Food is nice portions, although I added ground beef & shrimp to this nachos, and it was not enough for the price. This was my third time visiting this location, and services wasn't good. My server wasn't pleasant when I ask about the menu. I felt rush to order and she just wasn't engaging. I wanted to get suggestions for other items on the menu. I didn't get any of the condiments to top off nachos, so it was dry tasting. I've visited the CBD location services, which was a great, very personal experience. Overall food is a great customer service skills needs improvement at midcity. Also sanitation needs to be addressed washing hands more often.

So, we had Juan's for dinner last night and were really excited for the order of Americano tacos, queso con chorizo, and beef enchiladas. But when I got the food, I was disappointed. The queso container was only half full and watery. There was barely any chorizo, and the enchiladas tasted like they had been coated in an entire bag of sugar. Took a few bites and then threw the whole thing away. I'm a big fan of Juan's, but paying nearly $70 for a meal that wasn't even edible was a huge letdown.

This restaurant is located in the MidCity near main crossing of the Canal Street and South Carrollton. There is a small parking behind the restaurant or nearby street. This restaurant stays extremely busy during major events and weekends. They have outdoor dining facilities. This restaurant serves delicious Mexican food and many choices for the vegetarian. The menu describes in the detail all dishes. There is lots of variety and choices from the Bar menu. It’s great for couples and romantic so do family. We are dining here for more than a decade.

Excellent! I love the traditional tacos. The servers are friendly. Perfect place to grab a bite anytime.

Google
Great food for an affordable price. Server was friendly with the kids and the kid prices you can’t beat. Portions were a nice size too. This was the first time going but not the last!

Google
Juan's Catering absolutely hit it out of the park with our HUGE catering order for our company. What truly impressed us was the level of service. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly. If you're looking for a catering company that delivers on both taste and service, look no further than Juan's Catering. We highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again in the future.

Google
Absolutely phenomenal food! I got the Bacon Azul Quesadilla, probably my favorite quesadilla I've ever had! My boyfriend got the enchiladas which were equally delicious. (He let me steal a bite) This place is the perfect vibe, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great spot for lunch or dinner. I will absolutely be back many many times!!

Went out for Father's Day. Really enjoyed the margarita pitcher and the food. 🩷

Yelp
We were in the mood for mexican and were in the area and never been here so decided to try it out. we starred out with chips and salsa, which are not complimentary here. the chips and salsa were decent, although a bit small for the price. we then ordered a taco salad and three tacos - a banh mi tofu taco a chicken taco and another veggie taco. the taco salad was large and had both chicken and beef but it was not in a taco shell rather it had pieces of tortilla on top. the tacos were decent, with good flavor and a decent size overall a decent place with good portion size and decent flavor

Yelp
Love it here!!! This is DEFINITELY my FAVVVVVVV and my go-to for Mexican cuisine!!!! Located on the corner of Carrollton and Canal, Juans is where I stop in and pick up all things, Mexican. From the quesadillas to the nachos and chips to the fajitas to the burritos to the sopapillas to the tres Leche, to the Margaritassssssssss. I love it here. I ALSO love that there are several other locations in the city, just in case you're not in the area. But this is my favorite one. I love the staff. Not the greatest parking situation but it's Canal Street, what do you expect. Yes, Juans does not disappoint. The vast menu is simply amazing. I love that there is food for the meat lovers, and the vegans alike. I've had taco salads. I've had quesadilla with lettuce and tomato, my most recent favorite is the mango, spinach, jerk shrimp salad, that might not be the order of the words, but you get what I'm saying there's mango, there's jerk shrimp, there's spinach oh, and did I mention that there's a bean quesadilla amazing. I can eat that by itself and this is usually what happens... oh, and when I tell you the margaritas are everything, I'm not lying. They are to live for... whoop, whoop especially if you can catch the happy hour special where you will get a double for the price of a single... just one of those and you are flying high on the hog. I love it here as I said before it is my go to place for all things, Mexican. #thankfulThursday #yelpersgonyelp #supportlocal #veganoptions

Yelp
The food is the best Mexican in the city in my opinion. Love the flying burrito and the beef nachos. The bathroom facilities are dirty, however. Needs to be addressed

Yelp
I hadn't been to Juan's location since high school, and it's exactly how I remember it: great staff, cozy interior, yummy food, and clearly everyone's favorite because it's always packed, lol. I also forgot how much of a doozy the parking lot is to navigate. It's quite compact and also shares space with what I think is an apartment complex and a business, so your spot options are further limited. Probably a better idea to parking on the street and walk. I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for food wise, but our lovely server, Morgan, recommended the flying enchiladas and I was not disappointed. They had a combo of shrimp, chicken, and steak in them and were covered in a delicious red sauce and cheese. It also came with rice and beans. No complaints here. We also got the queso with chorizo and guacamole. The guac was just the right amount of spicy and the chorizo wasn't too greasy or fatty. I also got a side of the pineapple salsa and it was delicious. Slightly spicy, sweet, and kind of refreshing for a hot day. It was super chunky though, so if you're looking for a more blended, smooth salsa this may not be your jam. The drinks were also quite good--got a double Cadillac margarita. Perfectly boozy. We ended up sitting outside, so I for sure feel like I should have tried a frozen drink, but there's always next time!

Yelp
We went early on a Friday to beat the crowd and get parking. We got a table a few minutes after arriving and it was so hot inside. I got a cocktail off their tales of the cocktail menu and it was nice and spicy. For an appetizer we got chips and queso which were nice. For my meal I got the steak tacos and a side of black beans. The black beans were good and I added some of the green salsa to kick it up. The steak in my tacos were kind of fatty which turned me off. Next time I'll get something else.

Yelp
I just visited and it tastes as good as I remembered last time I had it. Tastes great!

Malia A.

Yelp
Very cute place! Great food. Loved the quest and bean dip with bacon. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
On vacation we walked to Juan's after a show for lunch. The place was clean although on first glance one may wonder but that is only because the place is older and so what if the menus are tattered and booths older. The table, floor, and dishes were all clean. I ordered the Love It Bowl and I Loved it! It had yellow rice (unique addition), black beans, salsa, squash, zucchini, guacamole, corn and love. It was delicious. My other half had a taco salad with ground beef and chicken. She said it was very good. She really liked the dressings. They have good tortilla chips, good ice tea but a mediocre bloody Mary. Our server was very nice and accommodating. There is outdoor seating and a small bar. My only complaint is the music but rap and electric guitar are not my thing.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
Love this spot. I go here every time before going to the drifter for a swim day. The salsa and dips always come out so fast even if they're busy! Fantastic service. An even better happy hour! They do get busy but the servers are always very nice and timely.

Bill A.

Yelp
Wow! Never have been here before but I'll be back for sure! Very casual place to enjoy great burritos served by smiling people who seem to enjoy working there!
google avatar

Shalon P.

Yelp
I mean... what's not to like. Consistency is the name of the game. Reliable!! Normally I get the pork and slaw tacos. So good! The most recent time I ordered this hawaiian quesadilla. I can't remember the name of it now. It was very good though. They have such a high variety on their menu. If you're looking for authentic Mexican, this probably isn't the place. If you're looking for good food, you found it!
google avatar

Chia B.

Yelp
I love the menu options here. I've searched far and wide for something like the flying burrito in other cities and either it doesn't exist or it costs too much. Steak, shrimp and chicken in a burrito is genius! All of the menu items are reasonably priced. That said, the food at my last visit was underwhelming. The queso had the watery consistency of soup, the guac had too much citrus, and the salsa was bland. My burrito was okay, but the flying enchiladas were hard and crunchy. I still think it's a good place and I've always gone to this location, but I'll try a different location next time per recommendation from my friends.

Yelp
We've been in Mid City for over two years and finally made an effort to try Juan's. It is really good, so now I'm kicking myself for not having tried it sooner! It's so close to us too! We got the Flying Burrito and Blackened Fish Tacos. We ordered pick up online and they were so fast to complete the order :) The Flying Burrito was delicious! It had skirt steak, chicken and shrimp! I forgot that, so when I tasted all of them, it was like "awesome!" They didn't overcook any of it either, so the texture and the flavors were great! The burrito ate really well with their red salsa; it offered a great kick without it overwhelming the palate. The fish tacos were awesome! I could actually taste the fish, which usually isn't the case at other restaurants. The sauce (I think it was cilantro) on the side they had with the tacos were great too...really elevated the flavors :) I know I'll be craving this place a lot. It's scary because it literally is two blocks from our house....dangerous Hahha

Yelp
We just had the best food and the best service from Taylor. There were four of us visiting and we all LOVED our food. I had the creole shrimp tacos and they were so good. Great drinks! This location was near our air b&b and was super convenient. Even if we didn't stay in this area next time we would come here again.

Yelp
Variety of menu choices. Easy to customize and personalize selections. Tacos can be ordered individually. Rice is well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Meats were tender. Service was friendly and team oriented. We were well taken care of. Ambiance is inviting and decor is rock punk. Limited seating.

Davin C.

Yelp
Horrible service and treatment. The so called management team had me wait 30 minutes for a to go order. Just to come tell me after waiting that they couldn't simply make my to go order with the meat on the side and not on the taco. Which I get every time I come in. I feel like I was denied because of my race or a problem the manager had with me. All I wanted was my meat on the side so my tacos didn't get soggy on the way home. Place was much dirtier than it usually is. Very disappointing and not happy with the management here. I'm sure the owners would be disappointed knowing about this. I could also see clearly in the kitchen which was not too busy nor was the restaurant busy

Andrea B.

Yelp
We went in and ordered 2 Quesodillas on Chicken on Skirt Steak. Takes 25 minutes and they still can't get the order right! We asked for avocado inside they forgot put on the side. I get back to our place and I have no meat in two of my tortillas like 4 pieces of steak waste of time and my money.
google avatar

Allana L.

Yelp
I wasn't a fan.. ordered a margarita and she didn't tell us they weren't frozen.. my chicken enchiladas chicken was dry as idk what lol. The cheese on top was super rich and it took away from the flavor. Service was kind of slow too.
google avatar

Mina H.

Yelp
My boyfriend brought me a take-out order from Juan's Flying Burrito. I really loved that everything was packaged in paper products. Paper takeout box, paper bag. No plastic. LOVE that! I didn't order it myself, so I'm not exactly sure what it was, but I think I was eating a chicken burrito. The burrito was as big as your face with plenty of meat in it! Delicious too! I'll have to go back and update this review. My boyfriend had a fish taco of some sort, and he said it was one of the best tacos he's had in this area!

Ace T.

Yelp
At 11 am, 3pm, and 7 pm on different days this location is too busy...the staff just doesn't want to process third party app orders. Cool. Just completely remove your storefront from delivery apps. Problem solved. This is a better option than having a storefront on these apps but being "temporarily closed" to delivery app orders on a daily basis.
google avatar

Troy E.

Yelp
Okay for what it is...overhyped recommendation IMO. Good joint for a lunch bite but don't expect complimentary chips and salsa.
google avatar

Ioanna K.

Yelp
This is the best food and service in NOLA by a long shot. The drinks and food are perfectly priced, and taste incredible. Get the street tacos and a split a frozen lemonade marg with a friend, they're strong and huge and perfect for a lunch out! Go here if you can, even if it's out of the way!
google avatar

Shy B.

Yelp
Chicken and chorizo tacos are amazing !!!! I also really enjoyed the jerk chicken nachos with the pineapple mango salsa
google avatar

Sharona T.

Yelp
Fish Tacos, were there any fish in the tacos, because the fish were chopped up so fine that you couldn't see if there was actually fish in the tacos. I am still looking for Baja Fish style tacos especially with the abundance of fish here!
google avatar

Haley H.

Yelp
Juan's Midcity is constantly pretty good with a great location. It's so fun to eat at the picnic tables outside right on Carrollton. Sunday is all day happy hour, which has great deals for margs. The dips are very fresh and the other dishes as well. The only reason this is a 4 star review is that the rice and beans are very unflavorful. I'm not sure there is even salt and pepper on these things. It's quite surprising compared to the rest of the food! Clarification: this is the side of black beans, not sure how the refried ones are
google avatar

Nancy O.

Yelp
Seriously, anyone who doesn't love this place is questionable. I mean, what are they looking for? Creole/Mexican cuisine? Check. Huge eclectic menu with ample Vegetarian and Vegan options? They got dat. Quirky, attentive staff? That's also a yes. Get the BRC if you're on a budget, the char-grilled tofu if you have tastebuds, and the Cadillac Margarita if you're feeling splurgy. Locals welcome, weirdos preferred.
google avatar

Yelp
Stadium Nachos were GooD, definitely taste like eating at a game. They really set my expectations high for the entree because of it. But our entrees - tacos, big bowl, and quesadilla were mediocre, good but nothing special. Service was good too. Our waiter was very nice and helpful, got all we needed and efficiently. They played great music inside too that my friends and I couldn't help but jam too. Overall, it was a good experience.

Nola S.

Yelp
I've been eating here for years and it's my go to for Mexican food in the city. I'm pescatarian and there are tons of options for me. Everything is customizable. The service is also great. It's not overly friendly, but never rude. Which is my preference when it comes to service. Also, huge portions!!
google avatar

Alicia S.

Yelp
I ordered the adobo chicken and jerk chicken street tacos with flour tortillas. The adobo chicken was incredibly flavorful, moist, and had the perfect kick of hotness. Not burning hot, but perfectly spiced. The squeeze of lime is the cherry on top. The flavors compliment each other well. For my second order, I expected the jerk flavor to over power the rest of the taco. However, I was surprised that the jerk spice pairs incredibly well with the cilantro, onion, and lime flavors. Highly recommend this order if you haven't tried it! While the tacos were tasty, the service was even more impressive. My waitress was warm and efficient even though it was quite packed. She recommended the perfect seating for our group, and we really enjoyed our time there. Overall, great taco spot to satisfy cravings!
google avatar

Robby S.

Yelp
Trendy stop on the Nola culinary journey in a good spot if you're looking for an alternative to rich seafood. Great casual atmosphere, excellent customer service and weight staff and you can't go wrong with the namesake, Juan's Flying Burrito (which is huge, with steak, shrimp and chicken) or Juan's Flying Enchiladas (equally as huge with steak, chicken and shrimp, covered with three different sauces) which is what I got this time...it was a specialty of the house and came highly recommended and is one of their best sellers. Good prices and great service and definitely should be a stop to mix up your culinary ourney to New Orleans with something that's not seafood!
google avatar

Zi-on C.

Yelp
Yikes. It's always a risk going to a Tex-Mex place when the restaurant is neither in Texas nor in Mexico. Unfortunately, I took that risk and paid the price dearly. Their "banh mi" tacos and fish tacos both tasted exactly the same: of copious pickled carrots and mayonnaise. It was honestly pretty difficult to tell that they were even different because you couldn't taste the pork, nor could you taste the shrimp. Just pickled carrots. And mayonnaise. And my goodness, the tacos were sopping. The flour tortillas (similar to Walmart quality) were completely soaked through and tearing apart. You had to eat it with a fork. It was a rough experience. On the plus side, the chips and salsa were decent, but it's really tough to go wrong there.
google avatar

Joanna S.

Yelp
I've only been here twice once during the week and then on the weekend, it was busy both times but still the wait was not long. Parking is extremely limited so look for street parking or around the block. We also ordered 3 different burritos all of them were delicious! The jerk nachos were dry and not very cheesy but the stadium nachos were definitely the best and the queso was really good! Our server was excellent and we even had live entertainment, the tree across the street caught on fire due to a storm! Overall there were plenty of items to choose from and prices were very reasonable everything was $10-$15, will be one of my lunch stops
google avatar

Duane C.

Yelp
Great Mexican place with traditional favorites and some very interesting fusion dishes as well. I highly recommend the chips and queso appetizer!
google avatar

Jadyn V.

Yelp
A great taco spot in New Orleans! There are so many options on the menu and you will want to try everything!
google avatar

Chandler D.

Yelp
Juans is delicious and a perfect place for a bite to eat! They have multiple locations around the city. If you are ever craving you know you'll be near one. They also do pitchers of margs which are ok but enough for a table of four with two at least each! Their chicken quesadilla was perfectly cooked with a crispy tortilla (just how I like it). Side note, they have a good kids menu with some pretty nasty items like burritos, chihuahua, and quesadillas! My niece loves it
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
I have been meaning to get a review in for Juan's for a while, but kept forgetting. This place is a local legend, of course, so probably needs no introduction! We got the chips, salsa, and guac to start - all good! The guac is pretty solid. We also ordered the Stadium nachos - nom nom. HUGE portion of nachos, honestly way too much and we took some home. Really well done, lots of toppings and just a hot mess...in the best way. So I ordered the Flying Burrito. Yep. The namesake. It was everything it should be. My only complaint? The shrimp, steak, and chicken were added in sections versus spread lengthwise, so you basically had a shrimp burrito for a few bites, a steak burrito for another few, and chicken at the end. All delicious, but I was angling for a mix throughout. Finally, we ordered the steak taco truck tacos - these were...ok. Good, but nothing mind-blowing. I'll probably try a different taco variety next time, but no complaints. Some dranks, beers, etc - all good. The place is solid, and I'll be back again (as I have for several years before I actually got off my ass and wrote this review!)
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
For those of you who have missed the bahn mi tacos during Covid... BREAKING NEWS! It's back! Not on the menu, but you can order it, and order it I did! Still the freshest taco in town! Full of spicy goodness!!! The happy hour double house margaritas are sure winners, as well. Honestly, Juan's is still a "must visit". The tacos, burritos, chips, salsa, guacamole are all phenomenal! Don't be afraid to visit during the pandemic. Additional outdoor seating has been added. Plenty of space to distance and hand sanitizer available.
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
The food here is always good. I ordered the Bacon Azul Quesadilla. Super tasty and savory.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Every time I visit a Juan's Flying Burrito, no matter which location, it is always delicious! I love the variety of flavors that there are to choose from. Also as many options as there are to east however you like. Whether it be a bowl, nachos, salad, burrito, quesadilla, you name it. My kids thoroughly enjoy it also! I cannot believe as many times as I have come here I am just sharing how much I love this place. We visited the Magazine location today & our server was also great! As always, will return!
google avatar

Dylan M.

Yelp
So this was a disappointing visit to Juan's. I don't usually go to this location but I was in the area and decided to pick up some food to bring home and eat it later for dinner. I arrived about 11:15am soon after they opened and they weren't busy. I ordered while there and repeated the order to him to double check it. They said 20 minutes so went for a walk. When I came back they informed me they were out of tofu which removed half the order. Since I didn't have another 20 minutes to reorder the missing items I just paid for the two burritos and left. I had payed up to make the burritos both SUPER which was adding quac and sour cream. Well that didn't happen either. So let's just say while I'll come back to Juan's this experience was a bad one. Do better!

Shawn R.

Yelp
Good food, good environment, great service. I would recommend for sure. Take advantage of happy hour margaritas as well!
google avatar

Shelley S.

Yelp
I was there yesterday with my son. I ordered a flying burrito. It came rather quickly which was fine. I took two bites and it was cool on the inside. I prefer my food hot. When I asked the waitress If she could heat it up she said ok and took it to the kitchen .. she immediately returned with my cold food and said sorry we cannot reheat this since you already took a bite out of it. There was no offer for refund or something else. How would you know if you like your food if you don't taste it first ? Ridiculous in my opinion.... I'd put zero stars if I could.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
A cute little Mexican restaurant with plenty of options! The menu has a variety of different tacos, nachos, burritos, quesadillas, and margaritas. We started off with the chips and queso which was delicious. The cheese was warm and creamy with a delicious kick of spice! The cheese stayed creamy throughout our meal and never got cold and hard or chucky. For my meal I got a simple beef quesadilla. It was stuffed with cheese, perfectly seasoned ground beef and salsa. I really enjoyed it however it was super greasy. Grease was dripping out of the quesadilla with every bite. I also ordered a margarita on the rocks which was good but nothing special... just a typical margarita. I would probably try one of the specialty margaritas next time.

Brian M.

Yelp
This used to be our neighborhood go to...few times a month. However, things have changed. Ordered online, went to pick up, gave my name to Bartender she said it's not ready yet. No worries..kinda busy, lots of go orders. Sat at the bar for 35 minutes, finally asked again. Ohhh your order is the one in the bag that has been sitting on the shelf since I first walked in. Time before that ate inside. Food quality is slipping as well. Unfortunate to have to find a new spot.
google avatar

Nina N.

Yelp
So good! This joint is right next to Whole Foods. Do yourself a favor after grocery shopping and grab some loving for your tummy. They have several locations, I believe this one is their original. The food was excellent, but our server was the sweetest. I don't remember her name, but when service is that great, wow, you're food just tastes 10x better. The nachos were so good and my blackened fish tacos were amazing. Also, not too expensive, and portion sizes were great.
google avatar

Marigny L.

Yelp
Juan's Flying Burrito is a great place for takeout, especially recently because of the pandemic! I got the Vegetarian Salad (no black olives or jalapeños) with a side of Chipotle Ranch. The salad was plentiful and they give you a generous serving--you could definitely split it! I have gotten the salad with jerk shrimp before and it was good, but be cautious that it is extremely spicy. I really loved the salad this time around, and I am planning on ordering it again in the future! It would also taste really good with chicken instead of the tofu!

Sarah Q.

Yelp
Great! We had a misunderstanding about our margaritas order and the manager went above and beyond to correct the situation. I love them always. But, I especially love the customer service and their awesome team.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Sorry but we had a terrible experience there tonight. They were out of 4 different drinks we ordered and our food took an hour and15 minutes to arrive. And the place wasn't busy so no excuse. And the bathroom was filthy and smelled like an outhouse. Never again.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
This local chain is not the most Mexican of Mexican restaurants, but it has some things going for it. It is a real sit-down restaurant and not a takeout window as I had guessed. The menu is excellent from my perspective, with interesting vegetarian options based on a variety of ingredients and plenty of sides and add-ons. The burrito I ordered came in ten minutes or so despite a reasonably busy shop. I asked for spicy salsa inside the burrito, which definitely delivered the flavor, but they also gave me some salsas on the side, which I did not need but will save for my own cooking. I am not persuaded to abandon my other local options for Latin American cuisine, but for a quick lunch place, they did a good job and there are plenty of other menu options which I would try.

Yelp
Full disclosure, I only ran in here for a midday snack. I ordered 2 street tacos with Adobo chicken and Iced tea. The chicken has a great flavor. A little spicy but not the affront I've learned most of the local restaurants call creole seasoning. the came in white corn tortillas with onions and cilantro. Good stuff for sure. The iced tea was harmless and the waiter was perfectly nice. My friends had margaritas and bloody Marys. Everyone seemed happy with the booze.
