"The Museum: SFMOMA Meandering through SFMOMA’s multiple floors of modern art exhibitions isn’t a bad way to get your appetite going (plus, you’ll enrich your mind, etc. etc.). Once you’re sufficiently hungry, head across the street to Joyride Pizza. The casual Detroit-style pizza joint has outdoor tables and lots of greenery in the middle of Yerba Buena Gardens. They specialize in pizzas with golden-brown focaccia crusts with crispy cheese walls, chunky marinara sauce, and a garden’s worth of fresh toppings. "Despite looking like dense bricks, the Detroit-style pies at Joyride Pizza have an airy crust that avoids a soggy fate under a mountain of toppings. And we really do mean a mountain. Pies are covered with what feels like an entire garden’s worth of vegetables like brussels sprouts, tomatoes, or arugula, or have thick stripes of tomato sauce running across the top. Crispy outer cheese walls caramelized to deep golden-brown and slightly sweet house tomato sauce we’d gladly funnel into our mouths are other reasons to love these pies. They make one of the top Detroit-style pies in town, and the space is ideal for receptions, life celebrations, and forced moments of corporate team bonding—it’s located in Yerba Buena Gardens, right next to the Moscone Center convention hub. Joyride is huge and versatile, with an indoor space with huge glass windows and a garden-like outdoor terrace.
