The 12 Best Tapas Spots In Madrid - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Juana La Loca checks all the boxes of a perfect tortilla de patata—it's loaded with caramelized onions, and the egg is never overcooked, but not so drippy it feels raw. This tortilla is why everyone flocks to this trendy, always-packed neighborhood joint, especially on Sundays when friends meet up with friends for a ceremonial La Latina beer and tapas bar crawl. Definitely make a reservation for both the roomier seated section or try your luck walking into the standing area in the bar (just expect to go shoulder-to-shoulder with other diners)." - lori zaino

The 25 Best Restaurants & Bars In Madrid 2024 - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Juana La Loca is a stylish, popular restaurant with glass cases sitting on the bar filled with tapas and pintxos. Deciding on what to order feels like the tapas version of Tinder, only unlike Tinder, every single option at Juana is actually appealing—especially their famous tortilla de patata, a dripping egg and potato dish loaded with caramelized onions. It’s always packed, so definitely make a reservation, especially if you want to eat here on Sundays. That’s when locals head to the La Latina neighborhood to roam around, drink beers with friends, and tapas bar hop. " - Lori Zaino

Juana La Loca - Review - Barrio de La Latina - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Juana’s drippy tortilla de patata, loaded with caramelized onions, is locally famous for its perfect consistency—the egg is never overcooked, but not so moist it feels raw, which is the key to perfecting the dish. It gets packed in here, especially on Sundays, when locals head to the La Latina neighborhood to roam around, drink beers with friends, and tapas bar hop. Definitely make a reservation for both the comfy seated section or the standing area in the bar (where you’ll probably still be shoulder-to-shoulder with folks)." - Team Infatuation

Oh my gosh, it was just so good! This is not the typical, traditional pinxtos you're expecting, but it's even better. The tuna panko pinxtos were absolutely phenomenal! The teriyaki eel with foie and crispy seaweed and rice was so good that we ordered it again. We also got the egg with bacon pinxto which was simple but done very well. The smoked salmon one was so full of salmon and the filling was so yummy! We also got the traditional egg with potato and it was the best we've had during our trip. You should definitely make a reservation here! The line was so long when we got there, and even as we left, there was still a queue. Highly recommend this place! One of the best restaurants we've eaten at!

I came at 1 pm and could be seated without reservation. Tortilla de patata for 5€ is not bad, but still not my favorite food. A bit too salty to my taste. Nigiri de anguila with foi for 21€ are very good. Service very quick and correct, not the Spanish standard.

I’ve been told multiple times that this place was great, and I can’t explain how true that is. We ordered the tortilla, artichokes and spinach buñuelos, and they were all amazing! The tortilla and artichokes were one of the best I’ve had so far. The atmosphere is also very nice and the personnel is very friendly and fast. One thing to consider is that this place is always full, so you need to get there early.

Was a very pleasant surprise. Without doubt, it has been the best Tortilla de Patatas ive tried in Madrid. Excellent service and a very solid menu. Ill be back

Phenomenal lunch. I was skeptical it'd be this good because it's so popular with tourists, but there were lots of locals, which was a great sign. Lo and behold, each dish that came out was better than the next. Probably best tasting tortilla de patatas I've tried. Our waitress Alejandra provided great service too. Coming back for sure!

The tortilla was very tasty. We didn’t have a reservation, but we were able to have some pinchos at the bar. This is a great place to try tortilla — even though it may seem like a simple dish, here it tastes special, and it’s definitely worth ordering. I’m sure the other dishes are also great. For lunch or dinner, I recommend making a reservation, as the place filled up very quickly after opening.

I came with a clear goal — to try the tortilla — and I have to say, I really liked it. I’d rate it 8 out of 10. We also sampled a few other dishes, but the highlights for me were definitely the tortilla and the dessert with dulce de leche. The dessert was particularly interesting and unique — typically it's made with chocolate, so this variation was a pleasant surprise and worth trying.

This is the best restaurant in Madrid, in my opinion. For local, fast and delicious food, come here. Freddy the bartender and the rest of team were amazing!
