11 Great Restaurants Hiding In Random Places - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"When your laundry pile is the size of Mount Everest and your stomach is on E, J’s Snack Land is a multi-tasking dream. This dual laundromat and Mexican street food spot in an unassuming Smyrna plaza lets us get through a wash cycle while snacking on three small tacos (preferably with salty chorizo) for only $12. Most things here need a little boost in the seasoning department, so drench everything in the fiery red salsa or tangy salsa verde. Of course, if anything dribbles onto your shirt, there’s a line of washing machines ready to help." - jacinta howard, juli horsford, nina reeder

Do your laundry while eating decent tacos at J's Snack Land - Review - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"When your laundry pile is the size of Mount Everest and your pantry is bare, J’s Snack Land is the perfect place to multi-task. Weave your way through whirring washing machines that blast lavender scents into the air to get to the taqueria’s small order counter in the next room. They’ve got all the Mexican street food staples on the menu (pupusas, tortas, quesadillas), but the tacos are the thing. For $12, you get three small street tacos (get the salty chorizo) decorated with a heavy sprinkle of onions and cilantro and a side of rice and beans. Everything needs a little help in the seasoning department, so order the fiery red salsa that’ll put your spicy tolerance to the test. If you dribble any of it on your shirt, J’s knows how to help with that, too. @infatuation_atl We checked out this taqueria in Smyrna that’s inside a laundromat. Here’s our thoughts. #infatuationatl #atlantarestaurants #atlantatacos #EEEEEATS ♬ original sound - Infatuation Atlanta Keep scrolling for the food rundown Food Rundown Tacos These are small, soft corn tortilla street tacos with the usual protein options (steak, chorizo, chicken, al pastor) and a cilantro and chopped onion topping. The chorizo is our favorite because it has the pleasing saltiness of a potato chip. It’s enough to give it a burst of flavor but not too much that it necessitates a huge gulp from your agua fresca. photo credit: Sarah Newman Nachos Thin, factory-made tortilla chips are completely hidden by globs of refried beans, shredded chicken, guacamole, and sour cream drizzles that are cross-hatched in a way our middle school art teacher would be proud of. You won’t be fighting over the last chip, and you shouldn’t come here just for this. But it’s a decent size for the $12 price tag—big enough that you could slowly munch on it throughout your entire wash and dry cycle. photo credit: Sarah Newman Tamale This is skippable because it’s so dry. But if you’re a condiment fanatic, douse it in the fiery red salsa or more mild verde sauce, and it instantly becomes tolerable. photo credit: Nina Reeder" - Juli Horsford

It’s a Mexican restaurant with a laundry attached to it — a pretty savvy business idea if you ask me! The staff were super friendly, and we really liked what we ordered. Great food, good vibes, and definitely a memorable experience.

This is really good authentic Mexican food, all the ingredients taste fresh, i order for the first round , a veggie taco and rice, second round I ordered a veggie burrito. And once you bite into it you can taste the culture. Very good, located inside the laundromat on spring rd, surrounded by plenty shopping.

It’s a simple spot - they don’t over complicate things. I gave the atmosphere a 4/5 because I do feel like the seating area could have been wiped down a bit more. Otherwise great people , very nice and the food is great!

This is what you call a hole in the wall. Very unassuming place that is connected to a laundry facility... And located in a small strip mall. We were staying at an Airbnb nearby and picked it because my daughter wanted a tamale. We were not disappointed. Tamales, quesadilla, and tacos were absolutely fantastic. Watch out for the red sauce...... It's HOT!!!! My daughter loved the refried beans and said it was the best quesadilla. Staff was super friendly and engaging.

Google
Hidden Gem in Cumberland for real Mexican Street Food. This little gem is hidden away in the front of a laundry mat, but don’t let that that sway you. This is a great place for a quick lunch where the service is great and the staff is very friendly. You must try the chicken street tacos; they are simple and very flavorful. Highly recommended stop if you are anywhere in the area and need a quick bite to eat.

I love the food! It’s always a great place to have lunch. The older lady in the back can work on her customer service skills but overall I would go back.

After wanting some authentic tacos, I found this little gem. The reviews are great, so I stopped. It's next to a laundry mat in a small strip and looks run down, but don't be discouraged. I ordered two tacos, one steak, one chorizo. Topped with fresh cilantro and onion. I waited five minutes, maybe. You can see them cook your food. There is a good but of sitting space inside. The people who took my order were super friendly. The tacos were exactly what I was craving. Both chorizo and the steak were tender, with no big chunks. It was seasoned perfectly. I ordered a side of sour cream. The tacos come with a spicy red salsa and a mild green salsa. The mild green salsa was more chunky. The red one was smooth. I prefer spicy, and it did the job. Just enough spice and heat to be noticed, but not overwhelming. I was hoping they had pombazos on the menu, but they didn't. No worries! If you're in the area, stop by. Will definitely be back.
