"Leasing nearly 100 acres in the Pajaro Valley just north of Salinas, Javier Zamora of JSM Organics runs a business where he estimates 50 percent goes to grocery stores, 25 percent to schools, 20 percent to restaurants and 5 percent to farmers’ markets; when schools shut down he lost the entire month of May and part of June (about 21,000 pounds of strawberries), plowed some berries back into the ground, but managed to place some orders with charities (including Escuela Popular in San Jose) and is now seeing grocery orders pick up and feeling optimistic." - Becky Duffett
