"Juan’s is a local favorite for tacos and burritos with a New Orleans kick. The huge menu includes taco truck specialties, nachos every which way (try the Hawaii 5-0-4 with bacon, pulled pork and pineapple mango salsa), and thinking outside the taco box dishes like of Mardi Gras Indian tacos made with roasted corn and squash as well as banh mi tacos." - Beth D'Addono, Clair Lorell

Our first night in NOLA we headed down to Juan's Flying Burrito. The shop is cosy and there was no wait when we went which was great. We ordered the chips trio and I was very surprised at the size of the serving. In Australia for the same price you would have gotten 3 small dishes of each drip and a handful of chips. This was basically a meal in itself. I ordered 4 flavours of tacos, two different types of chicken, pork and beef. All of them were great though a bit expensive for what they were. My partner had the Burrito with ground beef which he said was very good. Service was fine and drinks were reasonably priced.

Google
Solid food for a very reasonable price. The Flying Burrito didn't disappoint. Try the street corn. Not an everyday occurrence but the Swiftie watching was a definite treat while we were there.

Google
The food and service were great! I loved the ambiance as well. Price was reasonable for the portion size. The stadium nachos and fajitas can easily feed 3-4 people! In all my years living in the US, I've never ever seen portions of nachos or fajitas this huge before so I was really surprised. There was no wait line when I got there and we were seated promptly.

We ordered the guac, salsa& queso. That was definitely a filling starter. I took a bite of my spouse burrito and man was it good. Best burritos I’ve had. He ordered the house special aka Juan’s flying burrito. I ordered the Steak Fajitas delicious. GREAT PORTIONS please don’t change. Blackened Fish tacos. Like I said perfect portions filled and also with flavor. Get the GREEN SALSA. I’m from San Antonio. I love Mexican food but some of the best green salsa. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans. We will be back next trip.

Great atmosphere and awesome food! After arriving late to our accomodation we decided to try something close by and we are so glad that we did! From the moment we walked in the vibe was relaxed and friendly, so we ordered the Chips and Guacamole and the Street Corn Dip to start off with. The staff were happy for us to graze at our own pace which was greatly appreciated as it had been a big day for us. We then decided to order The Luau Quesadilla and the Skirt Steak Fajitas. All the food was really delicious but The Luau in particular was absolutely awesome! The service here was also fantastic! We were lucky enough to be served by Ke and we never wanted for anything whilst she looked after our table. Even at the end - when it was obvious we had a heap of leftovers - Ke brought over take away containers for us (unprompted). An absolute star. We would definitely recommend this Mexican restaurant!

Google
The food here was delicious and great portion sizes for the price! We tried the Nachos and steak fajitas and both were great, service was efficient and friendly, we would recommend this place to anyone visiting new orleans!

Google
We loved our meal here. Very tasty food and a good standard margarita (may have saved my life that day) 👍 Steak fajitas, quesadillas, and tacos were all excellent. The house hot sauce was pretty impressive too.

Google
Good fresh food. I ordered a vegetarian burrito with a side of guacamole, as well as blackened fish tacos. So delicious. I am a pescatarian, so I have eaten plenty of fish tacos. I have to say these are the best I have ever tasted. The right amount of heat. I will eat here every time I am in the area. Loved it.

Yelp
Coming from a town where we can find a delish Mexican joint around most corners, I wish we had one of these closer! (although I'm definitely willing to fly out to NOLA for this + beignets) Chips + Salsa to start, delish Non Alcoholic beer options, always a win (love me some 0% Heineken after a long day of walking and footballing) Red Chile Chicken Quesadilla - OMG I still dream about it. The flavors that mixed together were something I wouldn't have thought to combine yet worked SO well. 10/10 Loved the vibe here too, everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy working there, they had football playing on the couple of tvs they had, and had outdoor seating as well. Cannot wait to recommend this place to my friends who head out to NOLA!

Adriana V.

Yelp
I love a good low key mexican place but this was just "ok". We ordered several tacos and quesadillas but the meat was not seasoned, very bland. The food is good priced and it came out fast but not the best.

Yelp
Juan's Flying Burrito has multiple locations throughout New Orleans. I've been to a few locations and always enjoy my experience. The food is always good and the service dependable. This location was not super busy when we arrived. Our group of three was able to get seated right away. I'm always a fan of a restaurant with Chips and Salsa and can usually fill up just on this. So on days when I'm not super hungry and I'm eating somewhere where I know the Chips are free and delicious, I will order another dip and just eat this. And that's why I did on this visit. But if you are super hungry, I would recommend a Burrito or tacos! My group ordered Queso, Guacamole, Mexican Corn Dip, and Salsa. The queso was warm and smooth, the guacamole was fresh, and the Mexican corn dip was flavorful. Very satisfying! Service: Service was great! Our waitress was super attentive and checked in with us frequently. Drinks: Full bar Happy Hour: All Week from 2pm-6pm. There is also Taco specials on Tuesdays. Parking: Paid Street Parking.

Yelp
This review is on a Uber eats order. Juans didn't disappoint. I was kind of weary ordering my food to go getting delivered because sometime the quality doesn't hold up but I was wrong. The portion size was great. I got the flying fajitas. It came with grilled chicken, shrimp and steak and then a separate container. They had all my sour cream guac lettuce, Pico and two sauces on the side and fajitas wrapped up nice and warm. The quality was there and the order arrived in a timely fashion and hot which is all I can ask for. I wouldn't hesitate again ordering Uber eats with juans.

Yelp
I'm STILL thinking about their Jerk Chicken Burrito I had on vacation... Great food, reasonable prices for the area. I went to Juan's 3 times in my NOLA trip due to burrito addiction. If you're strapped for time, I'd recommend doing to go orders as the service for some is quite slow. Delicious!

Tiffany F.

Yelp
They have Tabasco Sriracha!!! Ahhh!! My new favorite sauce!! I got the breakfast burrito No. 1 for $11 and added that sauce and it's heavenly!! We are regulars here so the staff are our buddies now!! Love the ambience and we can walk here!

Ruth N.

Yelp
I had gotten take out a few weeks ago and it was awesome. So my partners and I decided to go in for dinner. Food was not good. Service was ok but we all went home feeling sick.

Sa'Rah H.

Yelp
Juan's never disappoints or at least rarely ever. I was famished after a long day of work and hobnobbing at the social club. My friend and I zoomed our way over in my fiat and were greeted with friendly smiles the moment we walked inside. There weren't many people around on a Thursday night so we were able to sit wherever we wanted. Our waiter was a sweet pleasant guy with a lot of enthusiasm and patience for our antics. I had water but my friend ordered the frozen lemonade and said it was really strong . For starters we had the dip trio and it was pretty standard as far as chips and dips go. In ordered the Luau quesadilla, one of my favorites on the menu. It was so yummy and I devoured it because as I said I was famished. The pineapple, bacon and shrimp really makes a great bite all together. Vibes were chill and I'll definitely be back next time I feel moved to return.

Yelp
Food: Great prices for giant portions. Unique Mexican items and an array to choose from. Everything was amazing! Ordered chicken nachos for an app, and vegetarian T.S salad and chicken quesadillas as entrees. We were so full by the end! Service: Our server was Vegas, who was very sweet and attentive. No complaints. Ambiance: Place is cute and clean and overall, a nice spot near the super dome to grab something before or after a game!

Billie Jo M.

Yelp
Popped in for a little snack after a Yelp event and exploring the city. The interior was very fun and inviting. Our server was super nice. My only complaint is that my tortilla was hard and tough. The inside of it was very tasty. I'll be back to try it again though.

Monica G.

Yelp
Not being able to make decent Nachos should be a crime. Especially if the restaurant claims to be Mexican. Take a look at my photo and tell me what I paid $13 for. The salsa is just tomato sauce and tastes nothing like pico de gallo. The accompanying green and red salsas on the side are disgusting. The chips were all broken into tiny pieces. Hardly any cheese and dry chicken. I am not sure why there are so many people eating here. This is not Mexican food.

Darren N.

Yelp
Server was solid even though I made a to go order 10 20 mins before they closed. The food was good and you do get a lot of food for what you pay for. It's right across the street from the virgin hotel.

Coraima S.

Yelp
Visiting from NY. Food was spectacular. My friend had the big bowl and i had the tacos. Two steak and 1 fish. Wow. So much flavor. Steak was tender. In the bowl even the potatoes were so flavorful. Totally recommend. Drinks were also delicious. Justin was our server and he was very pleasant.

Nicole R.

Yelp
Juan's didn't disappoint! Ate there twice when staying down the street during the Eras weekend. Food was fabulous! Creole Chicken Tacos, twice!

Jenna C.

Yelp
Best street corn in the CBD! The staff was very nice and attentive as well. I was really craving street corn/ elote ... so I did a little walking. I got it from here, Johnny Sanchez and tacos del cartel. Juan's was by far the best- no competition. I now know not to waste my money on any other corn besides theirs!

Haley V.

Yelp
The service was a little slow albeit not many people being in the restaurant but the food was good. There's indoor and outdoor seating with a cute, kitschy atmosphere. The food is pretty run of the mill but well executed.

Sam B.

Yelp
We were not even seated and the staff showed its rudeness. The hostess had a mouthful of food and when we asked if she wanted to finish eating, she said it was only candy. The barmaid thought she could deal with us, but she was just as rude. We left to shouts of "Have a nice day!" We all know what that means. Go to Johnny Sanchez around the corner -- impeccable, friendly service. They honored Juan's Happy Hour, too. We live in the neighborhood -- we are not visitors. Will let everyone know how awful the place is to customers.

Dor C.

Yelp
This place is great quality Americanized-Mexican food. Jalynn was an amazing server and really helped us out. I'll be coming back very soon

Luis D.

Yelp
My first visit was just over a month ago during a work trip and I told myself I would be back. I am glad I returned. This time I came a bit later in the night and was seated inside. The hostess was missing, so the server showed us to our seats. Inside is small but not tight. The inside has a fun aesthetic beginning with the items on top of the bar and then some cool art on the walls. It was more packed than my previous visit but you can still hear your conversation for the most part. I ordered a guacamole and chips to start my meal. The guacamole is great. The chips are fine. For my main meal, I ordered the Western Burrito. This burrito packs a spicy punch likely from the pickled jalapeños. I wasn't paying too close of attention when I ordered but it did have a kick. The food came out fairly quickly and service was decent. I like the outdoor seating area which can be a good choice if you don't want to be inside with the noise. Juan's is conveniently located so I will be back during my next business trip.

Gloria M.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service! We did the chip trio and all were good and the guac was super yummy. We all tried different things and we all loved them all. I had the chicken enchiladas verde. The refried beans were very good. My friends had the steak tacos and the Flying Burrito. They loved them.

Taylor M.

Yelp
Exactly what I was looking for. Made me feel like I was back in Austin eating here. Started with the trio. Chips, salsa, guacamole and queso. My friends had the beef tacos, mushroom quesadilla and jerk shrimp salad. The hot sauces were great. The bar tenders and manager were super friendly and attentive. Great service. Pro tip: slosh some of that crystal hot sauce all over the chips before you dip. I wish there was a Juan's near me!

Nic H.

Yelp
Eating Mexican food has never been a priority when I'm in town, so it's no wonder I was clueless about this gem! We started out with chips and salsa and drinks. I had the frozen lemon berry margarita and one was absolutely enough. The alcohol was plentiful and it tasted delicious. For dinner I ordered the super nachos grande which was STACKED with Ground Beef and Creole Chicken With Black and Pinto Beans, Cheddar-jack, Sour Cream, Guacamole, Salsa La Fonda, and Jalapeños (ingredients as listed on the website menu). The portion was so generous, it didn't even look like I made a dent in it. Oh, but did I... Happy I found a new favorite, already know what I want to try next time.

Yelp
Food is good, service is fast enough for lunch, cost is reasonable. Here's a few more thoughts to round out this review: 85 characters isn't strictly necessary to complete a review. I suppose it would have been intended to rule out the fake reviews, but with AI today, it's easier to make a long, fake review than a concise one. None of that has anything to do with how awesome Juan's is, though. That's just my thoughts on Yelp's review requirements.

William B.

Yelp
The ambience was good and the was service good but the food, at least my enchiladas were dry and extremely salty. it appeared that they sat under a heat light way too long. The refried beans were more of a sticky paste and not a smooth consistency. I did not taste them because they looked veryunappetizing. I would consider this more of a bar Than a restaurant,, but as with any local place, I do enjoy trying them.

Coral E.

Yelp
Delicious! Cool, up-scale-ish Mexican fare with great outdoor seating area on Baronne. Friendly service had us seated quickly with addictive salsa, queso and chips ordered and brought out shortly. Had one of their hard lemonades which was tasty and the chicken enchiladas for my meal. Enchiladas were super flavorful - you can choose red or green sauce - and come with black beans and rice. Husband scarfed down the three pigs tacos and a frozen margarita. We'll definitely go again when in town.

Jonathon L.

Yelp
Service sucked!!! I will not be back. I asked for recommendations as I had never been here before, Was told to just keep looking at the menu and let them know when I was ready to order. Sounds fine but you had to of been there in the moment with their tone. Could not get a refill on my drink. Not busy. Waitress came back smelling of weed to bring me my check.

Matthew G.

Yelp
Juan's Flying Burrito is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped in, the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel at home. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering options, but the blackened fish tacos stole the show - they were a flavor explosion! Each dish was meticulously prepared, showcasing the freshest ingredients and bursting with authentic Mexican flavors. The burritos, quesadillas, and tacos were all exceptional, fulfilling my craving for delicious Mexican cuisine. And let's not forget about their margaritas - perfectly crafted and refreshing, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. The service was impeccable; the staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and made fantastic recommendations. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Juan's Flying Burrito is a must-visit spot. I can't wait to return for more of those incredible blackened fish tacos!

Yelp
Decided to order lunch from here last week on Wednesday the 26th. I placed my order online and got the Big Bowl with dairy and fajita vegetables. When I walked in no one was at the hostess stand, but there was a waitress who was walking towards me with menus in her hand. I thought she would've said hi someone will be with you in a second or something, but no she came to the stand in front of me, looked at me, put the menus down and then walked away without saying a word . However, the next person who came to the front greeted me and gave me my to go order. The food was a little disappointing. I say this because it looked so good, but the flavor wasn't what I was expecting. The meat had a lot of fat on it and the parts that weren't fat were very chewy. The potatoes were seasoned very well and the rest of the bowl was okay but it just needed a little more seasoning for me. I've had food at this location and at the one on South Carrollton before that I enjoyed, so maybe they were having an off day?

Chelsea Y.

Yelp
Writing this review as I sit here. This place is amazing. I ordered 3 street tacos, queso and margaritas. I prefer the more authentic tacos and this did not disappoint!! Taqueria level in NOLA. I was looking in the kitchen to see whose Tia was working it. I never order chicken tacos but the adobo chicken was delicious, surprisingly my favorite. Don't sleep on the pork or house made chorizo either. Loved the salsa verde - nothing needed more flavor or sauce, but it's available.

amy s.

Yelp
This place has been a gem in past years. But the past three times I have ordered, the guac tastes like grocery store guac (not fresh). And the shrimp, chicken, and steak combo meals are 95% chicken. The last two orders had one morsel of steak and 2 shrimp. Next time ill dine in so I can get it exchanged / fixed. Because they upcharge for steak and shrimp - but almost none used. But their flavors and quality are great!

Jane B.

Yelp
Went there for' early dinner due to proximity to our hotel and not wanting to melt in the scorching heat on the way to and from there. Menu had lots of different options of food and drinks. We were a little ambitious ordering food and went for Stadium Nachos as an appetizer and Baconz Azul quesadilla for me and a Flying Burrito for my daughter. When the nachos came, I knew that we will be taking the other food to take back to the hotel. Needless to say, everything was fresh, delicious, and nicely plated. We are from NYC, so the prices are super reasonable for both drinks and food. In one word - AMAZING!!!

Georgia C.

Yelp
Our server (Jaylynn) was in training and pretty timid. The house margarita was nothing to rave about and I find it ludicrous that you have to pay for chips & salsa when you are spending a good amount of $$ to begin with. Taco Tuesday was nothing special. The chili beef & chorizo tacos were dry. We also had the Too Shelf and Super Ultra margaritas. Again, nothing special just more money.

Michelle T.

Yelp
Very nice waitstaff. It was busy so they were moving slow, but it was excusable. Decent food, especially for a late night. Would return!

Ben H.

Yelp
Awesome bartender.... Fast service. Great margarita & tacos. Cool little place off the beaten path. Highly recommended! Sit at the bar or get a table with some friends. I will come back to this place.

Luke J.

Yelp
The service is sometimes good but can be sketchy at times. The nachos are good. The jerk chicken burrito and gutter punk burrito are very good. The blackened fish tacos and street tacos are very good. The environment is nice.

Bethany H.

Yelp
All around wonderful experience. The drinks were strong and delicious (if you like spicy margaritas, order the caliente!), our food was so tasty, the restaurant was clean and had a great vibe and our server was wonderful. He freely offered recommendations of other restaurants throughout the city to try with different cuisines that he personally loves. I definitely recommend making a stop!

Michael M.

Yelp
Back in New Orleans for vacation and my first stop HAD to be Juan's. And it did not disappoint!! This place is so freaking good. Had the 3 little pigs, Juan's Flying Burrito, and chips with that outstanding salsa. Love the atmosphere and service. Highly, HIGHLY recommended!!

Augustin C.

Yelp
The waiters are "rough but friendly" types, I personally found that refreshing and more authentic. The jerky shrimp were basically the same "rough but tasty", which I felt was a good fit. Eating outside even in winter was a plus (thanks to them being accomodating) and I feel I had a very nice meal for not too much. I recommend for sure. Seems the best lunch options for me around (others seem more "plain corporate" in comparison, significantly more cheap-tasting, or overpriced). Here you go, flying burrito!

Jen L.

Yelp
Not my regular Juan's but it was close and we were starving! I was at an event with some friends in the area. I had snacked before going out but they had been thwarted in their efforts to enjoy HHs in the area. So when we got out of the event after 8pm, food was a necessity! We were seated quickly. Service was personable and fast. Food and drinks were just what we needed and it didn't break the bank.

Brian H.

Yelp
OMG one of the best burritos I have ever had! It is definitely worth going for lunch or dinner! Server was fantastic!

Kate B.

Yelp
Best nachos I've ever had!! Host was clearly uninterested in working, but he wasn't rude. Server was so sweet and attentive! Definitely recommend!

Mike B.

Yelp
Stopped by for an evening bite. We had the magazine taco plate. Really good. Well priced. Really enjoyed the vibe. Good choice!

Ashley V.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed at my experience here. The waitstaff was highly forgetful, not sure if it was because of the parades and busy atmosphere but there is no reason my friends and I should have to wait an hour for supreme nachos when the table next to us sits down after us and gets their food before us. In addition, the quality of the food was not great. I order the chicken quesadilla and chips and queso. Both lacked flavor and the consistency of the queso was very odd. Would not recommend this as an option for any meal unfortunately.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Great little spot. It's a chain with a handful of locations but it feels like a mom and pop hole in the wall hidden gem. Very extensive menu with endless options. Something for everyone from veggie lovers to meat eaters. Cute and cozy bar area with extensive alcohol offerings. Perfect for outings with friends or family, kid friendly. They take covid protocols serious. I enjoyed a modified "Flying Burrito" with only shrimp. There was no difficulty getting a menu item modified to suit my taste and I love this. It was flavorful and plenty. My friend tried the "Gutter Punk" and she raved about how good it was. I also tried a "hard lemonade" which contains a mix of lemonade, vodka and mint. It was refreshing and just the right balance of all the ingredients mixed together. Definitely recommend.

Crystal H.

Yelp
Food was really good and service was great. I had the mission burrito and my husband had the chicken tacos. Both were really good.

Laura D.

Yelp
We came just for drinks on our last night in NOLA & we had chips and Queso & Chorizo, really yummy with a kick. Holy water and a strawberry margarita while we relaxed my husband decided to order their Flying Fajitas, and they were yummy‼ our server was Connor and he did a great job in every aspect.

Hitendra K.

Yelp
We found a nice Mexican restaurant close to the hotel we were staying. We sat outdoors as the weather was quite nice. We started with a couple of drinks and queso and chips (not pictured) which was a good size portion. Mains included greens goat quesadilla, vegetarian luv it bowl, fish tacos and chicken enchiladas. All of food was of good quality at reasonable prices and service was also very good.

Tom N.

Yelp
Wow!!! Those burritos are legit... as well as the tacos... We had the cow punk and the shrimp banh mi tacos... The cow punk was unreal... the skirt steak had a beautiful wood smoke that is so rare (the last time we had something similar in skirt steak with wood flavor was in Argentina!). The flour tortilla was perfectly chewy and held up the ingredients well. A little smallish for size (we had homes in Austin and Portland, OR as well as in the wine country in Washington...). The banh mi tacos were wonderfully prepared with the right amount of pickled veggies and the sriracha sour cream... They also have the homemade salsa - both green and red are superb... The price is very reasonable - even in NoLa... Oh - almost forgot - the frozen (20 oz) would only take you back $ 11!!!! That is INSANELY tiny price for a wonderful drink

Laura G.

Yelp
great experience :) very happy with the food and service, our server wrote down for us some cool spots to check around! thank you Justin! As Mexican i recommend this place, def coming back
