On Black Friday 2024, I placed an order on journelle.com for two sets of lingerie, four items total. One might think that they'd be ready to do business that day. I live near one of their NY stores, and selected the option to pick up the order from the store near me. Their website indicated it would be1 - 3 business days.
After five days, I hadn't heard from them, so I started calling. Customer Service did not answer regardless of the day or time I called. Customer Service at Jourmelle never picks up! The only option for service is via text message, but Customer Service takes about six to eight hours to respond to texts. When I finally got a response as to why I hadn't heard from them, I was told that two items I ordered were not in stock for the sizes and colors I ordered. I inquired as to whatc olors were in stock for the size I ordered, and I requested that they ship the other two items in my order to the store to be picked up immediately.
Because of their slow responses and how long it took fort hem to "check the warehouse," it was days before I got the information I needed, but they finally sent the two out of stock items in a different color to the store. However, because they were so slow and because they didn't honor my initial request, now the other two items in my order were out of stock. I was so angry.
Customer Service later explained that, "The set did not just sell out in the time that you reached out to us. It sold out before you even ordered it. Our online inventory system is slow and it doesn't know that it is sold out until it is shipped and leaves the warehouse." The best illustration of how broken Journelle's online operations are is that, after I received that message, I went to their website, and I could still place an order for all the out of stock items. They were still accepting orders for items that are known to be out-of-stock!!
I was willing to walk away from the entire order, but Ruby Jenkins, one of their store employees, reached out to me via email. She was on the ball. She responded to messages. She assisted me with finding items that were in-store and ready to buy. Ruby was super capable and gave great service. They should promote Ruby.
My advice is that if you want Journelle lingerie, go to their store. Their online store is only a mirage, and their Customer Service is abysmal. I will never use Journelle.com again, but I may work with Ruby.
