J.R. Crickets Riverdale

Went here this afternoon with my dad and brother in law at 4pm. I Had single order ( 10 wings and your choice of fries or celery/ blue cheese with a sprite to drink. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all and quick service. They cook everything fresh to order...and you can definitely taste it too. If you are in the Riverdale, area..check them out.

I’m honestly shocked by my experience at this place. It’s brand new, but it already looks old and shabby—like it hasn’t been properly taken care of. The vibe is just off. To make things worse, they add automatic gratuity to your bill, which feels unfair, especially when you’re not expecting it. I ordered wings for $13, but when I looked at the total, it came to $17. That extra charge wasn’t explained, and it just seemed like a sneaky way to hike up the price without notice. The cleanliness of the place was another big issue. It felt unsanitary from the start. There was a dog roaming around the establishment, which is just not acceptable in a food setting. On top of that, someone’s box of food was placed inside the drink cooler, which is completely unhygienic and unprofessional. The whole experience felt off, and it seemed like no one was really paying attention to the details. Overall, I’m beyond unsatisfied with my visit, and I won’t be coming back. I’d advise anyone thinking about going here to seriously reconsider. It’s disappointing to see a place that could be nice fall so short in so many ways.

This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I can’t understand why the staff, particularly this one woman, treated me and my daughter so poorly. We were simply trying to resolve an issue with our order. I called ahead and was told that if there was a mistake, it would be fixed. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, this woman began insulting me and aggressively using profanity. She wouldn’t even touch the bag of food she prepared for us, nor would she acknowledge that instead of the lemon pepper wings we ordered, we received lemony pepper wings, which are just mild wings with lemon pepper seasoning. For 30 minutes, she argued with the cook and me, refusing to provide service and telling the cook not to address the issue. The cook even attempted to fix the order and pay for it but she called him names for trying to diffuse the situation. It wasn’t until 45 minutes later that the manager arrived to close the store. I informed her of the situation, and then she finally fixed part of the order, but the original food was cold. She started cleaning and sweeping and acted as if she wanted to sweep out feet if we didn’t move. I’m thankful I used DoorDash because this awful server didn’t receive any gratuity from me. I would not recommend ordering from here. There are other locations with much better customer service. I never imagined that asking for a correction to an order I paid for would lead to such disrespect. I thank God for my beauty, brains and COMPOSURE—this behavior was completely unacceptable.

You know I’ve really tried with this place and I only come here because they stay open late ( and that’s subjective) and it’s convenient. They already over charge for EVERYTHING. I went tonight and specifically ask for a med ranch and a med blue cheese. All for me to get my food and they give me all blue cheese then when I bring it to their attention they say “ we are out of ranch” why would you even let me order the food. Yall already charge $2.99 for all flats, a automatic service gratuity. I see why this place barely gets any business. Then tried to give me some ranch out of the bar that’s next to beer like if I wanted hidden valley ranch I could get that at home. It’s no way I paid $45 for wings and shrimp at a fast food bar. I should have just went to the 50 yard line for this mess.

went to JJ's Fish & Chicken for the first time and had a great experience! A lovely young lady named Density greeted me with a big smile and took my order. She helped me choose the salmon bites with 10 oz wings, and her energy was amazing. I truly appreciated her friendly and cheerful vibe — it made my visit even better. Thank you, Density, for your great service and warm personality!

One of the worst experiences I have ever had at anywhere in Atlanta!!!! I come in to purchase there said Wednesday special! I ordered and paid with the lady behind the counter only for the RUDEST women I have ever met in my life to come back and say we have to void this because it’s for dine in only! She did all this before I could say if I was staying in to eat or not!! It is always the black owned or ran business that do the rudest most unpleasant experiences and they wonder why ppl don’t want to shop with them. I will never suggest ANYONE EVER VISITS THIS LOCATION!!! I will never come back here and I don’t think anyone of your should either!!!!!

Horrible Experience – Would Not Recommend I recently ordered food from JR Crickets, and unfortunately, the experience was terrible from start to finish. Due to my long work hours, I had a friend pick up the food for us. She mentioned that the customer service was not so great, but we still gave the restaurant a chance because we were hungry. I wanted ribs, but the cashier/server stated they had just gotten done and needed to cool before serving, so we ordered wings, fries, etc. After ordering, we noticed a $6 automatic gratuity charge added to the order. When we asked about it, the owner explained that the fee was implemented during the pandemic to ensure servers received proper tips, and there was a sign posted about it. While we weren’t completely comfortable with that, we decided to go ahead with our order. The biggest issue came when I received the food. We had ordered a side of coleslaw, but when I tasted it, it had a horrible sour smell and taste and the temperature was off. As soon as I took a bite, the taste made me cringe as well along with noticing a gnat on the container. Some of the fries were undercooked, the tenders were soft, and slightly bland. I immediately called the restaurant, and the server was unapologetic. She kept placing me on hold several times without resolving the issue. She offered to replace the coleslaw or give fries, which I didn’t want, and eventually told me they wouldn’t issue a refund. The lack of care and the quality of the food were unacceptable. I later checked reviews online and saw similar complaints from other customers regarding the automatic gratuity, poor food quality. I wanted to support this business, but after this experience, I will not return and urge others to think twice before visiting. This is not how you treat paying customers.

Place was dirty wings n ribs were ok but the place just need to be cleaned and wiped down good the napkin dispenser he brought to us had dust all on the top

Neighborhood gem Great customer service and food. They have different specials at times and love DJ. My family and I mostly eat the wings in different flavors but the GA peach and Sanchez (delicious). Place doesn't look that big from outside but holds a decent amount and has a variety of sitting. Also has a full bar and several tvs. Can't wait to go back to try something different.

Food over priced for refried wings that were hard and dry. Do not recommend. And I went around lunch time and it was slow. There was one other person in there. I had my order to go. When I got home I noticed the wings were refried. I said I wouldn't go back because why do that?!?

door dash ordered- wings were not crispy called mgr who stated they all come out crispy no they din't. I got my wings in 20 minutes next time I'll go where I know they understand what crispy means I'm not ordering again from them

Food is always amazing, . I always get the lemon pepper chicken wings and they are seasoned to perfection . The bar isn't crowed and the bar staff is always nice .

We ordered to go, which went pretty well, but we were not informed that since we wanted sweet potato fries that there would be an additional charge when we got the bill. It was much larger than we had expected because we were also not told that they were including the gratuity in our bill, nevertheless, we agreed under those circumstances and then waited 20 minutes for our food and then tell us that they were out of the sweet potato fries we originally came in for. The communication I expected as a patron of this establishment left me not wanting to return.

In the past, I've had some disappointing experiences at this location due to poor customer service and rude staff, including the bartenders and manager. Since my moms live nearby, I decided to give it another try, a year later and I'm glad I did! I was greeted by a lovely new bartender named shun , who completely changed my experience. Her friendly and attentive service was a refreshing change, and the food was fantastic. I'm not sure if there's a new owner, but Shun made a great impression. Keep up the great work, Riverdale.

Wings excellent as expected. Tried their wings & ribs combo. Visited on a Tuesday evening so not crowded and good server. There was security checking purses etc so be advised. They have a decently sized bar so that's cool, music and tvs etc. Saw someone smoking hookah so that's an option as well. Still the best wings, solid anytime. The ribs were average but I just didn't care for the sauce, which was dark and very sweet. Also, although you can call in a carryout order, they don't start making it until you show up so you can't pay in advance and just have it ready when you arrive, but they were pretty fast when I did that.

I am changing my review. How are you giving me 8 mushrooms and you charge at least $8-10 for them. We have to work on that! The food always tastes good though.

Food was terrible.. service ok Three small tenders with a big a waffle and burn fried pickle chips I will never order from here again just a waste of money

We called the order in, and once we arrived the order was taken but not made. Had to wait an additional 15 mins. Even though, literally no one is in there. Then the shrimp was cooked so hard, you can't even bite through the breading. As an Atlanta Native, this has to be the worse JR crickets.

Very disappointed with my online order once I got home and opened my boxes. Completely ridiculous that a catfish nuggets basket that cost $13.59 had 7 small bites in of fish in the box and my fried mushrooms box for $8.99 was also very skimpy. I'm not sure if their inventory is low but it is unfair to allow customers to order and not be able to completely fill the order.

Worst food and service ever. Ordered a chicken Philly and wings was not worth it at all. Very disappointed. Need a whole new staff

Every time I go here, I'm never disappointed! I usually get my normal hot lemon pepper wing combo! But I recently tried the smoked ribs and hands down "the best smoked ribs in the city" so now I get the wings and ribs combo! And I always end up having leftovers for later!

Mj was excellent and very attentive, he checked on our table often cleaned the table, made sure the food was to our liking and all. Thanks for the exceptional customer service! MJ'
