Bought food from here last night and I won’t be returning the sweet and sour sauce has the consistency of jelly my spring roll was dripping with grease the chow mien was just a tub of greasy noodles with no bean sprouts or veggies And the pork balls have made me sick all night it couldn’t get any worse I won’t be going back

Visiting from out of town, I wasn't sure which Google reviews to trust, so my partner and I took a chance on Joyful House. I'm glad we did - I got salt & pepper chips (one of my favourites) with a side of salt & pepper chicken and the Shanghai chicken. It was all top notch - well seasoned, with fresh, crunchy veg and just the right amount of salt and spice. My partner was also very happy with her salt & pepper prawn and satay chicken. The rice, like everything else, was fresh and fragrant. We'll be returning next time we're in the area - this place is better than the options we have at home! Thank you for making such a good job of my favourites 🙏

Sorry im having to do this because we order all the time but ive just rang to complain about been given raw chicken and was told "yeah yeah fine" Its not acceptable to be given the raw food especially raw chicken. I took one bite and was nearly sick so checked the rest and all the chicken balls were raw in the middle. Im not sure how I upload the picture of it but it was definitely raw.

Personally I quite liked the food but after a recent experience I won't be going back. After going to collect the food, we ordered some vegetable springs rolls (admittedly last minute but we didn't mind waiting). The person behind the counter was pleasant and accommodating about this and we paid for our food. Straight away the lady in the kitchen came out and started shouting at the poor lad at the till. He explained that we just wanted veg spring rolls and for some reason she made a huge scene about it all. Then after it was explained to her that we have paid and it is not a problem to wait, she shouted at us "what you want, mini ones?", we said "just normal sized vegetable spring rolls". She came back and shoved a bag in our food bag. We got home and out of sheer spite she decided to make us one absolutely huge comedy sized spring roll and also decided to put meat of unknown origin in it. The size of the spring rolm made the situation kinda funny. Sadly my partner is vegetarian and has now eaten chicken or something for the first time in well over a decade. Hope the owner reads this and has a serious word with the kitchen staff. Totally out of order and I will be making sure people know about this and avoid your business. That is clearly a tax avoidance scheme as they cancel every order after you've paid for it (explicitly in cash) 🤔

Ordered a chicken curry, chicken chow mein and salt & pepper chips. Really enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly. Will be back!

Fast delivery, incredible dishes. Ordered recently and the food was even better than usual. I’m not sure if they have a new chef or new supplier, but I’m not complaining. Amazing food. Best salt and pepper chips in Carlisle Best Kung Po chicken in Carlisle Their crispy noodle dishes are fantastic too. 5 star!!!

Ordered from here tonight for me & my partner. Food came about 20~ minutes earlier than expected which was a surprise. The food itself is lovely, not doused in grease like most other Chinese places in Carlilse, you get quite a lot when you order too (Rice & noodles galore!) so it's 100% worth it. I'd definitely get food from here again.

We order regularly from Joyful House. Excellent customer service, quick delivery and amazing food. Have had a lot of Chinese Takeaways over the years, this is definitely one of the best. Very highly recommended
