The 33 Best Restaurants In Melbourne 2023

"The typical Australian burger is not like its American counterpart. Order one with "the lot" at a fish-and-chip shop and you'll get less cheese, more bacon, a fried eff, and a slice of beetroot. But at this Brunswick diner the burger leans more In-N-Out or Shake Shack than beachside takeaway joint. Juanita’s is actually a fried chicken joint, so there’s just one burger on the menu: a brisket patty stacked with american cheese, dill pickles, and honey-mustard mayo on a house bun. Of course, the free-range fried chook (we’ll let you use context clues to figure that nickname out) is exceptional, as are the pink Simpsons-esque donuts. Stop here before catching a live music show or bar-hopping around Brunswick." - ellen fraser

Google
Juanita Peaches! Hands down the most amazing chicken burgers in Melbourne. The space has such a cool, funky vibe—plenty of room inside and a gorgeous sunny terrace outside. Perfect for soaking up some rays on a chilly Melbourne day while out exploring. And the donuts… wow. Fluffy, sweet, and absolutely delicious! Thanks, JP. Love your work 🫶🏻

Food was delicious and service was fantastic. Probably wouldn’t order the buttermilk cos salad again but it was nice. Fried chicken was amazing. Double cheese burger was phenomenal. Donuts were fantastic

Google
Listed as Top 5 burgers in Melbourne on TimeOut and does seem to live up to that! Their patties are super juicy and smoky and it is sandwiched with the most balanced condiments. Their bun is on the harder side - I prefer a potato Martin’s bun or a sesame seeded bun. Not looking for a smash here, looking for a good solid burger. Fried chicken sandwich was my favourite over the cheeseburger. The way it was infused with that chilli marinade was crack. Tenders were just as good but they seem to be a bit inconsistent as I had better from them last time. But the chicken burger was elite. Great all day donuts and insane drinks including coffee and cocktails!

I’ve called in here twice in recent weeks, and have been exceptionally impressed by everything, but particularly the chicken sandwich. It uses thigh, which is so much juicer than chicken breast. The toppings are also full of flavour too, and the staff are on top of everything. Highly recommend and can clearly see why people name the place as being the best chicken sandwich in Melbourne.

Just had the 2 Piece Box with Slaw, Fries, Bread Roll and Gravy and it was absolutely fantastic! The chicken (on the smaller side) was crispy and juicy, perfectly complemented by the creamy slaw and crispy fries. The bread roll was warm and soft, and the gravy was the perfect finishing touch. A truly satisfying meal that hit the spot! However, the cheeseburger and chips were a bit on the salty side.

Google
Might just be one of the best, if not the best double cheeseburger in Melbourne. Classic cheeseburger, nice thick meat patty, perfect amount of everything in each bite. chips not heavily salted either. Chicken as well, nice and crispy, not tough or dry. well worth the price.

Google
Delish burgers. The classic beef is a must try but I also loved the fried chicken sandwich - add hot sauce.

Burger had good potential, but was unfortunately very salty. Chips were good. The Baja fish bowl was also good.

Yelp
BURGERS! Ahem, pardon me, burgers. Sorry, couldn't contain my excitement for the deliciousness that unfolded last night at Juanita Peaches. I had been stalking their Instagram for a long time and had already partaken in one of their donuts (the incredible All Day Donuts) and last night, on a drizzly Thursday, I finally decided to stuff my face with one of their shiny burgers. It's a cute and cosy little place, with only a few tables and chairs. It is certainly not a pumping venue by any means, despite the rap music blaring and the hipster staff. We ordered the classic cheeseburger with fries and two margaritas, because why not? The margaritas are the only cocktail on the menu, with wines by Noisy Ritual and a small selection of local craft beers. The burger was perfection. Filled to the brim with pickles, drippy yellow cheese and a fresh-made patty. The bun was made in-house and had a glossy finish but was not too sweet. Served in a classic red american-style basket. If you're hunting for some of Melbourne's best burgers, Juanita Peaches should definitely be added to your list.

Yelp
Retro style furniture, like an old kitchen from the 70s or 80s..not a bad thing! Open space with plenty of light. Menu very basic...good for the indecisive (I can be like this on occasion, so I welcome a simple menu) People were coming in a bit for take away, as they is a very lucrative doughnut display near the counter..might have to try one next time.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this place off Sydney Road for ages but always seem to want to try on the days they were closed. Finally on a sunny Saturday afternoon we plopped ourselves down to try out the fried chicken on offer. I had the 2 piece deal while Mr T tried the fried chicken burger. The ingredients to both were nearly identical I just didn't get a bun with my plate. Needless tp say both were equally delicious. Juicy fried chicken. The accompanying Boss sauce had a little tiny kick but was more ketchup like. But went down very well with the shoestring fries. Despite being famous for their donuts, we just didn't have space in our tummy to try thos time so will definitely be back to try sample them.
