"Over the past few years, this lingerie boutique has grown and opened up several shops all over the city. It turns out there was a real hole in the marketplace when it came to lingerie: A place where you can find pretty lingerie that you don't feel silly wearing everyday, which means a tasteful mix of brands like Bordelle, Stella McCartney, Cosabella, and Princesse Tam-Tam, in both basic nudes and bright colors. There's also a location in Union Square and the Upper East Side."

I’ve shopped Journelle in the past but only online. I was in desperate need of a fitting and some new bras. Violet was so great, she brought me a perfect arrangement in my updated size after measuring me, altering the cut when I told her I didn’t like the shape certain pieces were making. She checked in enough that I was able to ask for help if I needed, but she wasn’t overbearing. I wore my new purchase out, and was so happy I decided to go in person to a company I’ve been shopping from for almost a decade. Will definitely be going back again to their brick and mortar. Thank you!

Google
Terrible experience. Went in looking for black opaque high-waisted underwear and asked the sales lady if they had them. She told me they didn't and showed me other unrelated items. I continued wandering the store and discovered more variety in the drawers so I started looking through. She scolded me for doing so and told me she would need to show me the underwear herself. I again described what I was looking for and was shown more sheer lacy underwear. Eventually I saw the exact underwear I wanted hanging in plain sight. I took it to the register to purchase and she made no mention of the fact that they did actually carry it. An hour later I realized I could find a nicer style for cheaper at Fleur du Mal so I went back to return it. Despite the fact that it was the same day and they were still in the original packaging, untouched with tags and a receipt, the sales lady wouldn't refund me and made no effort to show any amount of understanding or effort to make me feel better as a customer. I left the $50 pair of untouched underwear on the counter and she still kept my money. If that's how you treat your customers, don't expect them to come back. I am a lingerie collector and saw so many brands I like in the store but I will make sure to buy them elsewhere.

Worked with a young blonde woman today to get my fiancée a matching set. I wish I would’ve got her name because she was so helpful in where I otherwise might’ve left without finding what I wanted. 10/10 customer service

Google
Booked a free fitting appointment and had the best time. Violet was fantastic and charming; she totally had command of the store and knew what would work. She gave me an accurate measurement, totally got what I was looking for, and brought me tons of options without being pushy. Maybe the best shopping experience I've ever had? Give Violet a raise!

Google
After a breast reduction survey I had no clue what my proper size was in bras. The salesperson who helped me was able to tell me my size just by looking and brought out some awesome pieces I wouldn’t have even picked myself. I was really happy with my purchases and will be returning.

Google
Walked in not really knowing what I was looking for. Hannah was super helpful and bonkers knowledge about lingerie while also not making me feel like a moron when I asked her questions. All the other women working were really nice too. The store was well laid out and clean — overall a great experience.

Google
will never shop here again. during covid when i was unemployed, they blamed me for their trusted shipping service losing my parcel. i was owed over $100 and they didn’t offer a refund or credit. now that i can afford it, i will never shop there again. as someone who has worked in customer service for over a decade, terrible policies. i don’t shop at places that care about profits more than they care about customer relations.

This review is based on Jasmine! I love the lingerie at this store but shopping for the correct bra has always been difficult for me. Jasmine is so patient & informative. She is an expert & one of the main reasons I come here. I always look forward to seeing her when I enter the store. If you struggle with finding the best fit combined with a beautiful selection of lingerie be sure to enlist her expertise. You can thank me later! Yes, you can find some of these brands at other retailers but you should come here for the all-around luxury experience.

Yelp
I had a really lovely experience getting fitted for a bra at Journelle and left with a bra that exceeded my expectations. The employees were all very friendly and made me feel welcome. One of the employees helped fit me and selected multiple styles based on what I was seeking. It honestly felt like I was shopping with a bunch of girlfriends!

Yelp
I've been a repeat costumer for the past seven years. Usually I call and they look up my info and send me a specific bra that I like. I have done this several times. I recently called because I checked online and it was sold out in most sizes and colors. When I called I said I need to repurchase something and have it shipped to me and the sales person told me to go to the website. I replied that I had checked online but I didn't see any available sizes or colors. The salesperson said the website takes its inventory from the warehouse and all the retail locations, so if it's not on the website they don't have it. I asked her to please check her store's inventory again in case I was searching the wrong information or something. The above is a very tiresome exchange both to have had to experience and to retell. If you call a store to buy a product you have a history of purchasing at that store, you should not need to convince the salesperson to check the inventory for you. Back to the story, the salesperson checked, confirmed they did not have any, and told me to go back to the website and click the notify me option on the item's page to receive an email when it is back in stock. Fast forward to me calling a different lingerie store looking for the same item. The salesperson at the second store told me the item had been discontinued. The salesperson at the second store gave me the name of the product that directly replaced the one I was looking for, told me what the difference between the original and new version was, and gave me the item numbers of both the original version and new version so I could look on the manufacturers website for more information. Very disappointed that Journelle's customer service has become what I experienced today.

Yelp
I went in to buy a pair of tights here. The photo of the tights on the box was black, when I got home and looked inside they were beige. Mind that I never tried on or damaged the product in any way. They never mentioned during my checkout that tights were final sale, even when I asked for the receipt. I went in and asked to return or exchange and the girl there just rudely denied me and told me they don't offer returns. Feel like final sale should be mentioned at checkout or they should at least be a bit nicer to accommodate requests like this when things are clearly mismarketed on the box. Will not be returning to this store.

Yelp
Not sure what all the reviews are raving about. I just needed a decent bra, but was open to purchasing some other items if they had any recommendations. The lady "helping" me was grumpy and distracted the whole time, I think she forgot about me a couple of times too and was busy chatting with a coworker (or someone). The purchase I made was expensive for rather low quality and cheap-feeling material (the more expensive ones didn't exactly feel that luxurious/comfortable or looked that fabulous either). I had a limited amount of time, so I had to make the purchase but if I had more time, I would definitely have visited elsewhere.

Yelp
Still a great experience! This time around I was helped by Amina who was absolutely lovely. I walked in without an appointment on a Sunday afternoon and they were able to accommodate me no problem. I told Amina a little bit about what I was looking for and she brought me a bunch of great options. I left with three bras ranging in price from $75-$90 and they're all lovely and great quality! They also had the BEST hazelnut chocolates from a brand called Majani that I'm trying to track down, so good. And who doesn't like eating chocolate while trying on bras? Cannot recommend them enough!

Yelp
It's not often that I write a bad review, but probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I had a $50 giftcard that I received as a gift several years ago that I recently found. I went online and made a purchase using the giftcard. It showed at checkout that the $50 gift card was applied and my total was .06 which I put on my CC. After checking out I later received the receipt via email which showed $50.06 was actually applied to my CC. I contacted support and worked with Rachel. She confirmed that she saw the gift card purchased for me for $50, but because it was over 5 years old it wasn't valid, even though it showed it was applied to my total!! I explained that the only reason I made the purchase was to use my gift card and so I wanted to return the item, and she said no returns, wouldn't make an exception for me. They charged me $50 for a purchase I didn't approve on my CC!! Having to work w/ my bank to dispute the charge. 1st and last time I will EVER do business here!

Yelp
Journelle is a great option if you're looking for some lingerie. They have a nice, elegant set-up with a variety of cute and sexier styles. This Journelle is not my favorite in terms of layout. It's narrow and long, and it can get a little awkward bumping into people. However, the staff working here are all very nice and on the happier/spunkier side. Don't forget to check the drawers for more sizes!

Yelp
I love this place. I'm always oogling over their online selection, so when I realized that they had a store in Soho, I made a bee-line straight to their front door. Their product selection is incredible, and they have a variety of things ranging from colors, looks, to the occasion. With the help of a store associate, I went home with about 5 different sets of lingerie. She was very professional and made me feel completely comfortable throughout my shopping experience. They offer complementary chocolate and have a fuzzy robe in the dressing rooms. I wish I caught her name! Turns out, I've been wearing the incorrect size for some time, and I finally have new bras that fit as if they were tailored to my body. Thank you!! Please Journelle, bring a store to LA, or I'm coming to the Soho location more often!

Yelp
This was a disappointment. I kind of dread bra shopping because I have a less common size. But this place had a lot of good reviews and I was looking forward to having someone professional find me something that fit. Instead I was left to select my own items (fine) but there was not even anyone to help me exchange sizes or help me find a better fit. When I asked for help the person working said sure and then didn't come back to my room for 20 minutes. It being winter I wasn't eager to climb back into my snow boots and long underwear to traverse the show room again (there is also no way to know where different sizes are stored without assistance). So I just got dressed and left. It was especially disappointing because I found some things I really liked and wanted to buy if I could have found the right size.

Yelp
What girl wants, what girl needs, A little bit of silk, a little bit of lace... I absolutely adore Journelle and their lingerie. They carry a variety of brands, all so carefully selected, all luxuriously fine & beautiful. I guarantee you will always find something incredibly sexy here for any occasion. Not only products are wonderful, customer service and settings are top-notch. Huge dressing rooms, with whimsical hooks to hang your selections, one-time use underwear and plushy robes provided for your convenience. Staff is always there to help you, but without hovering over. They are that brilliant! But wait!!! - there are also complimentary chocolates and bottled water served (which is always refreshing, especially in summer months!). I love this store to bits.

Yelp
It was seriously time for a restart on the bra situation so I made an appointment for the express fitting and stopped by on Friday evening at 6 pm. I was immediately greeted and taken back to a room with water, chocolates, and a fluffy robe. The woman helping me was so friendly and really knew how to help me find what worked for me. She also encouraged me to try things I might not otherwise try but it never came off as pushy. After trying on a zillion things (because I wanted to, not because I could find something) I settled on 2 more basic bras (one with wires and one wireless) and got each in black and neutral, plus one fun purple bra I couldn't resist, plus 4 matching pairs of bottoms and some delicate laundry soap that smelled divine. Total and complete success, and I had fun! Plus it's my birthday month which meant an unexpected 20% off. For all of that, I spent just over $500--a really reasonable price for so many items, and I'm really happy with the look and feel of them. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I used to Love this lingerie store. Lately I've noticed they're predominantly their own brand now. I loved the variety they used to have and I miss that. I've tried a couple of their own brand and though they are ok, the quality isn't on par with the price. The mark up would be a lot less for their own brand too, so it feels a little like profit over quality. I'm sure over the years they've gotten good fit and ideas from brands they've stocked, they aren't the 1st to go with this business scaling but I do miss the multiple brand concept and choice. The Staff are always lovely, when it's busy, it's easier to find your own size sometimes, the drawers tend to be well organized and easy to locate a size.

Yelp
Journelle, You are just the loveliest little lingerie shop I've visited in a while. Nothing too flashy, nothing too gimmicky, no secrets, just beautiful well-crafted pieces. I visited a little while back with one of my BFF's who was shopping for her wedding undergarments. Your sales gal, Tiffany, was fantastic. She took the time to ask my friend what she actually wanted and then walked us around the store to show us every different style and price point they offered. As we waited for the bride to try a couple things on Tiffany offered to take my measurements and make sure my bra was the right fit. She definitely went the extra mile and that was awesome. Bonus points for the bottled water and delicious little chocolates in the dressing room. The whole experience was just really really lovely. And I wanted to make sure you knew that. :-) Alyssa

Bad customer service. Very messy and unorganized and unprofessional. Not happy at all with the service.

Yelp
I forget who helped me but she literally had NO idea what she was doing. I have a very difficult size to fit so I always have to go to these expensive places to find something. I was there forever trying on bras she brought me that were super uncomfortable, weren't the right size, and when I'd come out of the dressing room with a certain bra and ask for a different size, she's come back with the wrong bra in the wrong size... And she did that like 3 times... I ended up leaving that place with one very uncomfortable bra and one that is COMPLETELY the wrong size, partially because I felt so damn bad for the girl helping me that I couldn't leave empty-handed. What a waste of money though- I just went to Rigby and Peller on 90th and Madison for a better fitting and it took the woman under 5 minutes to find me the right size in a very comfortable bra. Don't go to journelle if you have a hard-to-find size because they will have no clue what to do with you.

Yelp
I started next door at Agent Provocateur looking for some special lingerie and was SO disappointed in selection and staff that I left and went next door to Journelle- SO glad I did!! The girl who helped me was so lovely and sweet, I told her my size and she selected several styles that she loved and I ended up loving too! Bought two sets that I am so happy with the quality and uniqueness.

Yelp
I had bought a lil something something a couple weeks ago for my upcoming vacation. I bought it online and was surprised to see that instead of paying to have it shipped to me I could have it shipped for FREE at their location In Manhattan, which is a hop and a skip from where I go to get "manicured". I bought my piece, had it shipped to them and in like two days I get confirmation them it's ready and waiting for me in store to pick up in the next 30 days. Yay! Yesterday I went in and immediately a girl at the front was super pleasant and very helpful. It was refreshing to see such a pretty, airy and clean store. She gets my order(which is so pretty and discreetly Wrapped- I almost didn't want to open it!) and off I go. Short and sweet and I'm sold. Wish customer service was always this positive!

Yelp
I'm SO glad we found Journelle on our recent visit to NYC. My sales associate was so knowledgeable and helpful. I find bra shopping very challenging & she made it bearable & productive. I bought 2 beautiful bras & will order more online. It was an extra treat to be given water & chocolates during the lengthy bra try-on.

Yelp
After finding out I've been wearing the wrong size band my entire life, I went to Journelle to get properly fitted. I didn't have an appointment, but even though I was a walk-in, Alexia at this SoHo location was SO HELPFUL, and took her time explaining to the different types of bras, and when I told her about my predicament (small ribs, giant girls) she sensed what I was looking for and came back with a TON of options for me to try on. Different brands, different price points, different styles. I can't believe I didn't come here sooner - supportive bras that are actually SEXY?! What?!!!? The fitting room was well-lit and roomy so I could actually see the products, and the chocolates and water helped me relax :) Customer service was A+ - from walking in the door to check-out/pretty packaging. Overall I just can't wait to go back and get more WELL-FITTING lingerie!!!

Yelp
Going lingerie shopping when you don't look like Heidi or Gisele can be intimidating, but the ladies here are so friendly and make you feel so comfortable. They genuinely listened to what I said I wanted to see, and made helpful suggestions of things I hadn't thought of. The garments run the range of very affordable to high-end, so there's something there for everyone. The dressing rooms are amazing! Huge, with a little couch and a fluffy robe for you to wear if you like, plenty of hooks, a huge mirror, a full door that closes (no more continually trying to close the gap of those stupid tiny curtains found in other places!). Also Evian water and little Baci chocolates for an afternoon pick me up! :) Everything is very organized too. I bought a few pieces, and they wrap up your lingerie in paper then tie it with a thick satin bow, they offered a Panty Card (like a coffee card, or soup card... purchase X amount and get 1 free). I needed to go to the bank and they pointed out where the closest one was, then even wrote me a Post It Note that said "Bank" on it when I joked that I would forget to go the minute I walked out the door! I walked out thinking "I will absolutely come back here when i need lingerie!" Bottom Line: GO! It's so much more personal than the chains and the service/level of choices (price, size & style) is better than some of the other Village/SoHo indie stores.
google avatar

Yelp
I thought this place was nice, however the section was a little limited. The service was fantastic, and i felt very fancy :-) Price is average for good lingerie (around $80 a piece) If i found something i loved would def purchase.

Yelp
Girls like me with smaller frames tend to encounter bra fitting problems because most familiar retail stores (e.g. Victoria's Secret, Gap Body, etc.) don't carry their proper sizes. As a result, I ended up wearing the incorrect bra size for years without being aware that befitting sizes actually existed. My main problem is the whole band-cup size combination- sometimes the cup size would be right but the band too loose; other times the band fits but the cup doesn't. I've never heard of a band size under 32 until I walked into another lingerie shop a week before(obviously I'm not very accustomed to shopping at high-end stores, especially lingerie boutiques for that matter). And it wasn't until I discovered Journelle when I experienced the feeling of a perfect bra. The associate (Sarah :)) who helped me was incredibly friendly and attentive. Sweet and personable, she was very knowledgeable about the products and communicated well with me throughout my entire shopping experience. I explained to her exactly what I was looking for, and she helped me pick out different sizes and styles so I get a feel of how the sizing works for each brand. I was amazed at how much patience she had with me, having tried on no less than six bras at a time. She listened to the various problems I had associated with each bra, and she promptly grabbed me other sizes and shapes to try on. I was in and out of the fitting room with a different set of bras at least three times that day. It's not like none of them fit me-- a lot of the issues I had with each bra, if not about sizing, were really minor, but I decided that if I were to invest in a special bra, I'd have to absolutely love it. (By the way, their fitting rooms were gorgeous and elegant like their store! Definitely gave it a luxurious, upscale vibe :)) In the end, I did find one that fit perfectly - a beautiful, bright coral, lace-embroidered demi-cup bra from Simone Perele. Yes, it is now my most expensive bra I own, but also the best fitting and most flattering. I'm so glad to have a found a store with an amazing size range, a beautiful collection of lingerie items, and a great staff!

Yelp
What a wonderful and classy spot to give your best girls a fitting!! My friend and I booked appointments for Friday evening and were very excited to treat ourselves to some luxury and lace. The staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, making the experience comfortable and a lot of fun. We had champagne, chocolates and lots of cute bras/slips to try on. I left spending more than I should have, but every morning when I put on my bra, I am happy that it looks great, and fits even better!

Yelp
Disappointment. That's how I mostly felt about this store. We chose to go here instead of the other Journelle since we were planning to spend the day shopping in SoHo. Here are my disappointments- 1. They don't open until 11AM- which is fine, if they were actually OPEN at 11. We got there around 11:10, and they were not open yet. A little irritating, but no huge deal. We went somewhere else and came back about 11:40. 2. No one greeted us when we came in, we browsed and still no one spoke to us. There was only one shop girl that I could see at the moment and she was checking out another customer. But she could have said hello. 3. After she finished with the other customer, I had to ask her if we could get measured- the clerk had still not greeted us. At this point, the clerk called to another sales clerk to come measure us. Why hadn't she done this before? 4. Selection was okay, they were out of my size in a few of the things I would liked to have tried. Once we got fitted, things were better than when we first entered the store. They did have a nice selection of Hanky Panky. Overall I was disappointed. I have gotten better service and selection at both Bloomingdale's and Saks.

Yelp
I have to admit that I have been stalking this store online but too nervous to go in person until my husband insisted that we get something nice for our anniversary. I like that the staff gave my husband and I a chance to take a spin around the store first before they offered us help because it gave me a chance to ease up and marvel at the pretty things. Jametria was an attentive associate who gave me great recommendations! I was totally amazed that she was able to pinpoint my size and taste from our first measuring. When I told her about my husband's tastes, she quickly found pieces that would meet both our fancies! We ended up with pieces from Lascivious and they are cute and sassy without being too over the top. I love this intro to lingerie that is above Fredericks or Victoria's Secret without being intimidating in price or couture like La Perla or Agent Provocateur - though those could also be on the horizon now that we have broken the ice. I also chose two everyday bras that amazingly have no show-through yet are still soft and not overpadded. Yay Natori and Calvin Klein! It felt like Jametria easily spent an hour pampering me with a fluffy robe, Evian, chocolates, champagne, and bringing us piece after piece to try on. Thank you so much for your warm welcome and also the follow up email to say congrats!

Yelp
I hate shopping for bras. My Mother (to this day) nags me to spend a little more on quality bras that actually fit. I buy what I need once a year and replace them when I absolutely have to. And don't get me started on Victoria's Secret. Their bra's never last and every time I find a style I like, it gets discontinued. So I decided to try Journelle instead. What a wonderful experience. It was pretty busy, but I was able to get help from Carrie. She was VERY helpful. I got sized and she brought in a whole bunch of bra's. I instantly fell in love with the Chantelle line, and the Elle MacPherson bra's too. I also picked up some hanky panky's, which are also a new favorite. They didn't have Elle in nude in-store so she ordered it online and it shipped for free. Already been back for a strapless bra. Between the robe, the luxurious dressing room, the chocolate and waters, I think I might start to enjoy shopping for intimate apparel. Mom would be proud!

Yelp
I had my first bra fitting here a few months ago; having subsisted on cheap Calvin Klein bras from various discount stores as a poor college student I was ready to find lingerie that I would really love wearing. It was simple to book an appointment online, and when I arrived in-store they had a large room with a fuzzy robe, comfy couch, and a billion wall hooks for hanging ready right away. The ladies here were very welcoming and made me feel comfortable as they measured me and gave me style suggestions. After fitting me, they let me loose in the store and waited patiently as I ogled all the gorgeous lingerie. I never felt hurried while trying on the 10+ bras and they were very helpful with bringing in similar styles and matching panties once I started figuring out which ones I liked. I also appreciated that Journelle carries bras across a wide range of prices and styles; they often have great deals online and have plenty of beautiful pieces to splurge on. Since my fitting I've bought waaaay more lingerie than I ever thought I would want - the combination of great customer service (and of course the free chocolates!) keep me coming back for more.

Amy S.

Yelp
I hate buying bras so, so much. But the lovely lady who helped me at Journelle made it as pleasant as possible -- she matter-of-factly measured me and brought me exactly what I needed, and I left with two perfectly fitting bras, all wrapped up in brown paper like a present no less! And they give you water and chocolate while you're trying on bras. Way to make an annoying errand into a pleasant experience! Phew.

Yelp
Let's talk about my fairy godsister Tiffany and her fellow fairys over at Journelle in Soho. First, you should know, I love lingerie. Absolutely love love love it. So a good lingerie store is often my happy place. Second you should know that I am a thin and petite woman with a fairly toned body with an occasional not so hot spot here and there that I care not to think of or look at. Why is this important? Because: 1: Nothing makes me sadder(and sometimes madder) than a lingerie shop staffed with snobby, judgmental women with eyes trained to hone in on cellulite, jiggle, and those "soft" areas we ladies often care not to speak of. 2:Equally bad? Lingerie shops filled with women who will berate and roll their eyes at thin women who say a single critique about how they look in a lacy little number. I'm thin, but I'm certainly not Elle MacPherson, and while I might look good in many of her pieces well, some of it only looks good on her...and I can say that! Enter my fairy godsister Tiffany....who kindly, but firmly corrected me on my bra size, and did not let me ignore her...which I was prepared to do after so many people had treated me not so nicely in the past because of the reasons listed above. Tiffany also had no problem listening to what I like in terms of style and comfort, and while she might like certain pieces, and said so, she wasn't overly pushy about those pieces when it came to sales. Except for one. Because she was adamant that it was worth it. And guess what? It was. I went back and bought two more of the underwear the next week. I spent the entire summer obsessing about them because they were sexy and comfortable and generally amazing. The merchandise at Journelle runs from sexy and cool to casual and comfortable. You can find pieces that make you feel really sexy while watching Netflix by yourself or with your boyfriend on a Sunday night, without feeling like you are needlessly lacing yourself up into a 50's pinup costume. Just casual chic and cool and hot! And the women there, especially Tiffany, will give you honest feedback about you and how you look based on who you are, what you need, and how you feel. Because that's what matters. Lingerie shopping can be incredibly fun, exciting, and yes confidence boosting...when done correctly. It can also be terrifying...avoid the terror. Head over to SOHO and see Tiffany. If you have ever had a bad experience...she'll make everything better. If you've never had a bad experience THANK GOD! Maybe society is progressing...go see Tiffany anyway and keep the ball rolling!

Yelp
I wasn't here to shop initially ? But more for a lingerie show & mingling event. The event was this past week , online reservations were a must once u arrived we made our way in & settled into the event. The event included a live Dj, complimentary drinks & bites to eat. On the drinks they served Whiskey & Stella beer I stuck to beer which was great my friend had the whiskey not bad the drink was pretty strong. As for the food , they served bite size appetizers which if u didn't grab quickly u were left with out trying people were like vultures on top of the poor waiters kinda crazy but I guess that's what happens when people drink. A few of the things I tried , Deviled eggs were decent , Chicken nuggets were good. Beef sliders were very good , some bite size toast not sure what it was but it was good then it seemed for dessert a valentine theme cake balls , were pretty good. Lingerie show was two rounds everything ran pretty smoothly, The models had good energy. The show had a little bit for every one , from some sexy outfits to comfy pjs. The store itself is nice , not very big with plenty of lingerie to choose from nice styles but pricey tho. I certainly enjoyed the event it was very entertaining , food & liquor was good & I even ended making a small purchase If & when another event like this comes along I wouldn't mind checking it out again.

Yelp
I love Journelle. They have an amazing range of bras, underwear, and lingerie, in a range of prices. My favorite brands they carry are Lake and Stars, Araks, VPL, and Commando. Generally, the sales staff are super helpful, and their blog is adorable, updated regularly, and offers input from store staff. Also, the fitting rooms are so lush--I feel like a pampered little princess in there. Bonus points for the great smell in the stores.

Yelp
I've been coming to Journelle (this location and the Union Square location) for about two years, always with good results. Anytime a friend says they need new bras and are heading to Victoria's Secret, I recommend this place because the quality is great and they have a full range of sizes well past DD. The higher end stuff can get pricey, but many of the brands they stock are reasonably priced and the bras last forever. The store is also super cute, with comfy dressing rooms (and chocolates!) I stopped in the Soho store today looking for another color of a bra I'd ordered from journelle.com (the site is great too...good customer service and fast shipping). I didn't remember the brand, but I described the bra and the salesgirl knew it right away. I told her the size I thought I'd ordered, but she could tell just from looking at me that I probably was wearing a smaller band size (as was confirmed when I checked the label of my bra at home). They didn't have my size in stock, so the salesgirl checked their other locations and when my size was sold out everywhere, she helped to show me sites where I could order the bra. To me that's the definition of great customer service! I will definitely be shopping here again.

Yelp
I now know why people say you should get professionally fitted before buying bras! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, especially Alondra was so friendly and patient. Will definitely come back again!

Yelp
Journelle is the kind of lingerie store that makes you feel feminine. Not girly, in the hot-pink-embellished-with-rhinestones style of a certain secretive Vicky. Not eye-poppingly provocative. But feminine, in the best way: think delicate lace, luxurious silk loungewear, spacious dressing rooms, and friendly saleswomen urging you to try the free chocolates. The selection is varied but not overwhelming. If you need a 28 or 30 in the band, they've got you covered. Ditto for E, F, and G cups. The saleswomen always seem to find more styles than are immediately apparent, and everyone who has helped me has been lovely--don't be afraid to ask if you're on the lookout for something in particular. The prices are not cheap, but it's entirely possible to find an attractive, well-fitting bra for around $70. I highly recommend a trip here if you need new basics, or something for a special occasion.

Yelp
I'm visiting a friend in NJ right now, and after discovering that my bras are awful, she both recommended and got me over to Journelle, She'd been to one of the other locations before and told me that the experience would be custom-tailored to me, plus that there'd be chocolate and (of course) cute underwear... she was right! When we got in, the salesgirl who ended up helping me was actually on her way out, but since the others were busy, Leah stayed through my shopping experience. She measured me, picked out all kinds of styles for me to try, and I left with a bra I can use all the time that ACTUALLY fits and works with my figure! The best thing about the store was the atmosphere and the size selection, but the best thing about the trip was how helpful and friendly she was. I work in retail, too, so I know what it's like to want to go home but have that one last customer to help, and she took care of me with such grace and aplomb that I would never have guessed that her shift was over if I didn't already know!! So thanks for the awesome experience. I don't live in town, but I'll try to come back.

Yelp
Such a fan of Journelle. Been to all the locations and they're all terrific for their own reasons. The comfy robe, chocolate and free water would be enough to recommend the fitting rooms but the selection is fantastic. Goes from average rates to high end and fits every type of gal from naughty to nice. Also super sexy to an everyday lingerie selection. Nicest of all, the staff never pushes their items onto you. They're just helpful and supportive (pun intended). Lovely place and my new addiction.

Yelp
Bras. Panties. Take that all away and you've got the cute salesgirls. Love this second outpost of this ultra-feminine lingerie shop. The store design makes this feel upscale. The labels they carry are pretty great, most things you can find at Barneys and Saks too. But they pick middle-range prices, so the products are within reach.

Yelp
I love this place. Keep in mind that things are priced higher here than what you'd find in similar shops such as Victoria's Secret, but I feel the quality is far superior, and the shopping experience is incomparable, Their fitting rooms are massive, well lit, and cozy. They have robes, chocolate, water, champagne and tea available for you as well. I enjoy the whole experience as much as I do my purchases!

Yelp
This is a really nice place! They serve you candies and water (score!). They have a great selection (Chantelle is the best brand) and friendly staff. The layout of the store makes it easy to peruse as well. We were helped out by Leah who was just amazing. She was very attentive to both me and my friend and helped both of us just the right things for us. She was very thorough meaning she brought me various brands to try on. And no matter how many times I asked her for something else, she was always ready to go back on the floor to find me something else. I was very happy with my final selections and will definitely be back. Have to make sure Leah is working though!

Yelp
My absolute favorite lingerie store! Tania Garcia is the best sales associate there. I always want to go back to the downtown store, because she knows me and what I might like. Shopping with her is like shopping with my best friend. She's very intuitive and fun. I always leave the store feeling fabulous! Thank you, Tania and Journelle! Keep up the good work.

Yelp
Stopped in here today after a hapless attempt to buy a bra at Aerie around the corner, and I'm totally sold. The selection seems small because of the way the store is laid out, but they have quite a bit in stock and a really lovely selection. The sales associate who fitted me immediately found the perfect bra for me and I ended up buying it in two colors! It's a little on the pricey side, but my bras are definitely worth every penny. The fitting wasn't awkward at all, in case you're like me and have avoided getting fitted because you're worried about some stranger handling your ta-tas. This store is very welcoming (the fitting rooms even have fluffy white robes!) and I didn't feel rushed or forced to buy anything. I'm so happy to have finally found a go-to bra place. :) ps--first timers get a $20 off coupon for their next purchase!

Yelp
4 stars only because I always think there's room to grow!! I ditched Victoria's Secret for journelle! I love shopping here. The sales associates are wonderful, knowledgeable and so nice. Not to mention they have awesome fitting rooms, water and chocolate! They genuinely want you to find the perfect and most importantly the right bra. I've become addicted to this small lingerie boutique store. I love shopping here!

Yelp
It was my first time shopping at Journelle and I have to thank Alexia for providing such outstanding service. She helped me pick a few items I wouldn't normally wear, but am now happy to have in my closet. Even as the store was getting busier, she checked on me consistently if I needed help with another size. Other associates in the store were great but I had to mention my exceptional experience with Alexia - thank you!! I will be back to shop some more.

Yelp
I went there to get some bridal lingerie and was so thrilled to have found Journelle! Bertie helped me find a ton of amazing pieces that were exactly what I wanted. There is a wonderful selection of lacy bralettes, rompers, sleepwear, and more. I was thrilled with the quality of the pieces. If you are looking for elegant, beautiful lingerie sets, look no further! And ask Bertie if you need help figuring out what you want!

Yelp
Absolutely loved going to Journelle. I was immediately greeted my kind staff that was willing to let me indulge and try on lingerie in comfort. I had a consultation with Amadi and she is absolutely amazing and courteous. She not only sized me but showed me what pieces work for my figure and even encouraged me to try on everything. She made my experience so fantastic and I found two beautiful and fun sets for Valentine's Day. Thanks Amadi!

Yelp
Just as wonderful as many had said. The layout of this store is fancy lingerie in the front, basics in the back. Yes, there were Evian and chocolates as well, and the sales associate totally made my friends, who were not trying on anything, feel just as welcome as they made me feel by offering them these same perks. Hearing about the measuring services here, I got myself remeasured and went from a 34A to 32B. I was doubtful at first since I thought the 32 band might be too snug, but it worked out perfectly. I've been wearing this new size for about a week now and LOVE it. The band shifting that used to happen when I laid on my side never happens anymore. Thanks Journelle! I had also been apprehensive about the reviews that referenced snootiness. I have to admit I was not helped at first, but upon approaching my sales associate, she was nothing but friendly, helpful, and welcoming. If you guys decide to try this place out and feel some iciness, try approaching them first instead of waiting for them to come to you. They are very knowledgable and they don't bite!

Yelp
This was a great experience for me. I came in for a fitting after reading the A Bra That Fits thread on reddit. Bernadette helped me and walked me through the whole process. I figured out what style and size works best for me and left with a bra that I am really happy with. This was a great experience and I would highly recommend this shop for anyone looking to find their true size and getting away from the victoria's secret craziness!

Yelp
First of all, Journelle in general is an ideal place to get your lingerie. They are providing some solid competition for Victoria's Secret, both in the price department and in the selection department. Journelle carries bras that fit the way bras should fit, at almost every price point- Eberjey, Elle Macpherson, and Timpa have some beautiful designs that cost less than the average VS bra (some are $35-$45) and make great everyday choices. And then for "special occasions" or if you just have more expensive tastes, they have lines like La Perla, Fortnight, Lonely, Samantha Chang, Huit, the list goes on. Add to the equation that Journelle keeps sizes in stock that VS doesn't even offer, like the elusive 32D or even the G sizes, and it's obvious that Journelle is the superior choice. However, the Union Square and Upper East Side locations are, in a word, obnoxious. The salespeople are remarkably rude, judgmental, unhelpful, and all around horrible. But unlike the other two locations in the city, this Journelle is an absolute pleasure to visit. They stock the same products as the other locations, but the salespeople at this branch are laidback, sweet, engaging, helpful, and often hilarious. Every time I go into the store, I'm greeted right away and offered assistance. When I try things on, someone always comes by to ask about the fit and if I'd like any additional sizes, colors, or a second opinion. And if I buy something, there's always a nice comment about how great that line is or how it's a beautiful choice or the color is perfect, and it's clear that the people working here are genuinely interested in both lingerie and in good customer service. If you have the option of going to any of the three locations, definitely make this your first choice.

Yelp
Just walked out. Woman was very helpful at first then never came back to the dressing room and then they all ignored me when I came out. Saleswoman was doing a return and didn't acknowledge me and the other staff went past me to the back room. It's not like I was a rude and demanding customer. I'll spend my hardearned money elsewhere.
