Google
Great portions, fair prices, and the kindest people running the show. The staff is what really sets this place apart. They are incredibly welcoming and genuine. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like a regular. They are attentive, super polite, and always go the extra mile to make sure your order is exactly how you like it. Great food and even better people. We’ll definitely be back!

Probably the nicest woman ever, had an issue with a miscommunication which happens. She fixed the issue with so much kindness and grace. Will definitely come back

Google
The ABSOLUTE WORST Chinese food ever!!!🤮 The grease was literally dripping out of the egg roll packaging!!🤦🏾‍♂️ None of the food has any flavor!! Had to “doctor” it up in order to eat it! I finally threw it all in the trash!!🗑️👎🏾

Google
This is the height of bland a$$ food. Only would recommend if you’re post GI surgery and need a BRATY diet. The hot and sour soup is actually sweet. In good news, the dog can have some. The chicken lo mein had ONLY chicken and lo mein and literally two slivers of carrot. The roast pork egg rolls barely had any meat in it and had no flavor. This food made me sad very very sad then gas-y. Also, no chance they’re using MSG cause that at least has flavor.

Google
The spicy sesame chicken had more breading than chicken. The chicken lo mein (up charged) was spaghetti and bland, very flavorless. I wouldn’t recommend this eatery.

Yelp
Will not ever buy rice noodle here again. So same order of Shrimp Mai Fun in second picture but now you can see how many shrimp compared to how much rice noodle. Still no sauce. I tasted the rice noodles and I get the tiniest taste of sesame oil other than that nothing. There isn't even very much carrot or cabbage. Disappointed The wonton soup was standard the shrimp rolls smaller than other places. The Beef in the beef Lo mean was shredded so thin it look like short fettuccine. I got extra beef and the noodle to beef was close to the my rice noodle dish. Joy luck doe not impress.

Yelp
Consistently good food that is tasty and prepared well. Have been getting their take-out for years and always are happy with it, we also get good fortunes!!

Yelp
Ordered lots of food for lunch, and all of it was, well..... not good. The eggrolls were crisp, but truly not much flavor. The Singapore Mai fun was probably the worst I've ever had. It tasted like old noodles, and had barely any chicken pork shrimp, or vegetables in it. It was just a big container full of noodles with hardly any flavor. This is the most expensive mai fun on the menu. Huge disappointment. The crab Rangoon appetizer were crispy, but again, also had hardly any substance in the middle. And the picture attached is what they call boneless barbecue spareribs. It's just a huge container of dried out pork with some red sauce poured over it. Total waste of $25. Never to return to this establishment.

Yelp
I usually partake of their orange chicken and some pork fried rice. This is an okay place to grab some Chinese take out in Delaware. A little out of the way for me, but worth the extra drive. The fried rice is well cooked. Flavor is distributed evenly along with nice chunks of char siu. Which does bring up a good point, the char siu has a crisp developed crust with firm meat without soggy parts. However, remember these are only the chunks in my fried rice. While standard fried rice I do think that if the fried rice is bad then the place is a lost cause, but Joy Luck does a good job, better then some but standard fare. The orange chicken is delcious. The peices are small, evenly breaded without that over-doughy mouth feel, and evenly cooked. Orange sauce has some actual orange peel; more likely for show then flavor though. The sauce is thick but not overly sweet and cloying. Honestly this is probably one of the better orange chicken dishes that I have had at various Delaware chinese take out places. The hot and sour soup is a little disappointing. The stock is overly flavored with shoyu leading to a more one dimensional soup then I prefer. The other ingredients are regular hot and sour soup fare. This was the low point of my meal, but not bad enough to make me throw it out.

Yelp
this is my first time ordering from JOY Luck and I'm sad to say I won't be going back. I ordered General Tso chicken extra spicy. I ordered a large beef lomein. The food was tasteless. The chicken was soggy and the peppers had no smell and looked old. The best part of my experience was the service. i was waited on quickly and the staff was friendly.

Yelp
Owner has to be the most unprofessional individual I've come in contact with, which is very unfortunate. We were planning a big catering event and received pricing from the staff the prior week. The day of the party, the prices had suddenly increased by 25% and that his staff "just didn't know how to do math." Besides being very mediocre food, that alone is enough to never go back. And by the way, the staff, minus Jake, were extremely helpful and friendly. Very unfortunate.

Yelp
Joy Luck is the best Chinese place I have eaten in Delaware. My wife and I used to get their dumplings (I got the steamed, my wife, the fried). Now my wife gets Kung Pao Chicken, and I get Seafood Lo Mein in a white sauce, a little spicy (and no, it's not on the menu that way. :D). Anyway, the dumplings are homemade/handmade (I've watched), and they use local ingredients for the non-Chinese stuff (e.g. cabbage, chicken, etc.). Tina and Andy are the nicest people that I've met, and I've never had a bad meal there in about 5 years. Great food, worth the trip. Best take-out place that I know of; I've got friends that make the drive to get it. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This is the top choice for Chinese takeout in the area. My wife is Filipino so I end up eating a lot of Chinese, and she never passes up a chance to eat from here. The spare ribs are especially good, but they really don't have a bad dish they serve especially when the owner is cooking. We are so lucky we live nearby.

Yelp
I have eaten here two days in a row so far. I've been dying to find a decent restaurant to find good Chinese food in this area. This was by far the best. They were nice on the phone, restaurant was clean, and the food was fresh. Absolutely delicious. Will be my new spot

Yelp
Sorry but I don't see what's so special here My son and I ordered takeout at the end of a long day. In spite of our ravenous hunger, we were underwhelmed. Positives? Egg rolls and Lo Mein, but they were nothing special. They only get mentioned here because we try to look for the positives. As for the rest of the meal, Egg Foo Young had no flavor, and neither did the fried rice. The shrimp in the shrimp and broccoli were over cooked and the dish also lacked flavor. (On the upside, the broccoli was fresh.) All in all, we wouldn't go out of our way to drive back; as a matter of fact, we have been in People's Plaza since our visit, but skipped them.

Yelp
Been going here since I was a kid and no Chinese food anywhere else compares. Great, friendly service as well.

Yelp
I came with my sister one night after work, we had called ahead and the lady on the phone had gave me a hard time about sizes. I went to hand her a 20 and as I was going to say keep the change, a cockroach ran across the counter!! I was disgusted.

Yelp
Joy Luck used yo be my go-to take-out Chinese restaurant in Bear. They must have changed cooks. The order we got a few days ago was OK at best, and some dishes were poor. "Happy Family" was tasteless. Maybe the didn't know how to use spices, but this was BLAND. And, like the "Sesame Chicken", more than few pieces of the meat were just bits of gristle. "Egg Foo Young was fine. "Chicken with Snow Peas" is a bland dish normally, but there was still significant gristle in the dish. Plus side: Dumplings, any way you like them are good. Fried wontons are good. They give you tons of rice. They give lots of condiment packets. Prices are decent - not cheap, but average. But, because of the taste issues on this trip, we are looking for a new Asian food home.

Yelp
I have been eating here for years and every meal has been delicious. We usually order their house fried rice, Hunan Shrimp, Sesame chicken, and soups.
