The 12 Best Coffee Shops in Bogotá, Colombia | Eater

"Created as the public face of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation in the 1950s, Juan Valdez is perhaps the most recognizable man in the history of coffee. And while Juan Valdez is fictional, shops bearing his name certainly aren’t: They’re by far Colombia’s most ubiquitous and popular coffee chain, with 209 locations throughout the country, and more than 100 abroad. The average Juan Valdez is kind of like a Colombian Starbucks, but this three-story shop is different: A specialty vibe pervades, with coffee sold by region, and then brewed with the pour-over device of your choice. Downstairs, the coffee-farm vibe comes through with rustic ceramic flooring, vertical gardens climbing the walls, and deep armchairs; upstairs, there are long tables for groups, and the rooftop is ideal for relaxing, with very comfortable sofas." - Karen Attman

This is a great place to have some great Colombian coffee with a cozy atmosphere. However, it has some points that should improve, as improve the service, when I visited it was almost empty and there was no reason to wait a long time for my order, one of the coffees arrived cool and not hot because they hold it until the rest of the order were ready so it get cold. There is only one restroom to be shared for men and women. It was dirty, smelled badly, and was too small for the big place it is.

Great Juan Valdez Insignia Store. It has a lot of space to come and habe a coffe and work or nice conversation. The wifi works great there are many areas where you can work. I recommend the Strong Capuccino and the Matcha Tea with almond milk.

Appalling and unstable wi-fi. To connect with the network, for only two hours I can just navigate for one and a half because of how unstable this network is. I paid the premium costs of this food, considering there are other coffee shops with better coffee with high expectations from this place. I have already had to sign in three times to this network on my phone because it automatically disconnect every few minutes I stop using it. Meaning having to re-sign every time this happens

We have been here with friends. We tested coffees from Columbia prepared in different ways. Really well explained by one of the baristas. Try to pick couple models of the Juan Valdez coffee and ask the guys to give you a demo. Prepare to be impressed!

A beautiful coffee shop where you can relax and work with plenty of seating on 3 floors including the rooftop terrace. This is the nicest Juan Valdez location I've visited.

Great coffee, first time trying cold brew coffee and is such full of flavour. I also ordered a cheese muffin. Wifi is not the best, but works for simple stuff like write this review.
