There has never been a more appropriately named ice cream shop! My family and I love this Tosa gem and the childhood memories it creates for our kids. Delicious ice cream, fresh made waffle cones, great drink selection and adorable, plentiful patio seating. A must-visit if you're in the area!

This little place is super cute inside. Loved trying the flight of 4 flavors: mint chocolate, peach, zoreo, and cappuccino ($10). Outdoor seating only. Candy, alcohol, free stickers and chalk for kids. They also have a kids reading club.

If I could give Joy Ice Cream more than 5 stars I would! We have a 2.5 year old that frequently requests, “Joy ice cream shop.” The magic of his delight when we pull up to the one-of-a-kind Joy Ice Cream is a memory we will forever cherish. The flavors are constantly rotating and the house made waffle cones are truly the best we’ve ever had. Liz is always coming up with new flavors and combos to keep things interesting. If you’re looking for a unique ice cream experience, look no further!

We really enjoyed our visit to Joy Ice Cream! We had been wanting to go for a while and we were not disappointed. Everything about the space inside and out is so perfectly curated and decorated, and there is plenty of outdoor seating. The service was great and there was a large selection of ice cream to choose from! We chose a house made waffle cone with Brownie Cascade ice cream, and an ice cream flight with Blackberry Lemon Bar, Mint Avalanche, PB Hearts Chocolate, Munchie Madness. The flights come with two cups of your choice of toppings! We did Oreo and gummy bears. We loved the ice cream and will definitely be back soon!

Just wanted to shout out the lovely individual (and I forgot to get her name!) who helped me last minute find an ice cream cake for my husband's birthday which happened to be a few days after father's day. I had called on Thursday before Father's Day and she said Joy couldn't take any more cake orders because they were slammed with cake requests for father's day. But she recommended checking the case at Little Village Play Cafe, and sure enough they had a couple, even one of the flavors I had been hoping to order! On top of Joy's employee being so helpful, the ice cream cake was AMAZING, my husband confirmed it was better than any he'd had from anywhere else. Thanks Joy!

This is such a cute spot for ice cream and a hit in the summertime. They have a small indoor area with a little shop and activity area, as well as an expansive outdoor area with lots of seating a a walk up window! The menu is full of delicious ice cream flavors of a variety of options, including non-dairy. I enjoyed the blue moon oat in a cake cone. It was made well, not at risk of falling apart as some other ice cream shops do, and the ice cream was delicious. The service was great, fast, and friendly!

Very cute little ice cream shop. Intriguing flavors at a fair price. My scoops were delicious and plenty. Place smells like a waffle cone which was very pleasing. Friendly service and I will definitely patronize again!!! All in all a great foodie experience 😋 ❤️🍦

We were gifted 1 scoop tokens and finally made it to Joy Ice Cream Social to cash them in. We were given a generous scoop of some really nice ice cream - it was delicious and the place is soooo cute. Only as we were leaving did we hear someone order the ice cream flight!!!! 1. Brilliant 2. I can't believe we missed it 3. We'll be back for that flight. Definitely check it out.

I may be biased b/c I can walk here from my house... but this place is a real delight! The staff is wonderful and efficient, rotating flavors, and a welcoming environment. I love having Joy in our little neighborhood!

I really had high hopes for this place and wanted this to be special for my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately, it did not hold up on a 10 minute ride! In air-conditioning! Especially for the high-end price for chocolate shoppe ice cream for a tiny 6 inch cake that I thought was going to be mostly ice cream but it was mostly cake! Very disappointed and wish I had gone to Dairy Queen. Lesson learned it's a lot of marshmallow fluff a lot of chocolate cake and some kind of soft, white fluffy marshmallow topping under the cherries, which did not hold up at all, and it was drooping down the sides. $38.23!!!$5 was for sugar numbers that are not even candles!

So average if you ask me, so I'm not sure why people seem to love it. It's fun as a thing to do in the summer if you live nearby, but the line is insane, terrible value for cost and I thought the ice cream was worse than just buying pints from the store. The scoops in the flight are pretty tiny so unless you need toppings you're bette tiff just getting a double or triple scoop.

I drive by this place and fell in love. It's a newer shop, 2023 opening, but has the charm and character of an older ice cream place. Every order you make is a good one. They seem to have a rotating array of options. Service was good, it was a couple of teenagers who were speedy with the orders. Again, I recommend and think everyone should stop by Joy Ice Cream once in their life.

I had to come here to try Lucy Bakes' collab with Joy and it was worth it! The staff was great here and spent time making the treat. There was marshmallow cream on top followed with a mix of red velvet cake & cookies and cream ice cream and at the bottom white chocolate. The shamrock shake was delicious and cute with lucky charms on top. I found out they have ice cream flights for $9 that comes with 4 single scoops, and I plan to come back for that! It's small inside but looks like plenty of outdoor seating. I get why it's called Joy ice cream because I definitely left happy!

I've been to Joy in the warm weather I promise however this time I went in for one of the specials! The mystery ice cream box! It was $25 which honestly not horrible because it's kind of like 12 kids scoops! It was super fun trying to guess the flavors. I still need to turn in our form but I have a feeling I'm going home with a pin! Smells delicious inside, they were making fresh waffle cones when I walk in! Yum!

I was invited here by Yelp but I missed the event so I ventured out on my own on a sunny day to see what was up. I was greeted by a super friendly worker who served up the best vanilla bean Ice cream in a homemade waffle cone (that was to die for and I don't even like waffles)! We talked briefly but I was definitely enchanted by the service and the food. The shop itself is small and so cute that it just invites you to sit for a while and forget about your day. I wanted to stay there and dawdle. I wanted to dream about lazy days on the beach, skateboarders, and sunny romps in the sand. Was it the ice cream or was I under a spell? Hmmmm? I'll never know but I definitely felt the "joy" of the spirit of the place. The server was joyful. The ice cream made me joyful. The location exudes joy! The waffle cone made me giggle with joy! It's a happy, ice cream social place where you'll experience JOY! Drop over! Take a friend. Leave your cares behind. Everybody needs a little joy in their life -- why not have a little ice cream in a homemade waffle cone too!!

5 STARS!!!! The most adorable local ice cream shop around. Was visiting from out of town and couldn't wait to try this place out. Every time we drove by, it was PACKED! After trying their Peanut Buddy Oat Cream, I know why :) walked here on a Sunday afternoon and boy are we glad we did. Parking is sparse and mostly whatever you can find lining the neighborhood. The most unique flavors and CUTEST BATHROOM!!!!! Adult beverages for the parents and an outdoor section for private parties. I'm so jealous this place doesn't exist in other cities!

Some of the best ice cream ever! I had the pleasure of meeting Joy and she is a sweet person. The layout of the ice cream shop is very cute. She has a patio for those who want to sit outside. You can also purchase pints of your favorite ice cream. I highly recommend Joy Ice Cream.

Adorable little local ice cream shop - honestly exactly what this area of Wauwatosa needs; a family-friendly little spot to hang out and enjoy a treat. The inside is very small with all the ice cream laid on the left, a few little merch options, and a variety of older games/trinkets. They have options for both alcoholic and NA drink options ranging from wine to premixed cocktails. Their decor is absolutely adorable, and the staff was very friendly offering up samples and answering questions. They even had vegan options! I had to knock a star off for lack of indoor seating/standing areas. We came on a rainy day and had to awkwardly stand by the bathroom to eat our ice cream. There are tons of tables out front and back, but it isn't conducive to visit and stay on anything but a sunny day.

Such a lovely place to stop for ice cream with the fam! We really enjoy it every time we drop in. Always great flavors to choose from - some personal faves have been key lime pie and raspberry rhapsody. The ice cream flights are a super fun way to try a few flavors, too! The service is always great, the owner is friendly and kind, and the vibe is just fun - love the decor, the outdoor seating area, etc.

I LOVE Joy!!! My friends introduced me to it and I love every flavor I try! Order up window outside or indoors! I think it is so cute how they have a little candy store/trinket section inside!!! Nostalgia! Also beverages available too. Lots of outdoor seating with lights all around. Such a cute ice cream shop and very creative flavors to try!! I love a good ice cream spot! Joy's used to be a gas station apparently... the now ice cream shop is so cute! It's a walk up window with surrounding tables to sit and enjoy your treat. There are a bunch of sidewalk blocks on one side of the shop for kids to color on with chalk. My husband and I went for our first time on a Friday night. Even though it was drizzling, no one seemed to mind. It was still a perfect hot night for some ice cream. There was a pretty long line, but it moved real fast. They had over ten flavors to choose from. There may have been even more earlier in the day. They also have a variety of drinks, including alcoholic beverages for sale. Although a couple flavors caught my eye, I ultimately went with the espresso. Oh myyyy do I loveeeee it. It is probably the best coffee/espresso ice cream I have ever had! My husband got the bubblegum flavor and was happy with it. The service was fast and friendly. We will be back! I need more espresso ice cream stat.

I've been wanting to try this super cute ice cream spot in Tosa - and so glad I did on a warm night! Their menu rotates which is fun. Lots of creative flavors and a good amount of non-dairy options too. The whole family got a cherry chocolate chip ice cream - delicious!! Wonderful texture, great flavor. Service was great and the space was adorable (even down to the waffle cone tiles inside!). I can't wait to go back.

Super cute ice cream stand with adorable patio seating overlooking the street. We stopped by on a Friday night and the line wasn't too long. I would highly recommend their salted caramel with swears in the name or their strawberry! Both were sooooo good.

Adorable ice cream shop in my neighborhood that we enjoy every visit! The wait might be a bit long but once they take your order it's relatively quick. Also, you can enjoy the smell of fresh waffle cone in the neighborhood when they are cooking their cones. One thing to consider is that it's not custard, just ice cream, which IMO is a huge miss for a Wisconsin shop. Also, a lot of the flavors are already pre-mixed, so if you have a nut allergy your options could be quite limited as you can't request to not have nuts included for the pre-mixed options.

Very cute ice-cream spot! Casual and friendly neighborhood shop vibes. They serve Chocolate Shoppe ice cream. We enjoyed the Yippee Skipee (peanut butter with chocolate & caramel) and Raspberry Cheesecake so much and would highly recommend those two flavors! Rich and cream, sweet but not crazy artificially sweet. The cone is also big, crispy and yummy. We will be back to try more flavors haha.

Joy ice cream literally inspired me. I wish there were more businesses like this one. I appreciated the aesthetic and detail, even the bathroom was joyful! The ice cream was delicious and the staff was friendly! They serve chocolate shoppe ice cream. I got the cappuccino break and it was tasty with its toffee clusters. My fiancé got the This just got serious in a waffle cone and it was also very tasty, the waffle cone was great! They had ample outdoor seating and a window to order outside in addition to their inside where you can buy the cutest merch! I highly recommend if you want to feel joy and enjoy delicious ice cream.

Stopped by Joy during their soft opening. They did a great job reviving an old building in Tosa to a cute ice cream shop. The ice cream and waffle cone was really good. Look forward to seeing the finished product when the patio and everything is finished!

Nothing beats a nice scoop of ice cream after a long, warm day. The staff were incredibly welcoming, ready to offer their expertise on popular flavors. The space that Joy Ice Cream occupies is perfect for families, passerbys, and pets! Just a note: would come for a good time, just not the best ice cream, there are plenty other stop shops for that.

Joy Ice Cream is a new delicious social gathering on North Avenue in Wauwatosa. It's the old gas station now remodeled, very cute & welcoming. When you walk up, you can smell the hand-made waffle cones. I usually order mine in a dish, but I couldn't resist & it was a great choice. I ordered the espresso latte, which contained caffeine, a nice afternoon pick up. I did have to use the restroom, which was clean & creatively decorated with cones. This is such a great addition to Wauwatosa.

This is a perfect spot for the neighborhood!! Right next to Lions tail. Ice cream is outstanding and the speed of service for being brand new is unmatched. Perfect edition to the neighborhood and can't wait to come back!

Part of being a longtime Yelp reviewer means getting special invites to cool places. This month, I took my son to Joy Ice Cream Social for a complimentary cone. The place has a nice Door County sort of open air vibe. Inside it is pretty bright and fluorescent. We both choose the waffle cone triple scoop so we could get a range of the flavors. Most of the tubs were down to the dregs and it seemed like we wouldn't be getting the freshest of the day, but that was on us because we arrived at 7pm. However, the girl at the counter had no idea that this was a Yelp discount deal and was confused by my phone app. The exchange could have been way better. As for the ice cream. It has taken me a week to write this because, well, it was good. But not amazing. Good is fine. But, what MKE is missing out on is amazing. You see, I've eaten gelato in Italy that nearly made me cry. I've had ice cream in NYC, San Francisco, Chicago (yes Chicago) that was far more mind-blowing. So, the good news is that there is ample room for improvement in both the customer service and the product. Pro tip, when the tub is almost empty, open a new tub and serve the fresh product. And, let your junior staff know that this is a Yelp week before we show up. Anyhow, I enjoyed the ice cream. It was still $16 for my son's cone and some candy. Or possibly the junior staff member didn't understand how the Yelp day was supposed to work. Nevertheless, give it a try and see for yourself.

Joy is such a charming, family spot. The Espresso Oreo is my pick! My family goes weekly.

Expect a line on a nice night but it's very worth it! Creamy ice cream in freshly made waffle cones. Mint chip was refreshing and zoreo was chocolatey and delish.

We are obsessed with this place! Joy has some of the best vegan (oat based) ice cream we've had yet and they typically have multiple vegan options available. The service is always speedy and friendly, so don't let the long line turn you away. We have been here an embarrassing number of times in the short few weeks they've been open! This is such a great addition to the Tosa small biz scene!

Busy little place! Would love a sign out front that says you can order inside as well as the line outside is usually pretty long. Prices are reasonable for ice cream and the flavors are fun and ever changing!

its so overprice like 6 dollars for a small scoop and its not even that good and their flavors are not that good and bad. The photo is called their highest quality cone and ice cream and costed like 8 dollars. Dont get it.

I absolutely love Joy Ice Cream Social! It has been an amazing addition to the neighborhood. I've tried almost all of the flavors and even the average ones are still good ice cream! The addition of Ruby's Bagels on Saturdays is a highlight. Nothing better than taking my dog on a walk and grabbing a bagel from the walk up window to take home and eat. So happy this place exists!

The cutest new ice cream shop in Wauwatosa! I've been dreaming of the blackberry lemon bar ice cream since I last had it. Literally have thought about it everyday. So good! Can't wait to go back!

Ice cream was fabulous, service was quick and accurate, very busy place but plenty of available seating at tables, benches, etc. all seating is outside. Will definitely go again this was our second time there in the last 2 weeks
