First of all, Journelle in general is an ideal place to get your lingerie. They are providing some solid competition for Victoria's Secret, both in the price department and in the selection department. Journelle carries bras that fit the way bras should fit, at almost every price point- Eberjey, Elle Macpherson, and Timpa have some beautiful designs that cost less than the average VS bra (some are $35-$45) and make great everyday choices. And then for "special occasions" or if you just have more expensive tastes, they have lines like La Perla, Fortnight, Lonely, Samantha Chang, Huit, the list goes on. Add to the equation that Journelle keeps sizes in stock that VS doesn't even offer, like the elusive 32D or even the G sizes, and it's obvious that Journelle is the superior choice.
However, the Union Square and Upper East Side locations are, in a word, obnoxious. The salespeople are remarkably rude, judgmental, unhelpful, and all around horrible. But unlike the other two locations in the city, this Journelle is an absolute pleasure to visit. They stock the same products as the other locations, but the salespeople at this branch are laidback, sweet, engaging, helpful, and often hilarious. Every time I go into the store, I'm greeted right away and offered assistance. When I try things on, someone always comes by to ask about the fit and if I'd like any additional sizes, colors, or a second opinion. And if I buy something, there's always a nice comment about how great that line is or how it's a beautiful choice or the color is perfect, and it's clear that the people working here are genuinely interested in both lingerie and in good customer service. If you have the option of going to any of the three locations, definitely make this your first choice.
