J.R. Crickets - Review - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"It’s no surprise this iconic wing spot makes the list of best State Farm Arena foods. Although this location didn’t top our J.R. Crickets Power Ranking, there’s something elite about snacking on lemon pepper flats and crinkle fries while watching young phenom Jalen Johnson windmill dunk. Two locations in the arena make it easy to find your way to the unofficial wing ministry of the city. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

I went to J.R. Crickets to order some food and immediately noticed that the prices on the self-serve kiosk didn’t match the prices on the menu. When I brought it up, the woman who was cooking—who I understand was the only person working at the time—responded by yelling at me. I get that she may have been overwhelmed, but that doesn’t excuse unprofessional behavior. The situation could’ve been handled much more calmly and respectfully. I will never step foot into this location again. No one should be treated like that just for asking a question.

How you go from 25.99 for a dub to 34.26? That's what I'm tryna figure out. See I called in my order and got the Trenches special. Do note it's not on the menu so you might not be able to get it, just depends on who answer the phone. It's half lemon pepper, half hot with 3 dirty birds. Now they ain't tell me on the phone I got charged for two splits, a non-cash adjustment fee, a prep upgrade dressing, blue cheese + sales tax. That's low key wild..I would of cancel but I was already there by then. I think the customer service could be better. It kinda was like you asked for it so we did it...but bruh y'all could of told me. I ain't know about them hidden fees. Y'all acting like Netflix. In this economy every dollar matter. Also, I didn't know this spot was on the show Atlanta...but they got news articles inside about it. I'm not a fan of popular spots cause by the time everyone knows about something the quality has went down. I love that show...but curious why picking a place that has a *causian cricket named J.R. (disclaimer: this word was used in the article on the wall in the restaurant) as the logo for a show like that? Of all the other small blk owned spots in the city. Just my two cents. Anyways. Here's my thoughts about the wings. Too greasy, not enough spice, overly seasoned, over cooked, too little meat, not enough variation. They tasted more like leftovers instead of freshly prepared wings. Now the french fries with the seasoned sauce from the front!!! Bruh....now them thangs hitting. Call em Acuna cause thy hit em out the park. Anyways. The boxes that the chicken come in are cool too but they don't travel well...the wings grease might fuk up ya seats or break if you don't hold it right. Also it gets a little sloppy with the sauces for a good picture and the plastic in between. Would recommend something more stable. Like a plastic to go box that people usually have and just put the logo on that. The box seems more fit for a burger. Last thing. This was the biggest ranch/blue cheese I ever got. I'm guessing that's why I was up charged! Lol. It was fresh though. Probably the highlight of the meal besides the fries. It really saved the wings.

Food was delicious but the fact that I couldn't get a courtesy cup of ice after spending over $100 on food was crazy!

I'm only giving this restaurant two stars for the food because of the quality I received after paying $18 for tenders w/ onion rings I received four tenders and four onion rings. The tenders were as thin as a piece of paper and unseasoned. It was already late and I'm aware that every JR Cricket is franchised so the prices are different, I didn't mind paying the $18 but what I received was not worth that. The atmosphere was great the music playlist was 70s and I love Evelyn Champagne and that music genre, The service was good, I was the only one in the store they greeted me by name when giving me my food very good customer service. I think that if anything this restaurant can improve on is the quality and consistency of the size of their food. If it wasn't so late I would of ask for a refund but I didn't have too many options. I took a photo and video but I'm not sure where I can post it to show the size of the tenders I received

Love J.R. Crickets wings! Always get the 10 piece, Hot Buffalo, with fries and they're always great! Must admit, the fish smelled delicious! Think I will try it next time I go downtown. Service was great, fast, and friendly, wait time was minimal, everything was hot and fresh. One of my favorite wing spots in Atlanta!

Got a big box of wings & fries on our walk back from the Masquerade to eat in our room at the Candler. It wasn't a bad experience. We got the signature flavor of Atlanta, lemon pepper wet. The wings were a bit anemic. The sauce was a bit too salty. That said none of it was by any means bad and the price wasn't too unreasonable, especially for downtown Atlanta. The place was packed, and while we certainly waited for a hot minute, it wasn't too ridiculous. The food was fresh, still plenty hot by the time we got back to the room. I wouldn't rule out stopping here again.

I have more stars for service and atmosphere because i used uber and they did nothing wrong, the food was over cooked and under seasoned 😩 I’m visiting from STL and was told this was a place to try, I’m disappointed $25 and i didn’t even get ketchup for my room temperature fries
