spa and they are excellent, I get my mani and pedi done at the nail place they are good but they do not massage your feet and hands. For the hands they make you blend in the cream on your own hands and for the feet they quickly blend it in. I feel for 35 they should at least add a one min massage to your hands and feet like they do in regular chinese nail places. I do my hair at the salon candida does it. She does an excellent job!! Always well done professional and consistent.

My husband bought me a mini spa day package for Valentines Day to this spa. The package was to include a facial, hot stone massage, a mani and a pedi. The facial was ok. The massage was not a hot stone massages. I clarified with the friendly lady at the front desk and my massage therapist before my appointment and both confirmed I was DEFINATELY a getting a hot stone massage. I was still relaxed and happy with what I got despite this misunderstanding. I asked the front desk lady if I could give a tip to my massuce with my debit card. She said I could but went back to her computer and just ignored me. I even asked again if I could tip before I went to my mani and pedi and she didn't reply. After my facial and simple massage I was was guided into the cold to go into the mani/pedi store located next door. It was there I waited an hour to be seen. When I was seen, there was only one woman attending 5 ladies ( all getting manis and pedis). She was very hard to communicate with and continuously asked the other ladies to translate for her. When I was given a seat to soak my feet in for my pedi, I was left for another hour!!! No instruction or explanation as to why this was taking so long. My mini spa day turned into an entire day. Hours of this was just waiting to be seen when this appointment was made a week ago. I just moved to this neighborhood and was so excited to be only a block from a beautiful looking spa. Sadly I will NEVER come here again. The hospitality of the manicurist was appalling. She was the slowest woman I have ever had a mani and pedi from. When she finally got to me she was sighing heavily while doing my nails and looking out the window while filing them making no effort to hide that she would rather be any place else but there. I felt so unwelcome, I became very emotionally upset as I was under the hand dryer. I was the last person in the place and felt extreme pressure to leave so the manicurist(" (Tiki) could go home. I had to cancel everything I needed to accomplish for my evening because I had no idea how long this would take nor was I told when I would be done. Do not go to this place!!!!! I felt very discriminated at this place and tried my hardest to be friendly despite my limited Spanish. I really wanted to like this place and be part of this neighborhood community but this was certainly an eye opener for me. I know that I am not welcome here.
